People always complain but give them a chance… I had no issues… only came here to experience nature. Hotel accomodation was great as well as the food.

Was looking forward to our stay here and had booked long in advance. Arrived to find that they were having power outages. Allocated a unit with a gas stove but the oven didn't work. We were moved to a better unit. But this unit was at the very bottom of the property and far from the main buildings and felt a bit alone, considering the pitch blackness with out electricity. Was not supplied with matches or candles. Generator was switched on for 4 hours at night and 4 hours in the morning, but we were not advised what those hours were. After complaining, we were offered a free breakfast on the morning we checked out.

Truly a wonderful setting at the foothills of the legendary Drakensberg Amphitheater. The hotel is warm and friendly with spectacular views of the Northern Drakensberg. There are some beautiful hiking and trail running trails which I thoroughly enjoyed. I hiked up to the top of the nearest hill and came across some roaming Eland at the top. The view took my breath away. The hotel food is good and the rooms well kept.

This place was lovely. We enjoyed the view, the fresh Drakensburg air. Breakfast and supper was divine. The rooms were comfortable. We were sad to leave such a nice place. Will come back! It was very peaceful.

Did not stay there but went for a drink. The parking for day visitors wss shanby with long grass andv weeds. Did not give a good first impression but the view is fantastic and service was good. Spoke to the manager and he advised that they were doing renovations.

It was dirty. The pool was green. The mini golf course was in a terribly state. Half the wood barriers were rotten and broken and not in place so half the holes where not playable. There were flies everywhere and at breakfast we had to wave our hands to chase the flies from our food and table. I was so unimpressed with the venue I moved out the next morning. I had to ask for towels for the room three times and when I eventually saw a chamber maid I got a damp towel and my neighbor got a towel with a brown stain on it. The breakfast was mediocre at best. We met people in a big group that were vegetarians and they had requested vegetarian dishes and they were extremely disappointed as well with the food and suggested we do not take dinner at the resort so we went to a pizza place down the road that was very nice. I would definitely not recommend staying there.

Wonderful places… I recommend.

Pros: Good location, excellent service, close to main hiking trails and attractions. Staff very obliging. Very clean and property is well maintained. Rooms refurbished and spacious Food quality good but variety somewhat limited Cons: Lacked an entertainment programme over the Easter weekend. Rooms didnt have a bar fridge bathroom showers need to be better enclosed.

Beautiful place, I'd go back anytime. People are friendly and helpful. Tranquil and serine. I'd go back to get away from the hassle and bustle of Johannesburg.

Amazing view if weather is good. Friendly staff. No hand towels. Nothing to do if weather is bad.

Been a nightmarish experience, coming in here. Firstly the front office staff serves us no information about the breakfast timing and other details. We carry our two bags (with absolutely no assistance) from the parking lot. The key fails us and we are stranded outside. It's been three times since they have checked on getting us into the room and now we are informed that we need to change our room. We can't find their Manager around and feeing completely let down by the Orion group of hotels here. I will definitely recommended a NO on this place. It can really dampen the goodness Drakensberg has to offer.

Sad to see such a great spot be allowed to deteriorate so badly. Rooms filthy, gardens overgrown and staff not quite sure what they should be doing…

The service and condition of this hotel has deteriorated. This is a repeat visit and we are placed in an old chalet with broken doors, lights not working and old uncomfortable beds. They have only refurbished half of the self catering units and charge the same price for the run down units that are not of a standard to be rented out. The pool is also green in the middle of the summer holidays so swimming is not even possible. Management does not care about the state of their resort and is indifferent to any complaints I would not recommendthis resort until they improve to their previous standards.

Upon booking this hotel, I honestly thought we were in for a treat! I booked two chalets with my family to cut our Durban trip, back to JHB, in half. I am so so so disappointed in this venue. There are such amazing views in this beautiful area. The service is shocking! Wendy works really hard and puts her best effort into her job, but seriously lacks the basic training to ensure the best possible service. Senior managers arrived in the breakfast area and dominated the area. The one manager even showed up in casual clothing, walking around the venue talking very loudly. Telling his other coworkers how tired he is, but also notifying most of the restaurant. The rooms are very well designed and show off the immaculate beauty of the Drakensburg. I am not sure if they are entirely clean. I feel the rooms could be a bit cleaner. We checked in slightly early so we decided to go for lunch on the terrace. The staff only told us after lunch that the one room hadn't been cleaned because there were still guests checked into it. I feel with a more hands-on approach from management that this establishment could exceed its potential. Regards Damian Jardine.

