Small room, but very clean and in the middle of the center of Amsterdam…

The central location makes this hotel great We walked to all our destinations from here!
Good evening street food and bars are all around and easy walking distance.

Fantastic stay, stunning views from our room, would definitely reccomend and will definitely be returning.

We have a very very very small room for much money. At the TV you just get one italian channel and the furniture at the bathroom is damaged. The room is not clean. Well, it doesn't worth the amount which they ask for the rooms. If you wanna take this Hotel, let you show first the chamber, before you pay.

Was given a single room and it was really micro mini… But had all necessities. Biggest positive is it's location. Less than a km from haftbanhauf and right into the middle of the center of the city. Service okay and breakfast good. Is okay for stay for a night or two.

Great stay on the canal. I had an accordian busker playing on the street outside my window. 2 block away was a fantastic coffee and sandwich/bakery place for a nice morning start. The hotel also had the nicest breakfast. From here all locations in canal zone is an easy walk. And through the top of 'the horseshoe' is another wonderful exciting area 2 blocks away to the square. No end of sites to see and places to sit and try the culture.

Great location, good price — quality but one need to realize that rooms are tiny and old.

Very nosy owner, he will enter your room when your not in it and check what you have in your room! I was staying there from 2009, in 2017 the owner threw me out after 9 years of knowing me because I came with a cross necklace (he is jewish and I was also, but when he saw me wearing the cross he became hateful! ), also the room is in the size of a cigarette box. And do not go out and come back many times a day the owner will throw you out! better to sleep in vondelpark!

Small Rooms, lots of Noise, no Room for Luggage, a Room with beautiful Views, one with Roof right in front of it, Location is central, Bathrooms were clean, staff very friendly, Breakfast tastes very friendly but nothing dolles. Upon Ascent to our Room almost broken something, the Stairs do not go at all. (Rooms 9, 10, 11 & 12) Far too expensive, it's definitely not worth it.

Very small rooms, and you have to ask for one extra duvet if you are a couple. The provided one is very small. No heater in the bathroom but the room's heating is ok. Superior rooms have a lovely view over a canal. The staff is friendly. Nice stay overall!

Beautiful area in the middle of the service!

I reserved a room for two nights at this hotel through Expedia. They tried to charge my card the same day I reserved the room and said it was declined. They then told me that my reservation was cancelled. Well and good, I reserved a room at another hotel. When I get back from the trip I realize that Hotel Nes charged my card after they told me it had been declined.

Very nice hotel. It is better to choose rooms overlooking the canal. The rooms are small, very compact but cozy. All the sights are within walking distance. Polite, sympathetic and professional management.

The hotel was lovely, very friendly staff on reception. Didn't get the room we ordered (we booked a room with a bath and got a shower). But the saving grace was the views from the hotel room window, stunning.

Myself, partner and friends stayed at Hotel Nes Dec 2017. We found the staff rude and unwelcoming, and they were also rude over the phone to us even before our trip. We was in room 102 and apart from the view, it was rubbish. The room was that small that the bed only just fit inside, there was no where at all to keep our suit cases, the bathroom was tiny, the tea/coffee didn’t get replenished, etc. The location of the hotel was perfect, but this was about the only good point.

Central location A short walk from Rembrandt Plain, very friendly staff. The rooms are not very clean and are small, plus the night you could hear the people talking in the neighboring rooms. For those who are content is good given the position.

Good place to stay & good location. Close to Rembrandt Square & only 5 minutes walk to Dam Square.

Where do the 3 * for this House come from?
Superior in this case seems to mean only the beautiful canal view.
Room very small and equipped with numerous quirks and uncleanliness. Everywhere dust, scratches in the TV screen, mold in the bathroom. Sink has a jump. No proper wardrobe, no night boxes. You don't know where to put the few things. Deafness without end. 400 Euro for 2 nights inclusive breakfast is in our opinion the pure usury! The highlight is the absolutely great central location in the middle of the action. There is a minimum star for this. You'd better invest somewhere else.

