Reviews of Courtyard 3*
Staff is so helpful and have great manners. Being from the south, this is one of the main things I look for in a Hotel — respect and manners. Highly recommend.
¡Me encanta! Closed to many place. We have a good time in this hotel and around the area 🙌🏼😂
The staff were all very nice! Helpful with providing directions to various sites, and very welcoming. Would highly recommend this hotel! Great location too!
Hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. If you go out on a short trip and only have carry on luggage don’t worry about shower and hair products as they have these in the bathrooms. I would go back to the Hotel again for a stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to family and friends.
I am a frequent visitor to this property and would strongly reccommed it to any prospective guest. Great location. Wonderful staff!
It is close to everything that I really like. Locations locations locations.
Nice hotel, pleasant staff, the glass mosaic in the reception is gorgeous. My only grip was my room wasn’t ready until 4pm, it says it on the contract but most hotels have the room ready between 2pm and 3pm. I only stayed one night and didn’t have breakfast.
Let me start this review off by saying I’m not in the habit of giving establishments bad reviews. I love to highlight the good/great in the places I visit.
As a Gold Elite Marriott member, I’m accustomed to being able to access a lobby restroom when I’m traveling, typically because I’m with my children. Today I walked into this Marriott and asked for the lobby restroom and was told by a rude desk associate, “only letting you use it because of the kids”. He sends us down the stairwell to two restrooms that were both dirty. After using them my family and I noticed that an elevator was within the vicinity.
I told this young man upon exiting that it was rude of him to preface giving us directions to the restroom with “only because of the kids. ” He proceeded to
argue with me — never apologized — clearly not up to Marriott standards. If this is how the front desk treats potential guests, I’m afraid as to how they treat people who actually stay here. This is not a Marriott my family and I would EVER patronize.
This was a nice property
But only problem was of room service
Everything u need to do of your own
But cozy rooms.
Great location! One block away from Penn Station.
The rooms are too small and it was too many bums on the street.
The Courtyard at SoHo is located right off of MacDougal Street. It's really an ideal location for a hotel down in the village. 5 to 10 minute walk to everything pretty much. The facility was very nice new clean Etc. The staff was friendly. Great experience. 5 out of 5 stars.
The hotel is in a prime walking location for a host of sights in Manhattan. My first day was spent foraying into the city, south to the Freedom Tower and north to Central Park. It was convenient to be able to rest at the hotel between excursions and the staff was very friendly. I rented a single queen room and found it to be comfortable, but fairly average. The room was not spacious, which caused the layout to suffer some. For example, when the wardrobe was open it was impossible to walk across the room (the wardrobe door opened flush to the bed). The bathroom was simple, but fully functional. I found the water pressure to be consistent and pleasing. The shower head was adjustable and I never ran out of hot water. The shampoo did make my scalp tingle/burn, so if you have sensitive skin keep that in mind. Overall, I was very pleased and would stay here again.
Clean room and building. Pleasant staff. Comfortable and quiet night's sleep.
Small, hotel. Room was big. Got stuck in elevator. Rather pricy. Great location though. Their website didn’t let me add an extra night despite them having extra rooms.
We checked in about 1:00PM on Friday and were greeted by a lovely woman at the desk that said… “Sorry, we oversold the two — bed rooms so we are going to have to give you two one-bed rooms for the same price”. I held my breath because this happened before and I was offered a King bed room with a beautiful upgrade, I didn't know if my friend would be opposed to sharing a bed. Well, we didn't have to. We had our own rooms. They were adjoining so it was like a two room suite with 2 bathrooms. Worked out wonderfully. The staff was super friendly during our entire stay including the person that brought up an extra blanket at 12:00AM. Will stay again!
Very good place! Very good location in the city. Rooms are small but clean. The beds are very good. Super staff team! Breakfast is small but the team makes up and gives you super start into your day.
It was a perfect experience. Facilities were modern, clean, and comfortable. It was a perfect Oasis to go back to after a long day exploring the city. Location was central to everything we wanted to see and there are plenty of food options nearby. The only thing I didn't like is that the conditioner in the shower ran out and it wasn't replenished by housekeeping the next day. That's not even worth taking half a star off though.
