This is a quite nice Motel 6. It has grass and trees around it. Easy access off the freeway. Lots of parking. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. There is a Black Bear Diner right next door. Where are gas stations and fast food restaurants nearby as well. Yreka has a very nice downtown historic district.

This is a tough review to write, because the two women at the front desk — — one of whom was very pregnant and came in on her off day to help — — were in a horrible mess through no fault of their own. A brush fire had closed the I-5 and forced evacuations, so stranded people were all looking for a place to stay. Then the motel's computer system went down, so the staffers had to do everything by hand (including the old-fashioned credit card imprint machine) and use multiple lists to figure out which rooms were available. This resulted in a couple of rooms being rented out twice. I'd made and paid for my reservation weeks in advance because I was on a trip, but I still had to wait in line for more than an hour. Honestly, those of us in that position — — there were several — — could have been checked in and gotten out of the overstuffed lobby to make way for others. But it was what it was. The motel is fine for a quick stop, and there's a diner next door. I've stayed here before and no doubt will again on my trips north. I just hope there isn't another fire or computer outage.

Check in woman was friendly; room was very clean. I believe the Wi-Fi offered should not be an additional charge. The upload and download speeds were VERY SLOW. I have never seen a speed that was. 35 for upload! That speed should not be paid for, included with the room.

Really thin walls, found a giant bug on my pillow when I walked in. Still generally pretty clean and had no other issues with the room. Front desk attendant was nice.

The gal that checked me in was outstanding. When I made my reservation online, I requested a quiet room. She seemed genuinely concerned about finding me a quiet room and did just that. I was also able to park my motorcycle in a parking stall directly in front of the office, as there were no parking stalls in front of the room. This provided a layer of security for my bike and peace of mind for me. Motel 6's are a hit and miss. This location was a hit.

Good location right off the freeway. Pet friendly and very good price. Room was clean and comfortable.

Good price and “smelled clean”, but both beds sheets were not washed. They both had TONS of black hairs in the sheets, and other crumbles or food particles… as well as the towels folded/hanging in the bathroom had black hairs on them. It literally looked like the maid just remade the bed and refolded the used towels. Luckily we have been on a camping trip and had our own towels and sheets! The corners of the floors had a build up of dirt and debris… but for the price it would be great if their maid did her job… the front office said they would talk to the maid — didn’t offer a discount or anything (I didn’t ask for one — just wanted to let her know her staff wasn’t doing their job).

When I checked in, the desk clerk failed to mention that there was no working air conditioning for the entire building. When I phoned the front desk to ask how to cool down the room, she said she didn't know. I asked the people in the adjoining room if they had air conditioning. They said that management had promised to fix it the day before: that it was so hot the night before, they had to sleep with the door open all night. I found a La Quinta in Medford, OR; an hour north and made a reservation, packed up my car and left. NEVER AGAIN will I stay at a Motel 6.

It's a motel 6. Clean rooms and a hot shower. For the price it's pretty damn good. No breakfast, no bar, just rooms. If you wanted that stuff you'd be at a more expensive place.

Pricing and staff is awesome. Wish I could say the same for the room we stayed in. The room we had could definitely use mopping! The room also only came with a tiny ass shower. Never had a room with just a shower before, (and I travel often). It wasn't even decently hot. The heater/ac suuuucks. The room was cold so we needed to turn it on and was blasted with nasty ass stinky odor lol. The price outside the motel said 49 bucks so we chose it but apparently it just hasn't been updated… and standard price was served. All guuucci. We had been traveling alllllll day so NEEDED a place to rest up! Also they asked for IDs of every patrons whos staying for the night, motel guy made it make sense and sounds safe so why not! (Except when he mentioned that there had been situations where someone would attain card key to rooms that isn't theirs! )

The most disgusting place I've ever seen. Bed wasn't made. Feces and blood on the walls. Within 5 minutes of checking in was threatened by another guest. Ashley at front desk said there was nothing they could do about it. Hair on shower and towels. Mold in toilet showed pictures to Ashley and she acted like we were wrong for requesting a refund. Then argued about giving us a receipt for proof they refunded money. Crack heads wandering around. Homeless wandering around. Will never recommend or return.

Comfortable and clean. Always a good price. This was my second stay and the service and product are very good.

