Windows has broken you feel the wind during your sleep, the place is dirty and the repairer comme in you room without warning when you sleep, very very bad the manager force me to pay and threaten after make a wrong booking.

Don’t stay there… it’s not worth it due to unsatisfactory service, unclean room, poor management and things don’t work. It’s not worth it and there’s nicer accomodation for a better price elsewhere.

Value for money. Good for a night stay. Friendly staff.

Bedbugs! Shame I have to give even one star. We stayed there for a weekend trip without too many expectations. We’ve been to cheap hostels before but we’ve never seen anything like this ever before! After the first night we found out they had bed bugs! Huge ones too! After telling the staff, they moved us to another room, said they knew about the issue and tried their hardest and that there’s nothing they can do when travelers bring them in. Coming back to the hostel the next night, we’ve found more bugs in the supposedly bug-free room (side note: the rooms, the sheets and the bathrooms were absolutely dirty! Not even swept through! ). After refusing to set another foot in this room, they offered to move us into a room with other guests, knowing that we would probably bring bugs into that room as well. They threatened to call the police when we wanted to stay in the lobby for the rest of the night, were more than rude and not even a little helpful. Not once we heard an apology. Worst hostel experience ever, while being the most expensive we had! The foot in the picture is my friends after one day in of their beds…

This hostel is horrible! After one night in a buginfested room my friends (we shared a room) were full of bedbug bites. After our complaint we were transferred to another room that was also infested with bedbugs. I decided to stay in another room where four people of our group spend the night. Around 4 or 5 am a staff member knocked rudely at the door and wanted me (half-asleep) to leave the room. Five of our group did not sleep a tiny bit that night and were threatened and insulted by the manager. I can not imagine how anyone can run a hostel with that kind of attitude. The manager did not apologize and we can only dream of a refund for this horrible experience. Not to speak about the damage that is done to our belongings or the physical harm of my friends.

(For an easy answer, don’t bother paying at this trash can, if you want reason as to why I say that, just read) I had to give it one star because no stars wasn’t an option. Absolute joke of a hostel, throughout this month, me and my buddies have gone to four hostels (this being the fifth) ; each and every one was €60 for three nights in a 10 person bunk, the staff was great, there was a bar, a functioning kitchen, and restroom/showers that could fit multiple people, the breakfast was the average eggs, cereal and toast. As well as there being a little plaza or lounge for hostel members to meet up and socialize and wander the city. Everything I just now mentioned is the opposite of this rundown motel, for five nights and a 12 person bunk, we were paying €220 and refusal to take credit or debit. Some other travellers we spoke to along the visit had mentioned to us they had booked their stay the day of, and when asked the price per person they had responded with “oh I quite liked it, it was €14” There breakfast was a loaf of bread (the same which I found at a market next door for €0.99) with jam and peanut butter and in the kitchen was a crammed fridge and no toaster. When we were relaxing in our dorm and planning the day the owner would barge into our room and do what looked like an inspection, without any warning or knock (we had few female bunk mates so if they had been dressing) which was very unprofessional.

Absolutely horrid place. The day I arrived I found out that some people in the hostel had been robbed, this was the first bad sign which I should have paid attention to. Beds are disgusting as well as dirty sheets and bed bugs. Location is nice but definitely not worth staying here for. They have a NO refund policy in any case, even though I explained my grandmother had just passed and I had to leave early as it was an emergency. The reason why they don’t accept refunds is because they know the place is horrible and it’s the only way they can make money. Extremely disappointed. I booked 2 weeks in advance and was charged 36 Euros per night, while a person who arrived the same day and booked the day before only paid 12 euros, doesn’t make sense… all in all I tell everyone to stay away from this place, you really should look at other hostels. I had such a bad experience that I ended up moving to another hostel (stayokay oost) and lost my money, but it was worth it feeling safer and cleaner environment. Close this place down.

Hello people. With My boyfriend We are touring Europe and booking Emcontramos This hostel was the most economical and had super bad reviews, we booked two beds in a room with 10 beds. And today I recommend it to everyone who comes to Amsterdam, * The location a 10, * Breakfast a 10 (TE or cage with white or whole bread repeat as often as you want and you can combine with jam, cream of peanut or chocolate and butter), * the pieces are small but super comfortable clean and modern (are triple bunks but are super), * The bathroom is good locality modern, small but confortable, you have hot water and good pressure), * The Wifi is a 10.
This Hostel has everything you need a traveler and more! More than recommended! Do Not be carried away by comments of people "Facha". We came in fear for the comments I had and we took a super cute surprise.
Poreso leave the comment extensive re but not to be fooled by negative people.

