Room was clean… Bug infestation though! Some rooms have them worse than others… I know this factually! Management is excellent, completely understanding and attentive.

The young man that checked us in was Extremely nice and Cute! The room however was dirty, and looked like it had someone commit suicide in the bathroom from the circular stain on the wall behind the toilet looking like someone blew their brains out. Found giant dust bunnies, TV didn't work, shower turned on but wouldn't shut off all night long, shower curtail looked like it was barely hanging on a pole lopsided, and the roaches crawling up my leg when I took a shower was enough for me. Then in the morning, I stepped out the door to see what looked like a gang of meth heads and heroin junkies all staring at me from the stairwell. I only stayed because of the guy who checked us in and that it was the only place to rent a room on Memorial Day weekend.

No, towels, no shower currten. Sink leaks, heater broke. Door don't lock. Would not pay to stay here again.

This place was a wonderful place to stay. I felt like I was on cloud 9 the whole time and everybody was so nice I thought I had died and gone to heaven. The room service was not the greatest but the price was right so I can't really complain. They offer free coffee that is so good and will have you bouncing off the walls and then knock you out cold so go easy on the stuff. I would recommend staying here if you are looking for a cheap place to lay your tired head at night ✌

Very unsafe dirty lots of drug activity. In the week that I worked outside of the hotel there was a drug overdose multiple drug deals and Federal agents questioning people in the area and at the hotel.

I have been totally scammed by this place twice now. The images online absolutely do not match the quality of the rooms. The rooms are SCARY. Cobweb cielings, yellowed sheets, dirty floors. We took one look and walked out. Asked for even a partial refund with no luck. Seriously I wouldn't recommend booking this place.

This place isn't as bad as people say. Yes, it isn't the cleanest place I've ever been… But that's on the guests. This is a group setting where everyone is responsible for taking care of it. When you have clean guests willing to take care of the place, this place is clean. We even had a BBQ with everyone chipping in… I haven't seen a single bed bug, the sheets are clean. The caretaker is a nice guy and he makes sure everyone is comfortable…

Let me just start by saying that I hate writing bad reviews and I can put up with an awful lot but by God this place was bad. As soon as I walked in I noticed at least 5 or 6 cockroaches in the bathroom, there were cockroaches on the bed, and there was a dirty towel in the middle of the floor. The walls, sheets, and towels were dirty and stained various shades of brown and yellow. There was hair in the bed and the people back in here were really sketchy. I didn't even feel comfortable standing right outside the door with my big 6 foot 1 boyfriend to smoke a cigarette. And bed bugs. Actually debated sleeping in the car.

Might be a decent motel for cheap by this place has bed bugs and I had a lot of other people saying that they got eaten alive like I was they also did not do anything about it.

Wasn't expecting much, but this was bad, and I've stayed in some ghetto hotels before. Had to ask for everything; towels, soap, cups, garbage can. Shower was backed up. Bed sheets had pubes and other stuff, gross. Saw roaches coming out when it got dark, and then came on here to read the reviews. I read about bed bugs and bounced, I don't even want to risk it. I wasn't expecting much, but damn, you at least expect it to be clean for $80. There are cheaper ghetto places in SE better than this.

Do not stay here! It's horrid and a total rip off for the $118 we spent to stay one night in a gross room. I've stayed in hostels that were cleaner and safer. This place should be shut down. The bedding is all mismatched and smells absolutely awful. The top blanket was dirty with cigarette burns. The floors are hard and painted black. They're dirty and sticky. The bathroom was like a horror movie. No trash cans. No desk like in description. No side tables next to the bed. We had to put our things and water on the floor. Wi-Fi doesn't work in the rooms. The phones have been completely stripped out of the rooms. Foxy Roxy is quite a character. Yikes. She was in this dark, dirty office telling us the room wouldn't be ready on time. Some guy was supposedly cleaning the room while smoking a cigarette the entire time. Neighbors were a mix of scary or sad.

Perfect for those who intend on an extended stay, dirt cheap costs, and definitely a place that blends into it's environment. Show that you have manners and others will show theirs.

