Great day here — I had a long drive and am relocating here, so it was important that I could find a hotel that could help me feel comfortable and recharge before my job interviews. I never write reviews, but Jessica (reservations) and Jason (front desk manager) both made my day! Excellent job — thank you! Very happy with price, location and amenities — room was clean with a nice large flat screen. The pool was 82 degrees and I got a great swim in even though it was only 64 degrees today. Pool has an 8 foot deep end which I need to do my leg exercises (scissor kicks). They also have a pool for toddlers and a hot tub. (I didn't use them but there is a game room, fitness center, business station and restaurant/bar adjacent to pool). I also did a load of laundry and walked next door for pizza at the Mellow Mushroom. Plenty of shopping in the area and I couldn't be happier as I am fully recharged for my interviews tomorrow. In fact — I decided to extend my stay here…

Better staff. Cleaner rooms you must move things and clean behind them not just surface clean.

WOW I wish I could give it a 0/5. We have stayed here 3 times in the past and never had issues until this time. We saw multiple small cockroaches every single day here, GROSS. There was no hot breakfast which I understand is due to Covid but we were not notified of this change since our booking. This amounted to us spending an extra $10-20 per day we did not plan on. And the microwave was absolutely trashed beyond comfortable use so we weren't even able to reheat leftovers. On top of this the place had NO HOUSEKEEPING. We didn't find this out until the 2nd day we came back with no toilet paper. What a fantastic experience. A call or letter would have been nice. Not really sure what we are paying for. Then they told us we could get TP from the lobby and THEY GAVE US KLEENEX. Wow. On top of all of this my PRESCRIPTION glasses were stolen from the pool area. Not sure how those will do someone else good but they are gone. There's more money down the drain and I can no longer see the rest of our vacation. On top of all this, the place was crawling with prostitutes and or junkies tweeking out around the place. We even saw ones naked top half because they kept pulling their shirt up jerking around. Not sure if the no TP or cockroaches were worse. But I can't believe how bad this place had gotten and we WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE. We absolutely expect compensation for our stay and have been offered nothing but some kleenex to wipe our ass.

We are in a rented room with a group. It is 80 degrees. We asked 3 hours ago and nothing has been done. I asked for a manger no manger on duty. The owners wife was here but didn’t answer her phone. The desk clerk came up and said to make sure they were on. They were on.
What a shame. People are leaving early. New people were invited for the first time. They will never ever. Return to this ev.

No rooms ready, have to wait 1&1/2 hours for a room at the very back of this marginal hotel. Never again.

The hotel is being renovated but not one section at a time so there are workers everywhere as well as dumpsters, wet paint, etc. There was a dead rat in the pool area. I watched three people who work here, not renovation contractors, walk by and not dispose of it. There was glass on the pool deck that my son picked up and threw away and the outside tables were filthy. The bar is owned by someone else and the staff was rude and said cleaning the tables was the hotel people. The hotel people said it was the responsibility of the bar people. I guess that fully explains why they were dirty. Then I ask the front desk person for something to clean the tables with because she said at this hour, 7:30pm, there is no one at the hotel who can clean them, so she gives me a dry pool towel. There were all kinds of creepy people just literally walking around. I don’t recommend this hotel.

Newly renovated. Quick check-in. Clean and comfy beds! Pillows were very comfortable. Clean rooms/bathrooms. There's an arcade (a couple games weren't working), jacuzzi, pool and kiddie pool. Vending machines didn't work very well; candy kept getting stuck so we put more money in; told the front desk and their response was, "oh well, we aren't responsible for the vending machines. " Also, a restaurant/bar open at night. Delicious food and extremely great service provided by Bill. Free breakfast, free Wi-Fi and free parking.

Terrible place full of mold! managment does not care and will try to charge you more for checking out early because of the mold! send you enemies to stay and die from moldy lungs at this hotel!

Great hotel! Stayed there 2 separate times this past year and both stays were great. Clean, staff is very friendly and the free breakfast is great too! Looking forward to going back when I visit Clearwater again this year.

Rooms are not cleaned very well. Staff not helpful. Every morning you watch staff filling up their plates at the breakfast buffet in front of you and then there is barely anything left for you.

