Great location canal house. We’ve had a great time here. Everything within touching distance.

No elevators only steep stairs, cleaning staff forgot to refill bar and not the cleanest. However fair price and friendly service.

The stairs are so narrow it's something out of Alice and Wonderland.

Very interesting building! Friendly and helpful staff! Quiet, despite being situated on a very busy street.

Nice hotel. Old and historical building. Modern and comfortable Habotaciones. But it's crooked. That gives a little bit of a strange feeling of dizziness in the superior rooms. And also the staircase is very narrow because it is old. There's no elevator. It gets complicated with a lot of baggage. But excellent location.

Great little hotel. Staff is very kind and attentive. Room was clean. Beds were comfortable, but the pillows a little big for my taste. Excellent location, close to plenty of restaurants and the tram stop.

The hotel is in a great location to visit all the attractions of the city (15 minutes walk from the station). Clean room with every comfort, recommended for short stays.

Nice hotel in the centre of Amsterdam, steep staircase literally, comfortable room, no pretensions. The hotel is not able to order breakfast, but give a 10% discount in a cafe nearby.

Sloping floors, steep staircases and nice furnishings. We stayed in room 203 with a front view on the 2nd floor and had a great time. Big room, big bed and a great shower. In a great location, adjoining the nightlife of Rembrandtsplein area (1 minute), and about 5 minutes walk from the Metro Station, Waterlooplein. All for the same price as a Holiday Inn. I will see whether I can get back here next time I am in Amsterdam.

Perfect hotel in the centre of Amsterdam. Excellent value for money, staff very friendly and polite. The council room with river view on the first floor.

Location could not have been better, in and around everything and the canal views from our room were fantastic. The infamous staircase will 100% give you some entertainment on each journey but is to be expected almost everywhere in Amsterdam. Staff were great so would stay again.

Hotel Amstelzicht is a great place to stay. I keep coming back.

No elevator, stairs are spiral very small, not recommended with large luggage, not good to get up and down.
The room is not air-conditioned and can only be used with a small electric fan or open window. The network advertises the RiverView Hotel, but can't see the river…

Very central Hotel, just a step from the flower market and the rooms are spacious, the main façade overlooking the canal of the Amstel.

Excellent location. Clean. Comfortable bed. Staff very friendly and helpful. Missing breakfast only or at least a small bar. In return there is a Starbucks just 70 metres away.

Great location. Easy to get around city. Friendly staffs. Wifi good. Accept very deep narrow stairs. You can't imagine when you claim up with traveling luggage. I really mean claim not "steps".

Great location but room could've been better for the price — missing shower door upon arrival and our room faced an inner courtyard which was loud at times (garbage receptacles were there and back of a restaurant/bar).

You do not have a cafeteria, the stairs a little awkward. For the rest, well located, the rooms good and the staff friendly. Come back.

Well, it is that time of year again, and I am sad to say that this is the first year in four that we will not being staying at Hotel Amstelzicht for Amsterdam Pride. The three years we did stay with them were amazing and we will be back in August 2017. Robert and the staff have always been amazing and have helped us in many ways. We look forward to staying with you all again and hope this weekend is great!

Perfect location, room and beds great. By putting a but, the light is a bit low. The service very attentive. In short, I would repeat without hesitation.

Deception and rudeness. The hotel cheats the guests when making a prepayment with a credit card. The hotel charges money in the national currency of the guest irrespective of the currency of the card. As a result, if your account is in euros (which is natural for many tourists), you will be charged a fee for conversion to your Bank, and to the Bank of the hotel. Attempts to resolve the situation before the arrival through the Bank and Booking were not successful — the hotel said that this method of payment is "cheaper" for me because "if the charge would be in euros there will be an extra charge from the bank, for a few different charges, like overseas payment, bank charges, etc. "! The most senseless lie I've ever heard of. And when I arrived at the hotel (at 10 pm, with my doughter), I was forced to sign a receipt, which stated that "Cardholder has chosen to pay in rubles. " The receptionist told me that if I do not sign, I won't get a room! Later the Hotel Manager said that I had a choice — I could had not arrived at their hotel! This is not an unique case — the receptionist showed me receipts of other guests with the same situation. Thus, the only explanation is collusion of the hotel and the Bank, with the aim to shift the charges on to the guests. The first time I faced such a gross deception of guests.

