The front desk sera was very polite and professional. One of the best places I've stayed at for the room to price ratio.

Nice place to spend the night. Watch that first step into and out of the rooms 5 to 9 inches. Chinese still delivering an hour after close just across the street. Amongst many other conveniences surrounding the place.

First room we were given had its door still open (not closed and locked), old food in the fridge, and food scraps on the floor beneath the desk. Also, no towels. They generously moved us to the next room, but the jacuzzi tub was broken (didn't work), and I still found a beer bottle cap on the floor beneath the desk. The bed wasn't too comfortable. The a/c didn't sufficiently cool the room. Stains on the couch. I didn't sleep too well.

Good location between the beach and downtown, rooms are always clean and the rates are much better than near the boardwalk. The Jacuzzi rooms are also pretty nice. Definitely could be a bit better with maintenance as I've stayed in a few rooms with burned out lights. Good pizza place across the street too. This has been my go-to place in Santa Cruz for a few years now and I've never had any major complaints.

Hotel was decent, clean and affordable. Small breakfast selection but perfect for being on the go. Staff was VERY accommodating. Staff member Sarah was AMAZING. She was so nice and friendly on the phone and in person. She was so patient and flexible with guest's demands. We love you Sarah!

First off the day we arrived we asked for a few extra towels and staff said yes but three hours and 2 phone calls to the front desk finally we got them then on in the next few rooms was a big family with lots of children who were outside playing until 2 am knocking on people's doors so at checkout we told the person at the front desk and he completely did not care saying why didn't you call the cops. And housekeeping kept opening our door to clean after we told them 3 times we are still staying until checkout, and Bring your own haid dryer there's is from the 1800s So I was not very happy with my stay there.

Room looked nice. Everything worked fine. Was hoping their free breakfast was more than just cereal. You can kinda hear the noises from outside.

The family suite was amazing! No pool, but great jacuzzi. Overall good experience. Will come back.

Easy to drive to UCSC, turned right way up, turn left to walk more than 10 minutes to the bus station, two supermarket on the left, opposite a 20-minute walk to the beach, cold boiled eggs for breakfast of sweet cakes and sweet breads, bread can be heated up, a microwave refrigerator coffee maker in the room. Many people booking on weekends.

The Sunset inn was a nice treat. We have had a few dirty motels in Santa Cruz and we're surprised when we found this Inn. The grounds and the rooms are very clean. Our room is comparable to a Holiday inn. We were expecting a standard type room and it is more like a suite. They also have a hot tub and a sauna that is in a garden like setting. The staff was very friendly and helpful. You can't go wrong here especially for the price. We will definitely be staying here again.

Super nice people at desk. Cheapest available when we got to town. Nice rooms. Solid all around. Going to extend a second night.
