Great service and quality food!

Went for the English Afternoon Tea at the lobby lounge. It was the worst meal I have had in many years. The doughnut was stale, hard and dry — I couldn't even cut it with the side of a fork! The brownie tasted like the ready made ones we buy at cold storage, the sandwich was obviously made in the morning or the day before and just left there to dry. It was hard and dry. I wouldn't even serve such bread to my pet, much less people. Their food shows they have no pride in their food. When I paid the bill, I mentioned this to the server who kindly notes my comments down. He later came to let me know that he let the chef and the manager know of my feedback. We stayed for another 15 minutes after that but no manager came to enquire further or to apologise for the sub-par food. Am a loyal member of Marriott bonvoy and Marriott hotels and restaurants, and this experience was shocking and really not what I have come to expect of Marriott. I treated my friend to the Afternoon Tea there and was so embarrassed that I chose such food. To pay almost $100 for this food was really the worst.

Dined with a friend on National Day 2019. Loved the array of seafood and sauces. Desserts were delicious. Special coffees made for us. We moved to the lounge area and had a lovely time. It was a pleasant and memorable experience.

Great service at Marriott café, especially by the junior staff. Believe the young gentleman's name is Jordan and there was another older Chinese gentleman who was equally polite and amiable! Very pleased and hope the management picks this up and gives them due credit :)

Everything is first class but the only setback is the food served are non halal except for few vege base meals and cereals.

The quality of the room is okay, good lighting, amenities, air-conditioning. The hotel receptionists, concierge and other service crew are okay as well. Service is okay, not that outstanding. But what I wanted to give feedback on is Marriott's Cafe — has bad buffet! There is not much choice and food doesn't taste good! We stayed 4 days and 3 nights and I alwats had to go out to have a good meal. Pls improve on your buffet… other than the room, this is one of the main attractions of a good hotel.

This is e worst buffet I ever had. None of the dishes were satisfactory. Even the hot tea n coffee served was horrible. All e dishes were simple hawker fare but all tasted bad. I can simply eat these dishes in any hawker center for a quarter of the price. The hawker stalls standard is far better than the hotel standard. The desserts were bad. The chicken rice was tasteless. Crepes tasted raw. Porridge was worthless. Horrible experience in a highly rated hotel.

The hotel is super busy. So don't expect bellboy service all the time. When I was there no one was there to help me with my luggage. But I can understand. Once I'm in, I asked their friendly staff where is the restaurant. He politely directly me to the restaurant. Nice ambience and very classy venue. When I'm leaving all the staff were friendly and did say goodbye to me. Overall A very pleasant visit.

The service was spot-on. Very attentive and alert servers at the Marriott Tang buffet. The food served at the buffet was hot and fresh. The environment had a natural feeling due to the small pond just outside the seating area of the buffet. I was pleased with my experience at the Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel.

We stayed in a Junior Suite from 27th July to 28th July. Unfortunately, the overall experience was not reflective of the hotel’s brand image and service standards. The stay in the Suite comes with access to the Executive Lounge. In the evening of 27th July (Day 1) at 7.00pm, we entered the lounge and found that there were no tables available for us. We were then asked to sit at the reception area while waiting for a vacant table. After about 15 minutes, a table under the TV screen was made available to us. In addition to the glare from the TV, we had to bear with the loud chatter across the lounge. On 28th July (Day 2), upon entering the lounge, we were again informed that there were no available tables. We walked around and did manage to find a vacant table with a chair. As there were two of us, we requested for another chair, to which your staff replied that there were none and availability was on a first come first serve basis. Her response was shocking as there were unoccupied chairs at the other tables. When we insisted for her to find us another chair, she asked a guest nearby for an unoccupied chair, albeit hesitantly. We were embarrassed having to stand in the middle of the lounge while this exchange took place with your staff and the other guests looked on. We did not expect this treatment, so we left. At 9.30pm the same evening, we decided to come for a drink.