Small no very small but nicely appointed rooms Location is great especially if using public transportation. Nice staff but could call first before sending cancellation over a credit card information. But staff worked to rectify.
Stayed here in April of 2018 for a week. Decent location, as we were in Chelsea for a college visit for my son. The surrounding neighborhoods can be a bit sketchier than say around Times Square, where we stayed on our last visit. Other than that, the room was clean and the staff was nice. Bonus: we arrived early on our first day to make the most of our trip, and or room was ready for us to drop off our luggage and rest for a minute before heading out into the city. That was priceless after a long flight and Uber ride.
The bed is very comfortable and the room is a good size, not to small. Room service was quick to bring us blankets when asked. There was a stain on one of the sheets however.
We always stay at Marriott hotels and this hotel is another reason why. Our room was excellent and it has easy access off the Holland tunnel. It's a great location if you want to go north into the times square area and lower Manhattan on the same visit.
Great location
Very clean
In my room he didn't take the phone line of the American cell phone that European.
Nice rooms. My coworker and I had trouble sleeping. Towels are scratchy.
Great city view (18th floor), close to Subway lines, and food and shopping is with reasonable walking distance.
Service was great… breakfast was crap though. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly. Views were great. The worst thing is that it's located about 100' (or seemed like) from the damn tunnel entrance. The traffic really backs up in front of the place. You have to walk a block to catch a cab which can be problematic with luggage. It's even a bitch to use Uber because they still have to get to the front of the place.
I stayed here last year in the summer. Location was good for me. Close to everything, while not being in the overcrowded tourist trap area. You are close to Old Navy, mama papa businesses. Right down the street from eyebrow salon, etc. Rooms are small, but the bathroom is super ample! Right across the NYC police station. Felt very safe. Staff is very nice and helpful. I plan to. Return, again.
We had a great stay here. The room was clean, the service was great, and we had no issues. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a convenient place to stay in Manhattan.
I really like the location and the shopping and restaurant options around here. The views are pretty good if you can get a room in the higher floors. It's been newly renovated so it has a pleasant contemporary feel. The fitness center is decent. The gift shop is pretty limited but you can visit a local convenience store for more option, which is not far away. The bar on the top floor is pretty nice too.
I was staying at another hotel during this trip. This hotel was so much nicer than the other one. The hotel had blackout curtains, enough plugs, good shower, spacious and nice fresh looking rooms. The only improvement point would be… Please provide tea bags. I like tea more.
The location was very convenient and heart to offices, shops, and restaurants. It was very nice inside with great service and it provided a great space for the meeting we had set up. A very professional setting with out being too plain.
Really great location a half block from the 1, 2, 3 train. You can get to the Newark airport in under thirty minutes (more if there is traffic). There are a couple of starbucks, pharmacys, and great restaurants with in a couple of blocks. The staff was always nice and helped with recommendations. The rooms were small, but all rooms in NYC are small. The rooms were clean and the cleaning staff was great! The neighborhood quited down at night, but the subway could be heard, so if you are a really light sleeper dont get a street view room. The elevators were fast, and you didn't have to wait long like some other hotels. I would stay again.
. All reviews seen were fair and accurate. Courtyard by Marriott pride themselves on uniform "experiences" and pretty much always deliver on this Mission Statement. Staff is friendly, helpful and courteous. .
Excellent! The location was excellent. That's great!
Great location (right next to the Houston Street metro stop) and new-feeling, surprisingly spacious rooms. The surrounding area is pretty diverse and has lots of different options. I would definitely stay at this hotel again the next time I visit NYC.
Great stay! We arrived at 9pm from Virginia and stayed here solely to rectify a passport issue the next day which is close to the hotel. When we arrived at 9pm, Edwin was there to provide us with a friendly greeting and a sympathetic ear as I shared with him our difficulty at the airport with my son's passport. The next day we were able to successfully rectify the issue with the passport and called down to reception to ask for an additional hour to check out as a courtesy as we were exhausted from the day prior. The help desk attendant, unhesitantly provided this request to us; which I super appreciated the fact that this hotel really value there customers and not just a profit! Will definitely stay here again!
Really nice remodeled room. Super cheerful and attentive staff. Walking distance to many cool venues and restaurants.
