Brilliant hotel going through a big refurbishment. Nice.

This hotel did not disappoint! We've really enjoyed our stay here. It's conveniently located near subway & buses. Their breakfast was good and their beds were comfy. They've also provided 2 complimentary bottled water which was appreciated. They have a roman pool, infrared sauna, spa, & aromatherapy room for guest to utilize after a long tiring day of touring the city. We really appreciate the hospitality. Thank you!

My home in London. Best location by transport or sightseeing. Receptionist Angela is the best in accommodating my request. Hotel staff has always been good.

Well tonight is our last night here. But I have to say this is by far the nicest place I have ever stayed. The Staff is great, the amenities are great and the room is very nice. And it is right next to a 1800 year old Roman wall. 5 stars in my opinion!

This is a really nice stylish Hotel with excellent transport links. Staff and rooms are great. However, was disappointed that after travelling for nearly two hours we couldn’t get any refreshments in the Bar as it was closed st 23:50 on a Friday. Ironically the other Hotels in the vicinity were visibly serving residents.

I had a wonderful stay for work. Very helpful and friendly staff, easy check in and out. Only downside was that I couldn’t put any of my own drinks or food in the mini bar because if you move anything they automatically charge you for it. Otherwise it was very clean, quiet and comfortable.

A good nice warm welcome from Faik and the reception staff made our stay fabulous. The rooms were generous with comfy lounge chairs just made it perfect after a very long flight. But a hotel is only as good as the people who run it, thank you Faik for your help and recommendations.

Had two nights there as a base for exploring central London, staff were helpful and friendly rooms were nice and comfortable, spa was great.

I have mixed views of this hotel. I stay for business because of meetings located here. I do not understand their algorithm for room assignment. I am on my seventh stay and made my booking a few months ago. I am in a small room looking at a train track against an elevator shaft I must listen to all morning and evening. I would expect repeat guests to at least warrant a decent room.

Beautiful hotel, having stayed at Grange hotels before my expectations were high. It was my Husband's birthday so I planned spa treatments and fruit basket with champagne on arrival as a special touch for him. Unfortunately this was not the case. Our room was so small you couldn't swing a cat. This was supposed to be an upgrade from superior to executive. This was reviewed after I stood my ground. They offered a studio which certainly was bigger. The champagne arrived late in the evening. Dressing gowns were too small and poor quality certainly not what I had experienced with the Grange before. Breakfast we had to queue for approximately 10 — 15 min. Why compromise on quality and standards to save money.

Really great hotel. Excellent deal for the money. Excellent health center! Room service good is just ok, super basic. Comfy rooms. Great location. Great spa.

Very nice staff. I could ask whatever I like and they had the info to help me. Our room was very clean En nice. The bed was just too lovely.

We have stayed at The Grand several times. A great place to stay when in London with views of the Tower of London if you are lucky with the room. A quality hotel which you can get at reasonable prices. I take my swimming gear each time we visit but I am yet to use what I am told is a fantastic pool. Next time!

This hotel is great, near to a subway station, and near to the Tower of London. We booked a suite, which was really clean, and with a huge bathroom (I actually never saw a bathroom that big). While we were eating outside, the staff got our room ready for sleep : they pulled the curtains and kindly opened our beds.

Wouldn’t recommend this hotel! Manger was very rude when asked him my room looks nothing like what the picture showed me when I paid extra and upgraded the room I got the room wich was £123 when I paid £161 so if you book an excecutive room thinking it’s going to be great believe me It’s not! Picture shows a lovely view of the tower bridge and the Tower of London! I got a brick wall and a bit of fenchurch street train track! If your staying in the area I would highly recommend the double tree by Hilton located the next road down such a great hotel thought I would try somewhere different but learnt my lesson! Stick to what you know.

A decent hotel in a good location of London. Children up to Tower Bridge can be in 5-10 minutes, near the fortress, and other interesting places a lot. The hotel itself is old, but clean, food is good.

The staff were great and attentive. The pool and other facilities were also fantastic. O ly marked down sightly due to the bed being too hard and didn't get a great night's sleep.

I LOVE this hotel… it's true 5 class… beautiful rooms with solid walnut wood furniture and details… spacious rooms… perfect night sleep bedding… soundproof almost! The nice touches like a powerful shower… a bath… lush spa toiletries and the most lovely staff. The FREE Jacuzzi, sauna and Olympic size swimming pool seal the deal! I wanted to live there… the receptionists are so professional, yet approachable. You can request a lovely bath robe and slippers… gorgeous fresh flower displays… the location is incredible… you wall outside and there's tower bridge! I could go ON and ON… this is THE place to relax into luxury. THANK YOU you amazing hotel you. Xxx.

