Loving our stay this far! The grounds are beautiful, the staff attentive and friendly, the room clean with a lovely view. The swimming area has a cool water slide for the kids in one of its 3 pools. There is a golf course, restaurant, bar and wine bar. It’s a short hop to the beach.

Lovely clean hotel, and your staff was wonderful and so helpful. From the girl who checked us in to the parking staff. We were there for our high school reunion and the venue was lovely and food was great. My only complaint would be that we had to stop the music at 10:00 pm.

Great family reunion! Check in was fast & friendly! Valet parking was quick to unload & park my car. We swam. Saw a concert, took a golf cart tour of the golf course. Housekeeping was on it! Extra towels, extra water bottles. We sat around the fire pit kids made s’mores! Will definitely be back! Very close to The John Wayne airport. Picked up my grandkids at the airport.

I have stayed in Hyatt regency in Newport Beach for over 50 days every time I go there I am always grateful to be there. The staff is amazing The rooms are lovely the view is amazing it's a wonderful place to stay in quite unique it's iconic and natural and beautiful and you'll love it.

Gorgeous hotel we came last year for 3 weeks from England and the staff were so attentive, food was amazing and room kept so clean and tidy. It has 3 pools for however you are feeling! gym and outside play areas golf course and bikes plus the grounds are beautiful The location is perfect for visiting all areas and this is all why we have come back this year for another 3 weeks to continue exploring this beautiful place and hotel.

Love the location! Walk across the street to the beach, stay at the pool on location. Either way you are at the ocean. Shopping and dining so close. Bobby is the best! That’s what you call top management! And you can tell he sincerely means everything he does. Great guy.

Very good service at all times during a 3-day stay. Always an abundance of drinks and food. Infused waters were great each day. I slept well. My room was nice. Close to a lot of places and the airport. Wish I could have done more swimming in all 3 pools.

We came here for a short weekend trip and had a great experience. It's very close to Balboa island — we walked there in about 15 minutes to avoid taking the car, and I think they also have a shuttle that'll drop you off at certain times. There are lots of amenities (golf, bike rental, tennis, etc) that we didn't have time to take advantage of this trip, though we did use 2 of the 3 pools on the property (water was a very pleasant 84 degrees). Room was large and comfortable. In short, no complaints! (FYI: there is a parking fee of $27/night)

Stayed here for a few days, while attending a class. I love this place. It's very relaxing and tons to do. They have couple different pools, golf and few other activities to pass the time. They have a nice restaurant with some amazing onion rings! The salads are great too. Staff is friendly and the rooms are roomy and clean. It's what you would expect from a Hyatt. Perfect place for a fun and relaxing getaway.

This post specifically refers to the Summer Concert Series venue at the Hyatt Regency. I attended an amazing show last Friday featuring trumpeter, Chris Botti and his fabulous collection of talented musicians. While the show and the atmosphere were great, the venue itself is incredibly uncomfortable with the worst sight lines I've ever experienced at a concert venue. First, the chairs are so uncomfortable and packed in so tight, that you are practically sitting in the lap of the person next to you. Unless you are in row A, row K, or standing in the back (which we eventually did) you can't see very well and if a tall person sits in front of you, you're screwed. One more note, since it's a very intimate venue, you can hear everything even when the music is being performed. You can hear the conversations going on at the bars or the ones taking place on the other side of the venue. While not the venues fault, be prepared to be irritated by loud, drunken conversations taking place during the show. The lineup is amazing and sitting outside on a lovely summer night in Newport Beach is probably one of the best places in the world to be, however, if there is an act coming to this venue, we'll try and catch them somewhere else in the future unless the seating situation is changed to create more comfort and better views of the stage.

