Good location, close to the sea, the pier and the amusement park. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast included minimalist but good. Very nice staff.

Great place to stay if visiting the boardwalk. Less than a five-minute walk to the water. Parking lot is pretty small if you have a big vehicle might be difficult. But the staff here is always wonderful. There are some very nice rooms some with large patio and table seating.

Service and staff are very nice and friendly and literally just seconds away from the boardwalk. You can hear and see the pacific ocean. I gave it 4 star because didn't have alot of variety for breakfast but overall it was an amazing stay. We will definitely come back again.

Updated with modern design and decor. Bright, fresh and clean. Has a microwave and refrigerator. The sheets and towels were good quality but the pillows were flat and bed was medium comfortable. There was bagels, muffins, scones, cut fresh fruit, juice and coffee. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I recommend this hotel for its location, price, freshness. I will stay here again next time I visit Santa Cruz.

Pretty descent stay for one night and being in the King Size room with Jet Tub for only $140, can't beat that! The beds were clean and the bathroom was clean. The furniture could definitely be replaced like the couch cushions and the chairs — obviously they were pretty worn. We also had a room with a balcony and could see the boardwalk right down the street which was awesome. Continental breakfast is okay if you're not feeling up for a big breakfast and want some scones or a bagel, but would definitely recommend if you're wanting a cheap one-day get away!

I loved the location, price, room design, and the overall aesthetics. My only downsides we're poor heater performance and a warm-at-best water temperature, despite the sink water getting very hot. I'd definitely go again though, considering my stay was just a quick overnight one to enjoy the boardwalk.

Cute but cold. The heater is having a hard time keeping up since they were working on the room before we arrived and it was opened up. Every thing looks great and staff is friendly.

It's not bad for the price they are asking. I would even say it's good enough. Clean room, next to beach, parking spot. Was one minus, heater didn't really work.

Excellent customer service and the rooms had laminate flooring which is really nice compared to the carpet you usually see in a hotel.

It's located conveniently just across the street from the Santa Cruz Beach and Boardwalk, the rooms are nice and clean, service is friendly, and while their continental breakfast isn't very extensive it is filling.

My room had almost NO HOT WATER, when I asked about it they said it was because to many people were using wster. Totally unacceptable.

Very convenient location! Literally 2 min walk from the board walk! I've uploaded a picture of how close it is. The hotel is clean, secure, and rooms are nicely decorated. Offers lots of parking. The beds are comfortable. Even though your so close to all the attractions you can't really hear it in the room but you can hear the concerts going on from the beach.

BEWARE COCKROACHES! On our 2nd night of our 2 night stay at the Carousel Beach Inn, I saw a cockroach scurry across the floor and under the bed. As I didn't know a lot about cockroaches I looked up online and learned that if you see one there is likely hundreds hiding and there is some potential to take them home in luggage. Although I do not have a photo I know what I saw. I let the front desk person know that we'd be leaving and asked for a refund for that night's stay. He said he wasn't surprised about the cockroaches being so close to the boardwalk and he'd ask the manager about a refund. As I packed to leave, the manager appeared very sympathetic and said she'd do the same in my position but insisted they weren't infested with cockroaches as they spray pesticides weekly for cockroaches. She assured me the director (who needed to approve the refund) was very understanding and would be in touch in 24 hours. I never heard back from anyone and have tried repeatedly to get in touch with them. I don't tend to complain easily or write negative reviews but feel I'd want to know prior to booking.

Great friendly staff. Miguel at front desk to house keeping, maintenance, security love these guys. Would definitely recommend over other locations we have stayed at that had odd smells and not so friendly staff. Usually we stay at condo's but last minute booking fortunately we were able to pick up couple nights at the Carousel. Glad we did clean, smells good no musky odor and location perfect for access to boardwalk. About seven minutes from Mystery Spot. Thanks Miguel and the Carousel staff for making our stay memorable. Look for visiting in the future.

I have stayed here for the last the 10 years and it just keeps getting better! Last summer we got a 2nd floor room overlooking the boardwalk… Amazing! The staff is wonderful. The rooms are clean. And we slept with the windows open. The beds were comfortable and crisp clean linen and towels. I slept like a baby! Nice continental breakfast. And you can't beat the location! Right across from the beach boardwalk. Love this place.

Was a wonderful place. Perfect location, rooms were fun and clean. Friendly staff. Needed lodging for a youth roller derby team. Lauri went above and beyond with making this trip a success. Been traveling and booking hotels with this team for 3yrs. This was the best experience I've had with Booking and Checking in. Thank you Lauri and Staff. I'm ready to come back with my family on a personal trip.

