Best margaritas and drinks in town in such a fun and lively atmosphere! Very attentive staff in the Secreto bar! My compliments to the bartenders! They were rocking and rolling and did so well!

A definite starting spot, one dull night, listening to the ghost tour guide. A tasting sampler at the Gruet, or a famous Secreto cocktail, would be a good place to start.

We loved staying at Hotel Saint Francis! Beautiful hotel with unique character… the people there were so friendly and eager to help, too. We had a wonderful time! Definitely recommend.

Very Historic. And have stayed with the originality as much as possible.

We stayed in the master suite for our honeymoon and it was THE BEST two weeks of our lives. The suite has a hallway with Catholic art on the walls, which leads to the balcony that looks over down town, then around the corner there is a bathroom, then down a little ways more a living room with a fire place, a couch and a coffee station. Then to there is the master bedroom which has an extremely comfortable king size bed, a connecting fireplace, a bathroom with a big bathtub, marble sink, and glass doored shower… my husband and I thought we were in Italy! Not New Mexico! That Hotel was the best experience on our Honeymoon, and not to mention the best restaurant in town is connected to it. My husband and I are “foodies” and we went all over town trying to find good rated places, bit nothing compared to the restaurant in the Hotel. We ended up going twice! Thank you to the AMAZING staff, and the ever so AMAZING valet Ron! You guys made it an experience we will cherish forever.

First time to Sante Fe and right out of gate they give you a map at hotel lobby when lays everything out in what's walking distance. The hotel has amazing location your basically right in heart of were you want to be! Hotel staff were all amazing but a special shout out Andrew! Only small negative I would say is in hotel room their is a step to get into bathroom so if someone has trouble with steps might be issue however I'm sure they have other rooms without one. I must say when I say walking distance on here I mean 5 minutes to Capital and probably 5 minutes to plaza great location!

Very good! Lovely hotel. Great location. Clean. Rooms should have a small refrigerator and also TV was situated on a wall cabinet next to bed so watching was difficult in small room. Staff friendly. Morning coffee until 10. Plenty of water. Friendly staff.

Charming historic hotel in the center of Santa Fe. Parking available either behind the hotel or across the street in city parking lot (hotel will validate). Room was small, but comfortable. Particularly liked the sink in the room, instead of inside of the bathroom as many hotels do. There are restaurants and bars in the hotel. This place is easy walking distance to the plaza, galleries and some fantastic restaurants Santa Fe has to offer. Definitely recommend.

We have had great experiences every time we’ve stayed here. The discounts and ability to go to other neighbor property pools is great. We’ve also stayed here with our large dogs and the facility is perfect for them. The parking in town absolutely makes it worth it to be within walking distance of everything and the customer service is top notch.

The property is gorgeous. There was a great deal of attention t detail and we found every corner of the property to be very clean and orderly. When the line grew at check in, staff dropped what they were doing to help check guests in and did so with a genuine politeness. Beds, linens, showed accessories were all very fine and made for a very pleasant and relaxing stay. We look forward to our next stay.

Absolutely beautiful building and wonderful staff. The lady at the front desk gave excellent dining recommendations and highlighted several areas on the map she provided. Her input was very appreciated. The rooms were comfortable and we had a great night's rest.

Elegant, austere to the point of monastic. This historic hotel is beautifully maintained. As in most historic hotels the rooms are small but well appointed. Excellent location in the center of Santa Fe. My favorite hotel here. Try the sage smoked margarita, sit outside and watch the world walk by.

5 Stars! My boyfriend and I stayed here for our anniversary and the staff went above and beyond. We were welcomed with a chocolate cake, champagne and a sweet card! Since we’re both vegan, they went above and beyond to get us a vegan cake. Plus, the hotel is so romantic and walking distance to everything. Couldn’t be happier! Thank you!

Lovely hotel! Great service and homey vibe. Our housekeeper Anna Marie was delightful. Seeing her warm smile and receiving her thoughtful greeting first thing in the morning started the day off well. Janel at the front desk was likewise delightful. \Would strongly recommend.

It was a great location… and a unique theme and a comfortable place to stay. The breakfast restaurant was kind of strange. You had to ask reception if the restaurant was open… they usually did not know. (Go kitty corner from the hotel to Pasquale's for breakfast… excellent and save yourself the aggravation of chasing staff for breakfast at St. Francis) I told the receptions I would like to signed on for 2 days and then make a decision from there about the rest of the week, unless there was an issue with rate or occupancy, then I would reserve for the rest of the week. The reception assured me there would be no issue in doing this which is when the nightmare started. On day 3 it was exceptionally hard to stay without an increase of 35% for the 3rd day and I was asked to move rooms. On the 4th and 5th day there would be a 125% increase in room cost and a room move. I left town on day 3 since there was no flexibility for staying in the same room or negotiations in price. There was a reminder from housekeeping approximately 3 times before leaving the room on day 3 that it was time to go. I will not be back.

Fantastic place with great atmosphere. Rooms are small but cozy. Excellent and friendly staff. Would definitely stay again. Try the smoked sage margarita at the bar.

