Best hotel experience I've ever had in Salt Lake City. The staff & managers are so friendly, caring & go above and beyond to make sure you have an outstanding stay. Very quiet, peaceful & perfect location also! A++

The Mexican restaurant is within walking distance, but we did see some sketchy people in the area. Our room smelled weird but worked for us. Dave’s food and drug is nearby and has everything you’d need. Be careful driving out of the the parking lot at the hotel, you’ll probably bottom out. The roads can be confusing here too. This place works in a pinch!

Excellent place to Stay! They have the very best staff & management that really cares. Clean rooms, nice beds & quiet. A++

First room we had. Had a funny smell and found alcohol bottles under the bed… the staff was good they let us switch rooms but new room also had a smell and carpet and furniture are very worn. The AC was l a little week and beds we're a bit motel 6ish. Pool was cold but was clean. Staff was great.

Not the best hotel of this chain!

The room I have is not exactly clean the carpet is sticky when you walk on bare feet. This is the only La Quinta I know that charges a pet fee. Breakfast was bad no eggs. The TV in my room only has 1 channel USA network, the remote doesn't work on the satellite TV receiver mounted on the wall. Staff are friendly. Didn't bother to complain about breakfast or the TV, if it's that bad I just post it online. Mark this as a LaQuinta hotel to never stay at again. Oh the carpet is so bad my dog won't even sleep on it sleeps on the tile floor instead. Gross.

It took everything I had not to just load up my family and sleep in the car. This place is definitely run down.

I’ll start by saying I try hard not to never give 1 star reviews but this visit was terrible from the beginning. Staff is terrible. We are military Elite Rewards members and part of the perks are an upgraded room when available. When we checked in we requested the opportunity to use the upgraded room, the gentleman told us there weren’t any available — I had checked prior to asking and after he told me there were none available and there were 2 once I checked Expedia. When I questioned him about them he said they hadn’t checked in yet — this was at 11:30 at night. We just overlooked it and carried on with our stay. Breakfast is mediocre at best, the breakfast area is NOT kept clean and stocked. Whoever prepares breakfast must set it out and once it’s gone it’s gone no matter what time it is. See photos — I went down for breakfast at 7:50 — over an hour prior to breakfast being over by schedule and nobody ever re-stocked. It’s just thrown out there. Not sure if they’re short staffed or just don’t care — based on the over all visit I would say the second is a safe bet. I just sat and observed everything at this point. I saw a guest ask the woman at the front desk if there was anymore milk for breakfast so we could at least have cereal since it was the only thing left. She waited til he was out of sight, never went to check and when he returned to see if there was milk she told him there wasn’t.

This hotel is a no smoking hotel but the room I got smelled like cigarettes, which I then asked for a different room and the lady working up front was very nice and switched me a different room. The second room smelled humid and sweaty, the microwave was dirty and there were a couple things that needed fixing. Unfortunately the pool was out of service, so I tried the fitness center. The fitness center was poorly maintained and very dusty, which tells me it doesn’t get cleaned regularly. Customer service was great, but they need to retrain cleaning staff to clean correctly.

Definitely not military friendly. I asked to get a free upgrade since I’m a military elite member and I’m eligible for free upgrades when available. The son of the owner who was working the night shift LIED and said they were sold out. No upgrades. I called the military line and they showed availability.

Room was clean and quiet. 3rd floor hall carpet really needs cleaning. Breakfast area was comfortable and clean and food was adequate.

Not good stay. TV didn't work. Elevator is Tiny, but at least it works. My room has thin walls neighbor is loud had to call, management.

Maid service left a dirty towel in the bathroom and there was someone else’s hair in the jetted tub. Half of the safety lock mechanism was missing. The wall had been patched with drywall mud, but never painted. The front clerk locked herself out of the computer and we were unable to check out. We were told we’d receive a discount for the dirty towel and we did not. Employees were cordial and professional.

TV remote didn't work, person at the front desk said that's the way it is until the DIRECTV guy can come and fix it. I looked it up online and reprogrammed it for them. Also the card reader for the side door doesn't work, front desk again said that's the way it is. They could have warned us so we didn't stand there trying both keys before giving up and having to walk all the way around.

Very Clean rooms, Great service, Great stay, Breakfast, clean pool, safe area, staff was very friendly, they even have laundry room and little store. It was our first time in Utah and we were very satisfied this will def be our place to stop on our runs. Thank you.

There was a shooting here at 4 am inside the hotel. This area has gone down the drain. The receptionist overcharged for the room, and wouldn't fix his mistake.

This is a great little known place to stay. The amenities are on par with other LaQuintas, but it's the staff here that really makes this place shine! Try the Mexican place next door, great food. Coffee and donuts are right across the street. The laundry place on the corner offers same day drop off service. Our favorite place to stay in SLC.