We recieved a very small room with just a very small window high up on the wall. The room was very worn out with dirt on the walls and the vanity unit had clear damages from water leakage. The drain in the shower was almost clogged (it was very slow). We kindly asked for an upgrade in the reception, but the hotel was fully booked so we had to stay there for the first night. For the second night, we were asked to pay if we would like to upgrade, and the room was better. In addition: Very noisy between the rooms, and you can hear what they are talking about in the neighbor room. The breakfast was not the best, and the staff asked us "Do I have to make an omelette today? ". All in all: Good location, but I would rather stay somewhere else next time.

A friendly reception and nice common room where a basic fine breakfast is served. But the reasonably clean room had a dated interior and several broken items and furniture in the bathroom. For the price quality I would not visit again.

The rooms were very clean. The hotel was centrally located and the staff was very helpful. The only downside is there is no parking on site. The hotel staff was able to direct us to a parking garage about 20 minutes away that charges $25 a night and then we had to walk back. I would definitely stay here again.

Watch up! The annex in this hotel has no elevator. Just a steeply falling stairway, real dangerous. Impossible for older people or if you have heavy bags. Breakfast not included. The location well but load screamings outside all of our nights.

Living in Amsterdam and still one of my favorite hotels. Always send my international friends over to this lovely place straight at one of the most beautiful canals of Amsterdam! Rooms are clean and staff is really helpful and nice!

Simple, basic accommodation with minimal fuss. Does what it says on the tin. Reasonably clean, well located.

It has a great location, the rooms are rather small but have everything you need. Pretty clean and the staff is always willing to help. Has an elevator, a fact very important in Amsterdam if we take into account the steep are the stairs in that city.

Wonderful location right on the canal, right in the middle of Amsterdam. The room and bathroom are small but clean and perfect for a short holiday in this beautiful city.

Very well located hotel. Polite staff. Fantastic views from the street side rooms, don't know how the rear rooms are. True the rooms are a little small and the bathrooms dated, but still I would rate this place for value and location highly. Flower Market and opera house 1 block away. So 5 stars.

My friend booked the superior room by accident but it was a great mistake because the room was better than my other friends tiny windowless room, ha! Decent hotel in a quiet area, I even chatted with local Dutch residents in the nearby bars. Always a good sign. A.

Very nice, comfortable and the central location is perfect, yet quiet to relax.

Great Hotel in the centre of Amsterdam, reasonable price, in a great location, 15 minutes walk from the train station.
By train from the airport it takes about 20 minutes and you take it with 5 euros, by taxi it takes 20/30 minutes according to traffic and 60 euros about.

Staff was very friendly. The rooms are very noisy. Not a quiet night.

For price it's just OK. … kettle in room but no coffee tea… apparently only in superior rooms, but come on how much would that cost to put in all rooms! I've been in some terrible hotels and even they have got tea and coffee.
The beds, well more my mum's. Spring broken, so she went to turn the mattress! It was so badly stained it was disgusting! Realised stains on both sides. In the morning spoke to reception who said the mattress were standard throughout! So badly stained throughout so said nothing they can do! So far found staff in helpful and not overly friendly. Took money gave card… done! Will not be returning and feel not great value for money.

Good location. But not more than 2 star value, because the rooms and bathrooms are tiny and shabby.

Hotel Aging! Certainly, small rooms, cramped water room due to the architecture of the building as many buildings in Amsterdam.
However, the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired and the general maintenance of the hotel dates a little (wallpaper torn, black traces on the walls, etc…)
Value for money too high.

Good location, you can walk to most of the most tourist places of Amsterdam, friendly staff but the cleanliness of the rooms should improve.

When I stayed at this hotel (Easter 2014) There were works in front of the entrance door, to apologize for the inconveniences they made me find in the room a bottle of water and chocolates. The room was clean and the staff very courteous. I would definitely stay at this property again.

+ good price — Bathroom layout is not logical. The shower is in front of the door, so no-one can use the room if someone is taking a shower, if you get out of the room the whole room will get wet. — On the site it stated the room had a bath which it didn't. — Wi-Fi is only free for one hour and only at the ground floor.
