I received horrible customer service from Caleb and zero customer satisfaction. Had a room reserved, had an issue that left me stranded on Monarch pass, which left me out of cell range to call and cancel. Even though I NEVER made it to the motel, I was charged a full night's stay. When I called to rectify the charge, I was met with zero compassion or understanding that I couldn't have called to cancel my reservation, as I was stuck in the side of a Mountain! I was told there was nothing they would be willing to do. Absolutely ridiculous and bad business practice. I hope the one night's stay was with pushing away a customer.
I will NEVER stay at or recommend Briarwood Inns to anyone.

Disgusting place I do not recommend this motel to anyone! Omg the reviews are not even remotely correct! Checked into my room & they left there drill in my room! Fridge is moldy nasty cat smell beds are horrible carpet is bloody and stained to hell bathrooms unleveled chairs are falling apart & are trash it’s gross I do NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.

Checked in after hours but was quickly greeted and checked in by the nicest guy. Room smelled a little musty but overall was very comfortable. Breakfast was simple but will definitely carry you over for lunch. While you eat, the inn plays a very interesting and educational clip of the Black Canyon National Park. I really enjoyed this Inn and would definitely reserve again.

Pleasantly surprised. For the price this was great. The rooms were small, and the table was a little wobbly, but had a large frig, whirlpool bathtub, and the AC can turn the room into a meat locker. The staff were friendly and helpful. Most of all it was clean. I particularly liked the ambiance of the room. It's a older motel on the main drag close to restaurants. Would definitely stay again. The downside was the staff wouldn't let me take the two easy chairs and couch with me when I left.

The manager was real nice, very friendly. The room was clean and well maintained. The only thing that could be better was the floors, they creak. Had a great night sleep.

For the most, this is a great place to stay, especially for the price. There is a handful of room amenities that are provided and are really nice to have after time camping in the forest. I called Frank after 6 weeks camping with no reservation and he got me into a room very quickly. Thank you!

Very cozy and clean. Friendly staff as well as management and great rates. As we have travelled and stayed in different cozy motels and this one really surprised me. Seriously so clean and peaceful. Will stay here again and recommend to friends and family!

Comfy beds. Easy quick sign in. Overall, a wonderful place to stay if you're enjoying your time in Montrose!

Awesome as always. Good clean rooms, good people, good service. Breakfast always good. Any1 traveling thru an need a place to stay where people take care of u this is the place.

They are pet-friendly and don't charge you an insane pet fee like many places do, and their rates are great. They had shampoo, tooth paste, lotion, and soap available in the room, which was a nice touch. Our room was clean, and the service was friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful and knowledgeable staff. Rooms were small and outdated but comfortable and quiet. The continental breakfast selection was better than other hotels we stayed at. Good coffee! We would have stayed longer at this hotel but my poor back couldn't take the beds, which is the only reason for the 4 star. As a side note, the little packets of lotion offered are amazing, I'm currently looking for a larger size for home use!

Staff was nice and helpful. Room was small, AC was overtaxed and did not cool of the room very well. Shower was not as clean as I would have liked and the drains firm the shower/tub and sunk drained very slowly. The TV had all sorts of cables exposed… it was ok. I got what I paid for.

Super clean, the front desk lady was nice, nice TV, microwave, mini fridge and coffee pot, actually works fantastic. All in all super nice place nice stay and breakfast in the morning :)

1 bedroom room was definitely small and a little dated, but was also clean and had a nice shower. Smelled lightly of cigarette smoke, but wasn't unbearable. The manager is very personable and friendly.

You can walk the few blocks into downtown and cruise the quaint shops, have a meal and stroll back to relax. I always stay here when I'm in town. Thanks to everyone at Briarwood for a pleasant stay!

Even if it's an old hotel and some improvements are needed, I would give it 4 stars as the owner is honest, very polite and makes you feel at home. Rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast is included and offers bagels, waffles, cereals, fruits, juice, milk and coffee. Location is good: only 20 minutes driving from the South Rim of the Black Canyon.

Clean and inexpensive little place. Took our daughter and really liked it. Quaint and modestly decorated but decently. They didn't just half-ass it. Even had Wi-Fi and blow dryer (on request). It was a good deal. Safe and clean.