Had a pretty bad cologne smell in our room and the adjoining room we were able to hear everything and their conversation wasn't that loud or TV that loud either. Staff was great to move us to another room without any issues. This La Quinta was a step down from most others I have stayed in. Lower quality breakfast, pillows, room decor but really wasn't a bad experience. With that said we sgould not have been given a room smelling so "good" / bad. I would probably look elsewhere first.

I wasnt very impressed especially the breakfast. Its not real healthy plus they were out of they protien items. I havê never been to a motel or hotel that runs out before the end of breakfast. The rooms were ok, but need some remodeling. The remote didnt work completely. They On — off switch didnt work. They Bed and pillows were very comfortable.

Front desk lady and guy accused wife of taking towels. Was rude when checking out. Breakfast was cold, breads seemed like they sat out all night they were hard, waffles were so hollow and when asked if we were doing something wrong the lady just said I don't know we don't make the batter. Just rude customer service. Pool was so cold and smelled so much of chlorine 2 of our kids had to get out because of the burn. Rooms were okay. More than likely not going to stay again!

The only positive thing I have to say is the staff are very nice. As for the rooms, they're dirty, unkempt and gross in some places. The plugs are loose, and a awful fire hazard.

The theme of this place is watered down. The breakfast food was watered down and cold at 6:30 in the morning. The room was incredibly dusty, the carpet needs to be replaced. It smells like urine. The only redeeming quality is that the water pressure is decent and the shower is not the worst. After driving/traveling for three days straight, a good night’s sleep was needed but not only could I not sleep because of the loud fan but the sheets and pillows smelled like they hadn’t been washed with the right amount of detergent in weeks. Everything from the orange juice to the waffle mix, the milk, and cleaning supplies were all watered down. My family (4 people) all woke up with respiratory issues in the morning because of how dusty the room was.

This was a solid hotel and definitely describes what I have come to expect from the La Quinta name — comfortable, modest, and clean. The room could use a little bit of updating. The bed was well worn and could stand to be replaced. Luckily, I don't mind a firmer mattress but I'm sure the majority of the population would prefer something a little softer. The hotel and room were clean and the staff was extremely polite and courteous — the gal who did my check in even called to make sure that the room was meeting expectations. You couldn't ask for a better location, either. It is an easy path from the highway to the hotel so that was nice, no one likes to finish off a long drive by getting lost looking for their hotel. There is a mall around the corner complete with a movie theater, Ross, and a wide variety of food places including an in-n-out. While small, it was a good place to walk around and stretch the legs after a long drive. The breakfast served was standard — waffles, pastries, cereal, fruit etc. — nothing extravagant but offers a variety for all tastes. I didn't walk away hungry and the coffee was good too so that always helps win my approval :) Overall, this was a solid hotel stay. I pass through Salt Lake quite frequently and will definitely be staying again. Just hope the mattress get updated at some point.

Service was fine. They were out of ice cream the whole time I was there. There was a dog a few rooms down from me the first night. It was barking for a very long time.

The bed was fabulous. Slept great. The hotel is not the cleanest or well maintained property. A little pricy for the level of non working amenities and upkeep.

Nice clean rooms, everyone on the staff was friendly, and eager to help you. Nice breakfast setup every morning.

Very nice. Staff very nice and helpful. Very clean throughout. Room spacious and comfortable and has endless hot water. Far enough away from freeway to keep from hearing road noises. I will be certain to stay here again on my next trip to SLC.

It was a pleasant stay & they came through at moments notice 4 me whn Country Woods gave my room away 15 min. B4 I showed.

You can do much better at other hotels in the area. Below are my reasons for the poor review: — Pillows had stains. — Air conditioner and fan control only worked sporadically. — Dresser/TV stand had a piece broken away on the bottom so it was tipped forward causing all the drawers to open. Someone taped them shut with scotch tape at some point. — Trash and toothpicks on the floor around the nightstand. — Bathroom fan was coming out of the ceiling. — Room door had a large gap at the bottom causing the room to be filled with light from hallway. — Phone was very dirty and yellowing. — Thin walls. Could hear people coming and going well into the AM hours.

Nice hotel, clean. Price is good. Easy to access. Breakfast was ok, though hot foods were cold. Computer didn't work in lobby. Staff let me use their computer to print boarding passes.

Great pool, & hot tub! Service was great and right next to a restaurant called the Sylvester which had this awesome turned ice cream, ohhh my God, soooo good! Y'all ought to try it when out there! Seriously!

The rooms were okay. They seem renovated but I'd still somewhat run down. Their breakfast selection was good though and the seating area was very nice, spacious and clean.