Great location, in terms of airport and coast, but otherwise a well placed hotel on the main highway through Pinellas county. I was there for a social event, but a relative stayed over, deal on a room with banquet hall type usage or something, easy to get to. No crazy traffic, although nighttime, I've lived close for a while and it's never too hard to get there. Our banquet room was fine, perfect for the need, no issues at all. Will use again.

Check-in is not until 4:00pm but we were able to check in at 1:00pm. The ladies at the desk were so nice. Our room was upgraded to a suite at no additional charge giving God all praise and glory. There prices are very reasonable. They have a restaurant, free breakfast, game room and pool. The price is very feasible, if you are looking for a inexpensive hotel with be at customer service and too amenities try Clarion Inn and Suites.

I just checked in and I am very disappointed. Very old hotel. Like old and need to renovate badly. This place needs new management and needs renovation from top to bottom. Inside and out. The smell is moldy inside our room. The water in the room smells old and not sure if it is contaminated due to bad smell and taste. I got stuck with the room, because I couldn’t cancel per booking agreement. I don’t recommend this place.

Visiting a friend staying here. They are very pleased with the quality, value and overall experience of this hotel. Pool is very nice, room was clean, fresh and odorless, up to date, AC cold as ice when needed. I'd recommend highly for this area!

Very poor upkeep. Hotel room was smelly and there was a piece of styrophome under my sheets. The beds were stained and water stains in bathroom.

I'm only giving a second star due to the very friendly staff. Where do I begin? It appears that there are permanent residents in this place. Standing around outside, yelling obscenities across the property at each other. When I checked in, I had told the front desk clerk if at all possible, we would prefer a first floor room (this was our last hotel, out of 4, on a nearly 2 week vacation and we were tired of climbing stairs). The room was constantly in a state of wet-feeling. Papers and boxes were flimsy within minutes of being in the room. I wore my shoes the entire time I was there. I get that it's Florida, but a properly working a/c unit would take care of the humidity. The room smelled musty and moldy. We had to buy Febreze and sprayed it constantly. If the a/c was set any higher than 64/65, it felt like wasn't keeping the room cool. We were there when the weather wasn't that bad so it wasn't like it was hot out. It was more wet and sticky in the room than outside. I spent a week in this wet, musty room. I will never stay here again and will gladly pay more to stay elsewhere.

My boyfriend and I went to Clearwater for for a mini vacation and this hotel was great! We stayed for the night and had excellent service. Upon check in, we were upgraded to a suite free of charge and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The room itself was comfortable and spacious; it included a mini fridge+microwave, king bed, bath/shower, futon, and two TVs. Outside the room, the hotel included a bar, pool, and hot tub. Breakfast was also included in our rate. It wasn't anything fancy but it wasn't bad either. There is a lot to do in the area so even though we got rained out we still had fun. Overall, great place for the money we spent!

First I will say the staff was nice. However, in our first room, there were three roaches. We asked to move and they gave us a different room, it looked okay at first but it had a very awful smell. When we woke, we found more roaches… staff was nice and gave us a refund, just had to pay for the one night.

This is great place, after reading reviews and goin for myself I see that people are just being over the top wanting more than they are willing to pay for. Trust me this is a great place and the staff is awesome. Crystal goes above and beyond, Karen is awesome — the entire staff is great! Rooms are great and well priced. Ac very cold, what more could you ask for — oh yeah the beds are comfy!

Wonderful place. Crystal is awesome so is Dave. Great bar on site and I love the hot tub. Jason is great too. I love this place… I come every Feb after valentines and I always enjoy my stay.

1st time to this area. I was pleased with the price for the room and the quality was better than the comments. Proves that you cannot believe everything that you read online. The young lady Crystal got us in early although the room was not ready, we came back and Jason told us we could go right in. Customer service here is great. I will come back if I come back to this area. Breakfast was great. Tina is also very nice. Over all a great place to stay and very affordable.

