We had a fantastic stay at the hotel. Neil the shuttle driver for the fair was enjoyable and kept the travel quick in and out of heavy traffic. Will plan on staying next year.

Friendly staff, very clean room, and decent breakfast if you want continental food. The hot food is all premade microwave eggs and pancakes. The hotel is older and shows some wear so we we're initially concerned about the room. We were happy and would come back again.

The hotel Staff was wonderful. The concert my wife and I attended got out much later then expected. The hotel was done running a shuttle service so we thought we were stranded. We called and they still made it happen by calling in a driver who was off. He was very pleasant and didn't seem to mind doing this for us at all. Great experience.

I rate hotels on three factors, safety, cleanliness and affordability, and the Clarion gets positive checks for each. That said, the hotel is showing its age (though some reno's have been done there was a huge water stain on my room ceiling). The rate was higher than one would expect but since it was during the State fair, event pricing was in effect. Breakfast was a nice touch.

The Clarion was a fantastic hotel. Wonderful for the price. The room was INCREDIBLY clean and the beds were very comfy. There was a mini fridge, a flat screen, a nice shower head, and plenty of towels.

Room was downstairs and curtains were not good. Breakfast was ok only have a few options in breakfast. Staff were good. Coffee maker is in bathroom.

We chose this hotel because it has an outdoor pool. We went to go check it out, only to find a padlock and no water. The guide in our room says it is open summer, 9am to dusk. It is June, and that's summer. We went to the front desk, where there was another unhappy customer, to ask when summer started. The clerks response was, "I don't know". I said, there's no water in the pool. She said no, maintenance hasn't summerized it yet, it needs to be painted and cleaned. The other unhappy customer said, it sounds like maintenance is behind on a lot of stuff here. The welcome book also says to call the front desk if you want a fridge or microwave. We already had a fridge and I did call for a microwave. Her response was, I'll see if we have one. 45 minutes later, nothing! No microwave and no call back. This is just our first night here. Can't wait to see what else is going to be wrong and messed up. Thankful we are only stuck here 2 nights. Do not stay here.

Very bad experience! They told us there would be a pool but the pool was closed the whole time we stayed (3 days). No laundry soap for the washers they have availabe for guests to use. Our shower didn't drain so you're ankle deep in water the entire time. Not a very clean place either. I will never stay there again. The pictures online look alot better then what it's like when you get there.

Great staff at check-in and at the bar. They even fulfilled my joke request to put a framed picture of Bill Murray somewhere in the room! We had a king suite on the second floor and it was great. Bed was super comfy. Friends in a king room on the first floor said their room was a little musty, but they weren't overly concerned about it for one night.

The place was a bit less then what I expected but at least had a comfortable bed. Odd choices like leaving coffee maker in the bathroom bothered me. Breakfast bar was ok, but can't complain too much for the overall price.

Came here for a talk in the basement. Relatively clean, when I was leaving the restaurant/bar was pretty active.

Good place to crash for a night on the way to NYC.

My Fiance and I just wanted to enjoy a night outside of the house, with no kids. It was just supposed to be a simple get away. Not only was the food crapy, but there was toothpaste or something on the cup in the bathroom. The main reason I will never return to this location is when my Fiance and I woke up in the morning, we noticed a speck of old blood on the blanket. Which was previously covered by a top layered sheet. As we pulled that sheet back further, the entire corner of the blanket was covered in spatters of old blood. I felt so disgusted that we didnt even notice it until the morning. This is the main reason I am skeptical about hotels, but I visited once before & didnt have this problem. I am even more apauled at the fact that they only wanted to offer me 20% off of the room at first. Then they offered $20 more dollars off. After being so inconvenienced with something so disgusging, my entire stay should have been comped. At least then maybe there would have been a chance of me returning in the future. I am highly disappointed.

Fast, polite check-in, clean and comfortable room. Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and coffee.

Great stay and great staff. Arrived at the hotel and the first person there gave us a bigger room because we had a toddler with us. Came back from Disney on Ice and realized we didn’t pack the pack and play or a wine opener so the guy up front found us a pack and play and called his manager who showed up with a brand new wine opener. Room is clean my daughter is happy great place to stay.

Decent hotel, room was mostly clean but had a slight smell. Facility itself was large with a selection of amenities. Desk associate was friendly. Overall an OK place to stay for a night, would likely not want to stay for an extended period of time. The lack of multiple floors could lead to a lot of walking if you get stuck with a bad room. The price is alright, and the location is adequate. You have access to restaurants and shopping areas within a few miles, but not much in the direct area. Again, overall not a bad place to stay.

Some of the staff is extremely rude. I noticed that my comforter was dirty and went to the front to get a new one. I got told that it will be change the next day. The next day it was still the same. The house keeping lady told me it was "clean. It had yellow stains that looks like it's been there for a while, red lipstick on it on both sides. It took them three days to clean it. The restroom vents you can see that it's extremely dirty and nasty. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone.

Room, TV, longe area are all good. Had a positive experience. The bagel toaster was not very good at toasting.

Hotel room was clean and very comfortable. Restaurant had limited menu and some items were unavailable. Price was reasonable. Would stay here again.

Good value hotel. Older hotel, but in great condition. Free breakfast was good. The staff is very friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

The Clarion was clean and kept nice. The breakfast left a little to be desired but it was free so it was good! Beds were comfy. The counter in the bathroom seemed super short which was weird but I'm also tall.