This hotel was so beautiful! We were also able to bring our furry friends with us which was great accommodations :) great smelling soaps, shampoos, etc and amazingly soft and comfortable sheets and bed. Wonderful customer service. The hotel is in a very nice area; so many dining options, art galleries and recreation nearby. I would highly recommend it!

The room was perfect. It was my birthday and the clerk upgraded our reservation. The bar off the lobby serves the best cocktails in Santa Fe. There is also a top-notch restaurant in the hotel, and a tasting room for one of NM's premier wineries. You can't go wrong with a stay at this hotel.

Nice looking place, small rooms, located on the square. Staff interactions were weird — from the authoritarian housekeeper to the apathetic concierge, it was just odd throughout our stay. We stay in Santa Fe often, and have had good (normal) experiences in the Hacienda and Eldorado, so we'll likely stick to those or try out other places. I'm sure we won't be back to this hotel. Our waiter, Rafael was the most competent person there. My wife and I joked that he probably wouldn't last long, being, you know, a normal and attentive employee. Haha, good for him though.

Amazing hotel to be lucky enough to stay at while in Santa Fe for a brief stay. Loved that everything was decorated & historically refurbished from the 1920's era. Staff was also extremely nice & helpful. Hope to have the opportunity to stay at St. Francis Hotel again in the near future.

There are so many good things to say about this hotel! The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, well maintained, and centrally located in downtown Santa Fe. I really enjoyed the monastic vibe of the room itself and the bed was very comfortable. The room was on the small side, but more than enough for two people. I felt so incredibly welcome from the moment I arrived at the front desk. Janel is extremely kind and knowledgeable. I know I'll return the next time I'm in Santa Fe!

My friend and I stopped in for drinks by the fireplace in the lobby. The person working the front desk would stop by every now and then to keep the fire going for us, and to check on us to make sure we were happy and comfortable in general. Great experience.

Excellent hotel. Service was polite and prompt (besides the bar staff but they we're really busy) Other reviews that are calling the rooms small are hitting the crack pipe. I stayed two nights in a queen room and had plenty of room to move around. I thoroughly enjoyed the location, it was walking distance from all of my meetings and plenty of sights.

Great margaritas at Secreto Bar.

My wife and I have always loved this hotel. Beautiful historic building… The lobby, patios, restaurant and bar are amazing. The staff have always been friendly and courteous, and it is in an excellent location. Most recently, we had our wedding and reception in the courtyard of and dining room of the Tabla de Los Santos restaurant on the property. I cannot say enough about the professionalism of David Stone, our wedding coordinator. From start to finish he went above and beyond to insure that our day was perfect. The St. Francis is a great place to stay, and if you are considering an event, I cannot imagine a better option or group of people.

It’s a great hotel. It’s quite & understated with amazing decor that would make Saint Francis proud! It’s right in town & has all the important amenities or easy access to whatever else you may want or need. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful building. Great staff. The room was a little small, but very cozy and clean. The bar was great. Delicious margaritas! Perfect location to walk anywhere in town.

Historic, but very uncomfortable. No chair in room, bed sags in middle. Limited parking in front shared with the hotel suppliers of products trucks and vans, sheets, towels, liquor, etc. Because they do not have a loading dock in back. Must park across the street and drag you bags back over. They charge a resort fee of $20 a day for two half bottles of water in the room, Wi-Fi and parking. There is no free parking and their lot is way to small for the facility. We would never go back.

This landmark hotel is in walking distance of historical Santa Fe and the NM Railrunner. The staff was professional, yet personable; they start a one-on-one relationship with you before checking in! My room was cozy and had all the comforts and amenities I needed. As a member of Heritage Hotels and Resorts,, you have access to their sister properties, within walking distance or free shuttle. We will be returning!

Stayed here in Feb. Not bad at all, the rooms are a little historic, but we had no issues whatsoever except the rooms were slightly small. The restaurant downstairs was easy to get to and had even later operating hours. Staff was friendly and can easily maintain a conversation, they didn't come off as "ok cool, now let me get back to my phone. " Price was reasonable considering you're walking distance from the main shopping plaza.

Beautiful scenery, also right on the historical Santa Fe Plaza. Awesome drinks within range of plenty of shopping areas as well as a lot of native art. The food is just amazing in Santa Fe. If you get a chance try a green chile chicken enchilada.

I love this hotel. It's historic and beautiful. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff is awesome! Manager Abraham was on top of everything and Janel, Avery and the front desk staff took great care of us while we visited. Beds were fabulous, linens top notch, towels are soft and service was always impeccable. Thank you for making our stay great! Will be back!

Keep thinking… location location location… ambience ambience ambience… keep the room expectations low (but the bed was perfect). And you will greatly enjoy your stay as we did. I could list the many small annoyances but would rather praise the staff, the common areas, the breakfast and the lounge. Very dog friendly! O and the location is amazing.

I absolutely loved the charm, decor and atmosphere of this hotel. Very friendly staff, walking distance to all things downtown. Best of all, is that you can drink a bottle of wine on their front steps with your loved one and watch all the passersby. Will be back!

