They cancelled our room the day we were to check in because we were locals. They claim that when locals rent there they have to call the police more frequently and that since they have enacted this policy that they have reduced calls from multiple times a week to once a month.

This was the nicest super 8 I have ever stayed in. It rivaled many “nice” hotels and it was less expensive than the last motel 6 I stayed in.

Nice size room king size suites. Great price. Staff is very friendly and very courteous.

Pleasant but really "stripped down" & small room. To be fair it is a physical limitation due to it's obvious age & basic dimensions. If they knocked out some walls, perhaps the claustrophobic "cell" sensation would be less evident. Double size bed; not even Queen. No extra pillows or blankets in room. If it cost $69 we would not even mind, but $150?! I don't think so. On the positive: OK waffle breakfast, pleasant staff, pool, adequate parking, housekeeping doing the best they can with what they have, but a clean old carpet is still an old carpet. One gets the sense the owners are desperately tyrying to squeeze every dime they can out of it until they have to tear it down & replace it. We just didn't know any better & there was something going on in town (Irish Festival?! ) that we ALSO didn't know about that might have encouraged the price gouging.

Always a pleasure staying at Super 8. Rooms are nice, staff is friendly, and there is a pool! :)

We stayed here one night. Grateful they had availability. Room smelled a bit like dog. No sheets for the pull out couch were in the room. Staff was friendly. Standard continental breakfast with cereal, waffles, yogurt and various pastries.

The room was clean and neat, kept cool with air conditioning. It was refreshing after a hot drive. The staff was su>er courteous. The pool was kept in great condition by the staff, especially since we had a large number of young people there. Breakfast was very good, with a decent selection of fruits, yogurt, breads, and their famous waffles.

You need to make your bathrooms more wheelchair accessible. If you want help, let me know.

The lobby looked average or above average for a lobby. Rooms look better than they would be.

Where to begin it was PATHETIC! They lied about having handicap accessibility, they changed the price after I had made a res. 2 weeks prior when we arrived after a 16 hour trip and told us we had to wait in the lobby cuz they were behind in cleaning the rooms and it was 4:30 in the afternoon they never changed the sheets we were given no clean towels for the 2nd day they left the same filthy sheets on the bed for the 2nd day they left trash in the room they left the dirty towels on the floor they pulled the dirty sheets up on the bed that was their idea of room service. When I told them who I made the reservation with surprisingly enough he had just quit prior to the day of our arrival (BS) I mean how stupid did they think I am there was no manager on duty for two days so no one could help me with the over charging so to anyone who even thinks of going to this hotel SAVE YOURSELF PITCH A DAMN TENT AT THE PARK UP THE STREET YOU WILL ENJOY IT BETTER BECAUSE THIS PLACE IS PATHETIC AND THEY BLATANTLY LIED ON THE PHONE AND TO MY FACE!

Very bad experience! We had to wait in an overcrowded lobby for an hour for our room. Then the pool area was around 98 degrees making it almost impossible to stay in. The next day, housekeeping g had left towels in piles in our room and a pizza box that was not ours had appeared. They didn't even change the bedding out. Then when it came time to check out they had double the room rate because it had gotten busy so they raised the rates. I have never heard of a hotel raising rates after you had a reservation for a different rate because they got busy. Avoid this place completely!

Worst Super 8 I've stayed in. Would not recommend to anyone. So noisy — especially if you get a first floor room. Everything is dated and in need of some major attention. At least the staff was friendly and accommodated our request to change to a second floor room, however that only put a small dent in the noise issue. There's many other hotel options in the area at this price point so I'd think twice before booking this one.

The rooms were clean. Beds were a little hard for my liking. Breakfast was great n the morning. The pool and hot tub area were clean. The parking lot was well lit. Overall the my stay was good.

Standard room, nothing exciting. The carpet had holes in my room. Staff was friendly and it has easy access from the street. No elevator so if you have a room on the 2nd floor be prepared to carry all your luggage up steep steps. Pool is indoors but not heated and the Jacuzzi tub was warm but the jets didn't work. Plenty of parking and a great plus side was the coffee was available all day and all night.

The Manitowoc Ships Basketball team took over this hotel and destroyed it. The lack of respect: running up and down the hall screaming and yelling way past 11pm and the staff did nothing. These brats put HAND LOTION TWICE in the hot tub and it had to be fixed twice. I’m there for work and have to get up early the next morning — front desk did nothing after I complained. I found a comforter on our King bed with blood stains! Someone never changed the comforter! I will never stay there again — we do trade shows twice a year in this area and used this place every time — NEVER AGAIN. The parents of the Manitowoc Ships checked in and then CHECKED OUT OF PARENTING! I have pictures of the brats and the sheets — Facebook has a lot of comments for both the hotel and the BRATS.