Pleasant and welcoming staff. Clean room with view over the Amstel. However the stairs too red surtt when you're red… and the bed too soft.

Very narrow stairs and difficult to move bags. No air-conditioning, no 24-h reception but friendly staff nonetheless. Great location to walk anywhere within 20-25 mins, would not stay here again though.

This hotel completely ruined my family’s trip to Amsterdam. My poor experience on March 24th, 2015 began at checkin with a hostile receptionists who made it abundantly clear that she could care less about being there. Rooms were not prepared on time, so the crowded reception area was packed with crying children who were unable to go to their rooms because the hotel had not cleaned them. There were other small matters, but we decided to brush them off as just poor service, check-in to the room, and explore the city. That’s what we wanted to do, so a receptionist looking to cut corners about quality customer service by being curt wasn’t going to ruin our day. When my wife, our 2 month old infant, 2 year old daughter, stroller and bags were led outside and through an alley to our “apartment”, the unwelcoming receptionist unlocked there door (which wouldn’t open all the way because the cleaners refused to move their cleaning supplies) and said “there you go”. The problem was our room was on the 2nd floor, which involved going up two flights of stairs. This would normally have been no problem, but the stairs were nearly straight up and down and our stroller would not fit through the door, plus we had luggage in tow. What we shared with the receptionist was that I had business the entire next day — from very early until very late — which meant my wife would be left alone with our children.

The Hotel Amstelzicht is a charming small hotel. The hotel entrance is quite modern, but don’t be misled. Unfortunately, the rooms do not have the same décor. The hotel has no elevator and the stairs are really steep (if you have mobility problems, think twice). But again, this should be a problem with most hotels in Amsterdam. They call this “Amsterdam stairs” for a reason. The room is quite simple. Nothing luxury, but acceptable. It’s near the flower market and only 5-10 minutes from the center. A good option for price-location. Ask for the map in the reception. They have a really good map of Amsterdam which is really helpful.

I will begin by extending my thanks to the staff and Robert who were welcoming and accommodating of their guests. The hotel is situated in the centre of the city and literally 2 minutes walk from the shops and bars/nightlife. Yet the river view location offers a silent night sleep in a well furnished room with ensuite bathroom and modern conveniences. For the moderate price per night, this is the best deal and ideal value for money. What stands out the most is the good balance between professionalism and relaxed characteristics of the hotel and staff. I recommend staying at Amstelzicht hotel, 9/10

If you just want a room to sleep and you're travelling with friends. Great place to stay if you want to party. If you're with your family, maybe not so much. Studio 80 is a club and is right next door. You'll hear bass well past midnight. Service was ok, towels weren't changed everyday (eww), but they did clean and straighten up the place. The hotel is in walking distance to everything. Not too hard to find either if you're walking. I stayed with two friends and we had a blast! Stayed May 2014.

This hotel is quite cheap for Amsterdam standards. The hotel room was large and very stylish with heavy, old furniture. Almost reminds a room from a castle.
It is ruck Zuck in the Centre of Amsterdam and has a 1A at the hotel service.

We rented one of the canal view apartments for three nights, Monday to Wednesday. We left after one night, as the music from the club directly below was loud enough to prevent sleep, and didn't stop until 3am. They did offer to move us to a different room, but we'd had enough — and not convinced it would have been any different. The receptionist said that they had tried repeatedly to get the nightclub to calm down, but with no effect. My issue is that they still let the room to a family knowing what it would be like. Bear in mind that they take full payment from you up front and won't refund, so if you find it problematic you're stuck. Other than that the accommodation was OK. Maintenance and housekeeping weren't on top of things — not dreadful, but multiple minor issues e. G. Not enough towels, towel rail designed to deposit stuff on the floor wet from the leaky shower, inventory not complete (tea towel, dishwasher tablets), toilet flush broken, etc. I wouldn't recommend it. For the money, there are better places. As we found.

Excellent Hotel! Very clean, Wi-Fi-capable, close to many tourist attractions, definitely a great hotel to stay at.