My booking at this hotel was for two nights. My cousin and I have been to several resorts and this is our last stop. We arrived yesterday and were placed in a room at the end of a hallway, right below the stairs and next to the cleaning supply room. The room smelled like mold, the small fridge has a mold stain from the water dripping, and I can’t even sit out in the balcony because my view is a hill and the top of a palm tree. For a room that costs over $200 a night and for a reknown resort like Hyatt, this room and hotel was a complete disappointment, and didn’t get what I expected for what we paid for. I WILL NOT recommend this place to anyone at all. The website and Facebook page paints a complete different picture. For me, my hotel room looks more like a MOTEL and not like a high class hotel operated by Hyatt.

Fantastic place. Service is kind, prompt, and very knowledgeable. Rooms are clean and well-kept. Pools are lovely and clean. I didn't have much time to take advantage of them being on business, but the various recreational amenities, such as golf, bicycling, and more seemed to be a major attraction, and would suit me well were I on vacation. The whole campus is lovely and the features are all quite attractive, however the room itself (in the Balboa building) was fairly boring. This isn't enough to recommend somewhere else above this, though I had expected more for the price I was paying — a little more creativity and style. Perhaps an area for improvement.

I had an enjoyable time here. Virtually all staff and concierge was very helpful. The ambiance throughout in the main court where the restaurant was was good especially at night. The Calamari, food, and drinks were great. They like to charge to your room more than your card and things can get confusing sometimes, so be weary. The fitness center is ok, but not very spacious. There's a good amount of treadmills and some free-weights for you (dumbbells). The pool seems kid friendly with a slide. It's definitely pet friendly which I think is thoughtful. Very pleasant time here. Thanks.

Stayed here a couple different times on business. Quick visits, and always wish I could've stayed longer. Pools look really nice and inviting. The rooms are large and nice. Breakfast was good, if pricy. Look forward to my next visit.

The hotel was very nice and the staff was fantastic. All of the workers were ready and willing to help, which is not the case with some hotels. The rooms are very cozy and the beds are incredibly comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place.

The Hyatt regency had incredible service and was a beautiful hotel. The pools, golf course, and shuffle board were very fun. Also the gym and lobby were very nice. The restaurant’s food was truly excellent. It is a great place to visit and totally worth it. I will come back soon.

I've stayed here a number of times over the years and a few things remain constant: the staff is very friendly, the grounds are well kept and the rooms are TERRIBLY LOUD. On all sides of us this visit, we can hear our neighbors clearly. From casual conversations at 5AM, to loud sex all night long, to families running up and down the hallway early in the morning talking to each other and slamming doors. The property looks as though it may have originally been three separate hotels (including Lido that looks like a motel) that were merged under one brand. Despite having high status with Hyatt, they have yet to place me in a room that impresses. It just seems like fundamentally the hotel was built without insulation or noise considerations at all. It's amazing, given the incredible amount of competitors within one mile, they don't try harder here. Hey Hyatt: white noise machines are VERY cheap and can solve a lot of these problems.

I can here for a marketing event and the staff was supper nice and helpful. We had breakfast and lunch here provided by the hotel and it was delicious. Would definitely love to come back for pleasure.

This place is awesome. They go out of their way to please there guest. The pool is great the staff is great. Housekeeping is a little slow but that’s ok still will be coming back again this summer.

I did not stay in the hotel! I went for a conference (day trip). The grounds are beautiful and the staff was pleasant and helpful. A little coffee bar inside the lobby, pretty standard. Well kept grounds.

I stayed here for a conference. The Hyatt picked us up from the airport, which was nice. Check-in was somewhat slow, but they offered us cookies and water while we waited in line. When I got my room, I had to walk quite a distance (five minutes, maybe? ) to my room. I was not happy with the room location (in the corner, doorway under a stairwell, not much to see out the back), so I walked back and asked for a different room. I had to pay a room upgrade fee to get a second-floor room with a small private balcony and view of the pool area, but they lowered the resort fee, which actually resulted in an overall $2/day savings, so I got a room with a better view for slightly less money :) I did not have a car while there, so I ate a lot at the onsite restaurant. I usually called from my room and then walked to pick up my food, to avoid the delivery charge. The food was kind of expensive, but always good. The conference setup was nice. We were tucked away in a corner with indoor conference room (s) and a covered outdoor area for vendor setup and for breaks. Food was always good, and included breakfast, lunch and snacks. I especially enjoyed the yogurt bar at breakfast :) I didn't have a lot of free time while there, but was able to sit out by the pool on a couple of evenings. I enjoyed lying the hammock poolside and also getting in the hot tub.