The best thing is its location. The rooms are modest and could improve the maintenance. Breakfast is deplorable, MALISIMO!
Absolutely recommended, excellent value for money, very convenient location.
An absolute gem of a hotel! A great find. Nice room, recently updated. Half-block to the subway. The friendliest staff I've ever experienced in NYC.
Hotel was only 1/2 block from the bus drop off and at $120 /night for Midtown the price could not be better. We had a king size bed which took up most of the room, but the bed was comfortable and we were mainly in the room to sleep. Good size bathroom with a great shower — you could easily adjust and it was good pressure. The only negative was a constant low volume high pitch noise from the heating system. It didn't bother me but my wife said it kept her awake.
Convenient to getting around Manhattan by subway for a play, shopping and restaurants. Staff was friendly, rooms are clean and there's a Starbucks in the lobby! We checked out, but were able to leave our luggage at the hotel until our bus left mid-day. A convenient and enjoyable stay.
A fantastic hotel in a superb location. It’s within walking distance of MSG, Penn Station, Times Square and a Target/Kmart which are very much needed for all your shopping needs such as toiletries etc. The staff are excellent as are the staff in the kitchen restaurant. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, modern rooms which are clean and kept clean throughout your stay. It’s also in a very safe location directly opposite a police station!
I love the Marriott chain and have stayed at just about every kind (JW, Courtyard, Moxy, etc. ) And this is your run of the mill courtyard Marriott. The rooms are good size even with a king bed, and have great amenities in the electronics/entertainment area. Recommend this for a business Traveller for sure, but probably not for tourists. It's just not a standard NYC hotel. No bar, no doorman for cab hailing, no breakfast, and so on.
Good for price. Valet parking. Near great neighborhoods, shopping, and food. Traffic can be bad in area because of tunnel traffic.
My view so was amazing corner room top floor is everything.
Great location, and good room size. Staff is very friendly, and the hotel is often a good value. Linens could use a refresh, but otherwise, this is a good hotel.
Super friendly staff. I always choose to stay here when I'm in the area. It'd a newer hotel, perhaps a couple years old now. They've don't a good job keeping the "newness" if the hotel. The rooms are clear and staff accommodating. Will stay here again in the future. Certainly worth a look if you're looking for accommodations in the area.
Great location. Exactly what you expect from a Marriott courtyard. Simple but clean and affordable. The access to Penn station and subway is perfect. Lots of restaurants and coffee shops in a few block radius and easy walk to Times Square.
Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Rooms and hallways feel nice and private. You need a room card to go up on the elevator from the lobby, and you need a room card to get into the building late at night, so it feels very safe. Beautiful bathrooms (especially the shower; the King room I stayed in did not have a bathtub), cozy room. Not much of a view but I didn't stay in my room much so I didn't mind. The King room had a safe to lock valuables in. The only negative is it was very busy (Thanksgiving week) and during prime check-in hours the elevators took a LONG time to get there. If you can take the stairs then it would be okay.
Descent location for the price they ask for. The rooms were clean and pretty happy with the available services. Calling the front desk wasn't as responsive as I'd like tough. Might check out in the future if the price is right.
The Hotel is very close to the centre. It allows you to get to much of Manhattan directly on foot, and the metro station is still close by.
positive:
Location
Excellent room cleaning
Breakfast service offered by Starbucks on the ground floor, with friendly and helpful staff
Free Gym
Negative:
No Minibar in the room
Unbearable and continuous noise for the presence of a pub on the lower floor. Music until late hours loud to the point of vibrating the room (! )
Indecent heating system: temperature rising and descending with a range of different degrees. Very noisy.
Carpet Making Dusty House
No bar service during the day. There is only a small fridge in reception to buy drinks and snacks.
Reception staff who didn't even smile by mistake. To our notes regarding the strong (unbearable) noise they responded with a "Eh I know, sorry".
Stayed here on a recent business trip. Room was quite comfortable, a little smaller than I would've like, but the bed was relaxing, noise level was tolerable, given that it was New York City. The bathroom was nice and cleaned and the shower was good. Only thing I had issue with was the lack of a hotel directory/welcome book explaining some the hotels amenities. It would have been nice to know that there is only one ice machine in the hotel and it's on the basement floor, right next to the fitness center and the laundry, which I didn't know were there. Other than that small detail, hotel was nice & clean. The staff was wonderful and I wouldn't mind staying here again.
