Stayed at Hamlet Downs last Sunday for the night while me and my partner were travelling Tasmania. The host Jen was incredible and the cottage was so cozy. I had the best night sleep in there and the dinner and breakfast Jen made was fantastic! Definitely recommend this place to anyone!

We enjoyed three nights at Hamlet Downs. Jenifa is a brilliant host and provided beautiful breakfast and dinner meals. The property is in a stunning location and we were fortunate to spot the resident platypuses in the property dams. It is a short drive to Mt. Field National Park with beautiful walks to Russel and Horseshoe Falls. The drive to Lake Dobson is well worth it for the walk around the lake. We highly recommend Hamlet Downs as the place to stay in the area.

Baz and I stayed there last night and it was just so beautiful. Our meals were wonderful, the walk around the property was fabulous and yes Baz saw the platypus and this morning we had the most spectacular sunrise. Jennifer could not have been nicer.

I booked a night in the Hamlet room for my partners birthday. We had such a lovely time. Jenifa was really friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful with a wonderful fireplace. And the walk around the farm was magical. We even spotted a platypus.

Lovely wholesome home cooked meals. But need to book early in the day.

Spent the last 2 days here and can honestly say that Jenifa is an amazing host.
The perfect blend of caring for ours needs without hovering and combined with great conversation to make us feel welcomed has made this a perfect 2 days. Not to mention, she is an excellent cook! The proximity to Mt Field National Park and Lake Dobson and Jenifa’s hospitality has ensured our stay Hamlet Downs Country Accommodation is one which will be long remembered for all the right reasons. … Darren and Hien.

Accommodation is cosy, although the kids find it creepy as it is old and has old photos and dolls of the owner.

Great country house. Jenifa is a very good cook and made sure were all well fed. Definitely recommend the cooked dinner option.

I stayed at Hamlet Downs for a Yoga Retreat Jenifa organised.
I had the most wonderful time. The yoga we did in a small group was great and my stay was so cozy and Jenifa was a great host making us all feel very welcome.
She also cooked us the most delicious food, I especially loved her verity of Home made bread.
Was exactly the escape away I needed.

Wonderful warm greetings from Hostess and her loving dogs and cat loved the fact you could interact with them The cottage was delightful lovely — — with little art deco to catch the eye — — angel doorstops — — — — flying birds on wall The homemade chicken soup was a balm to one's very sore throat Thank you for all of your thoughtfullness High recommendatiin.

We stayed in a cosy, comfortable Hamlet suite with spacious living rooms and well equipped kitchen with a well stocked beer and wine selection. This gem was in a tranquil garden and bushland setting not far from Russell Falls.
Jenifa warmly welcomed us and treated us to a superb 3 course dinner with a prawn and avocado entree then a baked herb crusted salmon, a delicious highlight cooked to perfection, finishing with a rhubarb and hazelnut pie
Our stay was too short so we will definitely return.

Hamlet Downs was a quiet rural location and provided everything we required. Jenifa was a fantastic host and provided us with a home cooked evening meal at a small cost. The heating throughout the cottage was great and the bed was extremely comfortable. Little extra touches helped to provide a very enjoyable stay. We took an early morning frosty walk around the property to look for the elusive platypus, but to no avail. But a great walk through pastures, llamas, cattle and ponds. The accommodation is very close to Mount Field National Park which is also worth a visit!

Only stayed one night, wished we were there longer! Amazing gardens, accommodation and wonderful home cooked meals with a wine and beer! Jennifer was a wonderful hostess and made us feel very much at home. Also, the furry friends dog and cat came and greeted us when we arrived.

Absolutely gorgeous and wonderful abode. I wish we could have stayed for longer. Hosts were kind and accommodating, food was delicious, rooms were cosy and the area is wonderful to explore. Anyone wondering whether they should stay here or not — I would highly recommend them!

Absolutely the best experience ever. Your host is amazingly lovely, so very kind and thoughtful. Nothing was too much trouble for Jen. The property is amazing. The meals Jen provides are superb and your little furry visitors are so lovely too. I cannot rate this property or experience high enough.

Hamlet Downs is a beautiful retreat in the countryside of Tassie. The views are magic, our host friendly & a fabulous cook … the food was amazing, the accommodation cosy & unforgettable. Everything about Hamlet Downs was better than we could have hoped for. If you want to be spoilt add it to your travel itinerary. We'll definitely be back.

Australia is a very good country their gouverment and their beautiful parks and their national services.

Friendly staff, good countryish location. Free berry picking and Wi-Fi. Most minibar prices good. Stayed in nice large two bedroom accomodation.

I have been stay alone, but it was the best accomodation that I ever have including World Traveling. Amazing food and beverage! Comfortable rooms with great design and real home atmosphere. Great onwers. Strongly recommended! I plan to back in September 2008 :).
