Delta Hotels by Marriott Calgary South

The location is easy to find and there’s a Walmart nearby, but that’s where the positives end.
I booked more than a month in advance and was still given what was clearly one of the worst rooms in the building. On one side: the ice machine. On the other: the gym. The “balcony” advertised on the listing? Doesn’t exist. Instead, the elevator is right outside the door — which means nonstop noise, including kids knocking on the door as a joke before they hop on.
The Atrium section is an acoustic disaster. Every voice, every shout, every sound bounces around and ends up in your room. The weekend I stayed, the hotel was full of youth sports teams running and screaming through the hallways. No staff. No security. No attempt to control the chaos.
For the price they charge, you’d honestly be better off at a Motel 6. At least there, you know exactly what you’re paying for.
The only competent part of the entire stay was the breakfast staff at Sage Restaurant. They were excellent — and clearly the only people in the building who take pride in their work.

The hotel is excellent. It’s clean, service is amazing and location is great. We love going to the executive room for breakfast/ snacks. Leilani works in the morning and her service is nothing short of amazing. She’s welcoming, friendly and just provides the best customer service to everyone that goes into the executive room. I would come back just for the great service here.

I stay in hotels over a 100 nights per year for work as a Director of Operations for a large restaurant group. Visiting the club lounge at this Delta is next level. The food is better than expected but the service from Lialiani is unmatched. Within 5 minutes I thought she was the best hotel employee I'd seen Within all my travels. I was wrong, during my breakfast experience she proved to be the best hospitality professional, I've encountered in Canada. Her enthusiasm and service is unexplainable and must be experienced to comprehend.

Lots of unsupervised children running around. Site claims there is an adult only pool but that pool was full of children.
Voices echo in the halls and pool area. The balcony is neat, reminds me of a cruise ship, but voices enter room easily when balcony door is closed.
Bed is comfy, standard modern room.
Overall 5 /10. Diva sutra is $60 a night, delta is $250 a night. If pool was indeed adults only it would of been worth it but is was not.

We had our wedding ceremony at the Delta Calgary South and we are so happy that we did.
From the room block options and guest amenities to the beautiful aesthetic that made for perfect photo opportunities, everything was truly top-notch.
All of the hotel staff were so kind, friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Our guests were very happy.
Vicki, the event manager, deserves a special mention. I cannot thank this lady enough. She answered every one of my million questions over the last year, she was patient with me and her email responses were always prompt.
She made times of complete stress in the wedding planning process an absolute breeze.
Dealing with her was amazing!

We recently booked this hotel for a youth hockey group, from the get go the staff were incredibly helpful and polite. I conversed mostly with Paige and she was so attentive fielding my many requests and questions! The team loved the hotel, the breakfast was a huge hit with differing options each morning. The hotel was the perfect location, another highlight was the sports lounge available to use free of charge to sports group. Shout out also to Vicki and Sarah who were also great to deal with. Would highly recommend this location. Their customer service here is top notch!

This hotel has a great location, amazing interior which seemed to have been renovated. The pub restaurant doesn’t allow kids, which is a bummer, as the menu is budget friendly. The other restaurant has a more expensive price and not too kid friendly. Like they cannot play the games too. The employees seem like they didn’t have much passion for their job. We had to have our meals out, as they were so many options all around, nearby the hotel. The rooms are ok, but the noise from the construction remodelling, not so much. The outside was just ugly, white paint, white metal roof, and wood accents, would have brought the hotel to another level. Overall, I do not know who is putting these 5 star reviews, as this hotel can be great if it was well managed. It is supposed to welcome families when you got all these restrictions for the kids, which is not common at all.

I really appreciate and enjoy our stay in our own property that cares in Marriott’s associates. Special service in our breakfast in Sage & Co Shona and Viviene so awesome servers, customer service is above & beyond. Food is so delicious, served our breakfast in time. My family enjoyed it so much, Sinaga and Ismael, Dara assist us so well, go above & beyond in customer service. Our rooms are really clean and so comfortable den. I love Delta Marriott by Southland feels like your home. Love the people… Chad the Sage & Co manager serves us hot mulled wine 🍷 so delicious. Awesome Chad. Thank you Delta Southland for having us. This is such a fun and wonderful hotel for family fun time. We stay here once or twice a year in the poolside rooms in the atrium side and it’s so fun for young kids to play in the pool all day long! The gyms are amazing, I really love the yoga studio style room and the two weightlifting/treadmill rooms.
Leilani and Lina are the absolute highlight of our visit! They dote on our little girls and are so very friendly, sweet and accommodating, my girls adore them.

