Great hotel very clean. Amazing staff they were so helpful and went above and beyond. Even there continental breakfast was great with an excellent selection to choose from. Even as I was leaving carrying my bags and pushing a stroller one of the housekeepers on my floor came over to me and helped me down to the lobby.

We really not just had a great but fabulous experience with Melissa and all her staffs at the penthouse. It was my daughter’s debut party at the penthouse. The place was great and perfect as it was located at the top most floor of the building. Melissa was so flexible on everything and we did get a decent price for the entire event, and it was worth it, the service and everything! To Melissa and staffs, BIG THANKS TO YOU! Kudos to everyone at the hotel! Outstanding service!

Convenient location downtown. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was decent, with some variety between mornings. If the Wi-Fi was a 911 call, I'd be DOA! Lobby by the elevator always smelled like a campground bathroom, and hallway on our floor had persistent smell of cigarette smoke. Parking is a bit confusing. Bathroom had loose shower curtain rod which kept curtain from closing all the way. Toilet handle needed to be held for a complete flush. Not quite up to other HI's I've stayed at, but might stay there again.

Very nice and clean rooms with a walk out balcony. There were amenities like a workout room, pool and hot tub. The location was also great, just a few blocks away from some great places.

We attended a wedding reception for 80 guests. Delicious food, professional waiters, well-stocked bar, beautifully decorated private penthouse dining room offering very nice views of Edmonton's skyline and river valley. Perfect for a reception of any kind.

The hotel is great and has a nice breakfast and polite people. And I just looked outside by the balcony and saw someone who was shot and killed. But wonderful service ya know?

Lipstick on a pig. Some refreshes make it look decent but the under-maintained and beaten building is still evident. Thin walls mean you will likely want the "sleep kit" they offer. Sales manager is quite rude to guests and won't allow teens anywhere in the building without an adult escort. That's garbage. Check in is the slowest I've seen. Central location is handy.

Disappointed with the extra parking charge. Breakfast was good but seating was limited. Check in after 9 pm was a long process. Only one person on the front desk on a Friday evening. And he wasn't super friendly. Probably won't stay here again, only stayed because it was last minute and most hotels were booked. Room was clean.

During my stay at the Holiday Inn Express, Edmonton Downtown location, a complimentary breakfast was offered which is excellent. To my disappointment, I noticed the immense amount of waste that this breakfast and Holiday Inn Express is responsible for. There were absolutely no reusable or waste-free options. All of the plates and cutlery were plastic. I would like to suggest that Holiday Inn implement the use of reusable cutlery/utensils and plates for all meals offered at their hotels. While the hotel itself was fine, I would not recommend anyone to stay in a location with so little regard for the environment or alternatives to have greener impact.

The staff was really nice here. My room was great, quiet room. I must say though if you plan on checking out late advise front desk and place the "do not disturb" on the door … or they will knock and knock and knock and knock even after you said you've mentioned late check out besides that its a cool place to relax while Edmonton.

Rooms are clean and daytime staff are accommodating and friendly, location is good, breakfast is good and parking charges very reasonable. You can't have food delivered to your room which is a huge pain in the ass if you decide to work in for the evening. Have been staying across the street just for this reason.

Very good service. It is an older building and you can clearly hear your neighbor. They give little sleep kits to help if you get noisy neighbors. Close to great food and drinks. It is pricey but no different from all the downtown hotels. I would stay again.

The room is nice and it’s a good, clean hotel overall. I’m disappointed because I was looking forward to a nice long soak in the hot tub but the water was scalding hot. So much so that I couldn’t get in and after having my feet in for as long as I could stand it, there were bright red welts all over my toes and ankles. They need to do something about that before some really hurts themselves. Also I think if you’re already paying a bunch of money for a room it’s ridiculous to still ask another $20 for parking. Tip: park in the Impark lot across the street. $3 as opposed to $20. Would not book here again.

