A major reason we booked this hotel was for the large swimming pool. Unfortunately, it and the pool deck were extremely dirty and not well cared for. Trash, including items as disgusting as floss pickers, littered the pool deck. The tables were dirty and the pool itself had pieces missing. My daughter cut her toe on the loose pool tile and after that I decided we wouldn’t be coming back to the pool during our stay. Considering the heat and how much my daughter loves swimming, this was a disappointing decision but one I thought best for our health and safety.
I still gave it a three out five because if you’re not coming for the pool, the hotel is quite lovely. The cabanas are quiet and along a beautiful path / garden and the location is great for walking into town.
Hotel stinks, bugs everywhere, the facilities are not good either. Food was okay at best at their restaurant, but the pool shouldn’t be accessible. The tiles on the bottom are broken and cracked, and sliced my girlfriend’s foot open not one, not two, but three times. Just from swimming. Hotel gave us no compensation for her injuries, and she should’ve got stitches in her foot but we aren’t sure if medical facilities here are safe enough for the activities we planned to do. The shower has no water pressure. Single spray shower head, fluctuates hot and cold no matter what knob you turned. Rooms didn’t even have fully made beds. The location is alright but there’s better options like the maya bella that actually have nice services and rooms and pool. Staff was nice, but not helpful in the slightest. Will not be staying here again. Stay at the maya bella instead. It’s better in every way.

My family and I visited Midas Resort on Saturday, August 29, 2026, arriving around 1:30pm to use the pool and have lunch. Unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired.
From the start, the welcome at the front desk felt cold and unwelcoming, more like we were being viewed with suspicion than treated as paying guests. We paid for pool access and were given the kids' wristband, but in the end only one member of our group actually got to use the pool.
We were not given a menu and received no service for some time. It was only once hotel guests arrived that staff began attending to tables. When we were finally served, the food itself didn't take long to arrive, but it looked and tasted like it had been reheated rather than freshly prepared.
Given that most of our party never got to use the pool we had paid for, we asked for a partial refund. We were smirked at and told plainly that no refund would be given. When we asked to speak with a manager, we were told there wasn't one available, but that we could leave a message instead.
As a Belizean visiting a resort in my own country, I expected to be treated with basic courtesy and fairness. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here, and the way our concerns were dismissed was more disappointing than the food itself. I'd think carefully before returning.
