Had a fabulous lunch today! Definitely recommend to others. Staff very friendly and food was yummy 😃

Great food! Value for money, kids playground, pool table. Enough for whole family to enjoy. Kids eat for just $3 on Tuesday and Thursdays. Main meal and drink was $17😃

Great new fresh look, we were lucky enough to try the new menu coming in a couple of weeks. The salmon dish and the t-bone were brilliant.

Good wholesome food and very friendly and helpful staff!

Service was lovely and the rump steak was great — cooked to perfection as ordered.
Roast of the day was a bit chewy with gristle but decent value for price.
Kids meals and desserts were good value.
Would recommend for a simple and enjoyable night out for a counter meal.

Worst place never ever eat from this place food is terrible it's beyond terrible the staff are wonderful tho just the management needs to pick it's game up big time.

Second time here and the staff are friendly and the owners are happy to stop and chat. Food is fantastic and delicious and a great price. Would highly recommend.

Great spot and friendly bar staff plus awesome food on menu, I would recommend the royal for a nice feed anytime.

Popped in for lunch today. Waited for around 50 minutes for our meals to come out and it wasn't even busy. While the food was nice enough it really wasn't value for money. If you plan on going here just make sure you allow plenty of time!

A huge “Thank You” to Burnie, his gorgeous wife and the crew at the Royal, we have been welcomed in and made to feel like we are sitting in our own homes. The service is exceptional and the staff go out of their way to make the Military Brotherhood feel so comfortable there. The tucker is great and the Chicken Schnitzels have to be the best in town. Today I had the Barra and it hung off both sides of the plate. These guys are super friendly and even more so to our veteran community. Thanks again to everyone and I am looking forward to coming back every week.

Not a fan at all, staff aren’t very professional, drink prices are ridiculous and no entertainment.

Most inviting pub in Gympie! Friendly staff who are always willing to go above and beyond for me. Very relaxing place to go for some drinks and a nice meal. Wouldn’t go anywhere else, happy they came to Gympie!

Very nice quiet lounge bar with comfortable lounges to relax in. BarmId was very friendly & Coronas were the right price. They have a very nice looking Restaurant attached with a fairly basic menu. Recommended.

Service nice, rooms good. Loud music until 2am with little kids not appreciated. We were warned about the music but were told we were at the quiet end of the hotel, I'd hate to hear the loud end! Could have been playing right beside the bed, that's how loud it was! Getting in and out were a problem also and parking is non existant.

OMG I love this place, awesome ladies, awesome accommodation, awesome food. Actually the best Chicken Kiev I've ever had in 3 continents.

The place is really accomodating. The beds are extremely comfy and they have big hot showers. I stayed in 2 different rooms saw 2 others, they were all held at the same standard. The restauraunt downstairs and the bar is amazing. Great food.

Staff are brilliant. Room for two are a bit too small as I see and the room for three is pretty good. Have to try out their food, you would definitely be amazed!

Good hotel, very friendly staff, good food. The rooms are cleaned daily. I would say it could do with more equipment inside the room that a basic hotel has such as microwave, cutlery set and ironing board.

Great food. Yummy twist on a Pad Thai — lots of options for people with dietary requirements — vegan, gluten free etc.

Went here last Friday evening for a birthday celebration. The restaurant was not busy and after looking at the A4 piece of paper which was the menu decided to order the lamb cutlets to which I was advised there were none. Feeling disappointed I then ordered the chicken schnitzel which came out over cooked and very dark which sadly was quite tough and dry. Overall experience was quite disappointing and will not be returning for meals.

I haven't eaten here in a long while as it was too loud a place for me. Not the case tonight. Quick service, good food food and well priced.

Me and my friend were supposed to go to Rainbow Beach tonight, but due to the flooding we were stranded in Gympie tonight. At first we thought we’ve been cursed but as soon as we walked into “The Royal Hotel” we felt very optimistic again. After a quick chat to the nice guy behind the bar, Mackenzie sorted us out immediately. We’ve got a nice room for a nice price and we are enjoying a nice meal in the pub below. Cheers for being awesome Mackenzie!

What a great night! The biggest thank you to The Royal. I arrived to a surprise Birthday dinner last night. There was table of 20 with my family and friends waiting. Being such a large group The Royal's new system worked perfectly, where they took order's at your table and you pay as you leave. What a fantastic idea! Everyone's meal came out at the same time and was delicious. A big thank you again to Stacey, Linc, Mackenzie, Emerson and all the staff. You made my Birthday the best ever! ❤❤

Great atmosphere, modern design and table settings within the building, excellent number and variety of menu options (food and drinks), delicious high quality food, and highly friendly staff. The only negative is the waiting times for food, as I had to wait nearly 40min for me and my friends to get food after I ordered it… Overall the place is terrific but the waiting times have to improve before I become a frequent customer.

Booking in to stay the night was friendly enough. We actually went here for a private function but was disgusted to find that the smoking area was right beside the pool table area. When we quizzed about why are people smoking inside we were simply told that due to the roof it was classified as outside this was simply not true it was a closed in bar at the front and it was a closed in area at the back with a pool table in between and smoking was about 3 m from the pool table area it was not outside there was clearly a roof over the top absolutely disgusting if you're a non smoker and against the law as your not supposed to smoke within 5 metres of a building. Personally would never stay here or go here again.

So clean and comfortable. However, very narrow space of car park and people just don't care of other people's cars and ding the doors. It was a very dissapointing time.

Had the speical curry — was great — good kids area, friendly staff and Rogers Little Creatures on Tap — enjoyed. Note Kids eat free on Monday and Wednesday nights and booking is a good idea on these nights.

The food is wonderful, their cocktail menu is great, and the atmosphere is usually pretty good. But they don't make the bullfighter cocktails right. Only Jess Sertic made them right.

Nice little hotel. Got a U-Bet. And the teller was very helpful and I take it the beers cold.

Went in for breakfast and it was amazing. Best feed I've had in a long time. And staff were so friendly. Will definitely go back and recommend!

Been twice. Both times my kiev was burnt and tasted like charcoal. Waited well over an hour for our meal. Chips and gravy were good though.

The food was large and tasty. The staff were friendly and the dining area was clean. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

The royal was a great place to visit with friends, the food and customer service was great and really enjoyed myself.

Dessert was great, chips and sides were good, steaks were a bit hard done by. Friendly staff though.

What a great find. The recently renovated Royal Hotel, is located in the main shopping area on Mary Street and has been named the Best Boutique Accommodation Hotel and Best New Business in Gympie. The new appointments include, 11 upmarket rooms with ensuites, Rascal's award winning Restaurant, relaxing modern lounge bar. We dined in the restaurant, an excellent choice, a French Chef, a new menu, prepared to perfection. Must return.
