Booked room when we got there it small dirty and stuffy with no air con. Only went into the room for 15 mins and wouldn’t give money back. Would not recommend.

Good location, friendly staff and value for money.

As a wheat intolerant vegetarian, there was little on offer food-wise for dinner. I paid for breakfast and asked for a hot breakfast which was stone cold. Room was fine and staff were friendly.

Took $101 cancellation fee from my credit card and refused to refund as they blamed Hotels. Com yet The Pavilion charged the $101 to my credit card. Have stayed here multiple times for business trips. We will never stay here again and certainly do not recommend this venue to stay after this very unpleasant experience.

Stayed 13/2/21, arrived at 5:30pm.
Room was about 30 degrees when I arrived, air con highly ineffective.
Even with ac set on 4 (lowest setting) it was totally ineffective
I had to have the window open to catch a breeze, reception bought me a noisy desk fan & told me the 30 degree room was normal.
Room was somewhat unclean with old info booklets that were water damaged sitting around, I cleaned TV remote with a wipe & the dirt & grime that came off it was stunning. Also, it didn’t work & the battery case kept falling off, they bought me new batteries & then it worked but kept falling apart.
No minibar at all only coffee/tea provisions, no water in the fridge, tried to room service some bottled water, which still had not arrived 45 minutes later so I just went to the bar & got it myself.
No wine glasses in the room at all.
Online/website room service menu is fictional, a severely cut down room service menu list is in the room.
Ordered a cheeseburger & Korean fried chicken, the chicken was so dry it was like trying to eat yarn, the burger was extremely thick & very dry, like trying to eat cardboard.
The bed in my ‘deluxe room’ was two singles pushed together, not comfortable at all as they started to separate just from me sitting on the bed & the beds were differing heights, there was also another single bed in the room. There were no doona covers on either bed, just a bare doona sandwiched between 2 sheets.

Absolutely recommend this hotel, super friendly staff, excellent service, awesome food.
They have trees and plants in the middle of the hotel. How cool is that? We are definitely going back again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Worst stay ever!
cement double bed with a plastic spa for $170 for one night stay!
a huge stuff around with deposit,
a 1 hr wait on our dinner that we weren't told there will be a wait,
for them to put pepper seeds on all of our half cooked vegetables without asking, when there is salt and pepper on the table, the menu did not state vegetables come with pepper seeds.
this place is horrible, highly recommend do not stay here.
The manager is hopeless not getting anywhere with them.

They are a great place to stay. Within easy reach of most of the city. Last time we stayed they gave us a free upgrade.

Great place to stay — loved the indoor garden — food excellent — light rail just outside the door meant we did not need to drive at all during our three day visit!

We have stayed at Pavilion on Northbourne for three nights, one each week for three weeks. At each time the staff were really helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. We enjoyed our breakfast in the restaurant and had pre dinner drinks at the bar before catching the light rail out the front and going into the City for dinner. It was great to not have to worry about parking, have a wine with dinner and travel back to the hotel on the light rail which stops almost at the front door. I would recommend this hotel to everyone and we will always stay here whenever we stay in the ACT. We especially like “ deal of the day”. What a great idea.

This was my 4th stay & as always it is just a wonderful place with happy friendly staff, an awesome breakfast buffet & amazing Concierge etc.
We will be back again.

Friendly service, relaxed atmosphere and surprisingly stylish and functional rooms. Quite a surprise for the price. Location too is perfect for all that we want to do.

We found this to be an excellent hotel. The food is good and well priced, the amenities excellent and the staff friendly. The new light rail has a stop at the door making it a very convenient stay.

Clean rooms, great bedding, very friendly staff at check in. We were on the 3rd floor which was great as it was quiet and away from the busy restaurant on the ground floor.