Great location with pleasant staff. The room and bathroom were very clean, though it is a little dated the beds remained comfortable. If you get up early enough, the variety of breakfast is better.

Every suite I've stayed in always consisted of a bedroom and a living area. This one is a basic room with a queen size bed and a Jacuzzi in the room. I feel the room is very overpriced I paid $160. However I will say the room and bathroom was very clean. Your breakfast is a basic continental breakfast with extra small cups for your juice.

We showed up from a 15 hour drive with 2 dogs 2 hours before check in. They were able to accommodate us and let us check in early. Location is right off the highway which is nice too. Very pet friendly. The room we got was very nice and clean. Had no issues and our overnight stay was enjoyable. Will stay here again when we drive this route again.

Rooms are ok, access is ok. Worst LQ breakfast ever. Not close to being ready at 7. Coffee and Hot water were from the day before. Burners for food just turned on at 7. Sausage, fake eggs and gravy all cold. Also as other poster stated, whole place smelled like curry. So employees are cooking their own food, just not getting things ready for paying guests.

When making my reservation online and being that I am from out of town, I had my husband call the hotel to make sure my reservation was made at the correct location. The woman could not find the reservation so I called another LA Quinta hotel. She quickly gave me the reservation confirmation number and said it was at the west valley city La Quinta. So I call the woman back and I tell her I have the confirmation number from another hotel who said my reservation is here. She finds it and gives me an attitude saying there is no way they could have even given me that information because they have no access to their reservations. Well she was wrong because she pulled it up with the reservation number I gave her then tells me as to why she did not find it the first time after giving her every detail of the reservation. When we get there there is a woman who is not very welcoming, but it was a quick check in so I did not care. My husband and I just got ready to go to a concert, came back and woke up, had breakfast which was fine. We get ready to check out and when I get home I find another woman's underwear in my bag. Probably from picking up the room in a hurry. I was so disgusted and called the hotel and the woman was no help. She did not even believe me and said that the cleaning team does a great job and she can reassure me that no one had access to our room. I don't know, but I felt like if they did so good of a job why did I bring home another womans underwear?

Room and facilities were decent, but there were no liners for the room garbage cans and the room smelled like stale curry the entire time we were there.

Too bad they don't have jetted tubs, I'd have paid an extra $10 — $15 for that. Otherwise it was a good night stay, with no issues and check in went really smooth.

Clean room and good service. Just wish the price was a bit cheaper.

Smelly, old, thin walls, loud people. Nothing like the LaQuinta I stayed in at Moab. Would never have booked at another LaQuinta had I stayed at this one first. Gross.

The worst experience there were 3 of us however the shampoo was for for 1 person. Not enough towels no blankets I had to ask for it. The receptionist on duty (Dec 13) hates her job and definitely doesn't understand what customers service means. NIGHTMARE, if customer service is important to you… definitely not the place.

The service offered by the front desk was great, but it is overshadowed by lacking cleanliness standards.

Great location, nice people. Hot breakfast is a plus.

This hotel was great! We brought our dogs and accommodating to pets, very good price. Awesome indoor pool and jacuzzi and fabulous breakfast variety. Will stay again. Stayed also in the Las Vegas location a couple of years ago as well and it was nice too.

Management at least apologized for a few issues. Not planning on returning. Enough said.

Last year I came here and stayed on Vacation and this year I came back because the people are so nice
The rooms are clean and comfortable
I have a lot of family that comes and visits me here and swims and they welcome them just the same way
I wouldn't stay any place else

Receptionist isn't polite or working under a business /salesman mannered, he doesn't discuss or anything, I would expect that from any indu or Asian anytime. Won't stay here ever.

Nice, friendly staff, clean, comfortable, well-appointed room, good experience; Never tried breakfast as I would leave in early morning and don't eat an average American type breakfast; I don't watch TV either; Wi-Fi worked well. Thanks, it made for a very comfortable stay, I'd return there again.

Great, plush, super comfortable beds, Tasty full breakfast including delicious waffles. Rug in the hall had some stains, drywall some dings, but the price and helpfull staff more than make up. I would not hesitate to return. Salt Lake City is a hard place to find a good price hotel — but now I feel Iv found my secret great deal. I guess it won't be secret for long.

Room was clean. But. Elevator floor tiles are cracked and chipped. Dark colored cauking is smeared around shower floor drain. Motion sensor operated lights above microwave oven turn on when I walk around the room at night. This wakes up my wife. Need a way of disabling this feature. Breakfast: no butter available for toast. No lids for coffee cups. (this leads to coffee being spilled on floor of elevator and hallways), fruit juice was room temperature, eggs were room temperature, water from "hot water" pitcher was not hot, only room temperature. Waste basket in breakfast room was overflowing.
