Absolutely Gorgeous, incredibly welcoming Staff and Super family friendly. The cleanliness is out of this world.

1. Facilities have deteriorated 2. Beds need replacing 3. Furniture old and damaged 4. Couches smelly and stained 5. Rooms are full of flies 6. Toilets are run down 7. Poor water pressure 8. Toilets stained and damaged 9. Toilets take ages to fill up 10. Has to be flushed several times 11. Bed linen stained 12. Only top sheets changed 13. Insects dead at bottom sheet 14. Carpets dirty and stained and grimy 15. Buffet menu very limited 16. Don't cater adequately for non beef or non pork eating guests 17. Service delivery sub standard 18. Waited for more than 2 hours for simple pizza and burgers placed at the pool 19. Pool staff placed the burden of tracking down our order on us 20. Maintenance staff called to remove bats from the room. No one showed up and had to remove on our own. 21. Unfortunately SOPs not followed thru and management only got involved when it was too late. 22. Case of top to middle management not having a handle on what is happening at the customer interface.

They provide Good hospitality services.

My family and I love the hikes and the breathtaking mountains views, not forgetting the waterfalls and sometimes seeing the deers at night. It’s absolutely beautiful 🫶

Great family getaway. Units are a bit dated but very comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly but expect a wait when ordering food at the restaurants.

The friendly staff at this resort;From the security guard at the gate to the housekeepers. I am truly impressed with the overall service. The resort is well maintained and has great facilities. Will definitely visit again.

Had a good time there with my family. We went to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday there, and he really enjoyed the stay there, in fact we all did😊 The staff was super cool, met all our special requests with no hesitance. Loved it👌🏽 The guided 🏔🥾hike was the highlight of our stay there, thats how much we love nature😍

This place was simply amazing. But do remember to carry a fan along in the summer as it gets extremely hot. All the activities were deposit based so in other words free… which was amazing. Loved AH.

A lovely scenic retreat at the foot of rolling hills and majestic mountains. Endless fun had with all the amenities and activities in the resort. Great Wi-Fi and 4G signal all round. Just splendid! Highly recommended for all.

I came here for lunch yesterday food was delicious staff was friendly and I forgot my sling bag with a bank card and money when I came back to look for it it was ther with everything inside.

Beautiful resort, with amazing views. However, if it's 4 star rated, why are there no aircons in any of the units? Found the cleaning service very lazy and unhelpful, the rooms and bathrooms are definitely not up to a 4 star rating in terms of cleanliness.

We loved the few days we spent here. The beautiful guided hikes every morning, all the activities you can do at the resort, friendly helpful staff who are always smiling and my favourite was how kid friendly and kid centered this resort it.

Amazing kids entertainment, invaluable views. I love that the trails are all different and have views for years! The serenity and tranquility is unparalleled.

The views and walks are spectacular and are matched by the incredible hospitality and amazing food. Nothing is too much for the staff at this resort. We had a 5 day conference with 140 people and they excelled every day and every night! Simply exceptional! Hope to be back soon. It's ideal for conferences and family holidays.

It was an exceptional awesome relaxing & rejuvenating. We were pampered with foot massage (Nerissa & I) while relaxing at the pool. The kids loved swimming & played soccer. Alpine Heath Resort it's he place to be in. This is our 3rd visit to this awesome place.

Die Alpine Heath Oord is 'n uiters aangename wegkomplek. Wonderlike uitleg en baie mooi chalets met al die nodige gebruiksartikels in uitstekende toestand. Pragtige dienste sentrum met goeie en vriendelike personeel en wat die restourant betref — — beter pizzas sal jy nie sommer elders kry nie! Ons enigste "klagte" was dat die plek so stil is in die middel van die week. Die bestuur kan gerus die midweek tydgleuf teen spesiale afslag meer en wyer adverteer. Die Alpine Heath Oord is die ideale basis om die ander wonderlike plekke in die Bergreeks verder te verken.

Very Lovely self catering resort. All you need is found within the resort gates. Once you arrive, there is no need to leave until you check out. There are a large number of activities to entertain everyone, young and old. From Putt Putt to disco nights. Everyone will find something entertaining to participate in.

Went to Alpine Heath in March 2018. The last time I had a holiday here was in 1996 — 22 years back! Went for a team building and conference event with my colleagues and it was simply amazing. Loved the buffet, friendly staff and facilities. All so befitting with the beauty of the Berg itself.

