Basecamp Resorts Canmore

This is a great place to stay when exploring the Canadian Rockies. The self check in is well organized and easy and it’s a 10 min walk to downtown Canmore. The only downsides are the occasional trains passing by and lack of larger windows/views. That aside this place is great. I’ve stayed here 3-4 times over the years.

I was surprised that the room is fully equipped with everything we need. We never called reception during our stay because everything is provided for us. Room was also really clean. I just hope you have some free souvenirs we can keep like a refrigerator magnets or such to add additional superb experience. Thanks Basecamp. Until next ❤️

The location is good. Don't get wrong, and the rooms are spacious. But there needs to be some quality control with who cleans the rooms. Some rooms were very clean. Other rooms had burnt on food on the stove and soap scum in the corners of the shower. The other issue is there needs to be a gate for the parking lot. On multiple occasions I would come back to vehicle in my assinged stall due to rocky mountain beagle co. Leaving me no place to park.

The Good:
— great location smack in the middle of Canmore.
— comfortable rooms.
— friendly front desk staff.
— a 30-second walk from Rocky Mountain Bagel Co. For breakfast.
The Bad:
— The walls were really grimy and dirty to the point that I didn't like my towel hanging on the hook and touching the bathroom wall. Bedroom walls were also pretty gross. For the cost, I would expect better cleanliness. This would probably prevent me from staying here again, which is a shame, because it has a lot going for it.

Basecamp Resort in Canmore is in a prime location: it is easy access to the highway whether your headed to Banff or Calgary and is walking distance to everything downtown. It’s so convenient and the views are absolutely stunning! I always love being able to grab Rocky Mountain Bagel right next door ;)
The resort is also pet-friendly which is always a must for us and makes traveling so much easier.
Unfortunately, the hot water tank wasn’t working during our stay, so the showers were freezing, and the hot tub was out of use, which was disappointing. The Wi-Fi was also pretty patchy and I ended up using my data plan, so if you’re planning to work remotely, it might be best to head to one of the great local cafés nearby instead.
The micro studio was perfect for a quick weekend getaway, but I’d recommend a larger room for longer stays as it’s quite compact. The interior is rustic and basic, but clean and cozy enough for a short visit.
The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, which made a big difference. Overall, great location, views, and pet-friendly setup, just wish the amenities had been fully up and running.

We had a great stay at Basecamp Lodge Canmore! What I really loved was the smooth, touchless check-in process—they sent me a pre check-in link and then a code for the room, which made everything super easy and convenient. The bedroom design is cozy and stylish, the pillows were so comfy, and it really felt like a mountain lodge retreat.
Another great perk is the free use of bicycles, perfect for exploring Canmore at your own pace. The property itself has a warm, rustic charm with beautiful common areas, a fireplace lounge, and mountain views that add to the relaxing atmosphere. Parking is also very convenient but tight, and the location is in town while still feeling tucked away in nature.
Overall, Basecamp Lodge is the perfect mix of modern convenience, comfort, and mountain lodge vibes. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting Canmore!

A lovely modern apartment, very clean and tastefully appointed. Bed was not the expected queen, it was a double. Great value compared to nearby hotels. Check-in was easy, but arrival before 4pm comes only with a fee. Parking spot is a huge bonus. Nice bagel shop next door — but go early, it gets very busy. Rooftop hot tub wasn't overly hot and with cameras and a lot of rules! Easy walk to downtown, over the tracks through a nearby trail. Communication with host was efficient if not a little over the top — I got no less than a dozen messages before and during our stay. Recommended.

We went on a girls weekend to Canmore and stayed at Basecamp Resorts in a three bedroom suite. The room was perfect for the five of us, the staff were super friendly and very accommodating, the location was perfect and we loved the hot tub. Our stay far surpassed our expectations and can’t wait to visit again! Thanks for making our holiday so memorable!