Being as the hotel is in the middle of Orchard Road it is in walking distance of any type, kind, and price range of shopping you could desire. There are also an ample amount of restaurants nearby to choose from. The rooms are clean and neat, but nothing of great renowned review for me. I do say I love their breakfast. The staff there was very friendly and helpful and the food options are plentiful and delicious. Whether you want a traditional “western” or “eastern” breakfast or anything in between you have plenty of options. I was delighted to find that they provide multiple ice cream flavors! I mean what better way to finish breakfast! If the opportunity presents itself again, I will return to stay at the Marriott Tang Plaza…

Had the full breakfast at the Marriott outdoor cafe yesterday on my last day in Singapore. Good service, nice food although the cappuccino was the smallest serve I’ve ever had! Dissappointingly, while in the middle of breakfast, three paytrons came and sat at the high table right next to my table (only a meter away) and started chain smoking. I ended up having to move tables. When I asked the waiters why smoking was allowed, they just smiled sweetly so I asked to speak to the Manager on duty. She was a polite young lady but admitted she was not aware of any law in Singapore that makes it illegal to smoke where food is being served. She ended up not charging me for my second coffee but I would have prefered no smoke in my breakfast. My question is why smoking is allowed in the Marriott outdoor cafe, right beside diners? Very disappointing (and expensive breakfast! ) experience…

Had buffet lunch at Marriott cafe on a weekday. The spread was international cuisine. Their fresh seafood spread was good, especially the prawns were succulent and oysters were sweet and briny. Roast pork was crispy and roast chicken was good too. Give the date pudding and chocolate mousse a try. They could be a little more generous with the cheese though. Brie was out 30min into the buffet.

Went for a wedding dinner. Place looks grand and the service by the waiters were good. The banquet lunch was delicious but the portion is a little small. Did not stay over overnight but good experience.

Great hotel located centrally on orchard road. If you like shopping this is a good base camp. Also is walking distance to orchard towers. Breakfast is good, the executive lounge is also nice.

Good choice for lunch buffet — scrumptious fine international and fresh seafood dishes. This is the best place for that succulent crispy roasted pork knuckle! Choice for dessert is a bit too limited.

Wonderful hotel near the shopping area of Singapore. The room was large with nice views, decorated in a chic and functional way. Nice and comfortable bed with a good choice of pillows. Bathroom is very functional too with a spacious shower that works really well. Service is great, fast and completely non intrusive. One detail that captured me is the subtle but nice smell of flowers, accompanied with the sound of water when entering the hotel. In one word: wonderful.

Location of hotel is easily accessible by the MRT, shelter walkway means no worries of heavy downpour. Service level of staffs and banquet coordinators are generally good as well as their suite rooms are clean and spacious. However, quality of buffet in terms of spread and taste can be improved.

I just had my wedding at Singapore Marriott tang plaza on 12 May 2018 and I can’t say more about my experience! It is the most amazing wedding I had and this couldn’t happen without Denise loo! :) when I was faced with so many choices for venue/location, I decided to go with Marriott as I was so touched by her genuine and sincere nature after our first meeting. We were very impressed with her dedication and we did not regret our decision at all! She helped me carry out my dream wedding and I had received many wonderful reviews about my wedding! Thank you so much denise! This wonderful memory will stay with Jeffrey and I! :) thank you! A precious gem to have and keep in Marriott tang! :)

Good location, right in the middle of Orchard road. Was there for a dinner and dance event. Food standard was excellent and professional crew. Posh interior and certainly worthy of a 5* rating.

Went to the secret bar in the hotel for drinks. Really nice ambiance and good vibe. Nice cocktails and personal service. Highly recommended for a celebration.

Good food and service by Krishna Bala:-). Good location and great place to just relax, and enjoying a cocktail or two… and watch the world goes by. Though cocktail’s selection isn’t as great and the taste is quiet watery. Wines and beers are always an option.