Great places to stay in Newport Beach. However the properties rooms are getting a little dated and definitely could benefit from a update. The outdoor space is excellent. They have a nice kids pool with a water slide which is a nice afternoon. They also have a great place to have outdoor parties with a wine room. The lobby and restaurant are both good, of course because they're in the hotel they're very pricey for what you get.

Medium room but beautiful pools.

My partner and I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Newport location. The grounds were very pretty, whoever, the rooms were not Hyatt quality. We have stayed at a few Hyatt hotels and have been happy every time, excluding this one. When we got to the hotel, it was fine. All of the employees were kind and welcoming. When we got to the room, that was not the case at all. There was what looked like vomit stains on the curtain leading to the balcony, red stains on the carpet and our air conditioner didn't work. The furniture was old and had paint chipping and there were cobwebs and water damage, causing the wall paper to peel. It was horrendous for the price we paid and quality we have come to expect with Hyatt. We went for breakfast and tried to leave the self parking area, only to find the exit barrier was not working. We pushed the help button and sat there for nearly 10 minutes and no one came to help. We eventually pulled back and went through another exit that allowed us to leave. When we came back, that same exit that gave us issues was closed but this time, we held our room key to the pad and the actual pad itself came off. I communicated all this to the manager and she switched our rooms but told us the room wouldn't be available until later and that they would call us when it was ready.

The resort is very nice, and we stayed using free nights from World of Hyatt. The room was a bit smaller than we were used to, and because we were using World of Hyatt points and booked at the last minute they had to give us an ADA compliant room (so the bathroom was configured different, with only a very small counter for the sink and no door on the shower), but we still had an enjoyable time. It's minutes from Balboa Island, which is one of my favorite places to visit and the trails around the back bay are awesome.

A nice and nice place, expensive for what it is to me to look but very comfortable.

We had a wonderful time at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach! They have three pools, including a quiet adults only pool that we found incredibly relaxing. The gym is also quite large and modern. We can't wait to come back :)

Better off at motel 6. I've never written a poor review of a hotel because you usually get what you pay for. The pool area was nice but the "hot" tub was mildly warmer than the pool. Parking is $27 per night. The walk to our room was 8 minutes. The beds are small. Everything is extra money. It is directly under the take off path from the airport so you have loud low flying planes every 5 minutes. Don't be fooled by the name "Resort". It's anything but.

Very big with lots of on property amenities. Stylish decor and a classy atmosphere. They have a shuttle to the mall nearby. If you aren't a guest then parking is steep but not outrageous. Overall, very nice hotel.

This hotel is a classy & classic place for travelers of all kinds. The accommodations are clean, fresh, modern & a minimalist dream. Very spacious rooms, spread out on a vast piece of property. The hotel itself has less than ten floors, which means no high towers or long elevator rides. The common areas are have an open feel unlike other hotels that are in a stuffy, enclosed building. Great room service & ammenities!

Excellent hotel, I love the service and the property is beautiful. They have a great fitness center and the pools are great. There is even a waterside on the big pool. There is a little putting green and everything.

We had a nice stay at this hotel, but had a terrible experience with their valet service. You have the option of self park $27 or valet $36 — we valeted. When we got our vehicle back, multiple things had been stolen from our center console and the rest of the contents were tossed on the seat! The valet staff didn't seem at all surprised (or apologetic) and had us fill out a form. Their insurance has now denied our claim because they apparently have a sign posted?
Either the valet staff were stupid enough to steal from their customers, or they left our car unlocked for anyone to rifle through.
The hotel was nice but not worth the hundreds of dollars' worth of items we've lost, not to mention having to worry about these people having our personal information from our registration, etc.
I wouldn't feel safe staying at this hotel again and certainly would never trust them with my car.
(and yes, the items stolen were all car-related items. I shouldn't have to pack up our tablet and mount we use for navigation, or our emergency batteries and jump starters every time we stay in a hotel…)

We came there to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary and these 3 staff members made it very special and memorable. Thanks to all three of you for a job well done!