I recently stayed here for a work event for 2 nights. My room was the nicest bi-level room I’ve ever stayed in for work. The service from the moment me and my coworkers checked in was incredible. We were greeted with a bottle of water (which we all needed), and then upgraded to incredible rooms! The food in the Club Lounge was amazing! The workers every time we went in were so kind, courteous and helpful! They all went above and beyond and I can honestly say I can’t wait to get back to this hotel! Thank you so much for such an incredible stay!

My husband and I stayed overnight here and arrived quite late. We called ahead and all the staff were so informative and courteous. We received extra bottles of water, a voucher for breakfast, and cookies! The bed in our room (805) was big and SO comfy, including our pillows. The shower and room were super clean and we just overall really enjoyed our stay. We will be back to stay at this Delta!

Our stay at this hotel started off on the wrong foot, unfortunately due to the front desk experience. The staff at check-in seemed confused and a bit rude — they didn’t seem to know much about the hotel’s own amenities, and when I asked if they had toothpaste available, I was met with what felt like annoyance. There was also a gentleman standing off to the side on his phone, who turned out to be the manager, which was surprising given how disengaged he was when we were asking questions.
After check-in, we tried to stay optimistic. We went to the wrong building at first since our room was actually in the Atrium, but we didn’t mind the walk — the skywalk between the buildings was actually really neat and a nice feature of the property.
The following day, we were exploring the hotel and ended up having some really pleasant conversations with the cleaning staff. The difference in attitude and professionalism between housekeeping and the front desk was night and day. When we asked about getting our room serviced, the cleaner kindly said she wasn’t assigned to our room that day but she would be happy to clean our room, she would just need to check with her manager to see if anyone was assigned to it.
That’s when we met the housekeeping manager, Darrianna, who completely turned our impression around. She was kind, approachable, and genuinely cared about our experience.

I stayed at Delta Hotels Calgary South from October 6th to October 10th, 2025, during a work trip, and it was exactly what I needed after long, exhausting days of meetings. The hotel provided the perfect environment to rest and recharge. My room was comfortable, clean, and organized every day when I returned, which made a huge difference in helping me unwind.
I also took advantage of the 24-hour gym, which was well-equipped and a great way to take care of my health while traveling. It was nice to have that option available at any time.
Overall, the service, cleanliness, and amenities were excellent, and I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Calgary—whether for work or leisure. I’ll definitely be staying here again on future trips!

Stayed here for one night with a large group of 15 people. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. We ordered food to eat at the hotel and the staff provided dishes and opened up the breakfast seating are for us to use. Really appreciated that they took the extra time and effort to accommodate us.
In addition the atrium area with pool was very unique. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Stayed here with my boyfriend and some friends — we had such a great time! The hotel feels cozy and modern, staff were super kind, and the room was spotless. Perfect place to relax after exploring Calgary. Definitely coming back! 💛

I stay in Calgary often to visit family, however have never stayed at Delta Hotel South. This hotel, the staff, the location surpassed my expectations. We stayed here to celebrate my husband's 40th Bday with a group of friends and it was wonderful, best experience in Calgary to date. Thank you Oliver and staff for your hospitality! The rooms and hotel are super modern, have all the amenities you need, a great hotel bar/restaurant, and pools! There's even a friendly little robot that cleans the hallways :) I highly recommend Southlands as well, the restaurant & sports bar that's connected. Amazing staff, lots of screens, and so many games. Honestly this was a trip that we'll remember for life. Couldn't recommend more, and will be coming back.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel to celebrate my 40th birthday. Everything was absolutely perfect — from the stunning room to the impeccable service. I want to especially thank Olivier and the entire staff for making my special day so memorable. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail truly made me feel taken care of. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable experience. I can't wait to come back!