Fantastic value for money buffet at Marriot cafe. We paid 80++ for 2 pax for the lunch buffet. Where else can you get lobsters for lunch at such good prices. The spread was decent but quality of food was not compromised. Overall it is one of the better buffets in Singapore that I have went to.

Our room was a pool terrace room, which was well worth the upgrade. Beautiful modern hotel right in an awesome location close to everything, including orchard rd and the underground MRT. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Staff were friendly and professional.

Had a high tea buffet before. The food is fresh and with quite a big spread. I love the local soup makes me feel in at home. The customer service is good too.

Service is good and staffs are friendly. Location is good as well. They have workshop room is level 2. Swimming pool view is wonderful. They are also following some environmental friendly initiative like changing towels as per clients needs.

The hotel is located on the famous Orchard Rd. Especially in the evening it is very nice. Expensive labels and big malls on the road. You can also eat very nice (and expensive) food here as expected.

Situated in the heart of orchard road. Shopping, food, entertainment are all a stone's throw away. Hotel and function rooms are great. Only issue was that the lifts are very slow during the peak hours. Be sure to check out the other room from an interesting take of a bar in the wall (though prices are steep)

I was there for a company event held at Level 3. Apart from the congested traffic on the way there, the location is easy to find. The lift lobby is in immaculate condition and the reception was very beautiful. The ballroom fit about 400 people easily with good sound system. How I wish I am able to stay there.

Some of staff in this hotel not so friendly, the bell boy won't help you with your stuff only help when you check in because they know you may only give them a money tip only when check-in, the guy who suppose to greet you near the entrance won't even smile for you only stare at you… Room service are very slow it took an hour to request a bottle of shampoo… as a Ritz Carlton member I feel this hotel only good in terms of location but not good in service. Didn't meet my expectation…

I’ve been a Club Marriott member for 2 years now. Overall, I’m pretty impressed with the standard of service and room. I’m particularly impressed with the service, food and beverages offered at the Club Lounge. One area that needs improvement is the food served at Marriott Cafe & Crossroads Cafe. The food is passable, bordering on average, and this is not expected of a luxury Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel. My comparison is based on food served at Cafe 2000 at M Hotel and Food Capital at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. There is an obvious difference in food taste. This would have been a 5 stars, if not for the food taste. Overall, I have the love for Marriott Tang Plaza and see myself a loyal Club Marriott member in the years to come. Well done!

Went to pool grill restaurant for lunch at Marriott hotel. The ambience was great, it was very quiet and serene. Had a great time there. The staff was also attentive and friendly. Highly recommended if you need a private moment away from the bustling crowd.

Went to have a high tea buffet with my colleagues where the tempered glass on the table top shattered when the table was moved and one of them had a minor cut on the hand. Upon changing table, it took them 15 minutes to take our order, not to mention that we were served cold truffle fries. We only got to know we had to pay for damages of $150++ for a piece of glass that was 5 years old (based on what the hotel staff said) using a quotation that was issued 6 months ago when we called for the bill. It was not communicated to us that we had to pay for the damages. The hotel staff claimed that based on CCTV footage, it was the action of moving the table that caused the glass to shatter while we couldn't get an acceptable explanation when we questioned the quality and shelf life of that glass. While reasoning out with the hotel staff, she intimated us by saying that they can bring in the police if need be. Is this how the hotel staff are trained to manage such situations? I decided to settle the damages as there is no need to dampen the Festive mood further as the high tea session was meant to celebrate an early Christmas. In your attempt to make customer pay for your table glass top of $150++, you have left a very unpleasant experience in 5 customers (possibly more than 5 once this negative experience spreads across social media platforms) where our future potential spending in Marriott could easily cover the cost of a glass table top. Well done Marriott!

