Nice hotel very cozy. But one thing which you should not miss about this hotel is there seafood buffet dinner in there restaurant at the ground floor. This hotel is located right above the railway station and is very convenient.

A good selection of excellent food at Thyme2. We walked in and were treated excellently. Staff were kind and courteous and the setting was very regal. Overall a good place for a business lunch or a special occasion.

Great service. Awesome central location and train underneath Hotel direct from airport. Rooms nice but could do with a bit of a refresh. Staff first class.

Went to Thyme2. Not that great to be honest. The variety is very limited and the food not that exciting. Dessert section particularly disappointing. It's such a shame because the last time I went maybe 10 years ago it was exceptional. Things have REALLY gone downhill. Oh, and if you're having a special occasion they will commemorate it by taking chocolates FROM the buffet table and putting them in a box as a gift. Idk. It really isn't special anymore. DEFINITELY not worth $80 a head and $20 for parking. Save yourself the effort, go get a 3 course meal somewhere else.

Wow. I booked a Mother’s Day package for my wife which turned out to be the best hotel experience I’ve ever had anywhere in the world. Prue checked us in, made special arrangements for our evening dinner at Aria and also organised for us to be chauffeured from Sofitel to Aria and back again afterwards. When we got back to the room, a huge bunch of flowers had been delivered with a personal card from Prue. We also had bottle of sparkling delivered as a gift. The room was amazing and we had the best nights sleep (sans children of course). I could not fault a single element of our stay at the Sofitel and I highly recommend! Prue and Sofitel made us feel like the most important people staying with them. Thank you.

Quite a nice place but rooms are starting to feel a bit dated. I’ve never had a great night sleep here, the king beds are just two twins pushed together and you can feel the curves created by all the bodies that be slept there before you. The air con is also quite drying and noticeable when you sleep.

Great hotel, nice bar. A little dated but still very nice with 5* service. Pool in shadows of buildings by late morning.

Attended a high tea there this afternoon and was not impressed about the service. The young girl that was serving for the whole area was very nice and polite, however due to the lack of staff our table never got cleared of the 2, 3 tier cake stands, which made it difficult to speak/see the person on the over side of the table. While the food was nice, it wasn't worth the amount of money paid. When having a high tea at a 'luxury' hotel I would expect to have service, food and tea/coffee at a higher standard than what was experienced this afternoon.

I have been visiting Sofitel for years, as a guest and as a contractor for wedding hair and makeup. The front desk, bar and concierge staff are always absolutely lovely and welcoming. The suites are always immaculate and very modern. I can't recommend more highly, a wonderful hotel and fantastic hotel for work or a getaway.

Loved this hotel. Direct access from the train station makes it exceptionally convinient for travellers. Staff are attentive and personable, rooms are clean and well decorated. Lounge was fantastic. Food was great. Definitely living up to the sofitel brand. I would be back.

Last minute walk in booking because my flight was cancelled and I was grounded in Brisbane for another night. The service from front desk check in to out was superb and despite the odd hours and last minute requests, I was always treated well. Thank you Sofitel… or is it Merci?

Sofitel Brisbane is a completely different level of luxury and service from the moment you walk into the foyer. We arrived without a booking after leaving Marriott and walking to Sofitel Josh in reception showed us available suites and assisted us in getting checked in and settled into The Opera Suite. Josh even organised concierge to drive my wife to collect our bags. The Opera Suite is the size of three standard rooms and has an awesome bathroom with a large round bath, an amazing amount of other features like automatic lighting and blackout blinds, two TVs lounges and King Size bed. The suites also include access to Club Sofitel Lounge on the top level where the service continues with food, drinks and fully cooked breakfast in a private lounge. The Opera Suite 2819 is an experience well worth the cost and we will be doing it again. Thanks to Josh and all the fantastic and extremely professional staff for saving our Easter.

Great hotel, nice and clean rooms and very good service. Rooms are nice and big, sheets are clean and the bed is very comfortable! Will definitely be back next time!

The Sofitel Brisbane is a lovely luxury hotel in a very central location. Super comfy beds and pillows. Emily at reception is amazing! After getting me late check out until 2pm she found me waiting in the lobby (its 6 hours till my flight) and offered to bring me tea. Can’t beat that for customer service!

