Ac wasn’t working in the hotel and it was incredibly hot during our stay at the hotel.

I have to go to Edmonton for work and this place is great for some one wanting to do a bit of work away from their hotel room. They have large tables with power outlets and huge windows letting in lots of natural light. My only complaint was the parking was inconvenient. If you don’t know where to go it was inconvenient to get to and the exit door was not working so guests had to use the same narrow door to get in and out of the parkade. These are small complaints, however. A good hotel to stay in, especially if you area business traveler.

Will NEVER stay at this place again! For a brand new hotel, it was definitely a disappointment! The toilet in the bathroom never flushed properly, it was completely plugged! We called the front desk and made them aware of the issue. Their response was, just try and flush it, sometimes it gets plugged! They eventually sent a maintenance man to our room, he was absolutely no help and just said, this toilet always is plugged! Nothing was fixed, we were expected to stay in our room with no useable toilet! Shame on you Hotel Management! We had to ask for a discount for our room the next morning and the manager wasn’t even apologetic, worst manager ever, lacks people skills and general common sense!

The hotel is in a good proximity to the lively downtown area. The hotel itself is also very nice. They have free Wi-Fi and free buffet breakfast which by the way tastes great especially for hotel food. The rooms are nice. They may need to pay a little more attention to the details but other than that they are very nice. The bed feels like heaven!

All I can say is terrific selection I reside near Niagara Falls and let me tell you having breakfast included is a treat The selections of toast eggs bacon sausage fruits oatmeal and more The prices are great The hotel is modern clean and quiet Absolutely a place I would return to Hyatt downtown Edmonton you won’t be disappointed I know where I’m staying my next visit to Edmonton Oh it’s a 5 min walk to the hustle and bustle so why not stay somewhere a little quieter when you SLEEP.

It's a fairly new Hotel so it is very clean and well designed. Parking cost an extra 27$, Drinks at the beautiful bar are a bit pricey, we got 4 long island ice teas for 42$. A free breakfast is included and it is the best free hotel breakfast I've have, they also switch it up everyday so you don't end up with the same stuff. Staff was awesome no complaints. The room was big and the couch area gave us a place to eat and relax without using the bed all the time. Location is unbeatable, we walked everywhere.

Great hotel close to park to walk and choose to food. The rooms are quite new and well kept. King bed with sectional in the room is very comfortable. They have a really great breakfast in a large nice seating area. Would definitely stay here again especially for the price.

Nice new property with well appointed rooms and a spacious lobby lounge with a bar. The hotel is located in an area of downtown that is very much still developing, but is close to downtown and across the street from the river valley. Staff was helpful but clearly still learning the ropes as well.

The hotel is very nice, clean and bright. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The gym is well equipped and clean towels are available at the hot tub. We had an early dinner at the restaurant. I ordered the perfect cheese sandwich. It tasted fine but the bread was a bit dry. The bed in our room is one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have slept in.

From the friendly and very helpful staff to the clean premises, I had an awesome experience. Although my stay was just overnight, I was treated like a frequent customer. I will definitely stay here again.

Service was very very nice. Late night menu was surprisingly better than expected. The breakfast buffet is the definition of perfect one of options all fresh, hot. And if you need a gluten free option you just notify them and they hook it up. Friendly staff, inviting and although the hot tub seemed to never be on the workout room was decent. Thanks for making the stay. A cozy one.

Parking rate for guests is same as for the public. There should be a lower rate for guests. Left loose change on dresser one morning and cleaning staff took it which is not cool. They should not consider loose change as a tip. Great desk staff and breakfast staff, very friendly (sometimes a little too friendly). Breakfast fair was so-so but edible. Would stay again.

Just checked out this morning from a three night stay great customer service as well as the rooms where very clean and cozy and the buffet breakfast was excellent highly recommend staying here next time I travel will be staying with them.

This hotel was a great place to stay! A bit torn on promoting it as the underground parking was awesome, lots of room as was the breakfast with relaxed, nice setting and food, and decent people, vs some of the crowds for breakfast and no good parking in other downtown-hotels. Maybe best not promoting the hotel as it is nice less busy as it was this trip, more visitors only make the next stay more crowed…! The staff were amazing and friendly. Even after we left, daughter forgot something in room, we phoned a day later and they found it, had it at the front desk for her. They joked with her when she ran in to get it. The complaints on the reviews about the underground parking had me a bit concerned as I have a crew cab 4x4 truck. The entrance and exit are tight angles but no problem, to the negative review posters that complain on vehicle damage or not making the corners, maybe it is time to get a driving refresher course as it not hard to fit a full size truck in there. Safe and secure parking underground, no worries leaving your car, with large spaces to park. Will be back. Excellent experience.