Stayed at the Courtyard for a couple of nights. Room was spacious, stocked with the usual bathroom amenities, and very clean. It was odd that there was no master light switch for the room, and so I was initially fumbling around by the light from the television. The bed was very comfortable, though being a third-floor room, I did notice a bit of traffic noise and a bit of rumbling from what might have been the subway. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Check-in and check-out were both very quick. Didn't have a chance to use these, but there was a business centre and gym on site.
Friendly staff. Clean rooms with every thing I needed. Good offerings in the fitness room. Breakfast offerings and wine and beer available for purchase. Convenient location.
My very first stay at this Courtyard Marriot location. It is a nice and clean hotel. There is a Bistro type restaurant inside the hotel and I do believe you have to pay to eat here which is not a problem with me. The room I stayed in was on the 19th floor. The rooms are kind of small but adequate for 2 people. The bathroom was a nice size and the shower was big enough to fit 2 people. There is also a bar/grill right next door to the hotel but I did not eat there so I'm unable to give a review. I stayed at this location because the price was right for that weekend and the location was good for me.
Very well located for anyone traveling through Penn Station. Newer facility (built in 2013 or so). Staff very courteous though it took three tries to get the extra towels we requested. Minor maintenance issues with room: a number of electrical outlets did not work.
I stayed here on two separate occasions and this is the worst Marriott that I have been to in terms of service. The first time I came, I requested for early check-in (which I understand is not always guaranteed) and the front desk confirmed that the room was not available. It was fine. As we were about to head out, my friend needed to pump and I asked if there was an area in the hotel for her to do so instead of having her do it in the bathroom. He calls his manager and sudde…nly a room has now become available. Why was it not available when I checked in? The second time I stayed here, I booked two rooms. Again, I requested early check-in. When we arrived, the rooms were not available. That was perfectly fine as it is not a guarantee. However, we came back at 5pm to check in and only one of our two rooms were available. Check-in time for this hotel is 4pm. Again, this was fine. As we were heading to the elevator, I noticed that the front desk only gave me one key, so I turned back to ask for an additional key. This was when he told me the second room is available. Within a span of less than 5 mins, we had an available room. I stay frequently at Marriott for work and it's my preferred choice and have never had an issue until now. I don't expect that the room should be available for early check-in; however, I do expect that the room be available after the check-in time.
Hotel is very nice and clean. Room is a little smaller than I'm used to, but bed is very comfortable. Not a problem for me, but no bath, just shower. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
Very good customer service, room very clean comfortable bed. Great staff Francisco was awesome. This was my first visit to New York couldn't have picked a better place to stay.
Good hotel for the money. To many places in city center nearby, subway nearby. The Windows are not on the noise in most situations.
Excellent stay! very happy with the customer service and very thankful to Brandon for booking our rooms being so accommodating! the location is very good and love the Soho area. Lots of restaraunts and places for delicious drinks. The rooms are very nice… renovated and a good size. I am looking forward to future stays at the Courtyard Soho!
I stayed here for one night on 9/14/17 and the hotel is in a great location. Not being from NY, when it said Chelsea, it threw me off and I was not sure how close it was to times square and my family was staying at the Renaissance so I booked this hotel for one night only because I found the Courtyard New York Manhattan/Central for a cheaper rate and when I did mapquest it was closer to the Renaissance. Well knowing what I know now I wish I would have stayed at this location instead of moving to the Central location. This location is down by Madison Square Garden and is right there at Times Square. Yes, it would have been about 5-7 more mins walking from this hotel to the Renaissance but they are both nestled close to Times Square. But again, the Chelsea part threw me off. This location room was a little bigger than the central park location and I also liked the shower better at this location. If I was to stay in times square again I would choose this location. I'm sure there are some better ones, but for the price and accessibility to times square I would pick this hotel. Front desk was also friendly!
Nice room, good service, no pool but that's okay.
The best hotel I've ever been to, luxury facilities, very professional staff.
