Very poor customer service!

I had reserved a room for the 30th of October and was stuck in Pueblo because of the snow storm we had, and some of the roads were even closed. I called that morning to to cancel my reservation because I was unable to travel due to the storm and was told that the new owner had no compassion and I would be charged for the room. It sounds like greed to me because they did charge me. So I will never stay at the Black Canyon Motel in Montrose again I hope the $53.00 dollars you stole from a disabled veteran was wroth losing a customer over. I hope my fellow veterans will not stay here and go down the street to nicer motel.

Eric and Deedee treat you like family. BCM is literally the best motel in town. Don’t go anywhere else if you find yourself in Montrose!

Nice place to stay! I would recommend it. The room was clean and spacious. The place isn’t brand new but it is well kept. Desk personnel were very nice and helpful. Have a free breakfast. We had a good experience here.

The people running this are super nice. It seems relatively clean but there are bugs everywhere. I wouldn't stay here again, friends staying here say they have bugs in their room as well. Also the hot water is not hot, after 5 minutes it gets warmish.

Great little place. Very cozy, super friendly and helpful staff. It's also great to have a little bench seat outside in front of your door. I recommend it for families and travelers looking for somewhere to stay in the area.

For a 40 plus year old motel surprisingly clean and nice rooms. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast indicated deluxe. That is a bit of a stretch but the waffle maker helped. Also very small dining and food area. This is the only reason for 4 stars. I'd stay here again.

This used to be a great motel. Stayed here many times. This year, it seems to be lacking. Our a/c unit only works on high. It sounds like a tornado for 2 hours, and then finally shuts off when it feels like about 30 degrees. In about 20 minutes it feels like it is 90 degrees and the tornado turns on for 2 more hours. On top of this, every time a room around us uses the water, it sounds like our shower is running. The toilet runs on and off all night also. I think we will look elsewhere next time.

Friendly service, clean rooms. Had a leaky toilet and a light out in my room, but the AC works great and the night was quiet, relaxing, and comfortable. Free breakfast area gets super crowded, but the coffee was decent and the fresh waffles were a nice touch.

I have family in Montrose and have been stayed here many times over the years. However, I have never seen the place as clean and well turned-out as it was this past weekend. I don't know if there's new ownership or management, but the folks there now are doing a very, very nice job, especially a housekeeper named Maria who added many personal touches in tidying up my room. I was happily surprised by all of this and look forward to my next visit! :)

Great place for the money! Clean room… quiet… cold air… nice room… linens smell nice… no smoke smells… laundry room was nice to have because we didnt have an iron present. The Wi-Fi was our only complaint… signal good but slow… everything else great!

This is the 4th or 5th time staying here and they have made improvements to both the rooms and the building. Bed was very comfortable and the room very reasonable.

Clean. Super friendly staff! Continental breakfast is great. Accommodating folks. We traveled all night and had an early interview. They allowed us to check in early so I could get ready. It is always the cheapest room in town. We have had issues with the heating in the room and the water pressure is super intense!

Great rates! Rooms are decently sized. The breakfast is decent, but there are no sources of protein. The staff is super nice!

The motel has been in the years but squeaky clean.
Also, the breakfast is extensive and tasty, although it is a very inexpensive motel.

It was clean, cheap, and didn't smell bad. There were dollars in the Bibles and extra pillows in the drawers. Better than a chain motel for the price, and there were no doors between the rooms that would let you hear your neighbor. Great.

A no frills establishment with clean, very comfortable beds, a refrigerator, coffee service, HBO, and Continental breakfast. Large, easy-access parking lot that accommodates RVs and trailers. Pets allowed. Gas station with snacks and sodas within walking distance.

I have never stayed there, but my husband has several times for work as he often drives to the mountains for deliveries. We booked 2 rooms there for when our family came out to visit through Travelocity and we were unable to make it. They were so nice, and comped us 2 nights there even though it is not their regular policy. They are super friendly and accommodating. My husband is super picky and will only stay where it's clean! I would recommend this hotel and look forward to when I can stay there myself.

Not all that bad. We had a double room with a tight/sticky door and it was pretty basic with the bare essentials. Included with the room is a continental style breakfast. All rooms are accessible from the outside. The one building is two stories but all the doors access the outside and there is no security doors. I know some people prefer a safer environment (secured doors with key access and not ground level) and if that's the case you may need to look elsewhere for accommodations. The do have a pool and a small playground. I would stay here again.

The rooms are very clean and the staff is accommodating. The only issue was the TERRIBLE Wi-Fi! At times there was not any available or it was very weak.

What an amazing National Park! Be sure to stop by the South Rim Visitor Center.

Nice place, roomy rooms, east side of town, close to almost everything, renovated, lots of good dirtbiking around.