We had the dinner buffet at Marriott hotel. The price was alright as there was a one-for-one promotion for members, and my family members felt the spread was not bad. There was a good flow (consistent generous top up) of sashimi and oysters despite it being very popular. However I felt that the spread overall was not that impressive or wide. There was a bit of Indian, Japanese a bit of Italian pasta, roast meats, etc. But it felt kinda piecemeal. (More Chinese stuff, which isn't that 'wow') I personally prefer and have been to other buffets with a wider selection of each cuisine, with more chefs cooking upon request. And I felt that one of the chefs could have been more friendly to guests. She treated us as if she was having a bad day. It's not the best service when guests are even more friendly than servers on duty, no? Overall I did have a good time — there were many responsive and helpful staff! But I don't think it meets a 5-star standard. So just a (still very respectable) 4 stars from me.

Went to attend my cousin's wedding at Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel. The service was amazing. Food was insanely good, the roasted chicken and fish was cooked to perfection. They even managed to replicate shark fin soup without adding shark fin. We are a shark friendly family which makes our meal comfortable for us. We had a 5 course fine dining meal and the waitress/waiters service was top notch. Had a really great wedding experience!

Went to the ball room on the 3rd floor for dinner and dance. There was a bar counter at level 2, which we can get free drinks. But during the dinner service, I pity the poor servers who have to walk all the way from level 3 to 2 just to get a glass of soft drink. Alas, who would order soft drinks at a dinner. People just want to drink hot tea and plain water right. Anyway, the air conditioning is cooling and the toilet is clean. The food, though, is less to be desired. Absolutely edible!

It's in a super convenient location. The metro is below the hotel and the hop on hop off site seeing tour picks up on the corner. There is easy access to food & shopping. I had access to the executive suite so I had free breakfast daily that was very good. There were cocktails and finger foods in the evenings.

The food was amazingly delicious. Lamb shank was stunning. Carbonara, creamy and beautiful. What I liked the most? It would be the crispy duck. The skin was crusty and the meat was moist, dissolving in the mouth. All in all, it was a splendid meal.

I was there for a wedding banquet. Food and service was pretty good. One minor nitpick was that the ceiling is a tad low and its design slightly dated, affecting the elegance of the ballroom.

Poor front desk experience — arrogant, do not put guests first, could not even get my membership right and downright rude. Will never recommend nor stay at this hotel again. Came across only 1 great service staff who worked at the pool restaurant who is truly "brilliant"… rest just provide lip service.

Attended a recruitment talk on a Friday evening, held at one of the event rooms on the 3rd level. The location of the hotel is conveniently located within walking distance from bus stops and the mrt station. There was light refreshments provided. Overall the food and services were satisfactory.

We frequent the Marriott Cafe for their weekend buffets. We love their buffets for the following reasons: 1.1-for-1 promotions with the various credit cards. Value for money! 2. High quality buffet spread. They focus on quality dishes which are not commonly found in other buffets. I personally love the spicy eggplant with minced beef! 3. Environment was not noisy and empty plates were cleared promptly. Good service from the waitresses! 4. Excellent location with ample parking. We always enjoy ourselves there. In fact, we have made reservations and will be returning in a fortnight for lunch again.

The hotel is in a decent location with shopping located steps outside of the hotel or even beneath the hotel. The subway is literally below the hotel and provides access to all business areas in Singapore. The room I had was clean and provided for a good night's sleep. The ac in the room (like other hotels) shuts off when your key card is removed. You could keep it running with a deactivated card but that defeats the purpose of saving energy. The furniture in the room was clean but looked a little used. The bathroom and shower were adequate and I liked the separate vanity area (perfect for women). The views are nice and can be fully blocked with curtains at night. The TV had a few decent channels with a mix of Mandarin and English. The restaurant at the hotel was a little expensive for the area, but had a nice breakfast buffet with many different options including pastries, juices, omelets, and meats. The pool is very nice as well. The one complaint I have is some of the flooring in the hallways is stained and needs to be cleaned or replaced.

Nice rooms, high floors have a good view. Very clean and staff are courteous. Nice drinks on the executive floor aren't weak pours, as some free flow services can be.