We chose to host our destination wedding elopement and stay here. We had not only a fantastic experience with the hotel and staff, but loved the hotel's vibe and location. Staff was very professional and accommodating and it's location is perfect for being downtown and being able to walk to everything. Favorite feature is the front veranda where you can relax with a drink and it's especially lovely at night with all the candles. Here's the thing you need to know about Hotel St. Francis: it is a vintage boutique hotel and the rooms are reminiscent of rooms in Europe, which are smaller and have old fashioned windows that swing open and smaller bathrooms. But everything has been renovated and is fresh. The lobby and the rooms are all very zen and clean and modern and comfortable and yes, they are smaller than brand new modern or larger hotels. Since the hotel is modeling a monastery in design, its rooms are very simple but intimate and don't lack character. Very peaceful. This is a historic property and its charm is in the boutique style of it. If you want deluxe rooms with lots of space and wet bars en suite and giant bathrooms, then this is not the place for you. But the point is to be out enjoying Santa Fe, not spending days on end in your room. We loved exploring and coming home to our charming room and enjoying the community spaces (lobby, awesome bar, and veranda).

This place is sooo nice. I had a conference here and loved every minute. The staff is kind and helpful. Highly recommended.

Comfortable bed, nice bathrooms. Location of the hotel is very central. But that's it. No complimentary breakfast, the swimming pool is unappealing surrounded by high walls, and secluded. Also, the water temp in the pool was > 80 deg and felt like a hot tub. Considering the price, this accommodation is not worth it. Check out the Inn on the Alameda instaed.

Large, swanky rooms. Good staff, nice amenities (roof pools are great! ). The A/C wasn't working well, but probably because it's 100 degrees outside.

Absolutely horrible and shady business practices. We stayed with our young kids for a midway stopping point to Arizona. I checked our bank account and we were charged an additional 200.00 dollar incadentle fee up an above what the standard room charge is. No where was this "fee" communicated to us at checkin. I asked the front desk what this fee was about and they said incase we use bar services or their spa service. Consumer beware of their shady business practices and for all their additional bank hold's they will place during your stay with the chance you might drink their 200 dollar bottle of water. A room that should have cost 144 a night ended up being 344 with their "extra" bank hold they blamed on their reservation system. Additionally walking back from dinner there were homeless men outside the hotel snorting coccaine right in the open. Not something I wanted my three young children to witness. Additionally everything at this hotel is an extra. Even parking. Don't be fooled by their "lower" rates.

They have a beautiful modern chapel that is perfect for an intimate wedding. The front desk staff was nice and accomodating. The rooms were nice overall. One of ours did smell like smoke which was a bummer. Vallet service was a little confusing and is required unless you want to park off site. It's $10 to go to an event for parking and $24.95 per day even when you are staying there.

One of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. The rooms have an old fashioned feel but with the perfect modern touch. The staff was also great and very helpful when we needed anything. Definitely recommend it.

Had a girls trip there and loved the place. The rooms were nice and the bar and food were great. The location is great.

Although this stay was a gift from a friend. I feel compelled to write a review of the hotel in general. It is very Historic, and with that must say that the rooms were very small. Approximate 10 ft X 10 ft total. That did include a bathroom with only in shower in it, and that wash basin INSIDE the sleeping area. The hallways although nicely decorated, we very loud at night. I can understand that because the building was build in the 1910-1920's. However, the staff was very rude to us when we first checked in and forgot several things to mention at that time. The price that was paid for the stay did NOT include parking for the weekend near the hotel. We had to pay an extra $20.00 for that. With that we got a slip that we had to use in the windshield of our vehicle. Additionally, the staff did not inform us that each time we left in our car out of the parking lot, that we needed to stop at the front door and get a additional validation slip. (Which I may add, had to be date/time stamped each time, and was good only for 10 minutes). This was very important information that should be conveyed upon check-in. I would have to say that the price is over charged for the accommodations in general, and that you are paying for the history and convenience of being near the plaza in downtown Santa Fe. I will probably not stay there again.

My stay here was, by far, one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. The room was tiny and smelly. It smelled like the room previously housed dogs that urinated in it. There was barely enough room to walk around the bed, let alone close the door when you enter the bathroom. There weren't even basic accommodations. For example, there was no iron, mini fridge, room service of any kind, or even a fan in the tiny bathroom so after showering, you have to wait for the mirror to defog. Speaking of mirrors, there's only one mirror in the room, located in the bathroom, which is positioned so the only image is from the neck up. Also, I tend to be cold rather than hot throughout the day. Although there was technically an AC in the room, we had it on the lowest temperature and on high ALL DAY yet we were burning up from the heat so much so that we could only sleep with a sheet. For some reason, room service refused to give us fresh towels after cleaning the room. The first time it happened, we had thrown the dirty towels on the floor, which they grabbed, but failed to leave fresh ones. Then the next TWO times it happened, we actually hung up the towels to dry, but the cleaning service took them and again, left us without any towels. One of these times, we complained to the front desk and the woman assured us that she would have towels delivered to our room but that never happened.