The price paid was in line with other London hotels available for that night although expensive; the experience was pleasant but not without a few niggles. First off the location is great for the Tower of London and minutes away from the nearest tube station. There was an issue checking in in the fact that our room wasn't ready, so we had to wait in the lobby for 20 minutes for it to be cleaned. The room was a good size, clean and tidy, but in my opinion not as grand as the hotel lobby and not of the same standard as other 5* hotels I've stayed in previously. The hotel staff did enter our room in the evening — whilst we were out — to close the blinds and add a chocolate mint to our pillows; whilst a nice touch, I wish I knew this so we could have not left personal belongings strewn across the room when getting ready in a hurry! The well-being facilities were good; the pool was lane only swimming and the hot tub, steam room, sauna and aromatherapy room were quite small but luckily it was quiet when we used them. The reception staff were polite but didn't explain much, we had no idea how to use the lockers so ended up hanging our belongings in the main pool area. Checking out the following morning was easy, although it was suggested that we'd used the mini bar and it felt like we had to convince them that we hadn't. Concierge were very helpful when we'd realised we'd left something in our room and in booking attraction tickets for us.

Small rooms, dated bathrooms. Very good breakfast buffet. Staff were not the easiest to work with. Porters were excellent and professional. Housekeeping staff were also great. The pool/gym is a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Great view from the 11th floor.

Hotel with very close proximity to The Tower of London. Value for money and much higher quality than other central London hotels at this price point. Bed was comfortable, air conditioning worked without being too noisy. Good shower and the room had a bath.

Lovely hotel. Very friendly welcoming staff. Excellent pool and jacuzzi. And views over the London Bridge. Perfect location at Fenchurch street and they provide a left luggage service. Thus works well for us to arrive in London. Drop our luggage and go across the road to the bus stop. The rooms are cozy and the bed is huge.

Very good hotel, great deal in reception and in the bar, spacious rooms with good views, very clean, with ironing board, iron, hairdryer, big TV with USB for hard disks, very much this. Bar where you can dine out of hours and include it in room.

Superb hotel, located 200 metres from the subway and next to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Competent staff. The gym is good, huge pool and spa which are luxurious, sauna hammam and aromatherapy in addition. Everything is excellent, the rooms are clean spacious and classy. They are also cleaned every morning. The only problem is the prices of some things that are too high such as breakfast (23 pounds) and massages which are also too expensive. I would highly recommend.

Quiet hotel easy to get to from London City Airport and close to the tower.

A good hotel but unfortunately was allocated a converted meeting room as a bedroom. It was complete with a folding partition to open out into two rooms (it was shut) so never quite felt fully comfortable. Slightly too quick to clear my table at breakfast when had just popped to get some more juice.

Expensive and aging Hotel. No way to increase the heating in my room.

Excellent. Staff were very friendly, and the rooms were excellent. I had a view overlooking the tower of London and Tower Bridge, at night it was just breathtaking. The breakfast was very good, I upgraded to the full English breakfast, but from what I saw of the complimentary continental breakfast, it was also excellent. Would definitely stay there again.

Spent the day here for a conference. Facilities were good. Staff polite and helpful. Break pastries and cakes looked good, gluten free biscuits were ok. Plenty of tasty food for buffet lunch with a number of options. Good venue.

Excellent value for money Located above Tower Hill Metro station a stone's throw from Tower Bridge. The SPA is free and consists of a swimming pool, a small jacuzzi, a sauna and a Turkish bath. Clean rooms. Long Check-in.

Super clean and the rooms are very large and in addition I got right to the view of the TOWER BRIDGE:)

Really enjoyed our stay. Very nice staff. Swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna were great. A very well decorated, traditional building. Location was brilliant, 2 seconds away from the tube station. Plenty are restaurants within a 20 minute walk. Room was a little small and didn't have many sockets (none either side of the bed).

Very well located Hotel with stunning views on the higher floors and great service from all the staff. Full breakfast and comfortable and functional rooms. Great cleanliness.

Mixed feelings. Impressive when we first arrived in the reception area and expecting high standards as it's a 5 star hotel. Very disappointed when going in to our first room because it wasn't clean and we found rubbish (cigarette butts) left on the balcony. The second room wasn't much better because of dust and a dirty phone. Thankfully the third and final room has provided us with a fabulous view of the Tower and the Shard! Settees however need replacing if not cleaned (shabby). Breakfast was fine (could be hotter) and the pool, sauna and other fitness rooms are excellent. Puzzled about the large size of the room with a small bathroom! Unlikely to return, although it's location is the biggest plus factor. The Concierge helped us so much throughout our stay and that's the only other plus factor.