The reception was great. But the quality and variety of their meals leaves a lot to be desired… not much of a variety especially for vegetarians. Staff are friendly. Housekeeping was acceptable.

Great spot for kids. Lots of activities for them giving you a chance to rest and chill. Fairly basic but neat and comfy accomodation. Wonderful view. Definitely worth a visit.

Visited Alpine Heath Resort on the 13th of July and it was worth the wait worth the money I am definitely going again. The staff, the food the activities. The houses are to die for. The view just took my breath away. This would be my 1st recommendation.

Aha alpine heath resort is a place that is truly peaceful and scenic. There are guided trails or you can go on your own. The view the food is amazing. There's entertainment for kiddies and adults. During the day there are so many activities to keep you busy. You will never be bored if you go to alpine heath.

The resort is a lovely getaway from the everyday hustle of the city. Although the road just before the resort is a bumpy one, the drive fast becomes worth it when you get there. The staff are ever so friendly and welcome you with a warm smile. The chalets are located all over the resort and have more than enough space for group bookings. They provide an array of activities which cater for all sorts of people. If the on-site activities aren't enough, there is an outdoor adventures business 10 minutes away. All-in-all a great spot for peace of mind away from the city.

A beautiful place with awesome staff. I enjoyed the programme for the days that's planned. I love it and have been there 3 times already and will definitely be back. The views are also great.

Alpine Heath has got majestic mountains. The place is calm and warm at the same time. It make a perfect place for couples, family retreats and work events. If I could, I would re-visit the place.

Quaint and located in a beautiful setting, Alpine Heath was the great family getaway. With several hiking trails and other activities it made for a wonderful week. The food abd menu range could be improved but overall wonderful.

Beautiful resort for a quiet and peaceful retreat from the everyday world. The units are generally up to standard and if you find yourself in the rare case where there's an issue with your accomodation (wet paint in my case) they will simply move you to another unit. The bedrooms and bathrooms make you feel as if you're at home. Beware if the ants though, I lost a cupcake to them because I left it out in a cardboard box on the kitchen counter… there were thousands of them feasting there by the next morning.

Alphine health is really a fantastic place to get away. Situated in the middle of the mountains is what makes it so beautiful. Being able to hike to part of the Tugela falls makes it so special. Definitely a place to visit if you have not already.

Rooms look a lot better after the Reno. There are still some areas the need maintenance and TLC.
Staff are very friendly, especially kids club staff. Kids area needs to be revamped too.
Restaurant also needs some serious attention though. Food takes over an hour and they are out of stock of so many items over a busy long weekend and no one knows what is going on.

Great resort but they need to work on their laundry. Some days we were given towels with stains on them. Overall, we loved the set up. The walk to reception and other facilities from our chalet was not far and easily accessible. There was lots to do for kids and the resort had kids activities set up daily. There are good hiking trails which start on the resort. The resort also has beautiful horses and offers horse riding for kids and adults.

Love this place. Love the fact that they have a kids lounge, and activities the whole Day! Relaxing, beautiful it totally feels like your own piece of paradise. Will defnitely return.

Great outdoors and tranquillity for an escape. Great team and an amazing manager who takes personal attention to guests needs. Loved the place and will certainly go back. Not sure about the age if the mattress I slept on though but the place was spotless.

We have been making annual visits to Alpine Heath for years now, and we all continue to love it! The organised activities are great for the whole family, and the scenery is spectacular! The units are both well-appointed and well-kept. The trails in the resort are excellent and the close proximity to the Royal Natal National Park is fantastic…

Great place, lovely scenery. My children had a fantastic time and was well looked after for the duration of our stay. There is a full day program for the children with activities to keep them busy and entertained and better yet, it gives Mommy and Daddy a breather. Safe for the little ones to move freely to and from chalets. Chalets are well equipped and very comfortable, you will feel right at home. A perfect family getaway!

Beautiful resort with lots of gorgeous scenery and amenities. Squash courts, tennis courts, etc. Very chalets. Super friendly and helpful staff. Just 1 thing I would have really appreciated was an air conditioner. At least one!

One of the nicer places to stay in the berg, a great place to lay back and relax. Only downsize is that the walking trails are pretty disappointing. The longest one is listed as being 2, 5 hours, and my group completed it in less than half that time, and some of us aren't in the best shape. I'd recommend this place if you want to spend a weekend relaxing, but if you're looking for an outdoors experience maybe look elsewhere.