I travel to the ACT quite often & what appealed to me was the images online of the food & atrium. Where to even start! The in room fan (not an aircon) cannot be turned off, woke every morning dried out & dehydrated, used tape in attempt to cover it. The food was terrible every night of my 4 night stay, over cooked steak (I think the mushroom gravy was made with dehydrated mushrooms) & took over an hour & half to arrive, couldn’t even get a chicken schnitzel right! No mini bar (however there is vending machines at reception, not ideal for claiming when traveling for work purposes). After my first night of leaving my uneaten room service at the door I tried the overpriced breakfast buffet, which was limited to say the least, no hot breakfast options, unless you include toast as a hot breakfast). The shower had a terrible smell on arrival. The bed was comfy but again limited options with only 2 pillows provided! Overall a terrible experience & I was located on the third floor in a balcony room.
Not sure who wrote the other reviews, but I can’t comprehend how this hotel could be given 2 let alone 5 stars! I wanted to change hotels after the first night, but everything was booked due to parliament sitting… I have travelled here for the last 18 months & never had such a terrible experience!

Average experience; rooms are good sized but expect it as it's so far from the centre. From outside quite old looking but rooms are decent. However shower is very finicky, slight movements left or right gives scalding water or very cold water. Wash basin tap sprays water everywhere. Bedside lamp has a cold fluroscent light which should be changed to a warmer tone. No complementary water either. Would rather stay closer to city in a smaller modern room.

We had a great time here. It was great for the money we paid. Hotel clean. Staff polite, professional and friendly. Bar area has beautiful atrium. Good gym and nice outdoor pool. Bedroom was nice. Bathroom basic but clean. Food very nice. The breakfast was amazing. We would definitely stay here again.

Larry, faheena & the American gentleman on the front desk over the weekend just gone were friendly cheery and helpful. Great food and coffee. Really comfortable bed and very clean. Our room next to main rd and couldn't hear a thing and curtains block out all light. Really enjoyed staying there. Recommend to anyone.

Lovely room — upgraded to suite. Very comfortable and spacious. Amazing living indoor garden and bar area. Very helpful and friendly receptionist. Loads of space. Would recommend and will stay again.

Very interesting design building, with room entry area covered by a big top with garden and restaurant under the big top. Could do with a few upgrades in the rooms, starting to show its age, very comfortable bed, fantastic water pressure in shower, heating was not at its best comfortable but not warm. Room service needs improvement but food was lovely.

An absolutely beautiful place, large centre with an atrium that houses a lot of greenery. The facilities were very nice and we were greeted by friendly and enthusiastic staff. The room was large and bed was comfortable, the bathroom was very clean and had a large shower. Overall the hotel was very nice. One thing that we found out the hard way was how thin the walls were, there was a definite party of two in the room next to us that we felt as if we had a front seat to. Needless to say our experience was somewhat tainted by the lack of sleep as a result of our two noisy neighbours, perhaps ear plugs will be the go next time we stay here. Thanks for a great experience.

I only came here to use the function room however the interior is nicely decorated and the staff seem friendly and professional so I can only assume the rooms are well serviced too, plus they have a pool. They also offer bikes to ride around on and explore the area for a very decent price which is something different compared to other hotels.

Excellent place to stay — twice now for me. The staff, everywhere, were super friendly and helpful. The room was absolutely clean and everything worked perfectly. The buffet breakfast is excellent value with lots of choices from full-cooked to fruit, yoghurt, cold meats. Free and very secure parking is a big contrast to many other Canberra establishments — always check the fine-print of the others before comparing the total package. The building has a very interesting and unusual layout, with a huge, tented atrium full of palms, ferns and vines — fabulous.

Very very pleasant stay in this motel — clean well set out, and the staff were pleasant… great shower in my room (not little needles) … I also recommend the Restaurant and Bar menu in the Atrium. Had a great couple of days…

I was attracted to reserve two nights here April 30-May 2, 2018 as the design and suite seemed good value for money. It was indeed nice on first impression but for the unseen unfriendly digital connections. Either the unsteady and weak Wi-Fi (worked on day 1 but not day 2) or the digital TV sets (did not work on day 1 but worked on day 2) would not work! (NB. On April 30, I bought from the machine a snack AUD2.4 best before April 28)

Had a work meeting here: next to impossible to find (like, seriously hard to find, upstairs on the top floor, in the back corner, with no signs for directions), loud squeeking door which slammed shut loudly so every late arrival stole the show (all 20+ of them), room was small and cramped, but that was probably more do the company hiring it cheaping out and hiring the small room. Hotel actually seemed quite nice though as we were frantically running around it trying to find the pavilion meeting room, so I'll give a bonus star.