Great location and friendly staff, the room was reasonable big and very clean, gym is OK and open for 24hrs some treadmills, bikes and dumbbells. Where not sure of how much do you tip a bell boy for taking your bags to the lobby from the cloakroom, we read that its $1 per bag. When you change your money ask for 20/30 $1 bill, this always comes in handy for you arrival. Happy tipping :)
Went to New York for a four day weekend during Labor Day 2017. We stayed at Marriott Courtyard So/Ho and in was perfect in many ways. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was clean, our room was a good size for the three of us. However, the best part was that the location. This Courtyard was centrally located to all the places we wanted to visit, and the subway stations were within a short walking distance. We even got a late (4pm) checkout on the day were scheduled to fly back. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back.
Took my 2 girls to NYC via Amtrak. Selected this hotel due to it's location to Penn Station. Great hotel location for walking to the train and shopping. We saw a play and were able to walk to it no problems. Booked a king room with sleeper chair. More than enough room for us. The sleeper chair was only large enough for one and it was not as comfortable as the bed but it was fine for our 5 nights there. Room did have a fridge, went to walgreens (open 24 hours), picked up cereal, fruit and milk for breakfast each morning. Would stay here again!
Actually got a room for my children and one for me. Both were nice. I had a shower stall. They had a bath. Refrigerators in the room and outlets in the light fixtures next to the beds. Great location with a 1 stop only 50 yards away.
Great staff, great location, very clean.
Overall a nice hotel in Manhattan. Service, as in most Marriott's was fantastic, warm and welcoming. My only real complaint are the poorlyvdesigned showers (at least in my room) the door opened out and at the end of the shower, so there was no way to turn the water on or adjust the temperature without actually being in the shower.
Service has been wonderful. I had requested a fridge to store my breast milk in (which is in all rooms) and although there is no freezer to store my ice packs, they've been very kind to store them in their personal fridge. Had to call engineering once and they came right away and solved my problem. Rooms are clean and decently sized. Location has been great and close to everywhere I needed to be.
Never have I stayed in a hotel with ZERO problems until now. I am very picky about cleanliness, so take it from me, this hotel is clean. At other hotels, I come back in the middle of my day and the room still isn't cleaned. My family came back (from breakfast) one morning to get ready for our day, and we caught the housekeeper… get this… mopping our bathroom floor! The room was already almost done. The room was small, but very clean. The beds were comfy cozy! The staff greeted us when we came in every time with a "Welcome Back! " and when we left it was, "Enjoy your day! " They were all so very sweet and helpful. The location was ideal because it was within walking distance of many of the major attractions that you want to see. The only time we took a taxi was the day we visited the Statue of Liberty and 9/11 Memorial. It is also a block away from Penn Station, which has subway service to anywhere you want to go! The hotel you choose when vacationing can make or break your visit. This hotel is a perfect choice to ensure that you have a smooth and unforgettable NYC experience. We did, and I hope you do too!
Refreshing pleasant smell as you enter the lobby. Helpful guest services people, comfortable rooms. Very nice overall!
Great location, good rooms. Love the new showers. Staff is top notch. Taxis can be somewhat scarce and as a previous reviewer wrote the subway is close. Good dining nearby. I would probably stay here and use the subway rather than staying in Times Square area.
The maid service could be better when refreshing the rooms. Concierage was really friendly. Great location.
Very nice staff. The rooms are clean and walk in shower is amazing.
On arrival, staff were very friendly and provided me with a lot of information of areas of where I should visit. Rooms were very clean, had a big screen television was available. Beds were very comfy. Hotel was located in a very good area, close to the main areas I wanted to see. Would recommend it.
Location was great. Convenient to transport and tourist areas. Room was clean and new. Service was with a smile. No complaints. We were also able to check in really early, and we're able to therefore make the most of the day. That was certainly appreciated!
Excellent location very friendly and helpful staff.
Modest room, decent location but the traffic out front is horrendous and noisy, less than ideal elevators.
The rooms are small.