Excellent place for a family adventure. Lots of fun filled activities for the entire family. Horse riding, pools, sport areas, and loads more. Very long drive but worth the wait.

I thoroughly enjoyed my brief stay here. The resort offers a whole day's worth of entertainment for kids of varying ages. Enjoy some breathtaking walks for all skill and fitness levels. The weather can change in a few minutes so be prepared. The chalets are comfortable but could do with a deepclean and maintenance. The staff all round ate exceptional. I would highly recommend this resort.

It’s a pity I can’t rate the staff separately because I would give them 5 stars for their service and friendliness. We were however disappointed by the upkeep of this ‘4 star’ resort. Our room had broken taps and tiles, holes in the carpets and curtains, soft mattresses and pillows and a leaking fridge just to name a few.
For the price we paid this was not up to standard. The breakfast was average. However, dinner was not good at all. There were many dishes unavailable and when we finally got our meals they were lovelessly made. We decided to not eat there again. Better training of the kitchen staff, upgrade to the rooms would make this a wonderful place to stay. Otherwise, the scenery, facilities, activities and staff made our stay memorable.

Well taken care of. Clean and neat. All equipment to make your self catering stay comfortable provided for. Excellent views all around of the beautiful Drakensberg mountains. Sorrounded by places offering all kinds of outdoor activities.

Average place. Comfortable, GOOD breakfast. Very helpful and accommodating staff. Lots of cockroaches in chalets and ant infested.

Great place for the young and old. Lots of activities and the most breathtakingly beautiful surroundings. Horse riding up the mountains is a must. Fantastic staff who are always willing to help.

Beautiful location. So much to do and there's so much entertainment for children. Staff are friendly and go the extra mile for guests.

Lots to do for the family. Great location in the mountains. Cosy, if not slightly small accommodation.

Second visit to Alpine. Views are incredible and completely isolated from the world. Checking in was fast and efficient. Room was neat and clean when we arrived and room service does a good job keeping it clean. A three to four day stay is recommended to fully relax. In comparison to one or two other resorts in the area, definitely the recommended. Will be back in April 2017.

Great stay with extremely friendly staff. Great place to take the kids and food is lovely. Though not a complaint, I think someone could have designed the patios better, they are useless for a place with such beautiful views and needed to be a bit bigger. I would suggest management takes a good hard look at the furniture in the bar area, it was rather dirty and aged especially upstairs.

It was our first experience at Alpine Heath Resort. A very warm welcome at the gates, warm, friendly and efficient staff, great pizza, the scenery is breathtaking and the spa treatment was excellent. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

The only reason I have given 1 star is because of the friendly staff. I would give more, but it would skew my review. When my friend of 77 from London and I arrived after the long journey by plane and car to Alpine Heath Resort, we we checked into our chalet that had not been cleaned by 4pm. It was filthy, smelly with food lying around and quite disgusting. Clearly how the guests had left it, but it had not been cleaned. We had to change our chalet. During the course of our stay, my friend slipped in the kids pool when stepping in. The floor of the pool is angled and extremely slippery. He broke a rib. Within 10 minutes another guest also slipped in, hurting his hand and had his mobile in his pocket. We reported this to reception and were responded with a smile and a very vague apology. We insisted this be carried to those in charge. It clearly was not. My friend had to see the doctor on his return to Cape Town. All medical documentation together with the story of what happened was sent to Alpine Heath, 3 times at three different email addresses, with not a word of response. The mails were totally ignored. Not even a vague apology or a mail to say that this slippery pool will be attended to. This has all left a bad taste in both of our mouths and would certainly not be returning to Alpine Heath. I warn all families that the pool is very slippery and very dangerous. I would certainly be very wary of taking children there. If anything happens, Alpine Heath does not care.

We have been to Alpine Heath before, but I must say I was a bit disappointed this time. My reservation service was terrible, but I eventually got someone to respond. We arrived in the rain and had to run to reception without cover, so we were drenched at the reception trying to book in. We went to dinner — the food was ok but the service awful. I think the management don't understand what hospitality means at all. I was also not able to sleep the entire weekend, as the resort has the lumpiest, most uncomfortable pillows and duvets available. No sleep meant no relaxation. I've spent Monday recovering from my weekend at Alpine Heath. Maintenance on the chalet was shoddy. One or two staff members really stood out, but no cigar. I also didn't enjoy the constant disco music blaring from morning till night. Unless you are going to the mountains to drink and party 24/7, I wouldn't recommend this resort.