A stay at Basecamp Resorts in Canmore is a true delight! The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the reception team, in particular, is so very nice. We were especially impressed with Joseph, who was extremely knowledgeable and gave us great suggestions for local sites. We took his advice and loved everything he recommended. The convenience is unbeatable, with easy access to everything you need.
Our room was really lovely—clean, modern, and very well-appointed. The views from the resort are simply breathtaking, with stunning mountain scenery all around. The added bonus of having a sauna is a definite plus for unwinding after a long day of exploring. As a cyclist, I especially appreciated the fact that they are so accommodating and offering bicycles for you to use. It's truly a fantastic place to stay!

Absolutely loved our stay here. Very nice to have found a place at a good price for 3 couples. This was the only place that offered that. Also loved the convenience of the location. Right next to breakfast place and so many restaurants. Quick service whenever you needed anything. Oh and a hot tub was the icing on top. The only downfall was the rooms are tiny! With no room to put any clothes. Other than that a perfect stay we’d come right back here.

My friends and I loved staying here! Great location, very close to Downtown Canmore, the highway, grocery stores, and restaurants. It had an in-unit washer and dryer, full kitchen, comfortable queen size sofa bed, and great-smelling soap from the Rocky Mountain Soap Company. The staff were extremely kind and helpful and provided us with everything we needed, including a pack-n-play for my friends’ baby. The virtual check-in was so smooth and any time we reached out, they were quick to respond. I would highly staying at Basecamp Resorts Canmore and would gladly stay again!

My spouse and I were on vacation in the Canmore/Banff area and stayed at Basecamp Resorts for three of the nights of our vacation (we arrived on a Sunday afternoon and checked out on Wednesday morning). All in all, we had a great stay!
To check in, we had to go to the Lodge building. The check-in process went fairly smoothly, and then we went over to the Resort side and arrived at our suite (#112). It was quite nice! Sort of like a one-bedroom apartment. The bedroom and bathroom were small, but despite that, it served our needs well.
One feature of this resort that we really appreciated was the outdoor hot tub that's up on the top floor of one of the buildings. The hot tub has beautiful views of the mountains nearby, and we got to use that one of the afternoons during our stay. It was great!
Altogether, we really enjoyed our stay.

So glad we chose to stay in Canmore. It’s such a cute and less busy town but with heaps of nice places to see. Basecamp was also perfect! The kitchen had everything we needed, jacuzzi was very nice, and room was super clean. Highly recommend staying here.

The hotel is lovely and after not having a laundry machine for a week it was very nice to clean our clothes. One laundry pod is provided so you can bring your own detergent or ask the front desk for more if needed. The kitchen has electric stoves and is fully stocked with dishes. The beds were comfortable. I also appreciate that they use a local company’s shampoo/soup from Rocky Mountain Soap company.
The building is located near walking/biking paths that will take you either to banff or to downtown Canmore. Downtown Canmore is less than a 10 minute walk.
The only negative and it’s a negative if you are a light sleeper, is the railroad in town is behind the hotel. The freight train runs through town at least once or twice an hour. However, the hotel does provide you with earplugs.
I still recommend staying here if you can overlook the noise of a freight train and if you want a place that feels like home.

The hot tub in the property was not working for the entire long weekend, which was the reason we chose this property. Getting to know last minute that the hot tub is not functioning, ruined our trip. We were directed to a different property at 5 mins drive to use their hot tub. That property’s hot tub was very dirty and there was no one to assist us. We had to remove the tub cover by ourselves. There was no towels, or changing/shower room. My trip would have been way better if I chose a different accommodation with better amenities.

Exceeded All Expectations!
I was honestly not expecting much, but wow…. What a pleasant surprise! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by how clean, modern, and updated everything was. The rooms were spotless, the common areas were well-kept, and everything felt fresh and welcoming. There’s no elevator access, which might be a consideration for some, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience at all. I also loved the thoughtful touches like the selection of teas and hot drinks available both in the room and the cozy common area…it made the stay feel even more comforting. For the price point, this place is an absolute gem. I had low expectations going in, but Basecamp completely blew them out of the water. I’d definitely stay again!

Very good location, a view of three sisters right through the window, nearby convenient stores. A great place foe family to stay, I just wish that we were transferred to a three-bedroom apt when requested but communication was too slow, there was no respond about the request until we left. Anyway, we still enjoyed our trip.
We got everything we needed in the kitchen except wine glasses, we used an old fashioned glass for wine on dinner.
