Stanley Hotel

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Stanley Hotel! The location is simply beautiful, with an awesome view that made it the perfect place to relax and unwind. Our room was very comfortable, spotlessly clean, and had everything we needed for a great stay.
The food was outstanding the surf and turf was to die for and easily one of the best meals we’ve had. The service matched the quality of the food: warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive.
A special shoutout to Max, the publican, who is a top bloke and made us feel right at home. Jo and Harriet were also wonderful, friendly, professional, and a credit to the team.
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great hospitality, amazing food, and a stunning setting!

Awesome place to stay. Rooms are small but all you need is in there. Comfy beds and very clean.
The meals are amazing!. The man that greated me and helped me out when I got there was lovely. Would definitely recommend this place!

Been to Strahan on many occasions, but first time using Stanley Hotels apartments. The twin Pol and Pen are walkable to penguins, the Nut, to food and coffee places.
The two little houses are side by side, and we're quite nicely appointed. Lovely little things in the kitchen like glad wrap and foil and you could make yourself lunch for the day, on multi stays. The fireplace and air-conditioning warm up the house beautifully before retiring. Great laundry facilities.
One negative was the light switches were a bit dirty.
But that said would recommend and stay again.

This is a real find. Right in the centre of town. Great views. Beautifully renovated property. Friendly professional service. Good Aussie bar. Fantastic food at the restaurant. Other options for dinner are available nearby, but I wouldn't bother unless the hotel restaurant is booked out. The rooms are upstairs which may be a challenge for some but we had no problem. Our room was clean, quiet, comfy and had great views in two directions. Plenty of parking available, both on-street and on-street. And the price was very reasonable.

What a beautiful place to stay at. The rooms were so beautiful decorated in keeping with this historical hotel. The bed was so comfortable and luxurious, the bathroom and shower were so beautifully decorated and the shower was fabulous. Walking out into the balcony overlooking the historical Main Street was so very special. There were even lovely comfy relaxing outdoor furniture (table & chairs) on the balcony.
A definite 5 star rating.

Our dining experience here on the both occasions we have been here were second to none. What a fabulous dining experience. The food was so scrumptious and delicious. The mini warm loaf of bread was so delicious along with the selection of butters. The presentation of the food was excellent. The service waiting staff were so attentive and friendly too. Well worth a visit.

I just had probably the best customer service experience in years, Max, and the team were so helpful, and beautifully friendly. The type of experience that makes life feel full. Food is so good and great portions for the price. Can’t recommend enough. Thank you!

Room is comfortable and warm and very clean.
The bed is extremely comfortable.
Had dinner in the bistro every meal that was brought out looked fantastic.
Our meals and drinks were great.
Not forgetting the awesome service from the wait staff they deserve 10 stars.

We stayed just for one night, but it was a pleasant stay. It is decorated like an old house, and feels very vintage. There was a common balcony on the first floor as well. Unfortunately could hear a lot of noise coming from the hallway though.
What was amazing is that you can hear the penguins at night, as you are very close.

Hotel rooms are accessed up a steep, narrow staircase (no lift) like UK accommodations. Room was snug but adequate and well heated. Bathroom was also snug, particularly the shower. Dining was in the Bistro in the basement and had a very good menu and bar service and well trained staff that met any needs required of them. The Hotel seems to also be popular with members of the community.

I had a great stay at the Stanley Hotel near The Nut. The location is absolutely wonderful, with stunning views and easy access to all the highlights of Stanley. You really can’t miss the hotel—it stands out thanks to its distinctive color!
The restaurant was a real highlight of my stay. The steaks were absolutely awesome—perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly across the board, making the whole experience even more enjoyable.
My room was cosy, clean, and comfortable—just what you want after a day exploring the area. All in all, a top-notch place to stay with great food, welcoming service, and a charming setting.

We stayed in Amelia's Cottage which is right beside the beach with a beautiful walkway following the coastline. The one bedroom apartment had everything needed including a washer/dryer to catch up on our washing. Shops were within walking distance and we stopped at some fabulous restaurants, wine bars and tourist sites.

A beautiful hotel with a view of the bay and town. Centrally located, I could walk to everything. Very clean and quiet. If your arriving after 6pm I recommend you make a booking for the Bistro because it was fully booked when I arrived. Stanley is a lovely picturesque seaside town with fabulous old buildings and houses. The Nut excellent.

Great restaurant. Very friendly staff and delicious food. I rated the seafood chowder as the best I had in Tassie. My partner also really rated his Cape Grim steak. The abalone entree was delicious! Highly recommended.

Let’s be clear it’s not a 5 star hotel, but value for money and location it’s 5 star. Very comfortable and clean with pub and restaurant too. We used them both and they were great. Our room was lucky enough to have a massive veranda which had the weather been warmer would have been awesome just overlooking the street.

Who doesn't love Stanley? If it wasn't for the wind and cold, everyone would live there. The pub was good and the food was OK. Our accommodation was outstanding, a minor problem but they did everything they could to make us happy.

We loved our time here at the Stanley Hotel. Front desk staff were friendly enough and it is in a nice central location to the nut, the general store, and hurseys seafood. The room was spacious enough for a couple and we were lucky enough to get a balcony, although it was shared with the next room it was still nice to be able to sit out and watch the road. We were satisfied with our stay.