Although Beach is in the name, this Hyatt property is a good distance from the ocean. Instead its pools make it a nice resort for a family get away or cosy couples weekend. Rooms are nicely updated and ours had a balcony that allowed us to turn off the AC and enjoy the ocean breeze. A shuttle offers a ride to the upscale Fashion island mall just 5 minutes away, but otherwise you'll need a car to get off the property. For corporate functions, it is a good host for off site events.

Overall, this is a very good hotel. We've been staying here for the last 7 years for an annual family vacation and we've had a good experience each year. Is this hotel perfect? No. Is it well above average? Yes. If you want perfect, go spend $600-700/night for the 4-Seasons. If you can tolerate very good, stay here for a fraction of that price. The location and the grounds are what make this hotel. You are close to the beach, shopping, movie theaters, restaurants, and everything else So Cal has to offer. The trail behind the hotel along the 'back bay' provides a great place to get a run or walk in and the gym and pools are clean and well kept. The staff is friendly and try their best to address your needs. We've had a few issues with rooms and noise over the years and they have always been willing to compensate/accommodate. We will continue to stay at the Hyatt for the foreseeable future.

Very nice location in Newport. Rates were pretty reasonable, parking is either self park or valet, self park will require a walk up quite a few stairs so something to keep in mind. I believe the daily rate for self parking was $27. The room we rented for our meeting was very nice and located near the lobby, we had catered food which wasn't bad at all. Plenty of snacks and a large variety of beverages were available as well. Will definitely return to this location in the future.

The service is excellent! Beautiful grounds, wonderful restaurant, gorgeous pools. Dog friendly with extra charge. Clean and comfy. We had a wonderful stay and hope to return. Can get noisy near the family pool where they make you stay if you have a dog. Additional charges for resort fee and parking adds up.

Was a wonderful experience! Rooms were great. Food was good. Bar and drinks were good. Kids enjoyed the many pools and fun stuff to do. Evening by the fire pit was 100! We had my little brothers rehearsal dinner there. Was set up wonderfully. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Everything went smoothly!

The service was great, and the hotel is located next to the lake with a nice view. I recommend the rooms of the Villa. They have a Spanish style with their own kitchen and pool.

The hotel is a resort and has plenty of activities. Several swimming pools and a golf course are part of the activities you can enjoy. The restaurant offers good food and the rooms are spaces. The service is agile and very friendly. The only point to improve is that some rooms are old.

The hotel and surrounding area is beautiful. It is tucked just inside of Back Bay in Newport. I enjoyed a drink with friends in their lounge, the decor was very modern, staff was friendly and service was great. It's a wonderful place to come if you are a local, or just visiting from out of town.

The Hyatt Regency Newport Beach is a beautiful resort overlooking Newport Dunes. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The grounds are well maintained and tastefully decorated. We were served lunch. The food was very good and the couscous was excellent.

The hotel is very well located, well-kept facilities, the bad thing is that you have several charges that are not declared when you make the reservation, resort fee$25.00 daily parking$27.00 daily and dues of the state of California.

Great Hyatt formed by several blocks of rooms in a beautiful garden and directly on the golf course. Pool is not large, but with the presence of a slide with curves, great for kids.
Bike service by which you can reach in 10 minutes the beach at Balboa Beach and the Yacht Club of Newport.
At 1, 5 km from the beautiful Fashion Center, a shopping mall included in a tropical garden with designer shops and pubs, great food court.

We stayed the Bay building. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel interior and exterior was beautiful. My only complaint is having to pay for parking. I'd stay again though.