Check-In was simple and straightforward, as was Check-Out. Name The Booking name, pay and pay a €10 Key Deposit. Then you can make yourself comfortable in your Room. We had paid a 10-Bed Room for about €17p. P. What we found was worth its Price. The Rooms were clean. We had a Balcony, and an ensuite With Shower. The Location of the Hostel is also Good. It is located at the Museumsplein stop. An Albert Heijn is also just above the Road in case you missed the Breakfast included in the price in The morning (-9:30h). We had a pleasant Night at Hostel Annemarie and like to go back.

It's a hostel! So you have to expect not all the amenities, but price and location are unbeatable.

It's a good place, the bedroom and bathroom were very clean. The breakfast had few options but I liked.

Very good hostel, Sunday to Thursday great prices, for the weekend do not shave, the cost for saturday can live all week from Sunday to Thursday inclusive, excellent showerrooms on the top floor, as a bonus breakfast, which you learn about only at check-in, not bringing special tea, coffee sandwiches, but nice, kitchens where you can cook no, but there is a kettle and microwave, a great indoor backyard.

They have cats and that met really unpleasant, the smell was disgusting.

Bad service only allow payments with cash are contradicted in what they say are rude and other than that I tried to stupid, the kitchen smells like urine cat and melodean throughout the kitchen I do not recommend.

Bad vibes! The bathroom was in a What was the old airing Cupboard. Practically had a shower in the toilet. 5 bunk beds 10 people all using the ‘’cupboard’’ in the room. No lockers or storage boxes (every man for them self) bed bugs. They had loads of mad rules. I was ready for a crack pipe to be pulled out. Tripped me out. I rented one of them many bikes in the back yard and peddled quickly away… stay away!

Awful experience. It wasn't overpriced because of the location. But in terms of commodity it was horrible. And it smells very bad near the kitchen area and bathroom wich made it impossible for me to do smtg in the kitchen bcause I couldnt stand the smell. The staff was okay. The internet doesn't really work so I didnt even used it. Underneath my bed there was a lot of dust.

Terrible hostel. I don't recommend it to everyone.

Breakfast was… Not particularly… the rooms were clean and for the price you can't say anything! The staff was also almost always very nice.

1. They should learn to speak English if they want to steal money properly. 2. They should stop stealing money (yes, stealing). 3. They should start learning politeness. 4. DO NOT GO THERE! 1 star = just because I have to if I want to share my comment. It's worth nothing.

Construction works carried out while we were staying, construction workers had key and were entering our room without our knowledge, manager real dick and he dont have respect towards his guests, cats walking all over kitchen counter, brekfast toast breax and jam, rooms 3x3meters no windows 6 people in one room.

A horrible hostel. I didn't have a room with sofas or watch TV. Just your bunk. The bathrooms are dwarfs, literally when you open the door you have the toilet on your face, and the shower at 50 centimeters. The sink was tucked away from the room itself and all the noise from the people who washed their teeth when they returned from party was unbearable. Those who wore the hotel, some rude people who told me they would not let me change the litter (to one that was empty), because if not the cleaning would have to clean a little more… hello? Well, I was freaking out. A place I will never go back to and I would never recommend. The only good thing I had was the location, but if you look a little better, you find places just as price and evidentemnte, much better. I will never return.

Awfull place, bad Service, rude landlord, no comfort place, not recommended at all. Avoid this place it is a waste of money, energy and time. Never come back.

Horrendous personnel. Impossible to talk to the manager to come up with a solution. I'm not going to take this place again in my life. In order to get out they benefited by staying the money and stay you outside the hotel without taking advantage of the stay possible, they happy.

Over 2 months of travelling Europe by far the worst and way over priced hostel! Everything about this place was bad! Bad beds worst linen terrible staff attitude. Two out of two nights someone different in my bed because of terrible staff organisation. Wouldn't recommend for anyone better of sleeping on the street.

THIS PLACE HAS BEDBUGS! If you have read the other reviews than this should not come as a surprise. Good location next to the museums but would recommend avoiding this place if possible.