The outside looks pretty worn. Inside you can tell that updates have taken place. There wasn't any soap to wash hands with — I used my body wash. Also, there was only one towel and it was a, small hand towel.

New decor is very nice and pretty. Staff very nice and helpful. Bad point. They allow dogs and if owners don't pick up after their dog, the hotel did a very poor job of doing it either. There was poop everywhere you walked.

I like the new décor. Very nice. Clean. But irresponsible dog owners don't pick up their dog excrement. But worse than that, the hotel doesn't either. There was dog excrement everywhere. That is a real turnoff.

We were tired and just needed to get some sleep. When we woke up and shocked how nasty the carpets were in the morning, it was pretty gross. Someone had broke part of the cord to the phone so it was hard to make a call to the front desk. Staff was very friendly and at least the area was fairly quiet.

The room was average, but the woman at the front counter was nice and gave me a ground floor room when I asked. I do wish they had HGTV or Food Network as television options. The heater fan was a bit clunky/loud, but the temperature was good and their is a restaurant right next door.

Very courteous and friendly staff checking in. Pillows were surprisingly comfortable as well as the bed. I will definitely be staying there again in the future.

The stay was very nice, the room was very sufficient. We have stayed here before, so we returned. If anything, the mattresses are stiff and I noted that one in our room made a crackling noise. I'm sure we'll return, this is a perfect stopping point for us when traveling to Oregon.

I was there visiting friends that were in town and were staying there. When we arrive we observed the police beating somebody up downstairs from our friends. The rooms did not seem very inviting or comfy. When my friends asked for an extended checkout they were given an extra hour due to the inconvenience of the police distraction downstairs. The pool looks nice and clean. I did not check it out because it is not the right weather for swimming. My friends didn't complain to me about their stay at all so I'm pretty neutral. I don't plan on staying anytime soon and I probably wouldn't recommend it to anyone either.

Ice machine non-functional, toilet tank in room leaked so it periodically ran all night, and there was something else like this I can't remember right now. Generally not well maintained facility. The desk clerk was very nice and efficient however.

The staff was very accommodating and quite friendly. My problem with Motel 6 was that the air conditioner in my room did not work and was blowing out hot air. When I reported this to the front desk, all that they could do was bring me a fan. The fan worked better, but the room would have been much more comfortable if the air conditioner was working.

The shower floor had some hair and? I think the maid forgot to wipe it out after she cleaned the rest of the shower. The shower pressure and shower head rocked! That shower was the highlight of the room. The bed was hard and noisy. The comforter had stains in the middle of it… but that is normal when light color comforters and towels are used. The room was very quite which I was so happy about! I could not hear the family next door when I was in the room! I did hear them when I was outside. I was bummed that there was no shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, and coffee in the room… The staff was very friendly.

This place is very nice staff willing to help all they can my grandkids enjoy the pool was a little cold. Lots of flies in your room and the floors seems to be heavy Dirt, gets on your feet Brown shower to bed period 6 Motel needs to work on keeping floors clean I've noticed it most of them or the same dirty floors. But I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

Very thankful for employees who are quick to make changes to make our stay as pleasant as possible (change us to a non-smoking room when it was accidentally reserved). Appreciated being able to get extra towels quickly. Love being able to have our dog with us.

We found our room to be pretty comfortable. The updated room decor was pleasant. It was overall very clean except the bedspread had a stain on it and the floor was so dirty that our clean feet turned black from walking from the shower to the bed. All the hotel staff was courteous. We enjoyed the swimming pool on the morning of check out.

It was cheap to stay there. There room was clean. The only problem I had was that the bathroom had no lock and the ac wasn't working. Other than that, everything was good.

The price was very affordable, but you do get what you pay for. The room was minimalist. There were 3 adults, but the room only had 1 large towel and 3 hand towels. We called the front desk for a few more towels, none ever showed up. Note: check before getting in the shower! I stay in Motel 6's all across the west/northwest (i travel with my dog and they are very dog friendly) and I appreciate the remodels that have been done, but these beds were the worst. They were firm, but they made a very loud crunching sound. How do you put "loud" mattresses in a motel? That really is my major beef with this motel. Black bear restaurant next door is delish, made up for noisy sleep.

I have never stayed here, but my family has. They had 2 adjoining rooms. In one room the toilet would not flush. The rooms were very clean, but maintenance in the rooms could be highly improved. The securtiy gate on the pool does not work and a note was posted to reach over to get in. Housekeepers were very nice.

