Quirky place. Great, clean facilities. Super friendly and helpful staff. Take minimum stuff as not much can be in the rooms, but there is a baggage storage. It's great for a weekend away. Close to transport and museums. Loved our stay there.

Incredible experience staying here. Incredibly accommodating, close to the markets, Van Gogh museums, and bars. The staff was so helpful which included giving us maps and showing us all the best spots and local secrets. The capsules are small, but nothing not noted in the website. It may be difficult with lots of luggage, but they do have storage! The bathrooms were also incredibly clean-and as someone who values cleanliness to the extreme, it was great. The bathrooms are cleaned daily and include organic shampoos, lotions, and body washes in the showers. Overall cannot wait to come back and cannot recommend it enough! Great price for the unique experience and impeccable location.

Perfect location. Right in the middle of the museum district and a 15-20 minute walk away from the city center. Friendly staff, cute hotel cat. Super easy check in process. The capsules are clean and spacious. Bathrooms are clean too. Just don't stay here if you can't walk up 3 flights of stairs. There's no elevator. Also not really geared towards children.

Lovely hotel with lovely owners too! The staff is super nice and so are the rooms! Very clean! And the cat is super cute too! Nothing to complain at all! 100% loving it! Would go back there any time!

Tiny space and air conditioning didn't work Edit: Oh my! Management saw my comment, which I made mid-stay and became incredibly hostile. Management demanded they speak with me as if I were in trouble at school or something. When I went to speak with them, we asked if we could receive a full or partial refund for the night we stayed in an AC-less capsule. They flew into a rage at that point. Three different staff members came out to yell at us — still not sure whom any of them were, but doesn't matter. They yelled various xenophobic comments about Americans being animals/inhumane before forcing us to leave. One staff member also yelled that he would sue me lol. They seemed truly intent on arguing, as one man hovered over us as we were packing to leave, continuing to try and goad us with strangely personal remarks — me not being a real man or something to that effect because my wife was the one who spoke more with the staff. They clearly hold some antiquated ideologies. You can tell by the way they reply with awkwardly long and scathing remarks to every negative review that this is not a professionally trained staff. Whatever — small businesses, I suppose. For what it's worth, the concierge Luigi was cool and friendly. Though apparently he had some negative stuff to say about us, but no hard feelings lol. He was really helpful. BTW — I recommend spending $80 more and staying at the Conscious Hotel nearby. They were great.

Amazing! The whole vibe of the place is great. The reception, lounge, Madonna the cat, the beds, the facilities, and, of course, the hosts contributed to a fantastic stay. Highly recommend for an authentic Dutch experience.

Good place to spend 1 or 2 nights but more it becomes uncomfortable. The rooms are very clean and the bed is comfortable. But to change you is not well thought out, you hit the walls and you can not stand. The location is good 20min from Central Station by tram and next to the museums. A nice place for a short stay in Amsterdam.

As my first experience in a capsule I was really lucky: the hotel is delicious, welcoming, clean and in a great location. The staff is really friendly and helpful! Highly recommended!

What a unique place and an original idea! The bed is very comfortable, the common room on the ground floor is cosy and the staff there is super friendly and is always ready to help you out. Though it is not in the very centre of Amsterdam, its location is perfect in my view (great museums are just around the corner). The only down part is the sound isolation for me, but if you have a pair of earplugs, that should not be a big problem.

The owner is charming! He's treated us super well. He's very attentive. He speaks English and Italian. The place is a super cool and comfortable and clean pass. The bathrooms are the same. He's got everything. It is a place come so the food is vegan and the products they offer in the bathroom are natural. It is 5 minutes from Rijkmusean, from all the main museums. And the number 16 train that comes from the red light district is right in front of the hotel. In conclusion if I go back to Amsterdam I stay here again. Thank you Norman!

Excellent! The comfortable and big capsules! Clean toilets! A little unlike having Q open the suitcase every time you go to the bathroom! But very good everything and very friendly about everything.

Super cozy! The rooms consist mostly of the bed itself, but it is a huge and comfortable bed. Laid back hotel with its own unique and unforgettable atmosphere.

The most thoughtful, beautifully decorated hostel I have ever stayed in. The owners as well as the staff are awesome, and if given the chance to get to know, them I seriously recommend it. If we come back to Amsterdam we will definitely stay there again.

Very unique idea and well put together. The lighting in the cubes is a bit trippy, but very clean and modern. Especially the bath rooms. Amazing customer service. Poor air circulation in the cubes.

I've been to many capsule hostels/hotels worldwide but the Bedstee in Amsterdam is by far the most comfortable in which I have ever been.
It is all very high quality, the bathrooms are at 4 star level and the staff like to take care of every little problem.