Buffet was delicious and atrium was beautiful. Location is close to the city but roadworks on the main road made it impossible to get in and out of hotel smoothly.

Pretty good value for accomodation in Canberra. Rooms are tired though. Bed seemed old, shower in the bath tub, poor lighting in vanity and noisy if you’re in the room facing the road. The restaurant and bar in the foyer is pretty cool though.

Pavilion On Northbourne is a tired old hotel. The general noise travels quite easily room to room, making it quite a noisy hotel with out much going on. Fresh coats of paint don't really hide it's age very well. The bathroom is very small. The atrium is large and attractive, but really it's a basic bar and restaurant. The staff however are fantastic. They're friendly and helpful.

Amazing stay. Staff were lovely, parking was easy and secure. Room was nice, comfy beds and the forest room is amazing. Favorite part of the stay. Breakfast was added for $20, they had everything I could think of and the food was delicious. 100% would stay again!

Convenient location with parking available and reasonably priced accommodation. Was upgraded to a serviced apartment, rooms were clean / tidy with sufficient amenities. Bar located next to lobby, soft drinks and small snacks can also be purchased there. Hotel is very close to Dickson shops — including good cafe's, causal dining options and also a Woolworths. Good stopover location when travelling thru Canberra for a weekend etc.

Went there for event and loved the place. Didn't stay overnight but overall the hotel is spacious and love the lighting in the center court. Lunch was not bad and need some improvement.

Room was tidy, and well furnished, although some unfortunate issues with the air conditioning prevented it from being perfect. Great dinner options are provided on the ground floor, with the option for room service which was great. Additionally there is a buffet breakfast available for a discounted price to guests, which was definitely worth the money.

Fairly priced. Stayed for a weekend event. Didn’t realise how far out of town if was but that’s not the Hotels fault. The staff were very friendly and helpful when needed. The place was nicely decorated, parking was secure and the rooms were well presented — although the bed was pretty rough.

Firstly, Loved the delicious food that this place had to offer its very mouth watering just by thinking about it. The price of the food was very cheap for its quality. I was get disappointed with the room we stayed in, as we walked inside the room there’s lots of stain on the carpet it seems hasn’t been steamed for years. The bed was very uncomfortable it’s a few years overdue for replacement. It’s a good size room and nice layout but it’s due for refurbishment.

We stayed in the spa suite, the room has lots of space for the two of us. The building is slightly dated but the indoor plants are a nice touch. We also had breakfast buffet, it has the Aussie standard breakfast like bacon, eggs, toast, muesli, etc. Breakfast was adequate. Overall it was a positive stay.

Nice and clean hotel. The room we stayed in was a little bland if you can describe a room that way. The forest in the middle of the hotel is a nice change from every other lobby. And the restruant is very good.

I liked the room, it is good for two people. I had no complaint during my visit. Buffet breakfast was great, also they have good choice of food. Clean rooms, housekeeping was great. And the plants inside the hotel makes it look great.

Often stay here for work but not again Check in took 20 minutes, receptionist was abrupt and extremely unhelpful. Made me wait whilst she did other things halfway through checking me in. Had to come back 3 times to get a key that worked TV not working, when I mention to reception when on day 1 I was told there being upgraded and will be fixed by that afternoon. Came back after a long day, TV still not working properly. Called reception who were very surprised that I was not happy that hadn't been fixed. No apology for the inconvenience, but more an abrupt end to my call as though I had interrupted her. Won't be staying again, and will certainly let work now as well.