I am a repeat guest and will continue to stay with them when I am in this area. Great Staff Tina is awesome, and Karen is a charm. The new add Crystal is wonderful, great job everyone. We had an amazing time. The food was great, the cocktails where priced affordably and the bartender Linda was a riot. Will definitely come back! Clean rooms, comfortable beds and a killer free breakfast. Best stay that we've had in our two weeks of travel.

The front desk check-in person was very nice and cordial. The lobby looked nice enough and there were meeting rooms upstairs and game rooms and a restaurant. There were a bunch of people having a loud party with Bollywood music blasting in the lobby and meeting rooms, that made it obnoxious, when I asked for extra towels, which I could not get to the next morning. Also, there were some ghetto trash young people smoking pot in the suite across the hall from my room, and being ridiculously noisy and loud in the hallways, so much so that I had to talk to the front desk about them. This is a non-smoking hotel and I did not want to hear the party noise or smell smoke of any kind here. This Choice Hotels Clarion Inn property is older and I was surprised how outdated it is. The furniture in the rooms needs to be replaced and the shower pressure is lousy, the beds were comfortable though. The room door had trouble closing and I kept tripping over the door jam due to it being too high up off the floor, it is a hazard and poor quality and a lazy fix. It really was a pain. Thr A/C also would not cool the room well enough. Breakfast was okay, but nothing spectacular and could have been better. At least the hot tub was working in this hotel. Overall, I would not stay here again, due the age and lack of concern for the comfort of the guests.

The cleanliness of sheets and towels very good but the dining tables never cleaned them after they used them among a few people the following, the tables have ants the same as in the rooms, the food is always cold, the phones do not work The rooms, the Wi-Fi never worked.

Stayed 2 days at Clarion Inn in Clearwater. Very satisfied. Quite and nice room. Delicious full hot and cold breakfast. Friendly staff members. Clean room, new TV and comfortable mattresses and pillows. Will recommend to friends.

Worst experience ever. Not hot water. Reception suggested to wait 15 minutes every time for to get warm water. I check out last Sunday. Reception gave me a receipt with everything fine. Now I have a 400 dollar charge for a mattress. A destroyed mattress they claimed when I left hotel my checkout went fine. This people is so ridiculous. I would not recommend this hotel to no one. Horrible business and a nasty move on how to get extra money. They never reach me to let me know of the "issue". I called hotel and managers and technician are off for the day every day. What a joke. I recommend everyone have your room inspected by a manager when leaving the hotel. So they cannot claim nonse.

This hotel/inn has a nice view, hot tub and pool and very nice arcade room of nostalgia equipment. I didn't eat breakfast, but get what u pay for. I saw reviews from 2014-2016 and the hotel has improved. Please don't take those reviews to heart. Hotel is also dog friendly.

If you want to stay clean and be able to take a shower, don’t go to this location and so they improve their water pressure! If you want to be able to have Internet access while you’re at this location, very high-speed access sucks! However, on the good side they have an amazing staff.

We made reservation 5 months in advance of event. Arrived early and waited for room to be available. The rooms we were given was not what we requested 1st floor pool side and adjoining. The woman at front desk told us (as she clicked her fingers on the counter) that she did not have any special request on file and they do not have adjoining rooms. Others in our group, that made reservations last week, got rooms Adjoining and pool side. Will not recommend this hotel.

Breakfast was good — bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffels, eggs. The pool area was very nice and clean. Hot tub, Big pool, and kiddie pool. The rooms were clean, and the beds were comfy. A little dated, But clean and perfect for a family vacation.

Visiting a friend. Room was clean and nicely decorated. Felt quite comfortable.

Upon arrival in our room it smelled like mildew and we had no hot water. There was hair in our bed as well. We called while we were out and they sent maintenance to fix the hot water problem. We had hot water for the time, however the next morning we had no hot water again. The room was very dirty looking and floors felt damp, I would definitely not recommend staying here. We went to the La Quinta in down the block and it is 100 times better.

This hotel was NOT accommodating at all. My daughter and I drove 14 hours to drop her off at her college and when we tried to call them to tell them we will be running late the phone rang for 2 minutes with no answer. We called 8 times before my reservation to make sure to tell them we are coming. When we get there later in the night hmmmm around 12 they told us they gave our room away. The lady at the front desk was NOT helpful at all she shooed me away like a street right. Do not come to this hotle.

