If I could give this place no stars, I would! I called Edwin the manager at this location to discuss a refund. We thought someone had hacked us and booked a room at this location. But after numerous calls to our financial institution and the front office of this location, we discovered that it may have been booked by accident 10 months in advance. We received NO CONFIRMATION emails for this reservation so we were a no show. They held over $300 for three days on our card and then took a no show fee of $101.81. We have a son, who is type one diabetic. During this so called stay in California, we were at home in Arizona getting a pump for him. I explained this to Edwin and he said, “there is not enough information for me to give a refund and that I need to take responsibility for my mistake. ” He continued to say that $100 is nothing to him and his business but he was not going to just give money back to someone who clearly made a mistake and is not taking responsibility for “her” actions because he is running a business! I explained that $100 is a lot for me and my family. He ended by saying that this conversation should not be taking place just because I didn’t show for a reservation that I booked! The fault is that of the business, given that I had no confirmation email to then cancel this reservation. Please find a better business to patronize because profit seems to be the only motivator and not compassion or understanding!

Had a great stay with nice staff. The pool area was nice and we got great service from the front desk with a early arrival time after a cruise. It gets a 4 star because it was still unmistakably a motel quality room but the price was fair enough and we were reasonably surprised upon arrival exceeding our expectations.

Great rooms for the price. Nothing fancy here, but not a roach motel by any means. There is a pool and hot tub. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Rooms were spacious, beds were definitely not the quality I was looking for and the pillows were rather small, but when you are tired, it doesn't really matter. My concern, though, was the restroom. Yuck! That sent this Super 8 down the dumps. The bathtub just looked so nasty, to make matters worst, it had a dingy tub mat that had hair stuck underneath it. Then the floor had hair all over it. The toilet did not flush well and was constantly running after it had been flushed. Customer service was good. Guest personnel were quite helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a little questionable with the rotten bananas and sour milk. If it weren't for those things, I would have enjoyed it better.

Overall, it was decent. Pros Free Breakfast, parking, pool, helpful staff; we had a sleep number bed and really nice couch. Our room was a spacious for the value, and house keeping came every day and did a good job, but were respectful of the do not disturb sign. The fridge and microwave in room were invaluable. I've never heard of a hotel doing this, but they offer snacks at night in the lobby, nothing fancy, but still… It was the coolest thing ever. People just snacked, sat in the lobby and hung out. Great way to cultivate an atmosphere to help folks enjoy the company of their friends and family. Let us check out an hour late, very understanding. We almost had to have a package shipped to the hotel. We ended up not, but the staff was well-prepared and happy to help us receive it. Pretty close to some bus stops. The curtains keep the room dark very well. Large closet and lots of drawers. Cons They vacuumed, but they need to shampoo the carpet every once in a while. After we got cleaned up we noticed that just walking around the hotel room turned our newly cleaned feet dark brown (Yuck! ) I guess it could have been the bathroom floor, but that looked clean. Anyway… They don't have conditioner or lotion. They provide bar soap and shampoo, but that's it. No q-tips, etc if you forget stuff like that so don't expect to not pack the essential if you stay here.

The beds were comfy as heck and the towels were nicely folded but the floors looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in years. Very filthy. Breakfast was a joke. Nothing more that boxed waffle batter (delicious but not very healthy) and a toaster with some stale bread on the side.

Efficient and friendly front desk. Comfortable room and fair prices. We enjoy the jacuzzi and pool during the warm weather. This is not a $300.00 per night hotel but the Happy hour snacks and breakfast are included in the cost of the accommodation so the price is right.

The staff is friendly! Breakfast provided at morning & Snacks at evening. Rooms are clean + Jacuzzi & pool. Make reservations because this place is busy.

We have been to this Super 8 3 times. Have only had great experiences so far. The location of the motel has always been perfect for us, as it is located directly on the Pacific Coast Hwy and therefore you are very fast in LA. (Apart from the rush hour)
The furniture is spartan, but the rooms are cleaned every day. Even the bathroom was in top condition — despite uralt flushing. ;-)
The motel is U-fresboed. In the middle is the swimming pool and hot tub.
There is a free daily newspaper for each room every day.
Breakfast is absolutely adequate. There is a "waffle machine, " yoghurts, cornflakes, toasts with a variety of toppings, etc.
Typically American.
There is also coffee with and without caffeine.
We'll keep booking this hostel should we be out and about in Southern California.

I loved this hotel. Right at the loop in Long Beach on PCH! Close to everything! Rooms were very spacious. It even had a little room with another t. V. A microwave, refrigerator, desk and chair. The patio was spacious overlooking the pool. Had a tropical vibe to it with beautiful banana trees and elephant ear trees. The lounge was nice with a waffle breakfast. Plenty of parking. Pretty quiet. I'd stay again.