Experience overall was fantastic. We had a room on ground floor open right onto the pavilion area which was awesome. Bar burgers were yummy, buffet breakfast delicious and the atrium restaurant meal was just divine. Only small gripe was dirty tables in main area, not cleaned before serving bar food. Gorgeous ambient pavilion main area. Clean functional room, super comfortable pillows much appreciated, beds firm but also very comfortable, foxtel/Netflix didn't work the only disappointing aspect and no mini bar (otherwise a 5 star experience). Guest services were ultra welcoming and friendly. Especially Dan who greeted us on late check in, fantastic service. Would surely stay again next time I visit Canberra. Thanks Pavilion.

Had a nice stay. I like how all the foliage in the lobby & bar area makes you feel like you're in a rainforest. Staff were friendly and warm. The room was great for the price; only downside is the bed was two singles pushed together causing an uncomfortable seam.

Friendly and helpful staff, lovely plant filled internal spaces. Room was clean and well made up, bathroom looked a little old but everything worked well.

Good location, free parking. I like the apartment and especially I like our cozy living room. Recommended for families!

May be a former glory but currently in a need of refreshment. Nice food in the restaurant. Staff is friendly and very helpful.

My first experience here last year was very good, although the AC in my room was was stuck on freeze and couldn't be adjusted. My current room 232 is very noisy — it's directly below their function room and staff set it up late at night. Last night someone was moving furniture around past midnight — it destroyed my work day. Tonight it looks like they might be finished by 10.30 PM — small mercies… Staff apologised but don't do anything about it. Try not to get a room in this part of the hotel if you want to function the next day. Other guests below the function room are moving rooms… The hotel needs a policy whereby staff have finished their set-up by 9 PM at the latest. The restaurant food was okay; the green beans in macadamia pesto were great. The atrium is very pretty.

My husband and I spent a night there for a quick getaway and we cannot fault the service — the room was spotless, staff were genuinely nice and very helpful, the accomodation was great for its age and for what we paid (about $140ish) we couldnt have asked for anything better! Our only issue was the late night room service pizza — it was too cheesey to eat, so we dont recommend that, but for in room service at 11.30pm, you cant expect too much! Overall it was a fabulous getaway, we had a wonderful time and wouldn't hesitate in recommending this place and we will probably stay there again, if we get a good prepaid price like we did this time (based on their full rate we got a bargain which made it so worth it! ).

I can only give a 4 start because I didn't stay here, but over at the aria. I went to the bar and had the best time. Great drinks, great service and it was gorgeous! the food! omg the food was divine! I ordered room service from the aria which comes from the pavilion's kitchen! highly recommend the pork ribs!

Nice place however a little rough on the edges. My room was not serviced today, apparently they missed it. Food menu is good but the service lacks the professional touch.

Staff were great. Rooms outdated. Bed most uncomfortable in 252. For the price charged should of been bigger than a double bed. The shower was ridiculous. Had to climb into shower over a high bath. Very dangerous. The shower had no curtain. Water sprayed over the floor toilet and walls. Breakfast and meals were the best part of our stay.

Foyer very lavish, my room, 206, had a very HARD bed. Drawers under bench where case is put didn't slide well and looked a bit tatty. In laundry two small cuboards were rusted. Reception manager Dan told me the walk to the War Memorial was an "easy walk" it turned out to be almost 3km and took me an HOUR. I was not told about the local bus services and it was suggested I take a taxi almost everywhere I went. From there into the city you couldn't get a taxi for under $25. I soon found out (myself) that I could get a local bus outside the hotel. Their hotel transfer service from airport only worked on "weekdays" not weekends. Overall, I'd give the public areas of the hotel a 4 star rating, but the room 3 — 3 1/2. I wouldn't stay there again.

I was visiting people staying there in the apartments section. The forest room is a great entry way into a nice apartment. Plenty of room inside the apartment to host guests. The rest of the hotel looks professional. Access is probably the biggest issue from Northbourne as you can't access it going Northbound.