I went to the hotel for a seminar about brand experience for a automotive manufacturing company. The location and parking was absolutely great. I did not stay in the rooms but the conference rooms were clean, spacious, and we'll equipped for presentations. Overall it was a great experience.

Very friendly and excellent service, great location driving distance from the beach, clean room, and provided many complimentary amenities. Only con was that we were in a non smoking room, but someone was smoking on the room or ground below us and the smell would quickly fill into ours if the window was left open. Or people would smoke those thick cigars in common areas you need to walk through or that I would have liked to enjoy too. It didn't bother me much, but I can see how people with little kids can have an issue. Plus we were gone most of the day anyway. Overall, we had a great one night stay and will definitely be returning to this Hyatt next time we visit the area.

Customer service was great! We were in the Catalina building which seems to be newly renovated. The use and placement of furniture for the large room was lacking. Room service came on a tray instead of the standard rolling table. Campus was nice, beautiful and clean but self parking was a bit far.

Beautiful hotel. Great decor. Staff is very processional. The guests are upper middle class thus a calm and pleasant ambulance.

Extremely convenient location. The free shuttle is great and most things are just a $5 uber rode away. The staff has been very kind and helpful. The grounds are great for wandering and the pools are clean and good for children.

Was shocked to arrive and be told that its $25 A NIGHT to park your own car during your stay. Yes, you pay to stay and have to pay to park. Rooms are decent, drink prices in the lounge are outrageous, no complimentary breakfast. Want a bowl of oatmeal? $5 please. Their saving grace is that staff was very good.

Have been there several times. Parking is easy to access, food is good, but quiche potions tend to be small. Beverage service great. Staff helpful. I would recommend that location to anyone that asked.

I stayed at this hotel for a company event. The rooms were clean and comfy (with a good air conditioner/heater). The bathroom had terrible lighting, though, and it was difficult to get ready in the morning because if it. An hour before checkout, the cleaning staff kept knocking and asking when we were leaving. It was nice, but I hope the company picks a different hotel next time.

Room was cold when we arrived, no hand soap available, really dry air, toilet door slides so it doesn't fully close, bright light motion-sensor enabled that wakes you up when you want to go to the wc in the middle of the night, non-working ac plugs on the desk, Wi-Fi blocks vpn connections. On the plus side the room was big and the counters felt solid. Update: after writing the review a little cockroach moved across the nice counter.

We recently spent 16 days there. The entire staff is the friendliest and most knowledgeable in the business. Every day when we drove out we were ask if we needed directions etc. My only negative comment is I wonder why there aren't towel racks in bathroom to reuse towels. With the water shortages in CA more towel racks should be installed. The location is perfect. Pat PS windows could be cleaned from time to time.

Here for a conference. Very nice hotel with a large facility. Room service is about what you can expect from a hotel of this level. King size room is spacious and comfortable. No complaints about cleanliness so far. Walls are a little thin, can hear people pretty clearly talking in the hallways while they walk by, has been pretty quiet for the most part.

An amazing location, guest service, and accommodations. Highly recommended bot only a one night stay, but at least a few days to also enjoy all that Newport Beach area has to offer. Thank you Hyatt Regency.

Well the Wi-Fi cost money, and the breakfast we ordered was a 2 star breakfast at a 5 star price. We didn't even finish our food. Very dissapointing that we thought we ordered a $30 breakfast and ended up paying $50 for food that they probably picked up from denny's.

Awesome hotel! Great staff, beautiful landscaping and the hotel's restaurant was delicious. 3 pools and hot tubs. Only complaint is the parking situation but valet is always available!

This is truly a resort the grounds are huge with multiple pools water slides an inviting lobby with a fireplace the rooms are fantastic each one with a balcony, sofas large bathrooms you name it Some of the services can be on the pricey side but you are so close to so much shopping and the beach you don't have to rely on the resort for everything.

When my wife and I first arrived we recieved a room in another building. This room was definitely not cleaned well and not worth the price. After speaking with a manager they apologized and gave us a different room. If it wasnt for the manager I would rate this a 1 or 2, but the manager definitely accommodated us and made us happy. Besides the issue with the room, the amenities are awesome at this hotel. I would go back if we dont get shafted on a decent room.