In addition, you can enjoy free home cakes.

De bedstee is in a decent location. You could find better places to stay but they will be much more expensive. The capsules themselves were a bit larger than I thought they would be, however another shelf or two in the capsules would have been nice. The beds were also very comfy. I am 1.9m (6 ft. 3in) tall and thought it was plenty enough room for me and my partner. — 2 stars because: we stayed in the 100 level (ground floor) rooms. These rooms don't get Wi-Fi and you have to walk up the stairs past the reception to use the toilet/ shower. We requested to change rooms for the next evening and the receptionist seemed like it would not be an issue. The next morning we told the receptionist of the change but he said he didn't know how to help us because he was not an actual receptionist (this was at 9:45am). Because of this, we could not change our room. Also, there are one or two cats roaming the place… They were very friendly. This place is worth it if you are eyeing a cheaper place to stay that is very clean and up to date. Edit: +1 star for Owner's response.

This place is the best. The capsules are surprisingly cozy and comfortable and the bathroom facilities are the best I've seen in a hotel ever. The staff also were super friendly and accomadating. Would recommend anyone visiting Amsterdam to visit here.

I wanted to make a young trip, so I was looking for a hostel and I found a gem: Super quality bed, in a small private space super clean, super technological: Air conditioning, customizable lights, space — small but efficient baggage, super bathrooms Elegant, super clean and music with cable radio. Common areas: Bar-dining room and lounge and small greenhouse in the green, beautiful and welcoming, made even more pleasant by the friendly and pleasant reception of the staff, but in particular by MAURO! Absolutely loved it. Perfect location, centered around a lot of great places while being out from busy tourists and close enough to walk almost anywhere. Rooms are cool and comfy. Staff is helpful and always happy to help your quality of stay and travels. Would come back.

The capsules are good to sleep in, the staff is very friendly, the breakfast is not recommended except for the cocoa, but the animal guests are cute.

I loved it, awesome idea this "bedstee" thing. I was concerned it'd be uncomfortable at first but it was great and super cute. I ended up having to stay at a different place because of availability and wished I had reserved here for the whole trip. The bathrooms are nice, clean and updated. For this price elsewhere I guarantee you'll end up at hostel sharing a room in some noisy area with dirty old showers. Having said that, be informed the "capsules" are what they sound like, capsules. They're the size of a double bed with barely any ceiling height, not for the claustrophobic. You can easily find pictures online, what you see is exactly how it is once you get there. They have cute light colors options inside and 4 power outlets and very small strip between the door and mattress where you could place a few items or a small backpack. Surprisingly they are very sound proof, and I'm a light sleeper.

The Hotel was very comfortable, the location was very good.
Mattress and Pillow super comfortable. The space, even being a capsule, is very spacious and comfortable, there is a place destined to leave the suitcase. The bathroom is very clean and has a hairdryer and clean towels as many as you want.
To be able to be better a lower capsule, since the stairs of the superiors are not very comldas.
They have a cute kitten at the reception.
Would definitely repeat.

Another hotel concept. It is perfectly located within a 5-minute walk of the Van Gogh Museum. Children are not allowed even the most much. And the bathrooms stay a little small in the morning.

I stayed in the capsules two nights with my partner, if you have spirit of adaptation it is a nice experience, clean bathrooms and capsules also. Excellent price for the average Amsterdam and the point very close to the center.

The rooms are exactly as described on the webside. It's okay for a few days. The cleanliness of the bathroom on the floor, however, leaves something to be desired, which is mainly to blame for dingy people.
However, the bed sheet was also only conditionally clean.
The breakfast was very good for the price. What was not apparent on the website and was only to be guessed when entering the hotel by looking at an inconspicuous sheet of paper next to the reception is that the hidden description on the internet as a "small breakfast" is more than literally to take. It consists only of a croissant with jam, a coffee or tea and an orange juice.

What a nice concept: sleep in Dutch vintage style. Such a nice experience. Comfortable beds, nice staff and good pricing in this part of Amsterdam. Certainly a thumbs up. We will come back again.

The place has changed use destination no longer uma suite has become bester capsules you sleep then in beds closed as cupboards where you do not stand up and in this space you have to put also suitcases shoes and bathrobes or towels at the expense of the very little space There is an excellent cleanliness in both the capsule and in the shared bathrooms and an attentive and helpful staff.

Great location out of the city center. Close enough to every thing interesting city attractions. Not suitable for children. Host was very helpful.

The apartment is fantastic! Very clean, equipped with all the necessary, beautifully decorated and the little details so amazing! The location is very elegant close to everything! The host Norman gave us the best welcome! We really loved the Heemskerk Suites! Thank you Norman for the wine and the cookies!