I have stayed here many times before but this time it was a little scary. There seem to be more "permanent" residents. Our door was hard to close and latch and the bathroom door would not latch at all. It was a warm night and the air conditioning was not working well at all. I will probably not stay again.

We stayed at this Motel 6 due to the location and convenience during a road trip to Oregon. Yreka has its charm however this Motel 6 was not that due to the tremendous amount of people traffic that passes through here. The accommodations were fair — plenty of hot water, easy check in, adequate parking and they even had a pack n play available for our use (we were traveling with a 6 month old). However, the mattresses leave a lot to be desired, the bedspreads appeared soiled and the floors and base boards looked grungy to the point of not wanting to walk bare footed inside the room. Due to the motel being quite full on this holiday weekend, it was slightly noisy but the location is far away enough from freeway that it is quiet enough. It sits right next door to a well known diner which adds to the convenient location. I don't think I will stay again unless there is a dire need.

Its ok, when me and my family where going on a vacation from reno to eugine we had to stop here, we really didnt see a whole lot of it, but I would recommend it.

We had the unfortunate luck of having car trouble on the summit, coming from Oregon. When looking for a pet friendly hotel in Yreka, we found this motel 6. I've got to say, regardless of the missing refrigerator (which I seldom use anyway) the hotel was in an excellent location, the staff was helpful and friendly, the room was extremely clean, had a large shower, several TV channels and the price was great! I am an animal lover so my dogs are my babies and they most always travel with us. Knowing this Motel chain's open pet friendly policy, I'll never stay at another hotel/motel chain again! I will certainly be making this our stay-over hotel for our future trips to CA.

Good for a good night's sleep. Billy (nite clerk) was very nice and answered my questions at 5 am and was helpful with info for future stays.

The motel had a bed and TV, nothing else. It was OK for resting after along drive. Non Smoker room was actually used by smokers and bathroom sink was stained with made it worse. Price was good, but for wi fi etc. You have to pay more, which makes it not very attractive place to stay. Many other places had wi fi, microwave, fridge and continental breakfast included in the same price range.

Driving a long distance and was looking for a place to stay at a reasonable price. I really liked Motel 6 because the room was very clean. The spring mattress was not as comfortable however, I still slept well. They provide fresh, hot coffee from 6am-9am and plenty of fast food restaurants near by as well as Black Bear Cafe next door and some coffee stands. No refrigerator in the room but, a lot of TV channels to watch. If you are looking to get some rest, save money, and want a clean stay, Motel 6 in Yreka is a good one. I'd definitely come back if I were driving back through the area.

Over all I found your staff friendly and helpful. The room I was booked in had no dresser drawers. But the motel did accommodate my wishes for a microwave and a small refrigerator in which I enjoy having. But I did have a complaint. I had a non smoke room but the guest before me smoke in the room. I wish the cleaning staff would have work in get rid of the smoke smell. I do not smoke but it was a heavy smell of smoke in the room. The night clerk did give me some spray that helps a little bit. I did report the situation with the day clerk when I check out.

Only 2 good points, 1) the room was clean; 2) there was 3 good locks on the door and 2 on the window. This is a scary place, don't go.

Hmmmm. Motell 6 Yreka, CA: 1 free outlet in the room (excluding the bathroom) and half of that is taken up by the TV. I can plug in my phone or my laptop — but not both (unless I plug one or the other in bathroom or unplug the RV). Every other M6 room has an outlet behind the headboard; of course, you have to move the bed to use it. This room has one but it is closed up by on outlet cover. Not a very business friendly room.

I know you get what you pay for, but this one is bad. No reflection on the help.

Nice employees, a lot nicer then the one in anahiem by Disneyland. $45 for 2 beds and 4 people. Great deal just needed sleep before getting back on road. Was perfect.

Well first off the bathroom had NO toilet paper or towels. The WHOLE place was filthy and had trash everywhere. The room was VERY dirty, the bedding was dirty, the mattress looked like there had been a dried puddle of blood on it and the other looked and smelled like someone had peed on it. There was trash under the beds. The beds were very uncomfortable, it was like sleeping on a rock. The trash cans in the room still had trash in if from who ever stayed in it before.