Very nice and comfortable rooms as long as the big frogs around the pond does not disturb you (maybe only a problem in the early summer). Excellent location if you want to do some trekking or other outdoor activities in the area. Nice views of the landscape and Drakensberg in the background. The restaurant is OK but could be improved as the food was a bit unimaginative.

We're having an awesome stay in the hotel. Friendly, personal service. Tons of hikes nearby and the best views in the Drakensberg.

Great chalets. Friendly staff. The place doesn't offer much to do though so you'll have to get your entertainment from other sites nearby. This place is great if you just need to get away from home to read a book and enjoy fresh air.

The deluxe room is good but the standard room are ok. There are hiking trails. View from deluxe room is good. Restaurant, bar facilities are there. Most of the game in kiddies play room doesn't work. Had a bad experience where there was a bug on the bed and they just said sorry.

Stayed in upgraded chalet, beautiful views and furnishings, ask for the lower chalets. Checking in slow, but otherwise great views and great pool. Lovely spot.

The hotel was nice and I enjoyed being there but the activities around the area were very expensive.

Great location and awesome views of the Berg. The staff was friendly. The cleanliness of the rooms is a concern. We were a group of 6 and we all observed the same cleanliness issues. The room access cards had to be programmed daily and we were only informed after so much frustration trying to open to the rooms and had to walk all the way back to the reception to have the problem sorted. Management to sort out all these small issues which can end up chasing customers away.

Standard has dropped since our last visit. Food variety is poor… lots of stuff are out of stock and not available like jam, syrup for flap jacks, milo, hot chocolate… When asked to see the manager. She hides in the office. Staff are great. Place not managed well.

A new look after being revamped the Mont Aux aux Sources Hotel has one of the greatest view of the Drakensberg range closer to the royal natal park where you have lots of activities to choose from namely hiking biking or fishing with the astonishing view a great place to bring family or friends along amazing staff…

Beautiful views of the Amphitheater mountain range in the Northern Drakensberg. The food was amazing and the hotel is very child friendly with lots of amenities like hiking etc to do in the area.

The hotel was overall good — however some services were not very timely, namely the cleaning services (they may only get to your room at around 3pm which is unusual in my book — usually 12 is expected, and they never picked up our dishes outside our room from room service for 2 days). The manager and receptionist were very welcoming and responsive — always asking if things are ok. Other than that the rooms are quaint — clean — which water saving in mind — has a big screen low res TV — just read a book :) or bring a laptop if you really keen on watching other things rather than beautiful scenery. Breakfast was included with our package but other meals need to be paid for — lunch is run like a restaurant — breakfast and dinner buffet style — food was good but don't expect super healthy options — there's fruit, salads etc The view is stunning! There are many things to do nearby, there's a pool, games room, playgrounds, tennis court, giant (worn) chess and putt putt. There are baboons nearby so be aware and close doors/windows when you're not outside. Overall good place for a small budget.

Great location just 4km away from Royal Natal Park. Friendly staff. Neat garden. Great food. Neat room. Cosy lounge and fireplace for cold days.

Unnessarily overpriced for the tattered 80s styled chalet interiors. No side curtains for privacy. And a buffet not worth the garbage bags it's thrown away in. We did not have a good experience, other than the view.

0 RATING! just been there from 25/12/2015 to 01/01/2016 which I did not stay long. WELL AS YOU READ THE REVIEWS ARE OLD ONES MONTHS OR EVEN YEARS AGO WRITTEN, well from my experience I was totally disgusted with the condition of this place, the CHALETS was dirty, dusty, dead inspects in the place, curtains dirty and dusty with holes, the floors was totally disgusting, bathrooms so unhygienic, the showers pipes rusted and broken, the doors falling apart, the kitchen where one cooks that was a sight for sore eyes, the dishes was stained rusted and full of hard fat (clearly this is not cleaned properly), the stove, mircro-wave the marks dirt was thick, I had to SPRING CLEAN before we even sat down, the toilets was totally dirty, lucky I brought my own cleaning things DISH WASH, HANDY ANDY etc along, the quest that was there all I spoke to was totally disgusted and we all went out to look for other accommodation, the water was brown and GREEN which at the end made our body full of out bust, even the hotel quest complained. The cleaning staff there is one place to start fire them all and get better friendly hardworking staff that wants to work rather.

There is not much to do and the Wi-Fi does not want to connect.