If u like cock roaches this is definitely the place for u to stay cuz they are just poping holes in the walls arch ways and falling out of every hole and crack every where even coming out of sinks.

Stayed here for a couple weeks and saved enough money to move out. Krysta and Tony are good managers. They need to keep up on the men's dorm every day. But other than that very comfortable.

This is an extended stay motel that offers rooms to the general public and also to persons with disabilities in need of slightly assisted living. It is located in a quiet little neighborhood with close easy access to public transportation. There is a live on manager who is almost always on site to help you with your needs. It is an older building that could definitely use some remodeling and upgrades and a good cleaning.

Waking up at 7 in the morning for payment reminders. No trashcans. 70 bucks. The lady was kind but wasnt worth the stay.

The place is fine, if you are leaving a halfway house. There are some strange-ness about the place. But great location. I have friends who stay there sometimes.

I would just like to state that I wish I didn't have to give it the one star. If you are looking for a good place to stay, this is not it. Although if you like bugs in your room and piles of garbage… You just found your own little piece of paradise! The adventure started as soon as I walked into my "little piece of paradise". I quickly noticed that I had the luxury of 2 microwaves. Unfortunately neither worked. On the bright side, great place to hide valuables due to questionable fellow guests. I then noticed that the room did not have a garbage can. As I was about to venture into Portland for the evening I decided to hide my bags under the mattress. It was at this point I realized where the garbage was stored. Upon returning back for the evening, I laid down fully clothed in fear of touching cigarette burnt and possibly unwashed bedding. As I arose the next morning and started packing I heard a knock on the door 15 minutes before check out. It just so happened it was the hotel manager making sure I was on my way out. This is probably due to all the people busting down the doors to stay in this gem of an establishment (insert sarcasm). I'm fairly sure I didn't need a reminder to want to depart ways with the Portland Pensione.

I am staying in the hostel and have had a wonderful experience so far. If you are looking for a reasonable rate, look no further. With that being said, there are a few things to overlook but I am happy to do so when I see all the money I'm saving. Roxy, the manager, is a sweat woman and has done her best to make me feel comfortable. $30 a night is the best you'll find in portland. I plan on staying through the summer. I love the Portland Pension!

Pretty horrible place. There were mites in the bed, flies everywhere, cockroaches. Walls are filthy and only a few of the outlets worked. Wifi basically never worked. If you can, sleep somewhere else or even on a clean sidewalk.

Today I went to visit a friend who is rent challenged and has many evictions that were not even his falt over the years due to crappy roommates that did not pay and caused him to be kicked out of over 8 apartments over the years. He has to live here because no one will rent to him in Portland due to the number of evictions and credit problems he has. This was one of the worst rooms that I have ever seen in my entire life and I have stayed in many hotels over the years in Portland and in other states. The place gets $80 a night and it is a DUMP. There are NO amenities and the phones and everything has been ripped out of the walls and never upgraded. The kitchen is very small and has not cabinets at all in it and no storage at all for your food. The hotel is very old and needs an upgrade and know they are not going to do it. I cannot believe this place gets so much money for a hotel that has nothing at all going for it. It needs paint and a huge makeover. They take advantage of the challenged and mentally ill and mentally slow that no no better but to live here due to not being able to rent anywhere else. They are paying A LOT and getting nothing at all. The sheets and beds are dirty and there is NO housekeeping service and the computer signal does not work in the rooms as well if you have a computer and the internet. Please do not stay here because they think you get a reasonable price here at $80 a night.

Hostel was affordable and everyone was friendly :) a great place to stay while exploring the city.

This is the most disgusting place I've ever had the misfortunate to waste my money on. The rooms are filthy. Cockroaches, bed sheets were dirty, no pillow sheets on the bed and no clean towels were provided. I purchased 6 nights for a friend, which was WAY overpriced for this hell hole. Then we were 'upgraded' to a nicer room and that one was only minimally better. We found a bag with a broken crack or meth pipe and food left behind from the last occupant. Its also full of drug addicts. Don't waste your money here! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Not a damn thing I've been in porta potties that are cleaner than that place. I'd rather drag my balls through 5 miles of broken glass then sleep there.

