Good service from restaurant and your rooms are clean.

We went their for our 10yr Anniversary and will definitely b back. The staff is very friendly. Service is absolutely good. And food, both dinner and breakfast buffet was out of the world. Big variety and delicious. We had cocktails at the bar which was very nice. The rooms are beautiful and nice and big. Warren & Hannah.

The food was lovely but the dessert options were not that great for the kind of restaurant and price paid. Please do add better options and vanilla ice cream, the lunch buffet time is also very less time given, I felt rushed to eat and I paid R4000.00 for literally 2 hours. It was my sister's 40th birthday and I opted for Coastlands to impress her instead of BillyG which is R100 less per person and the birthday person eats for free on their special day but I didn't bother about their cheaper price or bday offer and still opted for Coastlands, the staff is very friendly though.

Very luxurious rooms. Good front desk service. Only issue is that checkout is at 11am yet housekeeping start rattling at your door from 9h00 which was very annoying. Some guests were also very noisy. Overall a nice place to stay.

Convenient okay to sleep in n out clean front desk very helpful just one room had to pay 60bucks for a parking ticket was not happy about thatotherwise all greatthank 😊

The food is tasteless, not much variety, no covid protocols in place, everyone dishing up from same spoons, no hand sanitizer at the tables, people walking around with no masks no social distance of the tables seatings 0/10 for taste of food.

The worst hotel if ever experienced they don't care about their guests I made a booking yesterday and thought it was for today they didnt give me my money is gone there is nothing I can do I booked again for today and thought il give them a chance its like we never booked and paid and not use they services they have a kak TV the reception have a attitude and they didn't allow us to even check in earlier after what have happened they couldn't even have a good understanding nevermind the Wi-Fi the worst if ever experienced if you go to this hotel you will throw your money away be careful.

Friendly staff, but the rooms are not what you see online. I booked for a family room. Promised two single beds and double bed. When I got there I got two single beds and a combined two single beds to make a double bed and the beds were old I could hear springs.

I stayed at Coastlands Umhlanga Hotel a fortnight ago for 5 days. From welcome to check out in between restaurant and bar experience, everything has been so perfect. Good value for money hotel.

My husband and I went for our anniversary too coastlands and I must say we had the most pleasant and sweetest waiter there. Thobani I hope u see this but u really made our night memorable with ur personality thank u so much.

Every thing about this hotel is great VIEWS / GOOD FOOD.

The venue is beautiful… however the food was terrible, disappointed is an understatement. We booked the african sky and paid an additional R16000 just for venue as it was the 1 on the top floor and it was a sunday, excluding our pp charge. We did so with no complain, I then asked again and again that the food be good as indian weddings are all about the food… the food wasnt even worth 1/10. We wer given feta cheese instead of paneer. They ran out of roti, the staff couldnt handle 2 buffet station hence had to close 1, the dessert was below average and we the bridal couple had left overs when we wer told that we will have it served to us when we get back. We only had rice, shall n potato. Absolutely pathetic. We were asked to leave at 9:30pm when our contract clearly said 00:00 (midnight) … will never recomend or use this hotel group ever again.

Great customer service! Reception staff are friendly and polite and the evening staff at the restaurant were extremely accomadating and helpful with our baby.

Oh wow, couldn't wait to go home. The rooms are nice yes and the hotel has some sense of security. But most of the staff including front desk have no sense of hospitality whatsoever. Would I recomend or come? most unlikely.

Rooms are great, but supper service is far from accommodating. The breakfast team is amazing and the hotel may consider getting that team to train up the late shift guys.

Breakfast was not that great, rooms and building laked maintenance. Great location would have liked a better sea view.

Friendly service from the staff. Request a room away from the elevator between 7 and 8 floor, corner rooms have very nice views. Breakfast is halal buffet and very good.

I'm never disappointed when I dine here. Excellent food and service. Definitely my favourite place. Simply the best.

Coastlands. What a let down. An expensive stay with embarrassing service. The breakfast was as a good as any fast food restaurants, nothing fancy or impressive. The room was average. The service was below average. Embarrassing encounter with cleaning staff. Left feeling quite relieved that the stay was over!

It is missing atmosphere and charm. Building is not even contemporary nor eye pleasing. Imagestudio and Harley Davidson are high end shops, very recommended.

Great conference facility and lovely variety for lunch.

My husband and I are checking out today and honestly cannot wait to leave. The staff are unfriendly and find it very difficult to even lift their head to acknowledge you waking past, you barely get any sort of greeting from them, they do not make you feel welcome AT ALL! No stocking of mini bar fridges, not even a bottle of water in the room but they want to charge you R30 for "tray use" when you order room service, so a toasted cheese with a can will cost you close to R200, and nothing can be signed to your room, everything needs to be paid for on the spot (frustrating and a huge inconvenience) the hotel needs an upgrade and a serious clean, including the area where your eggs are prepared, so greasy I almost died! We will most certainly not be coming back!

Attended a function on 11 May. The PRO of the company that hired the venue did a superb job in accommadating their guests etc. The hotel staff of the establishment were brilliant. Attentive, polite and delivered excellent service.