Stay a night here for my 10yrs anniversary, got a really warm welcoming from the receptionist. As soon as we enter the room, received a champagne, choc cake and a hand — writing letter from the hotel manager. Got a upgrade of the room. Make me feel very special, perfect memories. Thank you the team of Sofitel.

Staff are great! Very friendly and helpful. The bed and pillows were a little soft but alright. Great for food.

Overall great hotel! Very friendly and competent service. Nice rooms and club Lounge has a really good spread and amazing views! Breakfast in the main restaurant is extensive and most products of decent quality, but very pricy.

Easy parking, lovely greeting, quick and caring customer service, nice pool, simple but quiet rooms, fantastic food (had the seafood buffet, included sand crab, mud crab, oysters, prawns, mussels and bugs! ). Breakfast was great too (included champagne). Overall one of my favourite stays in Brisbane city.

Myself and my family (of 8 adults) come and spend Christmas at the Sofitel every year. So 4 x 2 nights accom and lunch 8 x $270. Not to mention the yearly bar tab for both nights x 8 people. This year the standard is so low I will not be returning again. Bar staff rude! Especially the lady with short curly hair and the younger guy. The only man who is 5-star standard every year is the Middle Ages half balding guy who knows a lot about wine. He is absolutely amazing. However the standard is so low this year. Not even a Christmas tree in the lobby! That's insane. Anyway the bar staff were appalling from the minute we got here. I will never be rerunning to the Sofitel again.

Called into the Sofitel this afternoon for a pot of tea. Exhausted and wanted a rest before going home. I had the pleasure of a young man named Emanuel to serve me. What a delight. The most beautiful smile, gentle, caring and so professional. Wow. We need more like Emanuel. Thank you for your understanding Emanuel.

I am a big fan of the bar downstairs in the foyer. It is a very chilled place to relax over a cocktail or a beer and enjoy the view on the comfy chairs looking out towards the city. I've always found the staff to be very courteous and professional and helpful.

The Sofitel is a beautifully maintained hotel conveniently located in the Brisbane CBD, literally on top of central train station. It had fantastic views of the city as it is on the fringe, poised up high, making the most of the view with windows all along the southern side. The service is high quality as you would expect from a Sofitel. I have been there only for functions and my experiences have always been positive.

Buffet feeling good, the dishes are quite many, the dishes collect very fast, the price is not very expensive, Sunday to Thursday night are 801 people.

A special evening for a birthday celebration with a table with a view. Really good seafood and reasonably priced using our accor two for one privileges. Our waiter Samuel was most helpful and must be commended. He even presented the birthday boy with a small box of chocolates. Only down side was it was so busy it took a while for the plates to be cleared.

Excellent location. It's so close to everything downtown and the central rail station. Room was amazing. Big comfy bed with a quiet atmosphere. Enjoyed the hot tub by their in-house spa. Only slight letdown was the restaurant. Food was average and a bit overpriced.

Buffet is awesome. Expensive on the big nights but worth every penny, though desserts usually suck. Attentive staff and a cool vibe with the atmosphere. Rated A.

Nice rooms. Very comfortable bed. Pillow menu. Charged for nearly all English cable channels, yet an over supply of free Arab channels. Disappointing. Excellent dinner, lunch and breakfast buffets. Friendly competent staff.

Professional and courteous staff and has the best hotel buffet breakfast I've ever had. Rooms are always immaculate and tidy and each time I have been upgraded if they were able to due to it being a special occasion for us. Locality is key, being above central station is great, we used the train to travel to Milton for a game at Suncorp.

My girlfriend and I had the buffet dinner at thyme2 last night to celebrate our special date. The buffet in general was alright. Fairly wide range of food. Very satisfied with the roast last night. (It was so great that my girlfriend went back and had a second round of it) we had plenty of oysters. They were pretty good except for a few where it kinda taste a little bitter. After all it was a not bad experience.

I live in a suite and the room is very spacious. The toilet feels general, the smell of sewer will come to feel very bad when bathing. The scenery is general. It's highly recommended that you don't go to the buffet. That's the worst I've ever had.

