Great place to stay wonderful atmosphere and great centeral location in Hobart. Staff are wonderful and always polite.

Amazing place! the staff at very helpful and professional. Imogen, Anna, and Bella are just lovely. The rooms are cosy, bathrooms, and kitchen are clean. One of the best hostels in Hobart.

Stayed here for 4 nights and it was absolutly wonderful! The place was clean and spacious, incredibly comfortable beds and couchs. The kitchen is huge and has heaps of storage. Best backpackers i've stayed at. The staff were so nice and really helpful and just as I left I found out they will be doing tours soon as well!

I stayed here in an all-female dorm for a week. It was a nice experience. Good points: -The staff was quite friendly, but in the final days, the whole ownership changed. The new staff are very young and kinda not very social. Like sometimes when you say hi they won't answer :) ) ) but they are nice and helpful in total. -The bathrooms were always clean. -nice hall -fair price -well equipped kitchen There were some problems: -the bed sheets the gave u is not new and smelly. TG I bring my own! -Ants Ants Ants, loads of ants in the kitchen. I could not leave my grocery out! -furniture in the hall is dusty. Not very clean It was ok!

I stayed at The Nook for 3 nights and felt home! Super friendly staff, great atmosphere and ambience, very clean and tidy and well maintained. If you want to experience home away from home then explore this place.

Hostel is in a great location with easy walking to anywhere in town and most tours picking you up at the door. Staff are so friendly and helpful, rooms are a good size and clean, large kitchen with all the cooking things you could need plus cupboard and fridge/freezer to store food. Plus a free hire car, no catch just a deposit that gets returned and you pay to fill the tank after you use it. Amazing hostel would recommend :)

Everything was great. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Very clean and calm atmosphere. Pool table and Free car hire was a huge bonus. I could not hire a car as I do not have a valid licence but they offer a free car and you can sign up as a passenger! It was really nice to go see different places in Tasmania, especially when it is free. I also got to meet some really nice people to do the day trips with. I highly recommend booking at The Nook. I'll be back!

The Nook Backpackers! What do I say? This is the best place I have stayed by FAR! They hire out a car for FREE to guests! This is incredible, the public transport is pretty bad and tours or car hire is suuuuper expensive. This is such a nice and great thing to offer people. Other than that, the place is super clean and relaxed. Clearly well managed and maintained. Lots of nice places to sit and chill with nice plants all around. There is a nice deck area out the back and a BBQ. Really friendly staff. My bed was very comfortable and I had some rad people in my room. All round great experience. I'll be back Nook!

Fantastic staff, fantastic accommodation. Close to everything, only a 10 minute walk to Salamanca and waterfront and 5 minutes into central city. Friendly and helpful advice given at front desk. Free car hire is absolutely amazing! Never seen anything like it at any backpackers. Just a great place!

Staff are very knowledgable and super helpful. Patrons are quite well-behaved, good-natured folks. The hostel itself is clean (bathrooms included) and well-maintained… within a nice walk of things. At the time of writing, they provide breakfast cereal in the mornings, until 9:30. Baggage storage is available.

Duuuuuude, it’s the best! Amazing, knowledgable staff, clean facilities, fast Wi-Fi, comfy beds, and 5 minutes to all the good ish in town. Best spot in Hobart! Highly recommended.

In addition to the geographical location is OK, the other no advantage parking very little! Next time you don't want to stay.

By far the most messy and dirtiest kitchen I have seen in the last 6 weeks. A bed that was really too short (I'm 1, 82m big) and the 4 bed room was huge! Small.
No footprint for the backpack, no hooks to hang on — not very practical or comfortable.
One night and never again.
The free parking was also full, should put me on the street outside the door, paid for 2h — Unfortunately, the employee did not tell you that you can park up to one hour before. Well, I should have just looked again before I listened to your advice.
A star for breakfast, consisting of yogurt and cornflakes. Sorry, but these rooms are definitely not worth $35.

This was the best backpackers I have seen. The staff were very friendly and helpful, jack even helped me book all tours and plan my trip. The common area was big and clean. Showers were hot and nice. I met many friendly people and friends to keep travelling with. Beds were very comfortable. Wifi was good — upstairs not so good but this is not problem. I had a wonderful stay and will be back! Thank you.

Best hostel ever. Super comfy beds, super friendly staff and so clean. High class place, I thought for the price and seeing some of these rediculous reviews it'd be like any other hostel but it's well above "hostel standard". So impressed and will definitely be back! All these whingers need to go stay in a 5 star hotel by the sounds of it. This place is the bees x.

Típico Hostel near the center and opposite the bus stop to airport and Launceston.

Stained and worn out floor carpets plus stained (dirty? ) shower towels. Yuck! This is not my first hostel experience. I’ve stayed in many other hostels that were a lot cleaner. Mattress is not comfortable. In fact, you can feel the springs. They advertise free Wi-Fi but no signal in bedroom. Last but not least, they require key deposit but if you’re checking out before 8am, there isn’t anybody at reception to process refund for key deposit.

