First time here! Best hotel as far as proximity to the bay! Walking distance to everything. Rooms are basic HI rooms but clean n nice!

Great location, easy access, breakfast included.

Nothing special about this place but good if you want a no frills place to stay.

Nice hotel right on Pacific Coast Highway. A lot of traffic on the road and a bar right next door bit not too loud. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Quite a few restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

The price was great and Breakfast was fresh quality and super clean. Staff is friendly, professional and incredibly helpful. Room and facilities were clean and comfortable.

Very nice room and hotel. Located in central area of planned activities. Beautiful area. Handicap accessible pool and hot tub. Great breakfast; one of the best we've had; many choices. Automated pancake maker is worth watching! Great pancakes too.

One of, if not the, best Holiday Inn Express I have stayed in. Located directly on the famous Pacific Coast Highway. Plenty of areas of interest within walking distance. Very modern rooms, spacious, and cozy. Outdoor pool and hot tub. Friendly staff. Great location for whatever your reason for visit: business, leisure, getaway, etc…

There was a well kept pool and jacuzzi. The bedroom was clean and nicely decorated with a theme to match the location. The bathroom was very clean. There was also a nice size safe in the closet. The staff was friendly and accommodating.

Pretty good place except for the additional $15 fee for parking. The already high prices should compensate for that.

Clean place and a nice staff. It's worry even though it's on a busier road. The snack shop is one of the worst I've ever seen as there is nothing really in it. The pool is small but hasn't seemed crowded. Aside from that it's a fine place to stay and some good places to eat within a 5 to 10 minute walk.

Check in was fast and easy. Erica and McKenzie were polite and made us feel very welcomed. I would highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely be staying here again when we're in the area.

Very attentive and kind staff. Easy location to walk to Newport beach and Balboa. So many great restaurants in walking distance or a short uber. Room's were spacious and clean.

Nice hotel in a great location. Holiday Inn Express have comfortable beds and updated decor, this one falling suit. The location was walking distance from several restaurants and bars. Staff was friendly and prompt with requests.

Awesome staff, clean rooms, short distance from everything. I was welcomed warmly, my room was ready early, and the recommendations were spot on. Overall this property is a worthy example of the namesake.

Good place, comfy bed, when I booked though we asked not to be on the ground floor when we arrived somebody forgot and they couldn't move us, ground floor it was.

HIE is just easy and convenient, always clean and a friendly staff. They're the go to hotel when I travel and this one didn't disappoint.

Bad hotel experience. In their goole ad they say "paid parking" so I booked here. When we checked in they slapped a 15 dollar per night parking fee. There was no mention of it in their website. They have the most uncomfortable bed that I have ever slept in a hotel. The beds are way high, and one sinks into them. Very uncomfortable. When I booked I specifically asked for a "bay view" room. When we checked in it was a room facing the parking lot. They said " you have little bit of a bay view. We try to accommodate as much as we can"

I only came here to inquire about the rates for the day and the receptionist was exceptionally nice! She's great at providing awesome customer service!

It's about what you expect for the price and quality of this chain. It was clean and quiet but nothing fancy. That was good enough for this trip. Some friends of ours had problems with a bad smell in thier room and the staff reacted quickly to correct the problem. That was better than expected.

The hotel is pretty nice over all but it has a couple of big strikes against it for me. $15 charge for parking and no place to plug in your phone on the night stand. The fact I have to move the night stand out, unplug the clock to have my phone on the the night stand plugged in drives me crazy.

Very convenient and simple accomodations. Decent price and close to everything in town.

Friendly staff, great breakfast. Amazing cinnamon rolls btw! Room was clean and they even called us to ask if we wanted more towel after our first night. Thanks for everything!

Complementary breakfast, hot tub and heated pool to ourselves, friendly staff. Fun Mexican food restaurant next door so not far to walk for supper. Hotel was extremely clean.

Better than I expected. Small pool but very modern room and decor. Breakfast was good addition to the room.

Very friendly and helpful staff, lovely clean hotel, pool was a nice treat and the breakfast is BRILLIANT! They'll even give you a to go bag if you like :) overall we loved this hotel and would absolutely go back! :)

It's a perfectly average Holiday Inn Express. Nothing terrible or exceptional. The Wi-Fi is not very good.