Stayed here on a business trip, and I wouldn't stay here again. The hotel had a funky smell to it, and I wasn't the only one to think that. I overheard another guest report to the front desk that she could smell mold in her room. The main reason I originally chose this hotel was because it has a fridge and microwave in room and a gym, although the gym severely disappointed me. The gym appeared it had barely been used in years — — the cable machine was not fully functional with its attachments & the treadmills were out of commission as the belt stuck when walking on it. I was also disappointed that the hotel did not send me my receipt after check out, even though I requested at the front desk that they do, and they informed that they would later that day, so I had to call in the following day to request again that they do. Overall, this hotel is reasonably priced per night, I wouldn't expect much at the price point.

The room was amazing for the price, bed was super comfortable. The free breakfast wasn't bad either, eggs were a little weird, but overall satisfied.

We enjoyed our stay. It was very clean and comfortable. We will probably stay here again when we are back in the area.

Bathroom and bathtub was very dirty. There were boogers on the wall, hair in the bathtub. No vent in the bathroom. The air conditioner in the room was very loud. The roll away bed we paid for was absolutely awful, the most uncomfortable thing ever created. The temperature in the bar was so hot, we couldn't stay longer than one drink. We could smell people smoking in the room next to us.
On the positives, the room was large and the beds were comfortable. Check in was easy. Price was fair.

5 stars, offered upgrade to suite for no extra charge, free breakfast, free shuttle to NYS Fair, owner is friendly and accommodating.

Came here for the Brantley Gilbert concert and the staff was rude, our bathroom in our room had bleach on the counter top which bleached my black sweater, and one of the comforters was torn. For $200 a night, I am very unsatisfied and plan to call corporate! Not pleased at all!

Great location. The room was clean and staff was pleasant. The price was also reasonabl and the breakfast was nice. Rooms could use some updating, though.

It's on the older side and could use some TLC but it was clean and comfortable (and I am picky about hotel cleanliness). Staff was friendly. Free breakfast was adequate… as it was free ;) Nice that they offer it and I did partake. If in the area I'd likely stay there again. Oh, and pet friendly.

The breakfast was good. We were quoted a different price on phone than what we were charged. We called twice and they told us $74.99 but we were charged $94.99 it was late I had no other option so I went with it. The room was clean. Bed was decent but bathroom tub can use cleaning.

Bed was comfortable, bit of a drive to everything. Faucets do not work properly. Often hear people yelling in the halls. No microwave which was surprising and only two dresser drawers. Also no elevators. Odd stairs going up and down again. My room was literally upstairs both ways.

Room was nice, not exceptional. Solid hotel for the money. Close to Liverpool in a convenient location. I would stay there again.

Good location. Not too far from Destiny USA. Rooms were clean and staff was friendly. Breakfast was very good. Would recommend to a friend for an overnight stay.

Clarion Fairgrounds was just an overnight stay while passing through Syracuse. Front desk service was fast and courteous. The room was large and perfect for 4-6 people. The complementary breakfast delicious! Thanks to the hotel staff for making a good stay.

I booked a room with bathtub in it and paid the price for it. When I went to the hotel we decided to stay one more night so I booked the same room for the next night. When we went to check out and in again, we were told that this room is in high demand that second day and we need to move. There were 10 cars in the parking lot of the hotel, we were there in November so very few people were present but we were asked to move twice and given a worse room for some reason. The people on the front desk didn't seem to know what they are doing or care that their clients are comfortable. Our room were cheaper than the one we booked but no one offered to give us any money back. The room we booked with the bathtub was and then we moved to at the end of the corridor far away from everything. BEWARE — all the good reviews are years ago when the hotel had a different management than now.

We had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel. Beds were so comforable, hotel was clean and the staff was fantastic. We were hungry when arrived and didn't want to try restaurant as so many hotel restaurants are horrible but we had 3 kids with us and really didn't want to get back in car after a long drive so we went to the Italian rest. At hotel. Being Italian I wouldn't get anything with tomato sauce since I knew it would never be as good as mine but others in my party did. Let me tell you I was all wrong. Tried my sisters gnocci with tomato sauce and it was fantastic, tried the kids homemade pasta with meatballs and sausage and it was great. I got homemade pasta with fresh clams in a white light sauce and it was superb. My nephew got a sirloin steak which he loved. Many thanks to the chef for a wonderful meal and to Mary our waitress who wears many hats you are a asset to this hotel. Overall this hotel is worth the stay both money wise, comfort and food. You might notice things that could be updated but it is nothing to keep you from having a good night sleep or a good meal.

We needed a handicap accessible room (wheelchair) and the only rooms were on the far end of the hotel in the way back. No elevators. With breakfast included, you couldn't go through the hotel with the wheelchair bc there are only stairs. You would think the hotel used the rooms near the entrance that did not require stairs to be used for handicap customers. You are required to drive to the front Every time. We didn't stay there more than 7 hours before checking out. The room had toenail clippings, dingy and moldy smells which promoted a hive breakout. The room also wreaked of cigarette smoke. There was hair in the sheets and on the bathroom floor. It was a terrible experience considering wanting to rest after a 17 hour drive.

Older, clean, Motel. The fitness room was untidy, the Pool is unusable. Eat in the Hotel Italian Restaurant was offered. The Restaurant has earned the name "Italian". The food was quite OK.