Three star hotel with great hot breakfast. Location is also close to a lot of commercial places so you're never too far from a grocery or gas station and food. Definitely recommend.

It was good for the price and location. Our bathroom was fairly large but fixtures seemed a bit worn. Beds were comfortable. The room had a slight perfume smell. The pool area was pleasant and enjoyable. Adults can enjoy a cocktail while watching the kiddies in the pool.

My family and I booked a room here while in town for my brothers wedding. On the last day of our stay we noticed a roach in the room. I contacted the front desk. There was no apology issued or suggestion of possible putting us in another room. The front desk personnel send the maintenance guy who got the roach out then proceed to spray the room with Raid while we were still in there. Then the maintenance guy did not do a thorough inspection of the room and advised to call front desk again if we see another. I asked the maintenance guy for the manager. He informed the young lady I spoke to on the phone at the front desk was the on call manager for weekend. I asked if he could ask if she could stop by the room as I was upset with the hotel response. The lady never showed. After 15 minutes I want to the front desk to inform how upset was about the situation and the lack of appropriate response from the hotel. The front desk lady just looked at me and asked what I wanted her to do. At this point I was behind annoyed. I explained to her how I expected a better response. I asked for the number for corporate. After being on hold for about 20 minutes to speak to someone. The lady who picked on the corporate line informed that I couldn't formally file a complaint until we checked out the hotel. Even though I explained that the family had to leave the hotel to attend to wedding things but plan to check out that night. This is was the worst experience ever.

First time staying at a Clarion in about 17 years. Key was ready and waiting for us upon arrival. We were upgraded to a suite which was fantastic and in the newer part of the hotel. My husband is an early riser so having the separate family room allowed him the opportunity to watch TV or check email without disturbing me. The mattress was very firm, the water was extremely hot our entire stay, the internet dropped off a lot but it did work, the A/C could be loud at times but it was perfect for me because they are located close to the expressway and I am a very light sleeper. Our room featured a great view of the pool. The pool was closed every night promptly at 10 p. M. We ate in the restaurant first night, food and service was good. The only negative thing I can say is that my husband was not allowed to bring me breakfast. They have a sign that says dine in only. I'm on vacation, I don't want to get up to eat by 9:30 am but the rules are the rules. Would recommend and stay again.

Our room's only AC unit was located basically on the ceiling. Because of this, the room was not ventilated. The room was humid and damp, and the carpet was literally wet. I wore shoes in the room because I was disgusted with the floor and my shoes were wet from the humidity. The bathroom's tile in the shower was moldy and has a very poor, patchy caulk job. The bed on one side seemed like it has no springs or something (when you sat or lay on it, it provided no support). I made my husband sleep on that side. Nothing was dry and sleeping in that warm, humid room was miserable. With my asthma and my husband's allergies, I'm just thankful we aren't sick… yet. Breakfast was good, and we had a discounted military rate so those 2 things helped.

It is a great place close to Clearwater Beach and the staff are friendly and helpful. Great place if you have dogs, we have two small dogs they were happy. The Clarion offers a lot full of tress that you are able to walk you dogs safely. We will really recommend the Clarion to friends and we will be back :) with our dogs. The breakfast is a plus and ok pool.

We were in a large room up the stairs to the left. It was for publix management testing. The place was very out dated, the carpet was old n smelled musty and had stains. The ceiling was the same with yellowish stains. Very small lobby. They were doing consteuction in the lobby and it was a mess. No one talked w us or smiled at us. It was also very cold.

Will not stay here again. The rooms smell of mold and mildew. Very musty. The sleep number beds don't work. Our carpet was damp. Our toilet overflowed overnight for no apparent reason and soaked half the room. Soaked suitcases, clothes and other belongings not to mention the covers on the bed that probably won't be washed. The staff was not too concerned. They did not act fast at all to remedy the situation. I am fairly positive this has happened before as the room ALREADY smelt when we first checked in. I would not recommend staying here. My other family members had bad rooms as well as we here for a family reunion.