We booked a king room and when we showed up the room had 2 queens and was musty. The receptionist called a few minutes later and said they had a king room available and she would come and move us over. She then moved us to a room with 1 queen bed we asked why we moved from 2 queens to 1 queen she said oh sorry my mistake the boiler went out and we have no hot water in the rooms with king beds so if you want I can move you to a room with a king bed you just can't take a hot shower? We cancelled and went to the Marriott which is way nicer. It's my wife's Birthday and we planned on going out to a nice restaurant but by the time we got this mess squared away it's too late. Super dissatisfied with this place. Pay the extra $20 and book another place.

Nice and very clean. Excellent beds and a great breakfast. Fast Wi-Fi and convenient access to the beach and Fashion Island.

Staff was helpful and welcoming. The facilities are well maintained and clean. No complaints whatsoever.

The people are wonderful that work here. Breakfast is free and delicious. Just wish there was a little bit more room in the wheelchair accessible room itself. The bathroom is great and they actually understand what a roll-in shower means. Great location.

We stayed for 2 days and we never expected that me and my family had a great time in this hotel. The employees was helpful. Specially the lady that helped us at the front desk her name was Kenzie. She was knowledgeable and helpful. You guys had a great employee on your hands the type of employee that should be management and if it wasn't for her we wouldn't had such a great time. We know cause we never had experience like this in other places.

Very friendly staff, decent continental breakfast. A bit of construction going on at hotel right now, but nothing too distracting.

Room was very clean. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The soaps were bath & body works which was nice. Breakfast was decent, eggs, sasuage, cereal and what not. And it's walking distance from many great restaurants. Definitely enjoyed my stay.

The parking is very small and if one person parks like… a jerk. It throws off everyone else. Other than that the place is going thru a remodel and even so it was a very nice night for us.

Not bad, good location currently under construction and room had a little bit of a musty smell but overall I'd come back.

Entire hotel smells like a wet sock, the beds felt like I slept on nothing but springs, and you can hear every little noise from the rooms next to and above you. There's only room for about 20 cars to park and then you have to park at the shady bar behind the hotel and hope some drunk doesn't ding your car. The entire place is under construction, which was unadvertised, and there is a makeshift front desk using a folding table at the back entrance of the hotel. The woman attending the front desk (only employee present at 8pm apparently) had absolutely no clue how to do her job or answer our questions. The housekeeping was making the complementary breakfast in the next hotel room over with the door wide open. I've stayed at countless HIE's over the years and this is the first one I've come across that hasn't been the same as all the others. The worst night's sleep I've ever had.

Great location, clean rooms and lots of amenities! Under construction while we were there, but it was still great!

Our check in was very easy and our room was nice and clean. Breakfast was lovely and we had a very nice stay.

Average hotel. Paid parking is a bit of a rip off.

They allow smoking even though they say they don't. They don't enforce the policy. Boo for being part of the problem, instead of the solution.

Mold was growing at the top of the shower walls. Stains all over the carpet. Heard a conversation of hotel staff talking that they had only 2 rooms left and they would double the price, just because they can! That's crap in my opinion. Was woken up around 1am by drunken aussies running down the hall knocking on all the doors and no staff to be found. And worst of all for $200 a night you would think you would get a plasma TV and more the 10 channels.

Ventilation could be better. My poop stained the air for hours. Other than that, ggreat hotel.

Had about 5 parties stay at HE and all enjoyed their stay. The breakfast was good and even had pancakes which the kids loved. Located close to Newport and HB so it was perfect for us. Would recommend it especially if you are going to a wedding in the area.

Needing a hotel that was reasonable priced (we needed to stay for a week), we initially made our reservation with location and price in mind with minimal expectations in regard to the hotel. What a wonderful surprise! We were MORE than pleased with our room, the amenities and the service! The room was clean, VERY comfortable and quiet (even though the hotel was fully booked) with a staff that was extremely helpful. Breakfast was good; fresh cookies were served each afternoon in the lobby. An EXCELLENT experience.