I love the Courtyard. Every location I have been in has had clean rooms, nice amenities and friendly professional staff. You could not beat the location to get to shopping and dining, everything I wanted was in walking distance. First time coming to NYC on my own. EVERYONE at this Courtyard was professional and helpful. They always had smiles and greeted me from when I got out of my car, entered or departed the property. Staff was a big help: Checked in and asked for di…rections for my event location and made me less anxious for when I needed to find it. I was up for an event, was on my feet all day and wore the WRONG shoes. When I came hobbling in the nice young man at the front desk asked if he could get me ice for my "barking dogs". I did not take him on it but it was sweet of him to ask. I am stubborn that way. Housekeeping very flexible to stopping back to clean room. Loved that I was able to treadmill at 10:30pm! The Courtyard Manhattan/Soho staff made a pleasant and empowering stay. I will book this property again if/when I am in Manhattan/Soho. Recommending to this property to friends, family and corporate contacts.
Great hotel, clean rooms. Real Starbucks in lobby. Chante and Ramon who work the night shift are awesome. We flew in from L. A. And got in super late around 3am and hungry. They had cup a noodle in the little pantry and Chante and Ramon went over and above the call of duty, heating up some water for us and making sure we had everything we needed. Over the top customer service. We stayed for a week and absolutely nothing to complain about.
I consider Marriott's Courtyard brand the best value and setup for business travelers. This particular location offers a great location, updated clean rooms, larger rooms than other hotels in the city and a really friendly staff. By far the best value in Chelsea | HK.
The people who atenderam me a very bad foramen.
It was great the rooms were spotless service four star! My wife and I could get a reservation at the Palm so Christian at front desk got us in to a local French cafe and food was the best! We plan to return this summer to explor some more!
Nice and clean room, roomy bathroom. Nothing special but good quality. Good location if you like jazz. Smalls and Village Vanguard easy walk from the hotel. One of the better experiences in NYC and good value for the money.
Location! Location! Location!
Extremely Clean bath and room!
White towels
White sheets and pillows
Fast Check In /Checkout
Confortable place to have breakfast
Safe zone, Police station in front of you

Excellent attention, but always missing a towel.
This hotel is not bad. The interior is beautiful. Room is also nice but small. They don't have complimentary breakfast which I'm accustomed to at other Marriott hotels. They also don't have any special treatment for status member.
Good hotel with polite staff. Rooms are decent size and very clean and are either new or renovated. The price seems lower than other hotels in the area which might be because of the police station outside which can have sirens go off during the night. The location is terrific with many things within walking distance and little foot traffic. If the price starts the same I will probably stay here again.
We had a wonderful stay at the Courtyard Marriott. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and made for the perfect location to rest from all of our Manhattan adventures. The location is incredible!
Close to Penn station. Feels like a smaller courtyard. Room was basic and small. You can hear some of the street nose, but overall ok hotel.
Great location close to Houston Station Subway wonderful restaurants in SoHo very friendly staff.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Location was ideal although the room is pretty bare and small.
I stayed here for 2 nights for work, and this was one of the better hotels I have stayed in the city. The premises was very clean and well taken care of by the staff. The staff eas very friendly whenever they saw a guest walk in or out of the hotel, which was a nice surprise. Even when I checked in the young lady was friendly, and that usually only happens after they find out I am a Platinum memeber, but she was pleasant the entire check in process. The location is the best, you are close to everything: Times Square, Meat Packing District, Hudson Riverway Trail, Central Park, the perfect hotel for the city.
Our room was spacious, clean and had a nice view. The front desk staff were welcoming and courteous. We would happily stay here again on our next visit to New York.
The pictures don't lie, the hotel it's like new. Very clean and great customer service, we were able to leave our bags with them after checking out to explore the city. Would highly recommend. P. S. Right in front its the NYPD.
Soho Marriott was clean, well appointed and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating. There was a bit of street noise bit not much they can do about that except maybe install a white noise machine.
Very close to Penn Station. We rode Amtrak in to Penn Station and this hotel was perfect. It was so close we could casually walk to the hotel. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. There is also a police station across the street so you know you're staying in a safe spot.