Good overall stay, nothing fancy but it's a good place if you're just in town for a short time. Breakfast is included and is more than the usual continental offered at many of the hotels and has some healthier options. There are restaurants nearby and it is within good walking distance of Jasper Ave (public transportation). Parking is $16/day with Inpark and is a surface lot right beside the hotel BUT, especially when the lot is snow covered, parking spots can be hard to come by.

I don't know if the people I spoke with over the phone are associated with the hotel or not, so I will certainly remove this if they are. If you are attempting to book over the phone or online with Holiday Inn Express, do it only if you have ALL the time in the world! It took me a little under a week to just get an email leading me to what was not even a contract or quote. All I wanted was a simple quote! So I phoned the Holiday Inn by West Edmonton Mall and got a quote in 7 minutes. When I phoned the Holiday Inn Express I was put on the line with people who would transfer me to other people, thus quickly feeling like I was just a number on the line, less a person. They told me they would email me a quote the same day, which they did NOT! Very frustrating as I was planning a band trip and just needed to get it completed quickly. Would not recommend booking this hotel over the phone or online at all! Annoying!

The staff at this hotel are always so friendly. They have a package for people who can't sleep, or maybe if the hockey goers are too loud. The gentleman who runs the breakfast bar is amazing. He's probably the reason many of us come back! Super friendly and helpful. He even remembered I had exams and asked how they went in the morning (I passed! ). The breakfast is really good, lots of options. The rooms are clean and spacious too. There's paid parking at the back if you come with a car or it's easy enough to book an airport shuttle from the front desk.

This is an older hotel and it shows in some ways. The elevators seem a little beat up and the fitness center leaves a lot to be desired. You can count on doing some cardio but the home gym machine seemed like it really needs some maintenance. The staff here has been stellar! They have fully made up for any of the little issues I have found. All of them have always been super helpful and very friendly. The included breakfast is good — it's pretty much your standard Holiday Inn breakfast with eggs, sausage, juices, coffee, some breads, cereals, and fruit as well. Even though it is a bit old, the entire hotel was very clean when I was there. I would stay again.

A quieter location and is an older property but consistent with chain values and layout. Good service and people and general impression was good. Comfortable and an excellent sleep. Maybe housekeeping could be a bit better but I still recommend this place.

Just spent 2 weeks here. Clean, modern rooms. Great staff, especially David on the front counter. Very polite and helpful.

Nice room. Seemed clean. Our floors vending machine and ice machine did not work. But that was no big deal for me. The hotel room did it's job. Comfy bed, shower worked good. Everything was stocked up well. Would go again. Great location.

This hotel was amazing; we left our ipad in the room and not only did they find it and save it for us but they mailed it back to us. The service was phenomenal, beds comfy, clean and great breakfast! Kids enjoyed the pool/hot tub.

Did a one night stay at this hotel and had an excellent experience. The staff were very kind; they were happy to switch us to a king room for the night. The room itself was very modern and clean. Overall great hotel would stay again.

Our room was excellent: spacious, clean, and stylish. Comfy beds and pillows. We felt a bit pressured to leave a good review, though — our rapid checkout in the morning included a letter asking us if we would rate them 10/10 and "if not, why? " It was pushy and tacky. One elevator is out of order and the other elevator is very slow, so keep that in mind if you have mobility issues. I'd stay here again, though, if I got a good deal and wasn't with someone who couldn't take the stairs.

Not impressed — Staff called me at 7PM the day of my arrival WHILE I WAS STANDING IN LINE IN THE LOBBY to tell me they had overbooked themselves and had set me up at another Holiday Inn on the other side of town. We planned to stay at this Holiday Inn specifically because it was near to the hockey game we were attending, so it was very inconvenient. Not to mention, they did not offer to pay for our extra cab fare or accommodation for that matter. The person who called to give me the news was barely apologetic, and I never even received a follow up from the manager. As an IHG member, I am fully aware of how this situation SHOULD HAVE been handled, and they came no where close to my expectations. Very disappointing.

I stay here every time I am in Edmonton. The rooms are modern and quiet. You don't have to fight to find outlets. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast has a good selection.