Booking was wrong-had 3 rooms-one was as far away as possible-not even on the same floor. Was a smoking room & smelled bad-had to spray it down. Pool was shut down till last day. Handi-man couldn't figure out the a. C. Leaked the whole time. Facet leaked. Seat on stool was loose. When you talked to them they were booked full & they couldn't do anything. They talk a good game but they don't back it up. We will never be back. Sorry excuse for a hotel. We put up with their b. S. For 6 days.

The air quality in the room was ok at first, then when you start the A/C, there would be a horrible sewage smell that didn't dissipate. We had to keep the room fan running in order to circulate the air to reduce the headaches. Carpets were disgusting and filthy. A little dated. Found a roach in our room and we are not dirty people. Breakfast was good. Would not recommend unless your on a budget. I also tried to explain the issue to the front desk and she really didn't care to hear, she kept interrupting me and trying to get us to hurry up and check out. She was rude and her apathy for the problems stated told me my concerns meant nothing.

Very disappointed in this hotel front desk service. I went there because I was in need of a place to stay for the night and because I am only 20 not 21 they tried to charge me $300 deposit for a regular room and the total came out to be over $500. First of all I don't see anyone paying more than $80 a night at this Inn its not that nice of a place so why is it that I would get charged over $500 for being by myself just because I am under 21… I know they have the insurance reasons but seriously? $500 +total? and second of all he could have told me this before he took my Credit card information. It was a complete waste of time for me when I had to be up for work at 7 am. And then I had to frantically find a hotel that would accept me at 11:00 at night.

Had a suite at the end of the hall where the fire exit had no door alarm and was used as the smoking exit so people constantly letting the door slam then when idiots figured out they could not get back in would pound on the glass. It was not a good experience so only one star. Also the bar was very noisy til late hours. And the breakfast was like a feeding of swine. People in sleep clothes and reaching and grabbing food like a hurricane was coming. Towels all smelled like mildew. This place was not much better than a Motel 6.

We were upgraded when we arrived at this hotel and were happily surprised to get a suite! This was a nice spacious room. We enjoyed our stay here. The faucet leaked though and when we asked for more towels because we used our room towels for the pool, the staff person said she had towels at the front desk and could not have anyone bring us towels? I then asked again and she said she would have someone bring us some. Hot breakfast was good.

You get what you get for $54 a night; the sort of clientele this attracts is either mid-20's, budget business travelers or families on a budget. It seems some of them don't care and trash the rooms a little, leaving unidentifiable things on blankets you would hope would be laundered, stains on the carpet or cigarette holes on the comforter. The hotel has to then deal with this given they're charging 54/night. I spoke to the front desk about the issue; they appreciated the feedback and asked that other clients do the same — it seems that there's an issue with Housekeeping but someone in the organization is having a hard time accepting what could help fix this So if you are passing through and are on a budget it's probably ok for you. They really try but thanks to customers it's hard to win.

I love staying here with my family every time we visit Clearwater Florida. The rooms are big clean and comfortable. Pool and jacuzzi area two thumbs up. And breakfast is delicious. Also the staff is always friendly and pleasant.

I didn't like anything about the hotel. I booked online when we got there the room was covered with mold we took pictures went to the manager, she "upgraded" us to a bigger room. It wasn't until a day or two later that we realized there was mold in that room too. You could tell where they literally painted over the mold and the mold was seeping through the new paint. There was exposed wires where my 16 month old could reach, there was a storm drain jerry rigged in the closet so every time it rained which was all week all you could hear was the rain water (loud). We called ahead to make sure there was no construction and the guy that answered the phone said that there was none that they only had painting going on (which I'm assuming was them repainting over mold again) which was a lie because the hot tub was out of order and closed off, there was construction all around the hotel on the roadways, so it was hard to get in and out of the hotel and go anywhere. The "free breakfast" that they advertise isn't free if you want to eat it in your room (and I might add that is a barely edible, it really is disgusting) the coin laundry was out of order. We didn't find that out until about 10-11 o'clock at night when we tried to use it and was told "its broke" and that we would have to go up the road to do any. Which just happened to be in the middle of a ghetto with all types of illegal stuff going on, which was horrible because I had my baby with me.