Was great until we returned to the room on Sunday afternoon to find out we were locked out. Had to sit in the hallways with my 1 year old who was cranky and wanted to rest, how wonderful was that. Found out they said the credit card didn't go through. Something they could have taken up with us at check out. Surprise suprise when checking online banking which said charge pending… not declined. Oh did I mention the hotel had pending charges on my card which exceeded my bill. Had to spend hours down at the front desk trying to clear it up. Which by the way nothing got cleared up. Way to freaking ruin my trip to NYC Marriott. Ohhh did they offer anything to try and rectify their awful treatment of me and my family… Nope. With this awful treatment of their customers This will be the last time I stay at any Marriott. Would not recommend this hotel. Update. Manager called to offer no resolution to the situation. I had to ask for an apologize, how rude. Yea I get that I was cussing… I would like to meet a mom in my shoes who wouldn't drop 1-2 f-bombs about being treated that way. Come on you locked me and my 1 year old out of my room and lied about trying to get a hold of me. Decided that I would rather leave then stay there another night after that Treatment. Word of advice to tourist who have a small town bank that only authorizes payments on cards during the week. May want to think twice about staying here. May find yourself locked out of your room.
Some NYC hotels feel like train stations with the number of people filing in and out. This Courtyard feels the exact opposite. They can't have that many rooms, so the public areas are relaxing and the staff actually remember your name. The rooms are actually a pretty good size for NYC, and frankly I think the location is killer. Just a block to tons of great restaurants and the fun neighborhoods of Soho, the Village, little Italy, etc.
Update: I initially gave this hotel a three star for the reasons stated below but now I am adding a star for the hotel's effort to improve their customer service. I received a phone call from the hotel manager the next day. She had read the review and wanted to assure us that the front desk staff will improve their services. I appreciate the hotel reaching out and trying to make changes to provide better services to clients. We are willing to give it another try on our next trip as it is so close to our daughter's dorm, and we love the cleanliness of the room and the doorman's friendly and helpful services. Original Review: We just checked into Courtyard Chelsea for the 3rd time in the last few years. Unfortunately, we again received a disappointing welcome from the front desk staff. We have a Marriott Gold Elite membership, which comes with room upgrades and other complimentary benefits at other Marriott hotels. But at this Chelsea Courtyard, not only have we never received any room upgrades but we are made to feel like they are doing us a huge favor by letting us stay here. Today, at check in, we were given no information about the hotel: where the gym was, how to access the free Wi-Fi, no other decent greetings. The front desk staff asked for our last name and gave us room keys and that was it. We had trouble getting access to Wi-Fi and we didn't even want to ask how, as the staff seemed reluctant to help. It's like this every time we stay here.
Great hotel and location! Very friendly and helpful staff. I will be going back!
Located close to Penn. Station and easily walkable. Staff is friendly and helpful. Good place to stay.
I would like to extend some compliments to the management and staff of the Chelsea Marriott located at 135 W 30th St in Manhattan. My family and I travel extensively and visit Manhattan annually always looking for the best deal on hotels. We got a "deal" online for this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised when we pulled up that the doorman met our Uber in the street and unloaded our bags for us. He held the door as well when we walked in. We arrived very early, around 9:30 am and our room was ready. We were excited to get settled in so quickly. As we walked to the elevator we noticed how aromatic the flowers smelled only to realize later that they were fake :). We felt silly but appreciated the detail. As we turned the corner to step onto the elevator we saw how large the lounge was… an unusual feature for a hotel in this price range in Manhattan. When we stepped into room 1207 we found our space to be so clean and well-maintained. I am quite picky with cleanliness and this is a constant complaint of mine, so much so that I carry disinfecting wipes when I travel so I can clean the room upon arrival. This wasn't needed for the first time EVER! Every time we came in and out of the hotel we were greeted by the friendly staff. We requested an extra blanket for the pullout chair and it was quickly brought to our room. We asked for advice on having pizza delivered… great experience there too!
The hotel is located on a calmer street by comparison within a block or two from Penn Station and the Madison Square Garden. The rooms are a decent size and very clean. Unfortunately, every movement by the elevator is heard from inside the rooms. The overall experience with the staff was very satisfactory.
Great room. Great hotel. I was able to leave my luggage with the hotel the day of check out, as I toured NYC that day. Great experience. If I were to have one negative comment, hair dryer was way too powerful.
Should make packages with breakfast is the only thing rest 100% recommended.