The room was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The few staff I met were polite and helpful. I enjoyed the view of the Boardwalk from the balcony. I would definitely return here.

Best place for the money in santa cruiz. Ok breakfast. Clean. Reminiscent of a 80's beach hotel but has been updated. Will always be my choice.

Honestly, I was surprised by how clean and affordable Coastview Inn was! In comparison to other location in close proximity to the Boardwalk, this was a perfect stop for my daughter and I! We are repeat visitors and will continue to stay here! The day and evening staff are very accomodating and super friendly! Plus AAA discounts are accepted! All around… WORTH IT!

Quiet when I, side the room. Close to the Boardwalk. Secluded parking. Clean rooms. Coffee at included daily breakfast was delicious. Absolutely no complaints.

Decent motel — great location literally across from the Boardwalk, and came with a parking spot, which was super helpful. Rooms though were no frills/nothing special — decent bed (uncomfortable pillows), wobbly tables, clean, with full blast AC.

Very clean and amazing location. Staff is exceptional and have made the stay easy. Great breakfast included with my room. But the most amazing part of this is how close you are to the boardwalk and beach. I woke up and Wales the beach for sea shells. We walked back to the room to clean up and then straight to the boardwalk. All without driving or paying for parking. Amazing location!

I booked this room during a coast trip with my family. It says steps away from the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, and they're not kidding! The rooms are really nice. I love that there is no carpeting in the rooms, to me it just gives a cleaner feeling when there is no carpeting. They were helpful giving us suggestions of where to eat for dinner, since we check in later in the day. Their breakfast is also really nice considering it's a complimentary continental. They offered fresh fruit, scones, muffins, bagels, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, OJ, etc. Excellent hotel, I will DEFINITELY be back when we take our next trip to Santa Cruz.

Rooms were clean and staff was nice. Best location. After driving through santa cruz im glad I picked this place. Anything within a mile I was considering online was a dump (even the chain brands). There is no carpet but the floors are new and its a beach hotel. Fenced in parking. Breakfast was not the biggest but sufficient.

We took our kids to Santa Cruz and chose to stay here because of the location. We loved our stay and will be coming back to stay here in August! I highly recommend anyone to stay here.

Arrived and checked in by a sweet girl. Went to our room which neither heater worked. Got moved to a two bed room above us, to be up until 1am because the people on the floor above us. Still making noise after the second noise complaint. The view is great too. A renovated parking lot with construction going on. Woke up to take an ice cold shower that the maintenance claimed as 'normal temperature'. The breakfast was limited with no plates or bowls given. A mediocre stay, but expected more of a better experience right next to the boardwalk, on which they have NO information about.

Second time staying here. Friendly staff, clean modern rooms. Great location, walk to boardwalk and wharf.

We have been staying at the Carousel every year since it opened! The Carousel has recently been remodeled and looks great! The furnishings and everything about the rooms has been re-vamped. The photos of the Boardwalk above each bed really make the decor pop! Another really nice renovation is that the carpets have been removed and new laminate flooring has been installed. New air conditioners while not necessary this close to the coast, are still a nice addition. The rooms are beautifully done. My daughter and I just completed our annual mother/daughter Santa Cruz weekend and have only good things to say about the remodel! We give the Carousel a genuine THUMBS UP! If you plan on spending the night at the boardwalk, this is the spot! Hotel is right across the street. When your done at the beach, walk back to your room. When the kids need a break, walk back your room. Wanna save money, bring your own food, and walk back to your room! It is just so convenient. Hotel and room was small, but clean and comfortable. All rooms look like they have a balcony, we got lucky and had one facing the boardwalk! Staff was very friendly and even allowed us an early check in since room was available (9am). Only downside, but not worth downgrading to four stars. Breakfast only had muffins and bagels. Might I suggest those little prepackaged cereals, for the kids at least. But if your reading this, just be sure to pack that if you got kids. They have mini fridges in the room. Overall, GREAT hotel.

The best part about staying at this motel is that it's about 100 yards from the main entrance of the Boardwalk, so it's very convenient and we saved money on parking. Otherwise, it's a worthy place to lay your head, but nothing remarkable. I'd love to see this motel get renovated. I'd certainly pay more to stay close.

Called them to let them know I was on a train for three hours to see if my car would be OK for an extra hour. They said too bad and that it would be towed.

My family and I stayed here for 2days and were very happy with the service, parking, and room. Prices were great as we were on a tight budget and the rooms were CLEAN! We even had a little balcony with a couple chairs and table where we sat and had our coffee and muffins.