The buffet breakfast was amazing: 5stars. However the room we stayed in had the worst air conditioning and it was impossible to sleep, and this was in late February: 1 star Would not stay there again.

Good rooms, acceptable amenities. Bathrooms were clean but with old fittings.

Stayed in one of the newly refurbished rooms. Very clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. A really enjoyable experience.

Stayed there many times without fuss, however once I booked a room and showed up with my aboriginal family friend who is over 40 and sensible and they said there had been a error in the booking even that it was confirmed. Had a feeling The manager starting with D didn't like minorities.

The service was excellent from all staff, and the rooms were great temporary accomodation!

Hotel service was great. Rooms with kitchens only had a microwave and glasses, no cutlery or plates. Resturant chefs made an amazing buffet breakfast but room service dinner was disapointing. The young bar guys couldnt make coffee — literally passed the job along the line and the guy who made it couldnt froth the milk. However very reasonable for the price. Would stay again for sure.

Very out dated hotel, payed for the a better room with a spa and stuff to find a very ugly spa bath, the most out dated box Tv in the bedroom, terrible TV connection and terrible TV service (can't see a to guide or anything like that) don't have a number of channels or they just don't work or have extreme static. Looks like they have couches from the 60's in the lounge room. Bed room wasn't cleaned, bed didn't get made, towels didn't get taken/washed. Desk is hardly a desk. Got a microwave but no plates, bowls or cutlery. Do have free secure parking though.

Worst food in Canberra! I ordered medium rump it wasn't cooked properly and my partner ordered beef burger it was served frozen the chips were soggy. Don't recommend this place to anyone.

It's in serious need of an update. The furniture is drab, the carpet is worn and the walls and doors all look like they've taken a good beating. Don't bother purchasing the expensive Wi-Fi because the signal is slow and drops frequently. I wouldn't stay here again unless everything else were booked.

It was really just OK. The rooms are really looking like they are in need of an update. The bar down in the covered courtyard can get a bit noisey. I did like having washing machines and dryers and parking was secure. Breakfasts were pretty good.

A coat of paint makes the pictures look way better than the rooms actually do. Overpriced, run down and outdated furniture and fixtures, heating that doesn't work, a dirty towel left in the room, dirty old carpet, wine not available that is on the menu. No extra blankets, one size pillow fits all, 2 towels (generous) to a room, new release movies $18.95 All this at a "discounted" $169. Reviews on Agoda are a sham. Staff are o. K. Our room central heating didn't work on a cold and wet Canberra day. 5 visits by various people still didn't make a difference. Last person gave us a noisy little air blower heater! When we complained to the manager she upgraded us to a spa room, Heater didn't work in there either! Spa looked like it had seen a lot of action, no shower curtain for the shower. Self contained unit with no crockery or untensils. Living room set top box didn't work so rather we borrowed the one from the bedroom. ON a positive if you like plants there are heaps of them outside the rooms and in the restaurant. I have stayed in many hotels in my travels and would advise you could find way better for the price. This Hotels rooms should be around the $99 budget price.

This place is great! Secured parking for your vehicle, giving you 'peace of mind'as well as fantastic accomodation. The numerouse plants give a good "homey feel"as well as extra oxygen in case of a zombie apocalypse — not a bad thing! :) No troubles with this place as it has extremely friendly staff, free newspaper, close to CBD — close proximity all close things that Canberra has to offer. I struggle to find anything bad about the place. Note — TV has its own sensor (its behind the TV — you might want to move it to the front to change the channels "easier-ly"). Besides this. Highly recommended.

Tired, outdated, a step back into the 80s if you are nostalgic. The aircon in the room is noisy, the bathroom is tiny, the breakfast absolutely inedible and the staff couldn't care less (cheapest muesli they could find, muffins 100% chemical and the eggs clearly made from powdered eggs. Asked for "a la carte" breakfast and they didn't know what that was (it's written on their menu). Complained, didn't get an excuse and still charged us 2% for payment by credit card. Cheapskates on top of that. Avoid at all costs.