WORST HOSTEL I'VE EVER SEEN! 60€/night/pers for a mixed dormitory of 12 people whereas I had book a female dormitory. The whole hostel was under construction, the kitchen was ridiculous and flooded when it was raining and I don't even talk about the only "common area"… They only accept cash. Which is inacceptable for a hostel and my sheets were super dirty when I arrived…

This has been the worst hostel experience I have had so far. The staff was not very friendly or helpful, rooms and bathroom were dirty. When I walked into my room, someone was on my assigned bed. The staff looked so confused and ended up putting the person on another bed presumed to be empty and when he came back later someone was on his bed! They are very unorganized, breakfast is pathetic, awful vibes. Do yourself a favor and pay a little extra for a better place, it's sooo worth it. Never staying at this hostel again.

Some Of the staff was great and very helpful. However the owner how was walking in and out of the place was a rather nasty person. Always yelling at someone and been constantly rude at guests for no good reason. Shame as he place and the location was great.
Another big issue with the place is that they only take cash payments!? Who travels with that smooth of cash? If you try to check in after 9 pm you will have to walk 20 minutes each way to find a cash point. The only tell you this once you arrive.

The relationship quality price bad. I don't recommend it. Small rooms. Bath dwarf almost not worth. Common space small and at breakfast time there was no room for all. It is shabby and not very clean. The only good thing is the location.

Nice hostel with all basic amenities. They provide breakfast in morning. Also its at walking distance from Rijks Museum. A very quiet place.

Not recommended to stay here. No credit card payment, very poor breakfast. Everything is very old and mostly dirty. Very small shower and toilets. Small rooms. Overall price is much higher than it's deserve it. But location is very good. Staff was helpful in my case but seems it's can be very random.

The price for you location is great. If you only require a bed to sleep in and you're not picky than this is great for you! The showers and bathrooms smell very very musky and mouldy and the shower curtains were covered in mould. We were on the first floor and it was very loud, you were forever waking up to the buzzer. But staff were very kind and helpful and the location was awesome! Also, no where to lock up valuables.

Hotel hostel not friendly except for breakfast It's a pity, small rooms, common shower not tip top, you can not even smoke in front of the building because it is a district too rich people do not like Dixit the concierges… Otherwise it is exclusion.

If I could put no star I would do very bad service a very bad reception, the manager tried a scam as we were French tourists about displaced (still French, bad-bred), the toilets that are next to the showers are Flooded with pee (a pipe must be cracked or broken) if I were to put a note I will give 2/20

For the price the hotel is fine, but it's still a very basic service: common dormitory, kitchen, toilets and showers Commons!
If you have a small budget, and you're not cosy: go for it.

Not spacious and staff were not so friendly. Cleanliness mediocre at best. But served the purpose of a place for sleeping overnight, not far from centre. Sheets/heating/hot water in shower/Wi-Fi provided.

Brilliant staff, very friendly and helped me throgh very difficult payment circumstances. Very clean rooms, clean bathrooms and living rooms, very roomy, and awesome vibe! always ready to help. Heaps close location to the city centre. Defidentally recommend !

We cancelled a booking and this hostel has kept our money. We had booked this hostel without checking reviews, and quickly learned from a lot of sources that they had a bed bug problem. Not wanting to ruin our trip because of something like that, we cancelled on the 20th May 2015, emailed the cancellation to the address the hostel stipulated including the booking reference and giving up our £15 each deposit, which was fine. We ended up staying somewhere else and had a great time in Amsterdam. Yet upon our return on the 2nd June 2015 we found that they had not cancelled the booking and had in fact CHARGED US ANYWAY FOR THE WHOLE AMOUNT. So as well as bed bug infestations they also apparently don't like cancellations and will keep your money if you try to cancel. I will happily change this review if they return the money they are due to us.

Hostel is fine if you all need is a place to stay a night or two. Anything else, avoid. The staff are rude, don't seem to appreciate guests, too many rules with not enough signs telling you those rules, kitchen is nothing than a fridge and a microwave, the common room is too small for the number of beds, and it's generally terrible.

I booked last minute without checking reviews. Warning. The place is full of bedbugs. One of our party was covered in bites. Its also dirty and cramped. Find another hostel. This place is terrible.

A Hostel, whoever expected more must be something else!