Great hotel! Staff is super nice! Only problem I found is the underground parking entrance and exit, Designed poorly. Be very careful going in and out. Or youll have a big dirty scratch.

Really enjoyed our stay here this weekend. Location is dandy, breakfast was quite good. Special shout out to Patric on the front desk. He made our visit extra special. Great job!

Great service. A wonderful place to stay. The only complaint I have is the fact that the elevators only allow you to get off on your floor. This is inconvenient when you have a group on multiple floors. The breakfast is a good way to start the day.

Great fancy hotel with nice rooms. Good place for conference delegates with good food selection at hotel bar/food area. It does not have a formal restaurant, supporting freedom to hang out in the lobby.

Room was beautiful, but smelled like dirty diapers. Made reservations at the restaurant and took forever to get food. I personally didn’t even receive my food. What a disappointment. Hot tub was closed for maintenance. Expressed my concern for the room smell while checking out and was blown off. I paid more than enough for the room and parking. All this to be wrong I’d rather stay at a motel which was advertised for $69 a night. I paid almost triple that for a nights stay here. Save your money and go somewhere else. Worst experience at a hotel EVER.

Beautiful location, seriously one of the nicest hotels I've seen aesthetically in the city. However this hotel falls short on nearly ever other front. We visited on NYE to explore downtown and enjoy our night, however with — 32 (ish) weather walking wasn't really an option. We went down to sit at the bar and see if anything was going on to find that not only was the entire lounge empty, the bartender was nowhere to be found for ten minutes! The bar was a mess with open (full) milk jugs sitting out way too long, half drunk glasses on the counter (with no patrons to be seen) and everything unorganized. As per breakfast, I'd pass on it again because it was free and still not worth it. I think this hotel has a lot of potential but needs the proper staffing to support it.

The hotel itself was fantastic. The service was great and the staff were stellar. The rooms were very well set up with a sofa, king size bed (in my case), no balcony but not an issue, and seemed virtually like a home away from home. The concierge desk was located on the second floor as I can only assume that the lobby desk is still in the process of renovation. The card access was not completely reliable and you had to scan multiple times to get the card readers in the elevator to acknowledge. What gave a low review of the hotel is the location. This is literally in a skid row area and you are surrounded by facilities you would not expect a $140 a night room to be in (methadone clinic, battered woman's shelter, mostly boarded up and derelict buildings). I grew up near this neighborhood and can say this is not an area to go for a stroll or a walk at night. Walking across the road to grab a bottle of wine revealed several members of the local indigenous gang known as "Red Alert" (easy to spot by the amount of red they wear like caps, etc) hanging around the store and the side of the hotel. Drug addicts, needles, etc on the ground just west of the hotel among all the scattered garbage. In order to access the nearest restaurant, which is approximately a ten minute walk, you will need to walk through this dimly lit area. This area has very slowly been going under a renovation, but with the increasing rate of vacant buildings, this will likely be staggered by a few years.

The service at the Hyatt was pretty good. The staff seemed responsive and the event is attended flowed without interruption. The bathroom did seem to run out of paper towel pretty frequently. I was able to borrow a phone charger, though, so that's cool. The beer selection at the end of the day was pretty despicable.

Great service, great set up and looking room, and access to a workout room. I love that you can only use the elevator if you have a room key and same with the front entrance door during the night for protection. Very thoughtful and would definitely recommend.

Hotel is nice, in a not-so-nice area of town but the building itself is new and beautiful. Rooms are spacious. Ours smelled like there was maybe a sewage problem next door… maintenance was in the room next to us when we checked in. Other than that staff was friendly and helpful; they even brought us some masking tape to tape up our "happy 30th birthday" sign!

Very modern looking hotel, rooms were clean and service was great. Breakfast was extensive and well made. The chef even came out and asked us how things were. Gym was usable with quite a few pieces of equipment. Disclaimer for this review being I didn't personally pay for it so I can't comment on the value.

Went for a dinner banquet. Staff were very friendly. Facility is beautiful. The lobby was surprisingly cold (but it was a cold day outside). The food was pretty good. That's all I know.

I recently stayed here. I arrived at 5pm and my room wasn't ready, although I was told check in was at 4pm. They allowed me to sit at the bar and said food and drinks were on the house. The front end staff were nice and apologized for the wait. The room was nicer than I expected. Very clean with a decent amount of space. Breakfast in the am was very tasty and Check out is at noon which was an extra bonus. Just a short walk from the main part of downtown, with a view of the river valley. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

I've been in better and worse hotels. Underground parking is a nice amenity though their lot may be a bit tight for some people or vehicles. The included breakfast has a fair variety of things on offer, though I wasn't particularly impressed by the quality of any of it. One thing I found weird was that you need your room key to use the elevator and it will only take you to the floor your room or the pool is on. That in and of itself isn't that unusual, but the ice machines aren't on any of those open floors. So unless you have the good fortune to end up on one of the 2 floors that had its own ice machine you have to use the stairs. Not a horrible place, but given the choice I probably would not stay there again.