Have left several messages, never recieved a call back. Then decided to ask some people who live nearby about it. From what I've been told about from locals. This is a dangerous place to stay. Unless you enjoy meth, hookers, and bedbugs. Stay away.

Honestly, it would be cleaner and safer to park your car and sleep in it somewhere on the outskirts of town than stay here. Me and my boyfriend stayed here, and we skated to the gas station around 11 PM. A guy went running after a girl, and then began following us, and after we made it back to the hotel and got upstairs he waited outside of our room pacing back and forth looking for us for an hour. Also, I don't think anyone cleans the rooms (or washes the pillows). Ever. My advice is bring a weapon and your own sheets and pillows, and don' t touch the shower curtain. If it's all you can afford, however, it works. Don't pay for days in advance because refund requests are met with laughter.

The men's "dorm" is simply a room with 2 beds. Sheets and comforter had holes and didn't look like they had been washed in a while. Shady characters to say the least. AVOID this half way house that calls it's self a hotel.

I booked my girlfriend in at the female dormitory room on her trip to Portland. It's was an okay place, for the price we paid can't expect it to be amazing. The man who checked us in was polite. All the other staff was antisocial and not very helpful. The actual hotel rooms were decently cleaned but not the female dorm. I won't stay there in the actual hotel, but if your in a rut and you need a cheap place to stay, as a female, this is as a good as your gonna get.

This place was Disgusting (with a capital "D"). The owner Roxy is extremely rude and complains when you politely ask her to do her job, meaning I wanted to check in at my designated time, but my room had not been "cleaned" yet. Most guests are gross hippies who walk around in their underwear smoking. My room was filthy — — the towels I was provided had grease streaks on them. Floors, curtains, table tops and bed was dirty. I had no lamps and no telephone. I didn't shower for fear I would catch something. There was hair in my sink and on my bathroom mirror when I arrived, as well as garbage still in the trashcan, and dirt underneath the covers at the foot of my made bed. There is a small refridgerator, but it had sediment in the fridge part, and frozen orange residue in the freezer. The microwave was clearly soiled. Do yourself a favor and never stay here, under any circumstance. It is not worth the price whatsoever.

I stayed in the dorm for two nights, $22 is the cheapest you could get in Portland as far as I know. You will be charged another additional $5 for sheets and the towel. The beds are pretty clean although I would not suggest sleeping in the upper bunk if you are a rather heavy person. The owner Roxy is a very kind person and she seems to be very worried about her guests, which sadly does not translate how she treats them. All the cupboards were closed tightly with screws so there are almost no possibilities to properly cook. I assume she tries to keep the usage of the facilities to a minimum. She won't provide you with a key card so you will always have to ring the bell if you want to get to your room. If she's gone, you'll have to wait. All in all she is not able to handle the house and should hire help. But she doesn't so it ends up being a crappy place. If you need a bed for a night, it's good, if you plan to stay for longer and enjoy your hostel, go somewhere else.

Two stars out of 30 is too much for this place. We paid for a week, and the first night, we noticed the deadbolt on the door was broken, there were holes in the blankets and sheets, and when we pulled back the blanket, an angry bedbug scurried off. They wouldn't give us our money back. You can find much better places for the same price further north. How is this place still open.

First off the manager is not what you would call trust worthy. She locked me out of my room just after check in so I would come to the office for a new key. She then proceeded to tell me I needed to leave the next day because I didn't pay for a two day stay. Luckily after hounding her for a reciept after check in I was able to prove I in fact did pay for 2 days. As for the rooms, I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemies. Cockroach infested, blood stained, filthy, stinky crap hole of a room. It was absolutley disgusting. As I carried my bags in I was approached by what I can only describe as walking death. This guys first words to me were "do you know where to score any meth". One hour later I walked to my car to get a few things and was approached by another guy asking me the same thing. Without a doubt this was the worst place I have ever stayed. Absolutely unbelievable and horrifying. Take my advice and stay far far away from this hell hole.