There was a hair in my shower, a goopy brown substance on the side of my mattress, and very rude service when we were asked to leave the pool for a “mechanical alarm” issue. On top of that? There was a hair in my danish in the morning. Would. Not. Recommend.

Clean room and bathroom. Was a quick late night crash.

Decent place to stay. Great price! No elevator though. Pack light as you may end up on 2nd floor. Hot tub is not kept up properly for the second week. Rooms are clean and staff are helpful and welcoming.

Very clean, staff is friendly. Breakfast has good pastries, there is cold cereal, waffles, toast or bagels. Pool and hot tub area very clean. Hot tub perfect temp for me. Guest laundry is only 1 washer and 1 dryer, but very reasonably priced. The TV, has no guide so you can see what is on, but does have a wide variety of channels.

The beds were comfortable. The pool was cold.

The front desk person called me a wetback and a spick. He says he is thr manager, and his name is Felix. I would never stay at a place where they allow racists to disrespect paying customers.

Was fine. Wi Fi was a bit patchy.

I made reservations 1 month prior to our event. Needed to extend our stay and come a day. Couldnt do that because I'd completed my reservation on line. Just to get here and find out I had NO reservation at all. No help from the staff either. Poor customer service, and I left to figure out my own reservations.

Rooms smelled liked musty basement. It didn't feel very welcoming. The office staff is not very friendly.

The place is more than neat. It's well maintained. It's clean, smells good, the beds are big, and the staff were attentive. The hotel fits quite well with how the pleasant the town itself is.

I found it to be clean and comfortable, and the staff was very courteous. I wouldn't hesitate to stay with them again!

Every thing was great until my friend woke up next morning with bites all over the back of her legs. Was told they would look into it but wouldn't compensate on the bill. The bites were big and red bumps. We were told since we paid on line they couldn't give discount for the discomfort. Won't be staying at motel eight any time soon.

Clean room, kids loved pool area, the AC unit got super cold and their Wi-Fi was fast. Enjoyed our time here.

I had a very middling experience. The walls were thin: I could hear the TV in the rooms on either side of us. The beds were a strange mx of too firm around the edges, and nice in the middle. The pool was nice, but the hot tub was in need of some work. I'm not sure what was wrong with it, but when you hit the timer, the jets made a noise that my son said sounded like "summoning aliens. " It was not a normal whirlpool sound in the least.

Nice clean friendly staff and helpful. Would have liked to have a bed side table top plug in for cell phone and medical equipment. If thay had that it would have been a 5 star in my book. Great stay.

I'm rating this based on the type of hotel (2 star) which is not comparable to a 4+ star like a suite or bed/breakfast. For what it is, this is a nice super 8 hotel with comfy beds, new decor, and clean rooms. Better than several others I have stayed in. The parking and area seemed a little questionable (large warehouse style business/strip mall across the street). But the hotel is well-kept. Staff was pleasant. Cannot comment on continental breakfast options as we didn't partake or consider inquiring.

Very nice amenities for the price. Has a full pool, hot tub, and even a small workout room with full size treadmills. Free breakfast was great as well.

Clean room, friendly service, good price, overall a good stay. Didn't use the pool this time but it was great the last time.

Location right on the busy hwy, room is super nice and big, great services also a big indoor pool and whirlpool great for the kids.

Pool & hot tub were nice. Lack of pool towels though made it hard to dry off 2 kids. Bathroom was tiny & had a hole in the door. The ceiling looked as if full of nicotine stains! Chair in the "sitting area" was falling apart. The beds looked comfy, but they are far from it! 1/2 of the toaster at breakfast didn't work. Juice machine didn't work… I won't be returning.

The location itself is fairly inconvenient being located directly off of a main stretch of road leading to downtown La Crosse. With my fiance and daughter in the vehicle, as we pulled into the parking lot our vehicle was approached by a group of loud vulgar drunks who repeatedly pounded the hood of the car. With my fiance stating she will call the cops the group dispersed. Before we could even begin to pull forward very clearly we had witnessed a drug deal in the parking lot, one of whom was armed with a gun. At this point fearing for my family and my safety we left and will not return to that property.

