This is an alright place. It is new and rooms are clean. Not many rooms. It is small. But good location. It’s near Walmart Walgreens Burger King Taco Bell and a few other places. There are lots of homeless in the area.

This is a small old property which is getting pretty run down. Not up to Super 8 standards. Local management is very friendly. About 1 mile from Texas Tech. I will look elsewhere next time.

Rooms need to be renovated. Not sure if they have bed bugs as I saw no actual bugs but I saw many signs of them the shower curtain is riddled with the black spots from them. You would thinks they would get rid of anything that would point to them ever having them. Light bulbs burned out in one of the lamps and above the sink. The a. C. Unit looks older than me. Never saw bed bugs but it is worrying that these spots are on different items in the room.

Old style motel. The place is clean but quite run down. Some parts were broken, others poorly renovated. Worse than other Super 8.

Decent size rooms but needs more attention to details rooms were dirty shower head especially. Dirty dirty dirty!

Stained carpet, smoke detector chirping all night, broken light fixtures, steel furniture, bed pushed up against wall heater so thermostat wouldn't work, and charged my card another 25% after I checked out.

Generally a good place to stay out I stayed there twice and make sure you book online online you can get the room for like under 50 bucks if you go in person without making a reservation you can pay up to $150 I paid 78 without making a reservation.

Room was clean bed was comfortable, but toilet was so low it was like squatting over a hole in the ground.

Very good room and friendly people here.

Hateful Rude Staff — — Dirty Room. Bed spread wreaked of someone's body odor they refused to change it then made us leave.

Don't even bother. TERRIBLE service.

Very good place to stay for short visits. Close to Texas Tech University, good restaurants within walking distance as well as Walmart right across the street.

It was ok… the bed was awful, it felt like the top part of the bed was higher than the bottom. It was hard and couldn't sleep very good at all!

This place was run down and the main office really smelled bad decided not to stay based on smells and the paint fading.

Room was fine for an overnight stay and priced accordingly. The "free" breakfast didn't start early enough, but the management did provide some OJ.

This hotel was priced right. The room was clean and the staff was helpful. Just close enough to downtown and easy to see from the road.

If I could give it less than a one star I would. Checked in, walked into the room, and it smelt horribly. The stench was a mixture of B. O, pee from a drunken alley, and smoke (cigarette and burnt stale food). You can smell it before opening the door. The managers were extremely rude. I literally started checking in to another hotel as soon as I walked out the room shortly after walking into the room. I didn't put any of my stuff down. It was dusty. The keys barely open the door (had to call the manager to open the door), the area looks shady. Looked like a place for hookers to meet up with clients and such. I had booked two nights but could barely last ten minutes. Sadly, I was only able to get a refund for one night of my stay versus two nights after going back and forth with the manager. If you're a risk taker, this place is for you. Don't take any valuable items and block the room door. This is my personal opinion from the vibe I got from being there a couple of minutes and the service I received. I blame myself for not looking at the reviews properly. If you're going to spend the amount of money on this place, go a couple blocks away and get a room at the mcm elegante hotel. Better service, better rooms for the same price, a pool and complimentary breakfast.

The rooms are everything you can expect for a hotel like that. The location is pretty good near the university and a lot of restaurants.

My wife and I ate at the Pecan Grill in the Overton Hotel on Dec 29. It being very cold, we ordered soup for starters. Both the Onion and Cheddar and the Cheese and Cauliflower soups were great. While traveling with my mother who had reserved a room ahead of time, we firstly were not given the employee discount that my mother had printed out for our stay. Secondly, the quality of the room itself was sub-par, with the door being very difficult to open, a refrigerator that cooled very poorly, very cheap furniture, and only one trashcan in the entire room. While the beds were comfortable enough and the Wi-Fi was decent, the stay was overall quite unpleasant, even compared to other Super 8's I had stayed at.

DO NOT STAY HERE! For the love of sweet baby Jesus. Don't do this to yourself! There is no value in staying here.

Pay cash. Authorization hold on card not released for 2 weeks. Wi-Fi not all so good. But the people were real cooperative bout getting my money back. Worth the money it cost. No roaches or bedbugs.

Would never stay here again. Thought it would be a good chance to save some money, but it was not worth it. The lady at the front desk was very rude to me. The room was dirty and things were falling apart. Two of the outlets didn't work. The bathroom door wouldn't close all the way, but then it also would get stuck closed and was almost impossible to open. The only good things were that the bed was comfortable and that there was no fee for early check out.

The worst experience ever at a Super 8. They stole our things from the back of the truck, we asked for a non smoking and got a room that smelled exactly like a smoking bar, when asked to change rooms, they gave me a spray, I asked for a discount and the owner/manager said they would still rent it out to someone else and if I wanted to leave I could… Customer service was absolutely unacceptable… I would've left but all the other hotels were sold out… I discourage anyone who wants to stay here!

Horrible — smelly, small beds.

This is one of the most vile, disgusting places I have ever stayed at. Filthy. Just unspeakable. The owners seems almost brain dead. The cook in the office and it stinks of spices and BO. There is no excuse for this place being open. None.

This is the Super 8 located near the Civic Center. It was the nastiest, filthiest motel I've ever stayed in. When we first walked in the smell of mold coming from the air conditioner was enough to make us vomit, but that wasn't the end of it: there was a used Q-tip in the desk drawer, dried urine on the side of the tub, brown crusty crap on the blankets, stains on the carpets. The lamps on the wall between the beds didn't work, the lamp on the wall behind the TV was missing a bulb. The coffee maker had a rusty hot plate. And this wasn't the end of it: breakfast that morning was awful to say the least! Stale cereal, warm milk, no juice, and harder than rocks bagels! If your looking to stay at a motel near the Civic, I suggest that you steer very clear of this one.