Our room was horrible! It was back in the corner & still being renovated, which I would not have minded had I known however, I had reserved and was chraged for a renovated room. There was not a dresser nor a clothes rack in the room so the only place to put my things was on one chair. When we turned the heater on the smell was so terrible that we had to open the door & window to the cold night air to clear out the stench. The manager could not give us a price reduction but promised the owner would call but he never did. The Black Canyon Hotel was AN AWFUL EXPERIENCE!

Loaned me an extension cord for my battery charger. On the other side of the ledger, one bar of soap sink and bath? One packet of coffee? Bed and a/c good. Slept well.

Super friendly. Very reasonably priced. I felt the rooms were clean and I loved that they are smoke free. Breakfest didn't include eggs but waffles, fruit, cereals, coffee, and an assortment of pastries and donuts. We were very comfortable and happy with our stay.

We were in On 22 June 2017. We asked for a non-smoking room, but come to find out getting there it was "smoking room". The non smoking rooms have labels outside the doorways. It stank horribly. They ran a deodorizer, but not much help. The bathroom sink, only had hot water, go figure. Old hotel, old rooms. Lounge area breakfast was minimal, not that I wanted a full spread. Microscopic bathroom. We won't stay there again.

Pretty decent place to stay. My room was at the far end of the building so it had its own private side patio with a separate door leading out to it. The room itself was spacious with plenty of room between the bed, TV and table. My friends staying at the Baymont were far more cramped. The carpet in the room was a little old, very dirty by the vanity. The rest of the fixtures were dated. The shower had a lot of power. Breakfast was standard continental fare but the pastries were better than normal. All in all a very good motel for the price.

I've stayed here before. Twice. It's clean, the staff is friendly and the breakfast is basic but tasty. I'm staying here again in June. To find a place this decent and clean for about $80 during the early summer season, when everyone else is already jacked up into the $120+ range and will probably be higher in July and August, is a gift. No, it's not perfect. I've never stayed at a place that is. But they don't gouge you, either. That's worth my repeat business. Oh, and they're just down the street from Ted Nelson's Steakhouse.

This hotel gave a room key to a criminal who then robbed my friends hotel room. They did not check ID. They did not apologize. They did not accept responsibility. Very shady indeed. The woman who obtained the key wasn't asked for ID by hotel staff because she was crying and they just gave her a key and let her in. She didn't even have the name right. Seems like an internal job…

Stayed there for one night, room was large and clean, two King size beds, clean shower. Wifi wasn't great in the evening, not enough capacity for all the people accessing it (websites not loading, constantly losing connection) Supermarkets are nearby. Breakfast was fine.

Our room was not great, marginal or even acceptable. There was a red substance (looked like blood to us) on the bathroom door and handle. The front desk came and cleaned it. When we turned back the covers we found a very long black hair between the sheets. Fortunately, there were 2 beds in the room. We ended up taking off the stained top cover, bringing in our own blankets and pillows and sleeping on top of the second blanket. There was a broken cover over the telephone cord, which was hanging from the wall. The cover isn't a deal breaker, but adds to the totality of how bad this room was. We attempted to find another room elsewhere, to no avail. If it hadn't been late and we weren't exhausted, we would have loaded our SUV back up and driven to another town. Needless to say, this is NOT a place I would recommend to anyone.

Folks here are nice and at your service. If it's a 1 nighter I highly recommend due to the price.

Clean room, great breakfast, outside pool with a JACUZZI! 15 minutes from Black Canyon NP. Outdoor wooden area with grill. Stayed in here for two nights, will stay again. Well worth it.

These folks are the best. The rooms are clean, they are comfortable and nice flat screen. We had a friend helpin us with a room as we were too tired to drive on and out of money. They let us into the room when I told them my wife was sick and really tired, before my buddy called with credit card payment. Great location too. Go here everytime, the price is great too.

Considering it's a motel, this place was great. Extremely clean and you can't beat price. I would definitely recommend staying here if on a budget. The best motel I've stayed at ever.

Very nice for the money. I want 5 things when I travel on vacation Motel, i. E. Park outside the room for the short luggage carry Nice clean, good sized room Free breakfast HD TV This place had them all and in addition, we stayed in the room next to the office (110) and it had a handicapped bathroom, so it was very roomy. We stayed in 5 different places during our 8 day trip, this was one of our favorites.

Although this is an older property, it is clean and well cared for. The room was very comfortable. We were in a pet room with our Toy Fox Terrier. No odor. Dog walk was convenient but could have been better maintained. Breakfast was better than expected and the coffee wasn't bad either (unless you are hooked on Starbucks). Would stay there again if we visit Montrose. Price was very reasonable.

We stayed here two nights in Feb 2013. We had a great stay there with two of our children. The beds were comfortable. And most of all the room was clean and smelled nice. We had friends with young children stay in the room next door and we could not hear anything through the wall. We'll stay again.