As usual it's awesome to come back for the month. Great place, great people and always a great stay.

This is a 3-star Hotel that deserves five stars as a 3-star Hotel. The general manager is a pleasure to deal with and so are the rest of the staff. The beds are comfortable the, rooms are clean and the breakfast is good. They have quiet rooms and a nice swimming pool. Everything you could ask for including a low price. Glad we stayed here.

Let me start by saying that you are staying at a Super 8 Motel. You are not paying for five star service. This is a 3-star Hotel. But as a 3-star Hotel it gets 5 stars and even then some. The rooms are clean. The beds are relatively soft. The staff is incredibly friendly. And the general manager is too. They have a pretty good breakfast. The showers worked well. I can't complain. The price we paid to stay here was great.

Edwin and the staff are friendly and profesdional. They do everything possible to make you stay pleasing. Would highly recommend this lodging.

Rooms were adequate, manager was amazing! Free continental breakfast AND at 5pm they serve refreshments~ snacks sodas and even wine! Pool and Jacuzzi area was very nice.

Check in was quick and simple, and the room was just as nice it seemed while booking. Would definitely stay here again!

Great place, nice pool, refrigerator friendy staff, ok internet not to fast, and nice tv's. But I did not have a microwave so that nocked a star off.

Nice Place Probably the best Super 8 yet. I drive a Hot Shot rig with a 40' trailer. I thought there is no way I could park in a Long Beach Super 8. I get here and they had coned off a spot for me. Could not believe it. John at the front desk went above and beyond. I'll stay here again for sure. Nice spacious room with a recliner. This is not anything like what I expected.

It's was so beautiful the pool staff and the location is amazing for what's around. You have food stores and it's all amazing. My gf and I had the best time ever.

Nice location. The rooms are cool they have sliding door in back on most that I saw. My hisband went inside for check-in. We got there like 6 pm. And it wasnt long wait. The room was good it had a lil recliner chair in there a large mini fridge if that makes sense no miceowave or closet. I did have a spot to hang clothes. And the air conditioner was its own switchu turn on. The bathroom was good the only real issue we had was it kept running or something. To get the ice u have to use ur room key and I dont think it says. Pool was cool they had a little part for babies and then the other part was like up to 7 feet I think. They had a hot tube. Before u get to the pool there is a cool chill spot. Not very much lighting the there at night tho. It wss fun! The pictures are the room the view from the parking lot out and the parking lot.

They are nicely located. Friendly and helpful. Staff and management. Quality continental breakfast and evening snacks for the having. Reasonably priced and very acceptable rooms. I stay here whenever I travel to Long Beach!

Ghetto, not worth your money. I booked a room for the night with my two children and after being in the room for less than an hour we spotted a rat in the balcony. Now I didn't think of taking a picture or anything because it's just disgusting. So I went to the office to complain and return the key, they returned my deposit but was asked to come back in the morning to speak to the manager since they told me they didn't provide any refunds. I spoke to the manager and let him know that I didn't stay in the room because I felt uncomfortable being there with my kids after what I saw. I was called a liar, and he was very rude. They returned half of what I paid but I still don't agree that it was fair. I don't recommend this place.

The hotel is falling apart. The repairs I thought it needed last year didn't get done, and now there are more. I will never stay here again. I recomend staying away.

While exhibiting at the NAAA Annual Convention, I stayed at the Hyatt. It connects to the convention center, makes it convenient to walk back and forth. Rooms were very comfortable, on-site restaurants. Tons of attractions nearby, even the Queen Mary. Lots of nice restaurants within walking distance.

The staff seems to be a bit prejudice against people of color. We (my interracial family) reserved and paid for a room and the staff seemed upset about renting the room to us once we arrived. In the morning I went in and got my children and I breakfast before my spouse was up without being asked if I had a room or asked to provide my key card as proof, staff was friendly with my children and I. However, my spouse was questioned when going to get his breakfast and some coffee and had to show his room key. The man seemed dissatisfied to have an African American in his hotel. I was very displeased with how my spouse was treated and would not stay there again due to this fact. Not one white person the whole time I was getting breakfast was asked for proof they had a room even those who looked homely, It was upsetting for my family and an unpleasant experience.

Our second visit to the Super 8 Hotel left us even more satisfied than our first visit a few years earlier. Exceptional service, beginning even before our 2-day stay. Yo wit: e-mails answered within 12 hours, usually within a couple of hours. As before UPS deliveries for us were placed in "our room" before our arrival at the property.

Very great quality for the price although it is a little older and shows its age a bit. Very kind and helpful staff. I really enjoy all of the amenities and the complimentary breakfast and evening happy hour.

The room was clean and check in and check out were both easy. I really liked the extra sitting area in the room. It had a reclining chair, counter, microwave, TV, fridge, and sink. The breakfast was adequate, but mostly sugary foods and carbs. They had apples, bananas, and oranges, oj and apple juice, cocoa and coffee, milk and cereal, bagels and toast, waffles and various condiments.