The rooms were amazing and the view was spectacular. Location is in a very optimal place as it is only 15 minutes from West Edmonton Mall. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and the service was great. Rooms were professional but comfortable. Only downside was the parking. It was a tight squeeze to get to the underground parking. Bring a small vehicle. Otherwise I'd recommend this to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in downtown Edmonton.

It's a brand new building, and hotel. My room is spacious and was very clean upon arrival. The staff have been nothing but excellent. I stay in a fair amount of hotels across the country for work and can honestly say everyone I've come across here has been fantastic; The front desk (2nd floor) person, all the way to the person mopping the floor in the lobby, has been a gem. Professional, sincere and accommodating. The hotel's location leaves a bit to be desired, but that aside it's worth your nights stay in Edmonton.

Newly built hotel within walking distance to downtown core. Excellent breakfast area and food. Clean and modern facility with television in dining and lounge areas. Electronic card access to entrances, elevators and rooms.

The room was quite nice, but there were some negative aspects about the hotel in general. The underground parking was very tight, we walked into a construction zone. The hallway from the parkade to the hotel was being renovated but there were no signs telling us we should have used the elevator. Late at night we just wanted some snacks from the lobby but there was barely and staff to serve the crowd (a concert had just got out). So we just left some cash and walked away without them actually doing the proper transaction. But the room itself was nice…

Stunning hotel. Location is great as Edmonton continues to expand. Rooms are very clean, amenities are also fantastic! Everything is brand new and the breakfast bar is beautiful! The staff were more than acccomadating and extremely polite. Best hotel so far in Edmonton! Note to future guests there is lots of free parking in the area.

Chic and modern hotel. Visit for the long weekend. Amazing service. Hot Tub amazing. Good and fresh breakfast. Recommend it for families with babies 100%.

This hotel is a new and fresh concept. The rooms are spacious. There is a free hot breakfast served every morning. The eating area is well set up with plenty of plug-ins right in the tables. There is also lounge on the main floor. The location is close to everything in downtown Edmonton. This is a great place to stay.

My room was really large and spacious. Very clean. Nice hot breakfast in the mornings. Very courteous staff. I am very happy with my choice to stay here. It is a very nice Hotel.

I have had something similar happen to me at a different hotel. But the GM upgraded us and came to see me and apologized right away. After we came back we had a card and fruit basket to apologize. There was no standard at the Hyatt place hotel in Edmonton downtown. I have stayed in plenty of hotels as I travel a lot. There is no excuse to his attitude towards the situation. Please stay at hotels for comfort and to relax. Not to feel unwanted. This couple just wanted to spend their wedding night. I feel so sorry for the couple that they were treated that way and it saddens me they would welcome a new couple this way. This GM has failed his job. That means he cannot fulfill his duties to delight his customers.

I can't believe a bride was told — — by the GM — — to check out 2 hours before her wedding (in her wedding dress), after the horrible night the bridal party experienced. This GM couldn't recognize that the issues brought up by the bridal party could have easily been managed, but instead of accommodating his "valued guests", took offense, and thought the best course of action was to make everyone leave?! A guest asking to be moved to a room with working electrical and air conditioning sounds reasonable. Making guests move rooms in the middle of the night before the wedding (with no assistance from staff), then kicking them out altogether because a GM can't handle negative feedback? Insane. What a poor choice of GM.

People need to avoid this place. I was in a bridal party and we had a room for the night before her wedding. Air conditioning did not work. We requested a new room. At 1am we dragged our belongings to the 8th floor as no help was even offered. The next morning at 545 am I traveled downstairs to grab some breakfast for the girls and bride to share. I was told breakfast wasn't until 7 am. No problem I would grab some complimentary coffee and come back at 7. At 7am I go down w…ith my cousin while some of the girls and the bride are getting their makeup and hair done. I felt uneasy as it felt like we were being watched as we were getting breakfast. As I was bringing 2 plates out I was stopped by the general manager Carlos. We were told we were not allowed to bring food up and that breakfast had to be consumed there. We explained to him that we were part of the bridal party and was just brining it up as they were getting their makeup and hair done and were hungry. He firmly said no and that no hotel with continental breakfast would allow that. I disagreed as I have stayed in many hotels that have allowed me to do so. We had then also brought up the inconvenience we had experienced the night before. He took extreme offence when we told him we kind of got a crappy room because the ac and outlets didn't work.

