Unexpected last minute travel plans to Homer left us with few lodging options. With already low expectations, we booked two nights at this “lodge” but it fell far below what we could’ve imagined. Didn’t care for anything about this place. The one positive was that the room and bath were clean. •Narrow “studio” is as basic as a college dorm room, maybe even less so.
*Outside Grounds: Very sketchy. Junk, miscellaneous vehicles and construction debris around the whole building. Ugly appearance and dangerous.
*Staff: Missing? Arrived at the same time as another couple, but no staff to be found. Contractor working at the property located someone cleaning rooms who was surprised no one was in the office. She showed us to the office and we saw our names next to our assigned rooms on a big whiteboard. Two other times went to the office but found no one.
*Beds: Mattresses on homemade bed frames. Very uncomfortable; both of us slept poorly.
*Pillows: They’re new, but too thick and firm. Hurt my neck.
*No storage or place to hang clothes—just two hooks outside bathroom.
*One small table with a normal height chair and a tall bar stool, so only one person could sit at the table.
*“Creative” plumbing in the so-called “micro kitchen. ” While this property is in the process of being updated, accommodations are clearly intended for people needing only some sort of bed and a toilet after spending a long day fishing or doing other outdoor activities.