The buffet was great. Huge range of desserts and seafood. Great table service and atmosphere. Will go definitely go again. Across the road has $5 parking. Very convenient.

We went to the Sofitel for dinner at their restaurant Thyme2 — parking was easy as there is street parking along the road and also a parking complex opposite. We had a very friendly and attentive staff member looking after our table. He made an effort to make us feel welcome and even remembered us from a previous visit to the restaurant.

This hotel is near the central station and has access to the station by escalators. It is across the anzac square and very close to almost everything. 10 min walk to queen park mall, and other attractions in Brisbane. The rooms were good. Take higher floors to get some view of the city. The staff were very accommodating. So far, with 2 kids below 5, it's been pleasant for us.

A very pleasant environment. The food was delicious and had a nice variety of seafood and meat, it was a spectacular layout for dining. I liked having the buffet with my family here and I won't mind coming here again because the staff was welcoming and always tending to your refills. And thank you kind waiter for the chocolate box and the cake before we left.

I was invited for dinner at the Digital for a friend's birthday and from the time the doorman opened my taxi door the service was excellent. The restaurants staff were very obliging and warm without any air of pretention that often comes with a restaurant of this caliber. The food was delicious and well presented. Over all it was a really good experience.

We had a 4 course degustation dinner at the Prive, service was intimate. Great ambience and exceptional food. Will definitely return.

My husband and I arrived at the Sofitel yesterday to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We had booked a very budget friendly room :-) … then the lovely man proceeded to upgrade our room to a luxury room and give us a late checkout, then he was like … "No actually we have a beautiful suite available so we’ll put you in there and that has access to the Club lounge" then he asked if we like chocolates and champagne. I was in tears by that time … and he was like … "I’ll just send them up to your room, which is on the 27th floor with a magnificent view to the city". We are soooo incredibly blessed and so incredibly thankful for the wonderfully generous people at the Sofitel who made our anniversary SUPER special. Thank you SO MUCH!

Beautiful, and a very convenient spot, if you are new in Brisbane and straight from the airport on airtrain to central station and you are there, easy. Service good and staff. Buffet at the restaurant beautiful. I you grab a member card have a good discount as well.

A very well presented and professional hotel. From a casual business meeting and coffee to dinner, accomodation and functions. Location is great for train commuters. Highly recommended.

Decent enough venue for a large conference. Did have a waitress drop a whole tray of drinks on me at the end of her 10 hour shift. These things happen I guess…

Stayed for 2 nights with access to the club level. Was an amazing experience. Staff were great and more then happy to help with anything. Would recommend this to anyone.

We had an amazing time when me and my partner went for the buffet dinner on the 06th of april 2016. Myself and my partner went for our 10th year anniversary and had the most amazing experience. Atmosphere is wonderful there, the function rooms are great, the staff were great to deal with, ammenities nice and clean and well maintained, and the food… OH THE FOOD! Well done Sofitel the food was amazing :)

A nice hotel with helpful staff and good food but nothing is included and everything is expensive. $29.95 for 2GB/24hr of internet in 2016 is ridiculous.

Excellent hotel. Service was excellent. Breakfast was excellent as always, although I've noticed it isn't as extensive than it used to be.

I can't comment on the accommodation aspect as I have not stayed here. I have been to the Thyme 2 restaurant and have been impressed on both occasions. Good deals to be had if you're an Accor loyalty member.

I love the breakfast buffet (you can come and dine without staying the night). Otherwise it's just like all sofitel hotels; brilliant service and lovely rooms at a moderately high price.

My Mother and I attended this luxurious Hotel for the Wednesday Smorgasbord lunch prior to Melbourne cup. Apart from the wonderful convenience of being able to just step off the train then literally straight into this Hotel, the service here is impeccable! I look forward to returning!

Sofitel is a stunning hotel, located right in the heart of the CBD. The room that I stayed in was beautiful. Elegant, modern with chicness and plenty of style. The service at the hotel was impeccable. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

Great Hotel. Positioning above the central train station is handy, they look after their platinum members and the hotel buffet is also available.

Loved every minute especially the club breakfast can't wait to return very soon.