I won't go into a long review of everything that's wrong with this dump. They want to be considered a high end hotel and be up there with the fairmont… but the Hyatt Edmonton downtown wouldn't even be up there with a super 8. Carlos Montenegro the general manager at this Hyatt was unapologetic when a issues were brought to his attention. Instead of trying to fix the issues we experienced he kicked and screamed and demanded to speak to the bride. He called up to the room sc…reaming at her for being unhappy with the room, and then kicked them out on the wedding day. He tried to defend all the issues with the accommodations and poor service by saying he provides amazing service… "greeting the makeup artist at 530a. M" was proof of it. The bar for good service is set pretty low… 1 star is too generous for this dump.

I would rate this hotel NO stars if I could. The GM of the hotel has horrible customer service/management skills. He was about to make the bride to be, check out of the hotel (kicking her out) on the morning of her wedding. All because he couldn't take some constructive criticism on how he can improve his hotel after a number of things raised red flags. From the moment I walked into the hotel until we left, something about this hotel seemed off. Probably due to the lack of professionalism. When you hear the hotel name Hyatt, you think of a high quality, and impeccable hospitality. But unfortunately this is not the case for this newly build hotel. This hotel defiantly needs an experienced manager.

This is a new brand for the World of Hyatt and as a hotel in Edmonton, it was welcomed because it is a new construction. You'll find on reviews of many hotels in the city that contain gripes about this being old, that being broken, and the like. I will take that noisy air-conditioner any day to the cranky horrible manager that runs this place. I was being checked in by a staff member and near done. All of a sudden, the manager intervened and said, "Sir, did you speak with anyone about your dog? " I booked online dude! And, unlike other places that offer you 'Special Requests' for dogs, you didn't have one. I did call to confirm my booking and ask about the dog policy, in addition to reviewing online, the response was we welcome you. Nope, not welcomed at all! I was told, "Sir. I will have to refuse your stay. " After punching a bunch of keys on his computer, he eventually said, "I am making an exception. We only have one room for dogs. " I later confirmed with hotel staff that they have more than one room on two floors in fact. So what gives? During my stay, I heard multiple confrontations with guests. I heard at least two guests saying "I don't want to argue with you. " The same manager said, "We are not arguing. We are having a conversation. " Ya okay. DO NOT STAY HERE unless you want attitude, an unwelcoming experience, and unhappy staff! The buffet breakfast is unmanned.

Disappointed. Was not aware that we would have to pay for parking. As well… their 24/7 gallery menu, which you have to pick up… closes at 10:00pm. I'm confused because 24/7 usually means 24 hours 7 days a week. Unfortunately, we will not be staying here again.

What's up with the random blasts of hot air throughout the building? Room smelt funny, almost like backed up sewage. Free breakfast was under cooked! Hot tub was being fixed and parking is 28/day! Best part of the hotel is the outside. Also. Warning: the windows are not tinted! When we left the hotel, we saw a couple naked on the 7th floor (why they were up against the window beats me).

Attended a reception ceremony held at Hyatt Place. Venue was wonderful with a nice lobby. Staff was friendly however there was room for improvement when it comes to accommodating a large number of guests. Overall experience was definitely good.

Not a normal Hyatt and don't expect that. Nice hotel… For a best western type hotel. Price was cheaper and it's a good thing it was. Parking sucks. No room service. Key card access only in the elevator so don't even think about going to a friends room. Stay somewhere else of you want Hyatt type quality.

It was weird that no one was at the front desk on the main lobby floor. We went upstairs for drinks/appetizer/dessert however I found the layout of the "restaurant" highly confusing. There was only a bar so I was unsure if I just sat down if anyone would come to take my order. There were no servers or greeters to this area. While it looked beautiful, and an had excellent aesthetic, it was unfortunately confusing. If this area was late out correctly, we would have eaten there. Instead, we left and ate elsewhere.

Parking is $28 a day which sucks and the neighborhood is not the greatest but it is undergoing substantial changes. Those are the only cons. Hotel is gorgeous in a non stuffy way. Bright and modern but still feels homey. Rooms are spacious with nice touches including coffee maker and supplies and mini fridge. Our room had a nice little sitting area with a corner sofa separated from the bed by a narrow privacy wall. Would be perfect for a child. Bathrooms were huge and spotless with nice lighting and a hairdryer. The decor was very zen like and calming. Beds and pillows really comfy. Breakfast is included and it was really good. Gorgeous kitchen/breakfast area with scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, fresh fruits, yogurts, cereals, pastries and all the other usual suspects. It however tasted nothing like the usual boring breakfasts. The food was really good as was the coffee. Staff were amazing, super friendly, again not the slightest bit stuffy and seemed genuinely happy to see you. I loved my time here and my only regret is I am not likely to return to Edmonton any time soon but if I did, I would definitely stay here again.

Nice, clean hotel and very friendly staff. Made me feel very welcome by bringing me a coffee and warming up a cookie for us! I like the lounge area, great for doing some work on my laptop and enjoying a drink.