We attended the New Year’s Eve gala dinner and having paid for such we were disappointed to learn we weren’t on the list of guests. However the staff immediately leapt into action and dealt with the issue immediately. There were no bathrobes in our room and although it took three calls to housekeeping they did bring two up eventually. Finally breakfast which was delivered to our room wasn’t the best we’ve had. Over cooked etc. However having mentioned the above on check out we immediately saw a duty manager who compensated us without question. It’s a lovely hotel with friendly helpful staff and for those of you who have any problems, just tell them and they will remedy pretty much straight away.

A lovely hotel and staff. Breakfast was lovely and facilities (gym, pool, sauna, steam room, aromatherapy room) were brilliant. Sadly the jacuzzi was out of action during the stay. The hotel emailed me within 24 hours to advise me of my dietary requirements, which was lovely. Would love to stay again. Very convenient for transport, food and tower bridge.

From check in to check out I couldn't ask for a better class of service. Food was amazing, Service staff world class Accommodation extremely comfortable  Close to Tower Of London and central London  Great location with nice comfortable rooms. Staff were helpful. Warm reception. We have nothing but compliments to all the team and our special thanks. The hotel is in walking distance of the tube, river taxi and buses. Arrived slightly early, was allowed to check in and leave bags with concierge, which are safely stored, staff were kind and polite at desk. We requested a higher room as we had originally been located on a lower level. This was done without extra cost or hassle, staff were really accommodating of the request. Room was on fifth floor beside lift, which worried me, however, never heard anything from it, didn't cause any sleep disturbance. The room was clean and spacious and the view was really impressive. It is slightly dated, but it didn't impact on the trip, wasn't there to look at a hotel room all day and night. Went for breakfast in the morning, which is not included in the price, so we paid separately for this. The cooked breakfast was approx £23 each, it's a bit of a shock, but considering the wide selection of food and drinks and being able to eat as much as you want then, it's worth the price. It's London after all.   Checkout was easy with absolutely no hassle.

Good venue for a conference. Seated 150 comfortably with break out areas. Very light and airy. Reception staff attentive, attractive bar and located a stones throw from the tube. Minor issue: the conference room was a tad cold. The hotel room itself was fine and reasonably priced.

The hotel is clean and decorated to a high standard. There was an error with the room we had been given however staff on reception were excellent and swapped it back to the original booking straight away and transferred our luggage to the new room. Excellent views from the bedroom balcony.

The hotel is lovely, the amenities and rooms feel luxurious, and the price is appropriate. It's a stone's throw from the metro, which is great to get around and do things, though the area itself is more for business. Buyer be warned: it is NOT non-smoking, and some guest wings smell of it. To compensate for this, housekeeping will always leave the window in your room open, meaning it can be very cold when you return from your day.

It's is meant to be a 5 star hotel, but even within 5 stars there are levels. It has the amenities, but the general decor and comfort I would say is a 2 star at best. We only spent one night here and paid £120 for the room only with no breakfast. So a very cheap 5 star for London. It was booked through last minute… As a secret hotel, supposedly discounted. On the positive side, the staff were very good but the interior let's it down.

The Hotel is very nice and close to the tower of London. Breakfast is however a bit pricey, 17, £50 for a continental breakfast, or £23 for a full English breakfast. Many alternatives exist nearby, much cheaper.

Perfect location. Very professional staff. But room a little defraichie and cramped bathroom.

But for the excellent duty manager this would have been a 2 star rating but he sorted out the issues quickly and decisively. Issues were restaurant staff who couldn't understand English resulting in a scene from Victoria Wood "can you point to it". Food that was cold (meal replaced in another restaurant without charge) and a rock hard bed (room changed and upgraded)

Great location and easy to find. Upgraded our room for free so massive thanks to the hotel. Only problem was there was no iron in our room but told reception as we left who said they will put a new one in. Very clean and lovely bathroom facilities. Would go back.

It seems they try to put you in a lower cost rooms if you don't complain. We pre-booked a superior room with extra seating space and a view and at first they wanted to put us in a normal double room without extra seating space. After talking to the reception they gave us a better room. The rooms are quite old fashioned and reminded me of mid-western American hotels. Breakfast wasn't 5 star for me but pretty decent. Don't expect salmon or something fancy.