My family and I stayed at this hotel because my brother was back from the military for a short period of time. When we checked in I noticed the room was not very clean. There was crumbs all over the floor from the previous guest, writing on the paper products, and dust on the furniture. When we sat on the beds, it felt like we sank down to the box spring. Later in the evening my daughter had an accident on the bed. I took off all the bedding and went to the front desk to get clean bedding so I could remake the bed. I informed the man at the front desk about the bedding and also the people upstairs that were being extremely loud. The man dismissed the complaint I had made about the noise. He then had me follow him around to get new bedding (which he only had sheets. When I asked for a mattress pad and a blanket he said he didn't have any. He then walked over to a small closet and grabbed out a really old blanket. It was very hard and had clumps of hair and a piece of old tape on it. It smelled like dust really bad as well. This hotel would be a nice place to stay if they improved the cleanliness of the rooms, and the way the guests are treated by staff. The breakfast was good and the pool looked nice.

We visit La Crosse a few times each year and have been bouncing around to different motels after our favorite one was torn down. After 2 visits, this Super 8 will be our new go to place in La Crosse! The rooms have been clean and comfortable, the staff friendly, the common areas, including the pool and spa, well-maintained, and the internet connection fast and reliable. Haven't tried the breakfast. One quibble, and we experienced this at the Super 8 in Kansas City as well, the front desk would not honor the price advertised on line. We could have sat in the lobby, booked on line, and saved about $10…

Clean, quiet and a good value for a low cost.

This place is the absolute worst! Stay away! Me and my husband stayed here for one night because we were out drinking in lacrosse, all the other hotels were booked due to a major event going on. The room looked ok at first, but I could not figure out why when I woke up, I had what I had thought at the time, to be bread crumbs on me. Get home and come to find out the room was ingested with bed bugs! Disgusting! Had I known that was what they were at the time, I would have mentioned it to management and made them wash all out stuff before leaving… but niw, thanks to them and they're very unclean rooms, I'm not only stuck with having to replace our bed that cost $1000. But also hiring an exterminator to get them out of my house which is another $2600! I will never stay here again! You're better off sleeping on the sidewalk, unless you want to be rooting upwards of $3000 to get the bed bugs that their rooms are ingested with out of your house too!

Very nice 2 star hotel! Clean, comfortable, secure. Staff is polite and helpful. Great location. I thought the bed was especially comfortable, which is rare for me to think. Some tiny details are skipped; no ice buckets available in the room, luggage cart was very hard to steer… But makes up in other areas; USB port on the nightstand, nice mini fridge and microwave.

Room was expensive, but filthy. The sheets had what appeared to be boogers on them. We found a pacifier and a room key from the previous tenants under the bed (meaning the room wasn't thoroughly cleaned). My cell LTE was faster and more reliable than their "high speed Wi-Fi. " Raised concerns with the management (which appeared to be made up of teenagers), they claimed that because we booked and paid for the rooms ahead of time online, no adjustments could be made. By all means, stay away.

I did not rent a room here, I was invited to a party in a community room close to the entrance. This room was clean and nicely set up, if a bit small for our large group. It would be great for a smaller group. The bathroom was next to the pool and a bit messy, with paper towels on the floor. There was only one stall, and no toilet paper, but the person at the front desk immediately went to restock it when I mentioned they were out. The front desk people were both very friendly.

Found a roach in the bathroom an than later bugs in the bed. On top of trash still left in the room from the previous person that stayed. They also had construction going on which I wasn't informed, hard for a newborn to sleep when people are banging away. Go somewhere else wouldn't recommend this place at all.

Disgusting, we found a roach on the wall in room 103 only gave it 1 star because it is the only way I could post my review or it would have gotten none!

I am a Over the Road Truck Driver, my wife and I called the Reservation line and made a Reservation for two nights. I explained when I made my reservation I would be paying cash, and gave them my debit card number to reserve the room. Once I arrived, they would not let me check into the room due to my not having either a credit card, or debit card with enough funds to cover room costs, even though I was paying cash for my trip and stay, They would not allow us to check in with out the a card. Needless to say, arriving at the Hotel and being told we was not welcome because we did not have a credit card, had upset me to say the least. I will never attempt to stay their again, I do not recommend anyone else to stay there either. The attitude of the staff once I told them I had no card turned Icey, and unprofessional. The young woman was snobby and the so called manager not only refused me service, but also managed to make me feel insulted as I departed. As a loyal Super 8 customer, I was extremely dissatisfied with Customer Service when I called them. They said these policies where up to the individual sites to determine this.

Although rooms were clean and beds reasonably comfortable, the biggest issue I had with this hotel was that you heard, quite easily, every outside noise. Not just inside the hotel, but every car, truck, fire truck, door slam that happened outside the hotel walls. We kept thinking a window was open, making sleep elusive.
