Review of Super 8 2*

We booked this hotel after reading recent reviews saying it was a good place to stay. We were disappointed when we arrived and the room was poorly lit. The arm chair in the corner also had stains on it. However, the worst part of the hotel was that the second morning there I woke up with bed bug bites all over me (I was bitten the first night also but the bites don't show up the first 24 hours) and we found a bed bug in the bed. I have unfortunately lived in an apartment full of bed bugs in the past so I identified the bites very easily. We informed the owners who were apologetic and then left the hotel quietly. The owners let us cancel the last two nights we were supposed to stay. Three weeks later my daughter woke up at home with bed bug bites and I found more on myself Christmas Eve. So despite throwing away our luggage and washing everything and drying it on hot, we apparently brought them home with us. Bed bugs only feed every several days and I am the only one in my family who gets obvious reactions to the bites so this is why it took us almost a month to discover them. Also, my in-laws found what appear to be bed bug bites on them and they live in a separate home so we are now looking into exterminating two houses which will cost approximately $2500. I don't usually write reviews but I wanted to warn others not to stay here or at least to learn about checking for bed bugs before bringing your stuff into the hotel room. Even five star hotels get bed bugs so you need to check any bed before you stay there. We made a HUGE mistake by not checking ourselves and now we are going through a lot of stress and losing a lot of money as the result.
