I can not believe the total lack of customer service! For two weeks now, I've been dealing with a false charge on our bill. $75 for a "missing" coffee maker and ice bucket. SORRY, we don't drink coffee, and while we stayed at the Murray UT location, 440 West 5300 South, the ice maker was out of order! So, we purchased our own ice. We also had to make several complaints about our room. Now, after almost 2 weeks. I've been dealing with a GM named KAHN who surprisingly doesn't have any paperwork about the said 'incident" and told me I would have to call corporate. So, I did. I was given a case # and told in 72 hours the issue would be resolved. So, two weeks later, after no calls, no emails, I am on the phone with corporate again, who is trying to get me to call the manager and resolve the issue. A. Why am I doing your job? b. It was all supposed to be handled two weeks ago. C. This ping pong game of calling the Utah GM, then calling corporate is BS! So, here is my resolution… I am calling all the media outlets in UTAH and Phoenix AZ, to investigate the fraudulent claim made by Choice Hotels owner. As this whole process began, I started doing research on reviews, etc and have nearly 50 complaints with the same MO — items missing from hotel rooms. I am sure there are more, as people don't check their bills or credit card statements monthly. As I write this, I just hung up with a woman at corporate — I can't even use the words customer service without laughing — and she just tried to call the GM in Utah, who (astonishingly) wasn't in! This woman told me I would get a call back today. Highly unlikely given the track record. So, I will contact my media outlets (amazing thing about being in PR, you have those contacts! ) and ask for the investigation departments, and see what we can do. I'm certain the bad press wouldn't affect their businesses… much!
