A great time spent at this hotel in the heart of Bruges city centre. I enjoyed the historic atmosphere of the hotel and its décor. I appreciated the service of the staff and the boss who advised us on restaurants and took reservations. I enjoyed the sauna and pool. Our dog Mayo also enjoyed the stay in your hotel. In short, I recommend with my eyes closed.

THE BEST HOTEL EVER! Stayed in this hotel for two nights for a surprise early birthday present and from the second I walked in the friendliness of the staff was exceptional Marijke (and the other two girl and man at night) you are a complete credit! From making us a breakfast at 4am to letting us use the pool after it was meant to be closed.

Such a friendly hotel definitely will come back.

We have spent three beautiful days, the room was nice, the personnel was friendly and I have enjoyed the swimming pool and the sauna.

Just come back from an amazing trip away in Bruges. What a place during the winter months. Have to say the trip was made more special by staying in this amazing hotel Die Swaene, staff brilliant, room’s brilliant, breakfast brilliant. Keep up the good work!

Great hospitality. They also helped us when we only had dollars and credit card. Our taxi wanted Euros and exchanges were closed at 6pm. They have beautiful garden restaurant for breakfast. Excellent location, canal facing and we walked everywhere in the town. Canal tour, horse carriage ride, Town square, fine restaurants, museums, chocolate shops — every amazing thing in Bruges is at convenient distance from this store. People at reception were very helpful at all times.

Honestly pay 205 euros a night for a hotel that offers heated pool (rather icy) with sauna (not available obviously), nevertheless a nice room but less beautiful than in pictures. A fan put up but HS. Calm? If we omit the passages of tourists and boats on the canal equipped with loudspeakers, the doors that slam everywhere (bathroom, front door that even get along among neighbors of room), then yes it's quiet.
A floor that needs repairs, both in the bedroom and in the pool.

And icing on the cake after going in the pool (frozen) my partner and I decide to warm up in the bathtub (small bathtub I specify) I climb inside with my 82kg and I am absolutely not reassured of the resistance of it that cracks t slumps. Here's a great adventure at the hotel die Swaene, good luck to you.

Great location just off the two main squares. Just down from the 'Retreivers House' in the movie In Brugge. Very helpful staff, really enjoyed our stay.

Amazingly comfortable, friendliest staff, excellent breakfast. Super accommodating. Arrived late and with no reservations. Conrad was the best!

The building is beautiful and like staying in a part of history. The staff are incredibly helpful and dotting. The AC wasn’t working and we had a mosquito in our room that bit us all night. The bathroom didn’t have proper ventilation, but outside those two things, the place is wonderful.

Great little spot by the canal, we popped in for a quick drink as they had blankets on the chairs and warmers over head. Ending up having a posh dog which was delicious, nibbles came with the drinks and I even randomly won an umbrella with my beer of choice. One of our favourite finds of the weekend.

Great hotel full of character with fantastic ly helpful and friendly staff. As an added bonus there is an indoor heated Japanese themed pool! Great position on the canal near everything you will want to see in Bruges. Would happily stay again.

My room was a museum item in itself with a bed from 1703, antique wardrobe and a huge ancient fireplace. It's not my favorite type of decor (I didn't choose it myself either), but Die Swaene hotel is wonderful — helpful professional staff, central location, nice breakfast buffet with a la carte eggs, and a heated swimming pool in the inner yard.

Lovely hotel with amazing service! We arrived around 10 in the morning and since we'd emailed that we'd been traveling all night, the lovely lady in the reception made sure we got our room early! The room we got was huge, looked like a decadent boudoir with velvet and loads of antiques and we had a view over the canal. Very clean, and super comfy HUGE bed! We felt so welcome and cared for — this is one of the best hotels we've stayed in — and we've travelled across Europe a lot. Would definitely recommend this to anyone staying in Brugge❣️

Excellent location Rooms a little antiquated but view on the canal impregnable!

1) The hotel is good, but the annex is at the top of an old restaurant, which, apparently, still is : the smell of octopus that enfumaient all the floors were stubborn, and we had to sleep with the windows open. And nothing has been done to aerate or stop these fumes/odors. I don't know how they will succeed to make from these smells. 2) The bed should be double, it was in fact 2 single beds.

The best hotel in Europe, we were there years ago but it is my dream to return someday. The staff was very kind and helpful. They were extremely helpful to suggest places to visit and how to get there.

In short, the staff and owners are quick to point the finger at the customer. I was a bit shocked to receive my bill with 80 euro charge for breakfast for two mornings. I expressed my surprise to the staff, who said you should have known since it was disclosed when I booked my hotel. I responded I did not recall, but I also suggested the staff inform me of this charge when showing me the dining room. After paying my bill and later checking Agoda, I realized the staff was lying to me. There is no mention of any charge for breakfast. Following up via email with the staff, again I expressed my displeasure. I informed them that it was not disclosed on agoda as they said. And I also informed them again, the staff did not mention this fact when I checked in. The staff then informed me, that again, it was my fault. That the staff didn't know what Agoda was, so it is not the hotel's fault. They informed me that they disclosed the info, even though my partner and I did not hear this. They told me it was my fault, since there was a "black book" somewhere in my room that I did nor read, that disclosed the charge. So in short, Die Swaene, never makes mistakes or oversights. The customer is to blame. PS… the breakfast wasn't even that good. Go to a hotel that appreciates the customer.