Fantastic service! Staff were accommodating, friendly and always on hand. Room was amazing. View was just sublime! Clean, tidy, spacious and extras were laid on with care and love. Breakfast was packed full of options, from continental to Full English. Would recommend fully, will be coming back!

The reception is great the staff is very attentive very polite and very dedicated the explanations are very clear the service is impeccable the rooms are very welcoming and very clean to advise.

Everyone was very helpful. I wasn't stating in the hotel, just attending an event there so I can't say much about the rooms, food, etc. Just that all the staff I encountered were polite and extremely helpful.

Good for meetings and banquets; very professional set-up. The banqueting food was also very nice. The impression, though, was the staff were somewhat detached and even just navigating around the hotel wound up being a bit of a challenge. But overall very nice hotel and quite a good location in London.

Good hotel but it's now lacking the 5* touch now. Run down and staff could do with learning better customer service. Spa area nice and clean but would be nice if there was individual changing rooms. Needs improvements.

Great location for hotel with all transport link's. Lovely employees who are watching for you. Meeting rooms are top class. Interior is beautiful inside.

Elegant place and centrally located in the financial district. Many attractions to visit nearby. Quiet and not noisy area, close to Metro.

Comfortable and central and good standard.

The Grange has a great 25 metre pool which is spilt into three lanes for swimming. The facilities seem a little dated, particularly the changing rooms and gym. However going for a swim and sauna is great with a "Romanesque" theme.

Had a pleasant stay here. However, the rooms require a serious refurbishment to modernise them. The light switches are scattered over the room making it a chore to turn them off before bed. The blinds take an age to roll down/up and leaves a gap between them which disturbs sleep in the morning. The aircon is quite noisy and not very powerful. We were feeling quite warm even on its coldest setting. The location of the plug sockets are inconvenient far from the beds. I recently stayed at the Tower Hill branch which has very modern rooms. It's what you expect of a 5 star hotel. We stayed in one of the suites but the lounge area was strange as it had a couch and lots of cupboards but nothing else. There's no reason you'd sit in there. You'd expect a TV in there to watch from the couch but there is only a TV in the sleeping area. Having said that, the service and cleanliness of the hotel and the rooms was exceptional. The beds very comfy. The spa too is exceptional. Location is very good just a minutes walk from tower Hill Station. A few mins from tower gateway station, Fenchurch station or aldgate station. 10 min from Bank station. Would I stay here again? Probably not as I'd much rather stay in the nearby tower bridge Grange Hotel.

Comfortable rooms, shower and pillows were amazing. Staff during the day were very hospitable, however those on the night shift (past midnight) were extremely rude and arrogant. Quality of breakfast was a bit of a let down, and again the customer service in the breakfast room could do with some attention. Not bad, but wouldn't rush to stay there again.

Just returned from a fantastic weekend at the grange city hotel. The staff were brilliant, polite and friendly! The room was large and very comfortable. We had a double bed each with lovely soft pillows. The swimming pool is beautiful and the location is perfect for sightseeing! Would recommend this hotel highly. Very reasonably priced for this location and standard. The only criticism was the price of the drinks in the Isis bar. Other than this it was a perfect stay!

Nice hotel and attended for a professional seminar. One of the better hotel buffet lunches and a good venue. Well located near Tower Bridge.

Really disappointing. Have stayed in the Grange St Paul's previously & had a largely positive experience, but the Grange City Hotel should not be able to call itself a 5-star hotel. We went for a relaxing night & it was anything but that. Check-in was chaotic with no system in place, so people were just able to jump in front of others in the queue. Our room was clean but outdated with paper-thin walls — we could hear everything going on in the room next to ours. The pool & sauna were fine but they insist on making the entire pool swimming lanes, which is awkward for people who just want to paddle & chat. Our room overlooked Fenchurch Street station & we commented that at least the double-glazing seemed to be good — as we couldn't hear the trains (although we were on the 5th floor so presumably that made a difference too). Famous last words: when we got back to the room after dinner, we were assaulted by drum & bass noise. Midnight came & went, & still the room shook. Just after 2am, I finally gave in & called reception. I was informed that the noise was not coming from the hotel — that it was most likely coming from Revolution nightclub. I told the receptionist to send someone up to my room to assess the situation & determine where the noise was coming from. Needless to say, no one came & no one bothered to call me back to offer any solution (such as an alternate room). When checking out, I was ready to vent but decided to see whether the receptionist asked how my stay was.

