Room was nice, however the showers were a bit filthy, but the service was really good. Overall it was a pretty good place.

The bathrooms are filthy and unhygienic. Our room did not even have a window and was extremly tiny. The breakfast was okay the service was great.

It wasn't too bad, a lot of Asian culture which is nice to see. People were friendly and accommodating and there was easy access to enough to keep you from having to travel to the Canberra city.

Horrible place very dirty and lots of thing were out of order. Food was discussing big holes in roof rooms are tiny. Our rooms window didn't close and no curtains. Air-con was leaking and it was boiling hot. Do not recommend staying here and will not be coming back!

Some confusion with our booking as their website wasn't up to date and we ended up booking a room that wasn't available for the wrong price as well. It ended up being sorted out at no extra cost. Male bathroom is incredible dirty and had a significant smell of damp and mould. Bed was comfortable and rooms were clean and quiet.

I loved the service especially the KFC. The parking was no problem even in busy night on Saturdays.

Formerly known as Dickson backpackers. Was comfortable enough for an overnight stay. Continental Breakfast was included. Toilets and beds were clean.

Well located with plenty of food options nearby. Free breakfast in the morning is really nice and no problems with the rooms or facilities.

Staff are friendly. Checked in a little early but they were willing to make up my room first. The room was clean with air-conditioning. A kitchen is available to all guests to use. A basic breakfast is also included; a selection of cereals, milk, orange juice, toast and some spreads. The only downside is the (mens) toilets were a bit unclean with mold on the ceilings and showers with a dirty floor and lack of hooks for towels. One of the shower doors also didn't lock properly. Other than that, this hostel is located in a convenient location, with many shops around and a short bus trip to the city. Would stay here again.

Best hostel of Canberra, so far.

Like any hostel, the beds are standard, the kitchen is better than most and it has a nice living area to meet people. What really makes this place great is the staff. They are so friendly, I even asked to book a taxi and the guy drove me in instead. Would recommend!

High quality accommodation for the price, awesome location and they include breakfast! — I will be staying again!

The place has been recently renovated and resembles a small upmarket hotel with new furniture and artworks on the walls. A welcoming reception area, clean as a whistle and breakfast included. We paid $35 each for a bed intending to stay for 1 night but stayed for 2. The new owner are really trying hard to clean wipe away the negative reviews of the past, this place is nothing like those reviews!

For the not too fuzzy traveller with a budget. Staff are pretty helpful. Sure, could do with some minor repairs but for $35 a night which includes breakfast, a warm quiet bunk bed, Wi-Fi, secure, central to amenitoes and 24 hours access, u are not going to get a better deal. Recommended. Quick tip : be polite and keep to yourself.

Free wireless and free washing, friendly staff. Good place for $200 a week.

Too many person ~ not appropriate for girls to live ~ noisy, I could not sleep all night because the roommate snoring.

Bit of a dump. Cheapest option in town. When we stayed there were 20 or so Chinese foreign workers staying in the place who had overrun the place. Needless to say, the ambience was a little weird.

Good vaul for money. Good place to stay.

I paid $88 a night and was in a room with no windows, a funny smell and marginal clenliness. The host, Deb, was friendly and helpful and doing her best but it's a bit dingy, smelly, and not where I'd choose to stay again in a hurry. Of course there's all shared amenities and shared tv, fridge etc. I've stayed in a place in Barton for $77 a night with tv, desk, fridge, tea and coffee, ensuite and I'd go there ANYTIME over Dickson's Backpackers. It's pretty noisy and not a great sleep sleeping on bunk beds, nor not having any fresh air in your room. So be warned.

Sure, the room was really stuffy with no ventilation, but the facilities were clean and the staff really friendly and accomodating. For $30 a night it's not a bad option.