The Chinese restaurant on the third floor serves really delicious dim sum. Choices are great and service immaculate. Wonderful people that serves with a smile. Enjoyed my brunch through and through. They've got platinum amex card discounts and Citibank discount. Try it!

Had drinks at the lobby with friends, staff was very polite. Seats and sofa were comfortable. Some renovation going on near the toilet so it looked a little messy. After midnight, classical music was played, soothing.

The location in the heart of the city is perfect, there is a metro station that opens right outside the hotel and that allows you to surf very quickly everywhere in Singapore.
The rooms are spacious, the service efficient and very discreet and I especially enjoyed the staff always attentive and smiling.
There are many services: restaurants, lounge, grill next to a superb swimming pool perfect for a good time of relaxation. Room Service and laundry tested and approved also.

Conveniently located! This hotel is located in the area of the ~tang, the extreme convenience of the hot, its 4 sides are surrounded by several well-known large-scale shopping malls, the Far East, Shori, OG. And Robinson. Opposite is ion, Yi Dan and Yi-an city, walk namely 迖, super convenient, can the house price is not cheap, but the room is very spacious bright, live down will very comfortable.

The Mariott Cafe Buffet was so so only. They do serve fresh oysters and prawns but the rest of the food was pretty standard.

The High tea held over here at Marriott is quite an interesting concept — with Oysters and prawns… Well, not to say that the food was bad, but rather, it was different. There were many local cuisines, including Roti Prata, Hokkien Mee, Chicken Rice and other stuff, though the quality was just simply alright. Nothing special, nothing unique.

The was hotel nicely renovated. But that's all. I had the worst ever experience with a 5star hotel. We arrived and greeted by a very rude bell boy, then we waited for over half an hour to get our bags delivered upstairs. Our room, which is a double room with an extra bed that we were paying extra for. Well, meaning 3 guests were staying in that room. The extra bed was setup, great, however there were only 2 set of towels… Rocket science. So we called the reception, nothing happened. We then asked the house keeping staff who happened to be in the hall, we politely explained and asked if we can have a extra towel. She replied "why, when are u checking out, why do u need extra towel… " basically questioned us like we were some kind of criminals. Finally got that extra towel, then the same thing happened the day after. The week before I stayed in a small hotel in chinatown costed me SG$130 per night had given me better service.

The buffet dinner offered here is alright. It Can be better if they have more choices. And with a charge more than $60 per person and they dont even provide cappuccino or latte. Only brew coffee n tea.

This is an old hotel, and you can feel it. The location is good, but for the price you can get better, newer hotels in the area with even better locations.

One of the worst stays in a Marriott in Asia. Lounge completely overcrowded and people sitting at the front desk due on seats — Beanbags next? Pool under renovations for 4 months, next option a 10 min walk away. Dated interior but 2015 prices! Only redeeming feature is the staff doing their best to work under trying conditions.

To explore Orchard road with various shops and Packable material makes gathering the city, spotless. Unattainable to us, good little restaurant about 100 meters from the hotel on Orchard road for the Peking duck, but can't remember the name.

My family and I had an amazing stay here in July 2014. The staff were overwhelmingly accommodating and friendly — Andrew, Fadz and Lisa are a few of the extremely gracious staff members we interacted with. Despite showing up at 10 am, we were allowed to check into the exact room of our choice; when checking out, we were given the option of checking out 2 hours late because of an evening flight. The amenities, especially the pool and spa, were impeccably maintained and very nice. The breakfast buffet and restaurant in the lobby served delicious food, as did the Chinese restaurant, which we enjoyed as room service. The location is perfect and puts you right in the middle of the malls and right next to the MRT. Finally, the decor in the hotel and the rooms is gorgeous and there's a beautiful floral scent that hits you as soon as you start walking along the fountains outside.

Dining at the Marriott hotel's chinese restaurant Wan Hao was a bad experience. Service was poor and the food quality was not in keeping with the status of the hotel. I will not return again.

Great service. A nice place to stay. In the centre hub of Orchard, convenient and easily accessible. Close to public transport.