Our room was filled with bed bugs the moment we stepped into the room, we didn't even stay the night. We were hanging out, ready to unpack when a couple bed bugs crawled onto our phones and lap. The owner was not helpful at all in solving the problem. He refused to talk to us on the phone and didn't offer to refund our money back even though we stayed for only 2 hours. Stay away at all costs. We found a couple hotels down the street at 3 am that night that were cheaper on a per person basis and was actually habitable.

This place is a fantastic hostel. Particularly the abundant free internet, both wireless on and on free hostel pcs. They got some cool cats running around and keep the place pretty clean. Really friendly people with good knowledge of the area. Ideally located just around the corner from the museumplein bus stop or tramstop, which goes directly to and from the airport. A walk in the park takes you to the center of the city.

Very good value for money, this hostel was very nice and clean and close to parks, museums and shops. Staff are also very nice people! Will stay again! :).

Warning: Bed bugs! We stayed at Annemarie Hostel for two nights and it was a nightmare! We are students and usually not picky. The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful, the kitchen didn't have anything at all, the rooms were tiny and really humid, the bathroom was really dirty and had a horrible smell to it. The key card did'nt work, so we had to ask the staff to open the door for us every time and in the end we had to pay 10€ for the key even though we didn't break it. They didn't even have a toaster, so the breakfast was untoasted toast with peanutbutter and jelly, but okay enough. Now to the worst part: We stayed in room number 11 and got bed bugs, which we discovered shortly after. We were completly covered in bites. So please take our advice and don't stay here.

The place is a total dump. Doesn't meet any standards for a hotel or hostel. Dirty, uncomfortable and disgusting attitude from the staff. The ads that are published are full of false information: Free Breakfast — LIE! Breakfast is not available at all. Free Internet Acces Wi-Fi and — true. Only around the reception. Free Linens — semi true. One sheet. Choose whether to put it above or below you. Blankets are dirty and full of hair. Free Luggage storage — LIE! The suitcases are pushed around in the common room and you have to pay 3 euros for 2 hours of storage. Free Citymap — true. There are in all tourist offices. Free Walking Tour — of course it is free. You can walk as much as you want. Free Use of Guest Kitchen — LIE! Free Use of Lounge and TV — if they could, they would request and fee for standing in the lobby, but it's impossible. Bicycle rental — LIE! They don't have bikes. Public parking is possible at a location nearby and costs EUR 4.50 per hour. — LIE! The parking lot is outside the city limits (miles away from the hostel) and costs 13 EUR per day. Vending machine (drinks), Vending machine (snacks) — LIE! No vending machines. Annemarie accepts credit cards — LIE! They just want your credit card number, require payment in cash, and then they take the money once more by credit card-you pay twice. They do not issue documents for the payment in cash-you can't prove that you have already paid.

Horrible service, I was told I could not stay here because apparently someone had canceled my reservation. Unhelpful staff, you're better off finding a hostel toward Amsterdam Centraal.

All I can see is negative reviews, but from what I gathered when I stayed here a few weeks ago they've cleaned up. This is the hostel you should go to if you like a more low-key quiet stay, and it is more or less the direct opposite of The Flying Pig. The rooms were classy and beautiful, and the overall hostel looks a lot like the house of an old lady. They also have a pet cat. The walls in the breakfast room however have the colour patterns of a mental hospital, and that's the only negative thing I have to say.

To be a hostel I had a good experience. Shared Room (from 6) clean. Shared bathroom was OK. Nice receptionist and very friendly. There is Wi-Fi, PC workstations and shared kitchen (a bit stinky) but it goes well and still a hostel, as always require spirit of adaptation.

One should not too much expected but all in all a good hostel.

Just bad. It fills in the hostel not as a guest. To be considered unexplained aggression by the staff and feel constantly across the table. Competitive is unreasonably bad. It is offered simply does not work. The sheets are clean, is unfortunately the only thing that will evaluate positive can.
A few experiences: The staff wanted to not show the room. It was offered only a chip card (4 pers. ). At breakfast it was all to point 9:00 wordlessly eingeräum even though we were not finished. We could not bring the purchased snacks in the room. At 9:30 on the day of departure comb the type in the room and command notes issues that we in 30 minutes. The room must leave. During retraction in the room we have tried the staff on the attention of smell from the toilet: that want us with easy "does not" believe.
On the question of who enters the rooms with us, was that the hotel is under video surveillance, and I can touch anyone in the room told in a more aggressive form me. Just brainless.
I would like to warn you against this hell. Throwing money out the window and looking for the money better.