Fantastic place to stay. Good prices if booked in advance. Always look online for special offers :) Great location for lots of other London attractions such as Tower Bridge and The Shard.

The rooms are nice really doubt. The gym is really good size. It's close to Tower Bridge, which is a pretty convenient location. Room service is average, but not bad. And you can order from two other restaurants besides the room service in the hotel.

The staff at this hotel couldn't have been more helpful, they were exceptional. The room was clean and tidy, no complaints there! The spa was a little chilly and, unfortunately for our visit, the Jacuzzi wasn't in action. Would definitely consider staying here again though, as its location right behind Tower Hill station was perfect.

Worst 5* hotel we have ever stayed in. Ruined our whole weekend away. After our 1st night we ordered 2 breakfasts which were supposed to contain eggs Benedict and scrambled eggs but arrived with fried and poached eggs. We then tried to order off room service the following morning at 10am and chose two items with stars next to them as in the menu it stated they were available 24hrs — however we were told we werent allowed anything other than breakfast before 11am. When questioned about what the menu said the staff were extremely rude and hung up on us. We had to call back and talk to a manager — the food then did not get delivered to our room for a good hour and was practically inedible. My husband tried to call downstairs again and our phone had been turned off he had to call off his mobile down to reception but still nothing was done about this over the 3 nights we stayed. All the staff were very rude and unhelpful. The room wasn't 5* quality and we were in an executive room — no plug by the beds which was very inconvenient for charging our phones. The bathroom was very small and the toilet kept blocking, since nobody came to sort it out for ages it was left to my husband! There was only one wine and one tall glass in the room and no spoons to stir the hot beverages. My husband was in the hotel bar another night and asked for a drink to be charged to our room which he was refused and embarrassed in front of other guests.

Staff are friendly, services are good, but not quite sure why it's a 5 star, it has the same features as a 4 star in Ireland.

Rooms good but staff generally unhelpful, rude and disorganised. Poor management. Poor training.

Stayed for two nights. The staff welcoming you are very friendly and helpful. The staff in reception less so. No info about for example breakfast or the facilities at check in. The rooms are clean and tidy. Though my iphone charged only 60% during the whole night! No plugs by the bed so you will have to walk to the desk to check your phone. Room needs an upgrade — looks as if stuck in the 80s. Only 1 min away from Tower Hill station. Despite it being next to fencurch street station, the trains and announcements were not a nuisance. There is a newspaper every morning outside your stood, but on the floor — why not hang it on the door in a bag? Also slippers and robe missing. Post stay I needed a copy of my receipt and it took +12h for someone in reception to reply — only to tell me they could not find my booking with my booking reference or name… Will I be back? Not in a hurry.

Nice hotel with SPA, swimming pools and gym. The room is quite big compared to similar hotels in London. The furniture is a bit old, but the overall experience is good.

To say this day was wesome would be an understatement! I thoroughly enjoyed spending my birthday at the Grange City Hotel, it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The staff especially events manager Kritty were so helpful doing everything to make sure the day was successful. Whilst the prep leading up to the day was perfect most places have some hic ups of some sort on the actual day. I can honestly say this was not the case, staff were there on time, were well informed and catered to our needs in every way possible. Thank you to all the staff on the night! Would recommend this hotel a 1000 times.

Very nice rooms. Very friendly staff. Food extremely expensive — use some pubs around. Beautiful and romantic furniture. At the bathroom, there is a children safety, so you get only hot water, when you trick it. The rooms should be more carefully cleaned. In my room there were things which belongs not to me, under the ironing station and behind the desk — not nice.

Hotel very well place for lovers of architecture, but strongly needs a makeover, rear views without interest Attention did ask for a room with a view on the Thames — 4 stars for my taste.

This hotel is probably the nicest hotel of many that I have stayed in over the years. The staff all seem eager to please and are very professional and courteous. The restaurant staff are particularly good at their jobs. The food is totally excellent and I am lucky to have stayed enough nights to have sampled most of the menu now. Having stayed there all week in room 1016 which has an excellent view overlooking the Tower and Tower Bridge, I am due to return on Sunday for the whole week. Quite frankly, I am more than looking forward to it. That's how highly I rate this hotel.

I booked a romantic weekend with my partner. On arrival at check in I cheekily asked if there was any chance of a room with a view of tower bridge. For a small extra charge we decided to pay, to our surprise we were tsken to the penthouse suite on the 12th floor! Thank you grange city for a spectacular stay and an amazing view in an amazing penthouse suite.