We were very disappointed with the breakfast buffet, it is nothing like the lunchtime buffet which is excellent Tim and Ruth Harper.

Hard to beat the quality of this hotel, the food is as good as any five star hotel in the world.

Stayed here with my wife for two nights while attending a work conference. The rooms are well appointed, quiet and roomy. The staff have been pleasant. Highly recommended as an upmarket, classy hotel. Thanks Sofitel you did not disappoint.

We had a wonderful stay at Sofitel, the staff were amazing and the customer service was impossible to fault. Our room was modern yet luxurious with a super-plush bed and lovely furnishings. The AC was a bit old, but that was a minor kink in an otherwise great stay. The in-room breakfast was tasty and the serving size generous, we even received complimentary detox juices. Great location, we stepped out right into Brisbane's CBD and explored. Thanks for a great evening.

We celebrated Christmas dinner in the evening. Couldn't fault the service by the table staff, nor the table settings. But the food, though tasty, was not as plentiful nor diverse as I would have liked. But the idea of having other people prepare and serve our table on Christmas Day certainly appeals. Thank You. Fantastic service: friendly but professional, informative but not pushy or condescending. Genuine right down to the French lady at check in. Pity the constant 'Bonjour's from the other staff didn't sound as good, but stop best customer service I've had from hotel in a while! Location was perfect: right on top of central station and short walk to mall with plenty of food, shopping and entertainment nearby. Room was slightly dated but immaculately presented. Food in restaurant and as room service was delicious. Snagged this stay as mystery wotif deal — best we've had yet.

Thyme is a great restaurnat these guys have, bathroom is a bit old but its not bad, it should be considered as 4 — 4.5 stars.

So we went for dinner. Really nice staff, as one would expect. $69 pp for the buffet, including our 15 year old son. Wouldn't have classed him as an adult, but yeah I suppose. He did eat alot more than I did. :) On to the food. When we first walked in I thought it looked awesome, plenty of choices, both hot and cold, plus seafood (oysters, mussels, and prawns) Unfortunately that's where the pleasure stopped. Normally I would inhale numerous oysters. 20-30 easily. I had about 4 of theirs, the first 2 were. Ok, then the next one tasted funny, not the sweet fresh flavour one would expect but actually quite bad. Didn't eat another but smelt it instead. It smelt bad. Informed staff who took it to the chefs. I got up a few minutes later to see them take both trays of oysters out the back. Staff returned a short time later with more. I grabbed some more thinking sweet, fresh ones. But no. Not as bad, but I would say atleast couple of days in the fridge. Ok not a deal breaker as there was plenty of other things to eat, and seafood can be hit and miss anywhere you go. So I had some roast pork, cucumber and capsicum. Halfway through, found a strip of plastic in amongst the pork. A good cm wide and at least 8 cm long. That was it for me unfortunately. Quite embarrassed at this stage and feeling like a serial complainer, again informed staff. Apologetic was the matre'd, and said the manager would come and see me, but didn't.

Nice rooms with space, and great views. What impressed me the most though was the staff — all of whom engaged in seemingly genuinely interested conversation without being either obsequious or disinterested. Some of the best customer service I've come across.

Can't recommend this hotel at these prices. The hotel is very dated and tired. The rooms definitely need a makeover. We were staying in a $320 night room which was in need of modernising. Fan in bathroom not working, noisy fridge, dirty windows, leaky shower. The staff however are excellent so the fault lies with sofitel. The food is also over priced and your much better grabbing breakfast at coffee club. I haven't stayed elsewhere in brisbane but I think you pay a premium as it's a central location. I would get a more modern hotel next time and wait for sofitel to update this tired hotel.

Here 2 days and after reading in the Virgin Australia flight magazine about the lounge on the 30th floor I upgraded for 50 bucks. Great value and truly spectacular a whole half floor side to side dedicated to the lounge and such fabulous service. The room although a club room was at the bottom of what I would expect in this price range and given prices in Australia for hotels are ridiculous you might be disappointed, if coming from abroad. I hate stand in the bath showers, and the bathroom was pokey small, no complimentary water in the room (Brisbane tap water is disgusting), the windows were filthy on the outside detracting from the view. Can't fault the service. Staff very attentive.