One of the best super 8 we did. Nice pool area, breakfast not too bad compared to the other super 8 and all was well stocked. Rooms very clean. They offers even the newspaper the morning hanging on your door.

Today is May 15, 2016. My wife and I checked in for one night. We were in love with the pool area. It's amazing. Has a large hot tub, a sauna and even a shallow poll for kids. Big large trees. The service in the lobby was amazing also. The breakfast upstairs is super good and the staff is friendly. We are coming back here soon!

The prices are reasonable for a last second booking. Hotel has good amenities and the location is okay. Rooms are a reasonable size, nothing too exciting.

This hotel is great! Staff is very friendly and will go out of their way to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Great central location. On a busy street with lots of traffic. But after a little while, you don't even notice. Will definitely be staying here next visit.

This place is very nice for what you pay. The rooms are outdated, but huge and clean. Beds are comfy and breakfast was decent. The pool area is awesome! Heated pool, sauna and hot tub.

This place is fantastic! Make your own waffles, coffee, fruit, bagles and more! We're putting this place on the the revisit. Big spacious room, cool hot tub and gazebo!

I arrived early before the check in time at 3 pm but the staff there allowed me to check in. The room is clean with big space. Quiet and wonderful swimming pool. I'll stay again next time I come to Long Beach.

This motel is located in what appears to be a safe area. The rooms are clean with everything you would expect for a short stay. Staff are friendly and approachable.

Great experience staying here! Good breakfast, great wine hour and easy location. Beds were not top notch, but the experience and customer service made up for that!

Service was great, room was awesome, cool that they have complementary wine in the evening from 6-8pm. Love that they have a sauna.

As Australians on a family trip of a lifetime, my wife and I, along with our 4 daughters (aged between 11 and 20) based our Los Angeles in Long Beach as we have a friend who resides in Long Beach. We spent 7 nights with Edwin and his staff at the Super 8 Long Beach and were not disappointed. The service we received was excellent. The attention to our needs and the staff's willingness to oblige was first rate and made our stay a most enjoyable one. The breakfast supplied was also excellent and my kids (okay me too) loved the waffles. 5 star service from a budget priced hotel. I would thoroughly recommend Super 8 Long Beach to anyone needing accommodation in the Long Beach area. Rob Henley, Melbourne Australia.

The room was clean and good size. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The pool area is exceptionally nice.

Very nice place, hot tea and coffee in the lobby. Of the minuses — the Smoking is very persistent smell of tobacco.

This cheap greedy hotel gave my room away and left me stranded in my rental car at 2 a. M! I made a pay later reservation for the end of August and I had a late flight. They claim they tried to call me 3 times but I was on the plane. I didn't have any messages. They are open 24 hours. They claim they tried to charge my card (before I got there) and it didn't work, but the next hotel had no problem with it! The hotel manager didn't care enough and probably just wanted to make full price on the last room in the hotel. The night clerk just shrugged and didn't even offer to help me find another room somewhere else! I WAS FORCED TO SLEEP IN MY CAR BECAUSE THERE WERE NO OTHER VACANCIES IN A DECENT NEIGHBORHOOD. I was traveling alone! I will never recommend this hotel, they are the worst!

Room has fridge, microwave, coffee machine and super chilling AC. Daily cleaning happens. Awesome breakfast and evening snacks. And off course decent price.

We stayed for 1 week at the Super8 in Long Beach. After our arrival we found a nice, clean, well-sized and well-equipped room with a large king size bed. From the balcony we could see the nice pool area. The service staff was very friendly and helpful. They offered free complementary breakfast and Wi-Fi. The breakfast was better than in other hotels. The Wi-Fi was working okay, with short delays we were able to use Netflix in the evening. Parking in front of the room was always possible. There is nothing fancy in the direct neighborhood. It is about a 15 min drive to downtown or the beach. If you plan to visit Los Angeles plan at least 1 hour for the drive as the traffic is pretty bad at all times. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and can totally recommend this hotel.

Have been coming here since the 1990's and the Super 8 is the best its ever been. Mr E gives quality service, the rooms are simple but clean and cared for. Once you figure out how to use the Outer Circle street and Termino/Redondo to leave this area, finding your way is easy. Close to everything by driving on Pacific Coast Hwy and the 405 and 605 are not far away either. Highly recommend. In the middle of SoCal's tourist spots with great price.

My Daughter's 1st job out of college was in Long Beach, CA about 12 years ago. We stayed at this Super 8 for a week while she looked for an apartment. I had to fly back home before she moved into her new apartment. The owner told me when I left if anything happens that she always has a home there at the Super 8. I will never forget how kind they were to us during our stay. To this day, we still say that we know that we will always have a home at the Super 8.