Nice clean room; fairly updated. Parking was relatively easy given I was driving a full size truck in downtown Edmonton. The 5 star rating was for the staff, I checked-in at 1am and staff was happy friendly and really gave a welcoming feeling. Breakfast was the same food as any other Holiday Inn Express but again staff was there saying "good Morning" and smiling, really makes a difference.

Stayed there a couple of times. Staff is friendly and the rooms are clean and modern. There are several USB ports to charge phones in case you only have a USB cable.

New renos are great. Breakfast continental. Have Wi-Fi. Rooms look good, along with lobby. They have security in lobby but no elevator security. In rooms you can hear anything in hallway, so assuming vice versa. No concierge. Was given wrong directions. Across from lively downtown pub that has some interesting characters in it. No restaurant. Edit 2 days later: Staff keep this place running, not the 75%face lift it received over the past year. pool and hot tub seem good, but gym is tied into pool facility so pool hrs apply. They can grant special access on request. Gym itself should be considered cardio only, as weights are sub par, minimal, and in disrepair. Wi-Fi is intermittent through building. Corner units really struggle. Additionally, the Wi-Fi is through host sign in site so randomly had connection issues. Elevators are really slow and old. Additionally, service staff used both as required which exacerbated bottlenecks during peak hrs.

Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Very comfortable beds… like sleeping on a cloud. New renovations are awesome! Free breakfast with health conscious selections. Kids love the pool… Dad loves the gym… Will definitely be coming back.

Party going on and loud banging and music. I called the front desk at 11:08pm and told them about the noise and they told me it would stop at 1:00am and that this is there quiet time. This is bullshit for peaple who have to work in the morning or want a good nights sleep. This is the second holiday inn express I've stayed at and my last.

Bad experience from a front desk lady who was blonde (non-accent speaking, there was another blonde who has an accent — Ukrian or Russian. Well, she was not im talking about, aiitght? ) likely a supervisor or manager, I wasn't quite sure. Btw the look of her made me feel uncomfortable to come here again! No service mind at all! Breakfast was good Room was good.

I have stayed here twice now since the renovations. The Front Desk staff are always very good! As a seasoned traveller, this hotel is Extremely well priced and valued. Yes it is an older hotel getting a facelift but the value is worth overlooking minor things. Thank to all the staff who consistently have a smile and kind words.

Worst experience I've Ever had. Staff is disrespectful and ignorant.

I stay at this location often (perhaps 40 days a year) on business. It is good value, well located in downtown Edmonton, safe and the service is second to none. The building is not new but it is fine — excellent hot tub, pool, business centre and lots of wonderful sitting space near lobby. I love the balconies. Coffee is always on. I've always had excellent experience with the $11/day parking and they will stretch a day for you like nowhere else! Kent and his friendly, efficient staff will spoil you here. If you are a Platinum member, they will always (and automatically) upgrade you, subject to availability. I'm very sorry that they are full when I try to book — this is a popular place and it books up. I have quite high standards when I'm paying $150/night but I'm super positive about this HI location in Edmonton.

Great breakfast. Parking tight but expected for downtown. Internet access was excellent. Clean lobby and rooms.

Stains on the ceiling. Odd smells. Broken elevator for hours (it's downtown, it doesn't take forever to fix an elevator). Free Wi-Fi is useless — you can get a wire from the front desk but they neither offer it when you check in, or bring it up to your room (even though I passed through the lobby and 4 employees were chatting about star trek and not working). Horrible service. Would not stay here again, especially with better hotels being in this area for the same price.

We stayed 2 nights here and I have been always somewhat cautious of cleaning people entering my room and therefore had the "do not disturb" sign hung. Well a cleaning person did enter our room and we had a large sum of money go missing. When speaking with management their story continuously changes one time to the next. Needless to say, DO NOT STAY. Their staff will disobey openly displayed do not disturb signs and are not trust worthy. As well as management cannot give straight answers and will do NOTHING about it.