The rooms are clean, the service is good and there is a huge lounge area which is really nice. Close to the city. Only downsides are the Wi-Fi can be spotty (but its free so I don't really mind) and the kitchen is not huge. It has some free parking which is great close to the city.

Quiet relaxing clean hostel, with all the facilities needed. Lovely friendly staff making us feel at home. Jec was awesome in helping us out! Would definitely recommend staying here!

Have stayed at cleaner backpackers. Kitchen: has plenty of food storage, very little bench space, one kitchen tap. Bathrooms: are small, though bathrooms are on each level, hot water didn't get hot but was warm enough. Rooms: Simple and worn. Can hear floors squeak above and in the next room.

Nice backpackers located in the centre of Hobart, only a short walk from most restaurants and shops. Shower facilities were pretty good with hot water and nice water pressure. They also were fine with us making as much noise as we wanted in our rooms. Wi-Fi was weak in the upstairs rooms.

Not sure if I would recommend this hostel to a friend. I stayed in the private room with no heating system, only a small oil column heater. Showers were dirty and it would take a while to get the hot water going through the pipes. It would get cold while having a shower. C'mon guys, that's the minimum you could expect from an accomodation in Tasmania during winter time after a long day hiking in the mountains. It looks like there are people living there as long term accomodation. Good location.

Loved this place! The Nook is like home. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Comfortable beds. Great common areas. Bathrooms and kitchen are clean and easy to use. I highly recommended. I wish I could stay longer! Thanks Nook.

It started nicely with the best receptionist I saw in 7 years world wide travel and a really nice common area and free cafe latte. Then it turned to total horror with a mentally ill chinese woman in the shared room. She yelled at room mates for nothing, told people to sleep outside, rushed to lock the door from the inside, each single time when someone went to the toilet in the night, so they couldnt get back in. When someone opened the door for the locked out guests, she verbally abused them yelling. A bit like in a mental asylum. Thanks my surprise the management was aware of the situation and had several complaints before. I would rather sleep in my car in the future than going there again. The windows rattle in the wind and let in a lot of light during the night.

Nothing but positives here. From the moment I arrived to my departure. The staff. I mean, I've honestly never had more informative and kind people in an accommodation or anywhere really. I dealt with 3 different receptionists and all of them were amazing. The hostel itself. Clean, cosy and easy to use. Big, open common area, easy to use kitchen, clean bathrooms and comfy rooms. What more could you want in a hostel? Oh wait. Free breakfast cereal? they have it. The cleaners seem to be very efficient and observant as this place was always looking tidy. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you go to Hobart, do yourself a favor! Stay at The Nook! It's your REAL home away from home. Jec, Alex and Hannah THANK YOU!

Not a bad hostel, great breakfast options in the morning. Helpful staff (except for one who wouldnt help me with the airporter shuttle). Pros Clean Good location Free breakfast and coffee. Generally nice staff Cons Simple problems such a $10 small inappropriate heater in the coldest state of australia. Lack of warm sheet in addiction to heater. Bad blinds — An easy fix, would make all the difference to a better nights sleep. Most annoying one — No Wi-Fi. If it doesnt reach my room dont advertise Wi-Fi or include it in my fee.

The Nook and the crew running it are the best around. I spent an unexpected amount of time in Hobart due to work and this was home for most of it. Hannah is the shredder who makes your coffee better, Alex is the man with the plan traveling the land kicking up sand, Jec has your back like chiroprac, Nicoletta makes the night time betta, and cant forget Hannah with that soccer stamina. Best hostel experience in Tasmania.

The staff was really nice! All clean, free Wi-Fi and free parking.

The location is pretty good, within walking distance of the centre of Hobart. The room I was in had quite a few people in but it was somewhat divided which helps, although there was only one plug and the beds were very noisy. Also if appreciate a rearing light and a small area to put some things when I'm on the top bunk. The people who work there are very nice and the common areas are good. The Wi-Fi didn't really reach my bed which was pretty annoying.

Not a lot to say just becarfull with the manager she is kind of emotional and she is not able to manage an hostel and don't take a situation to personal. She thinks manage an hostel is like manage a attraction parc. Anyway the staff there is wonderfull the only probleme is the manager of the hostel really agressive people and not honest at all.

Very bad accomodation, the facilities are old, it's very dirty, the managers and stuff are not friendly and they like to insult you for no reason. The atmosphere is very uncomfortable and not a backpackers that you should stay in.

For my first time in Hobart, I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! It's in a really convenient location. Staff are friendly and accommodating. The place is cozy, has a massive kitchen, and super clean. Plus, they have an awesome outdoor space. Doesn't get better than that! Also, shoutout to Jesse at the Front Desk-He's super rad and gave me some great recommendations for Hobart!
