The hotel was incredibly expensive despite being of rather low quality; it reminded me more of a motel than anything else. Despite it being nice and cool outside, our room was 90 degrees fahrenheit because of an overactive heater that they could not turn off, as it runs through the whole facility.

Hotel could use a refresher. Friendly staff but honestly, the place is very run down. Beds small, uncomfortable, bathroom worn, and room smelled like smoke. Staff accommodated us to similar room without smoke smell in basement but just couldn't stay a second night.

It sucks, honestly. But the restaurant is normal.

The room I stayed in was way to hot! Like 90! The thermostat did Not work! I told the front desk but nothing was done. There answer was a fan and open a window! This place not so good.

It was a clean and delightful experience. The staff were attentive and polite. My only complaint would be price.

Mountain Sky is a below average hotel. While the bed is comfortable the overall cleanliness of the place is poor. The facility is very dated and starting to fall apart. If your looking a place to lay your head for a night or two it will work. If your looking for a quality place as part of a vacation or a place your wife will consider decent find another place to stay.

A centrally located hotel, with plenty of parking. The hotel has a large dining room with good food. The rooms are what you'd expect from 2 or 3 star hotel. My room was clean and basic, as this is a no frills hotel. It's a short walking distance from the Valdez marina.

I ate an omelet and my dad had the biscuits and gravy. The food wasn't bad, and the people were nice enough but there was nothing great. I had to ask for a refill of just water multiple times, took 15 minutes to get a server to us, just not really right for a restaurant. People were nice like I said, but doesn't make up for everything else.

Let me say first, the front desk girls are awesome, no problems there, that being said… This should be all means NOT be your first choice of stay when visiting Valdez. I was put up here for a few weeks during work and had multiple issues. The first was the room cleaning, they did an OK job but would forget to empty trash, leave new towels, shampoo, tissue paper, change light bulbs. There were many instances where I had to go ask for supplies that should have been restocked from the beginning. Not to mention even when I did have the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on the door they would knock. Even the shower makes a GOD AWFUL loud pitched whining noise when taking a shower, IF there's enough hot water. Next was the laundry, for a wash and dry you're going to spend $6.50 for old sub-par washing and drying machines that are in the basement level of the establishment. Let's talk about receiving mail… IF and that's IF they decide to go check their PO box (which is the only way to get mail in Valdez) you have a roll of the dice if you're contacted. First time I had mail sent here they called my room and all was good. Next time I had to go pester the owner and finally he took me out to his van where he had the packages still sitting in the front seat from who knows how long. Then the third time, which was a Saturday and the Post Office closes at noon, I ask if he had been to check mail. I knew I had items waiting due to Amazon alerting me, and he said he didn't go today.

Horrible. Bad springy bed. Super hot room. Sand paper towels. Over priced. Told check in was 12 and wouldnt let us in until 3. No swimming pool or breakfast.

For a mom and pop hotel, great stay. Great customer service. Food is excellent. Definitely will come back whenever I come back to Valdez.

My family and I stopped at the Valdez Bistro located in the Mountain Sky Hotel & Suites for a late breakfast. Everyone was so kind, friendly, and helpful! The food was good and was wait was short! We will be going back on our next visit!

Easy to get to anywhere in Valdez, adequate nice clean rooms. Coffee and ice water always in lobby. THE BEST surprise was the OUTSTANDING food in their small restaurant! The owner is the chef, and everything we ordered was delicious and perfect, some with his Korean flair. Has a bar also.

This hotel advertises a swimming pool, which they have not had since 2008. Also advertised is continental breakfast which they do not offer. We arrived with one in our party who was in a wheelchair and they gave us a room upstairs. But they do not have an elevator, we were moved to a room on the ground floor and were told it had 2 queen beds only to find out they were full size beds. We will not be staying there again.

Great service, bed was a little too soft and the room was stuffy, but nothing an open window couldn't fix.

Everything was fine til the last minute. The guy who suppose to drop us at the airport (shuttle) ; making a big deal of us leaving early. He have no idea that flights can change or there could be tons of people at checkpoints.

Steps the aesthetics but yellow patches and blood on the sheets do not agree.