The room is excellent, the service is ok. We had to go down to the lobby twice before they brought our luggage up to our room, but otherwise everything has been great. The room is quiet, good bathroom, great beds, overall I would stay again.

I had a pleasant here. Although I cannot be too extensive about my opinion since I was out most of the time, I enjoyed my time inside. The staff was nice and my room was just what I expected.

I arrived for a two night stay late in the evening and was told that no rooms were available despite a reservation. I was given a cab voucher and told to go to another Hyatt hotel. I also was promised that my night at the other Hyatt would be free. The cab did not accept the voucher, my room at the other Hyatt was not ready, and I ultimately was billed for the night.

TRY NOT TO BE STOLEN! In addition to daily racial discrimination, the hotel charged me twice, that is, rather than pay for 2 nights, paid for 4. It's been a week trying to solve ir and clearly I will not have my money back, as the attendants hang up the phone as I speak or can't or don't want to help. I was literally robbed of more than $ 1, 500 USD! Not recommended, do not ruin your holiday or your stay chosing this hotel. Book a simpler, but honest one.

The rooms are very average, but the real kicker is all of the additional fees you will need to pay. So before you book, ask what the total cost will be. Oh and don't forget, self parking is $25.

My wife loves Newport Beach, and we ended up staying here. The bedroom and bathroom both were cozy and comfortable. This hotel is in a fabulous location, and is close to everything. Highly recommend it.

Okay. Room was adequate. Hyatt is usually better. Staff very friendly.

The best part about this hotel is the lobby and the patio just off it, which has great ambiance because of the fire pit. That's where the goodness ended! The check-in experience was disorganized, slow and directions/guidance on key matters was either non-existent or not very clear. You have 2 options to park: valet for $30/night or self-park for $22/night. But good luck trying to find the self-parking! It's not at all in plain sight and directions were lousy. Even worse was trying to find our room! This hotel is like a campus with a hodge-podge of buildings that do not have elevators (at least not the Bay buildings). So, be prepared to lug your luggage up stairs. For this reason, I highly recommend you use the bell service. While they're doing that, follow them so you can find both self-parking and your room; because valet parking is rip-off, not just in terms of price, but also convenience. There is nothing close by to this hotel, so you'll need to keep getting your car out of valet unless you're staying put. Not that the machines at self-parking were easy to use or convenient. Sandy Tanner's review pretty much nailed it. The buildings are old, but the room was nice enough in appearance and seemed nicely renovated. However, the shower head flew off projectile-style and the "any stream" feature of it was not easy to figure out prior to that fun event.

We love it here! This was our second time we stayed with them. They have a par 3 golf course that we played many times with our family at no charge. They now have a water slide and a small putt put course. The grand kids had a blast. Yes — we will be back! We highly recommend it here.

Just beautiful grounds, despite the current construction, the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach is a resort nestled away from the noise but close enough to various hot spots. Spotless, well designed rooms and decent food service. My only real complaint would be mostly for the low and mid-level staff — and this is true at all the Hyatt's I've stayed at — couldn't they greet their customers with a smile? Maybe a hello? I know it's in the Los Angeles area, but a simply hello and good morning would go miles. That said, we had some troubles and the managers were helpful and quick to correct them without pomp or arrogance. The wonderful main pool and water-slide made it all better. Special thanks to Roy.

Nice hotel with clean, well designed rooms. The hotel bar is nice too and converts into a coffee stop in the mornings, which is neat. The pool is large and there is a hot tub. My one issue is that some of the rooms are quite a long walk from the front desk which, when you are exhausted and carrying many bags, can feel like a serious haul. But that is minor. Overall, nice place.

Stellar bar staff. As a business traveler I have hit my fair share or hotels and I must say the Jeff and Todd run a great bar. Excellent service, great food. Proximity to my work is definitely walkable. Truly a pleasure while I stayed.