Stayed here with my brother on a elk scouting trip. What a great place. Frank is awesome and makes you feel right at home. When we got up to eat some breakfast in the morning it was a fun social experience. The rooms are a little older, but they are clean and comfy. The place is packed, so you know its a good place to stay. I would recommend this place if you are looking for something just to relax and rest your head. Its not a luxury place, but we just needed a place to sleep. Also both my brother and I are Hispanic and we had a great experience. Thanks Frank!

Stayed here for 2 nights and loved it. Owner was super friendly and accommodating. He even makes waffles for breakfast! We were thrilled to find that our room basically had 2 rooms since the bathroom was between the beds. Best rates in town too!

Stayed at this garbage establisment a couple of nights, staff was rude and racist against colored people, times havnt changed here I guess, wouldn't reccomend this hotel if your a different race other then white.

Staff is very rude and racists, I wouldnt recommend this garbage establishment to anyone, Especialy if your Mexican-American or any other race other then caucasian, staff says they have breakfeast but when you walk in unless your caucasian you wont be having breakfast, its sad that they have this racist guy named frank operating this garbage establishment, basicaly if your not white you wont get room service or anything they say they would do, I guess times havnt changed here.

Carpet is disgusting, police cars outside at least once a week, do not disturb sign ignored, Wi-Fi goes out frequently, staff ignored my request for lamp due to poor lighting in room, staff was rude when I toasted a bagel, bad coffee, someone sanding loudly in the morning, customer service does not feel welcoming, feels more bare essentials. This place could be nice if staff had better attitude. Door does not work properly, one of the maintenance people is very unfriendly. Not 420 friendly.

Room was more like a suite. They were clean and well maintained. Breakfast was phenomenal. Service was friendly. The owners must take pride in providing great quality at a competitive price.

Cleanish and affordable. They will yell at you if your not out of the room by 10:55. And I mean yell in the literal sence off the word. Kind of weird and creepy,,, but sort of fun.

It's great for the price … unless you would prefer not hearing about the evils of Obama from the staff. Or if you want 4 legs on your bed to support you. Or if you plan on checking out at the actual agreed upon time. Our car was packed and my friend was brushing his teeth at 10:56 AM. I was standing outside of the room waiting for him and enjoying the sun when a woman came around the corner of the office and actually yelled (IN THE LITERAL SENSE OF THE WORD) even border line screamed. "GET OUT OF MY ROOOOOOM! " It almost seemed like a joke or somthing. She was scowling and bitter and … kinda funny In pitifully way. I'd say go there it was kinda fun getting screamed at by a stranger for not checking out early.

Horrible Mistreatment! My friend & I stayed here since the mountain roads were not a great option for her, & I had a nice experience at this location before. All was fine until checkout. She left around 9 am & since I had been battling the flu I stayed until checkout. At 10:50 I called the front desk asking for an extra 30 minutes which if anyone has ever stayed at a hotel/motel knows is not a wild request. I was in need of another quick shower-flu related… The owner Frank answered & stated that his housekeepers were hourly & that I would be costing him money which is not what any manager should ever say to a guest. I said I would do my best to get out as soon as possible. At 11:05 he called the room & instantly started yelling at me & saying it was 11:15 & I had to leave instantly! I stated that I was packing my bags and leaving within a few & that his time was off by 10 minutes according to the clocks in the room. I also stated this was unreal & that it was clearly harassment. I hung up on his yelling as would anyone. One minute later he was pounding on the door threatening the police & used his key to open the door yelling at me to instantly leave. At exactly 11:15 I walked out of the room just as I would have had he not flipped out. To say the least, it left me feeling extremely distraught. It is truly sad that a small business owner is willing to risk his reputation over a few minutes. Go Elsewhere!

Friendly staff and very affordable!

My room was clean and comfortable. Nice flat screen TV with 60+ channels. Parking is convenient. Excellent value!

I have been here off and on over a year… say's volumes… I love to meet all the visitors from across the planet… Ozzie's. No offence. Australians… Norse… Norway… All over America… Manager is honest and more than fair… Come visit and stay awhile.

Great place to stay! Room was fine for what I was looking for. Staff was excellent, accommodated every request I had, & I had a few odd ones. They let me check in @ 10am (called the night before), even though check in time was 3pm. Even the guests were friendly. I'll be back!

We arrived Sept 1 and were greeted by the new owner. We asked for a recommendation for dinner and he insisted on driving us there. He gave us his cell number and said to call him regardless of how late it might be to come and pick us up. The room was very clean and cozy and the breakfast very nice. You don't find service like this in too many places anymore. We will stay here again on future visits to Montrose.