On observation the entrance of the hotel, foyer, and lifts need an urgent upgrade in every way. The food was like okay… nothing to rave about because by the time one got to the dessert your taste buds were numb with pre packaged food.
Every dessert was out of a box which definitely has a plastic taste and the charge for this dinner was R500 p. P.!
To stay at this hotel cannot risk it after reading the posted comments.

Great hotel, clean, excellent breakfast… but what stood out was a elderly gentleman named Stanley Chetty, made us feel like we royalty… excellent 5 star service from this staff member.

Wonderful ambiance, excellent service, was a but dissapointed that the full buffet wasnt available on weekdays.

Good location for the person looking to work and play in and around Umhlanga. Easy access to everything you need to do and explore in the north of Durban.

There is something I fail to understand, maybe too backward, I visited the restaurant only to be told that we can only sit at bar. Can you explain exactly the connection between restaurant and the bar? Oh please I need to know. I am worried because I am still left with 4 days. Weird.

Lovely venue to host conferences, events and weddings etc. Great pool area and deck. Has a great buffet spread as well (highly recommended). Location is just a 5 minutes walk from Palm Boulevard and Gateway Shopping Centre. Near Chris Saunders Park as well. Rooms are modern and upscale. Convenient from business travellers as its just a 10 — 15 minutes drive from King Shaka International Airport.

My frnd invited us to celebrate her wedding dinner here. The food was amazing from the starters to dessert. N it was a bufffet but they had all types of food you can think of to choose from the variety was just on point. The service was also amazing n the hotel vibe was nice n calm n the place was clean… But must have money for parking ticket but its reasonable considering we got there at 7 stayed till around 11 only paid R20.

Modern and clean accommodation. The hotel is located in the heart of Umhlanga close to Gateway. The breakfast was absolutely awesome! Beach was two minute drive from the hotel.

One of my favourite hotels. Best view in Umhlanga. Lovely breakfasts. Also attended a catered wedding on the top floor and it was wonderful. Amazing food. Excellent venue. Nearly 270 degree view. Great service. Nice pool. Gym. Restaurant, bar and coffee shop. Always a pleasure to visit.

Loved the breakfast, catering halaal meals made the stay much more enjoyable. Rooms are neat with excellent views of the ocean. Based close to all amenities, it's easy to feel at home when you're away from home. Conference rooms serve as great reception areas for weddings. Caterers have set a very high standard with their service and taste.

The hotel is beautiful and service is amazing. Only the restaurant has some weird rules such as sitting outside if you buying form a la carte and the hotel has no good view. Other than that, a great hotel.

Celebrated my Dad's 70th birthday at the restaurant. The service was exceptional (and I am horrifically fussy). The food was outstanding. Absolutely delicious. Every single waitron even if they were not assigned to our table was attentive to help. The music on the piano was so lovely. There is too much to mention on how special they made our evening. Will DEFINITELY be back and highly recommend them.

Stayed twice, unreal hotel must must go if your thinking about it. Breakfast with Stanley’s service is unbeatable. Siyabonga is a top guy as well, ask him anything and he will provide!

This is a fancy hotel. Great rooms good service. Amazing attire, and really good buffet serving spicy Durban cuisine.

Great buffet seafood was well cooked. Good range of veggies. Nice to see eggless desserts available. It would be good if roti was available with the curries instead of just rice. Parking is validated so that is a good perk.

We had a two day conference with 250 staff. Everything went smoothly, the toilets were always spotless and the food was fantastic.

This is our third stay at this hotel and an old waiter (Stanley) served us at breakfast this morning. His attention to detail and service was overwhelming. The other staff were also friendly and helpful. Thank you and keep it up.

Love that the vanilla bar serves the most divine meals right until 2am… My view one of the best places to go to after midnight in Durban /Umhlanga. It's safe and the food is consistently good.

Solid generally, but fast service is not their priority. At breakfast, it was difficult to find a seat — not because the dining room is small, it's actually quite large — but because the staff didn't seem to ever clear off any of the tables after someone left. If you asked for them to clean a table for you, they clean off just one seat at the table, leaving the other seats at that table covered by dirty dishes. Took 20 or so minutes each morning to get coffee at breakfast. Housekeeping came into my room at around 7pm while I was out for dinner, even though I had my "Do Not Disturb" sign out, and rearranged a lot of my things — such as dumping all of my clothes that were hung about the room (on chair backs and the like) into my luggage and closing and moving my laptop, which was downloading a large-ish file I needed. They also turned off a power outlet where my things were charging for morning meetings and the trip home the next day. Otherwise, the views are nice and the beds are comfy.

The most pathetic service I have ever experienced! I have been trying to make a reservation at the restuarant from Thursday morning, the lady answered and assured me that there was availability, so I tried calling back 5min later just to confirm the amount of people and continued to try and contact them the entire day after that and there was no answer at all from the restaurant. Today I tried calling many times again only for them to get back to me now saying that they are fully booked. Coastlands Umhlanga what a joke! Please hire some professional people or someone that can atleast answer the phone!
