The hostel is not bad. What a price and service. At night there were many screams from the street. There is no air conditioning in the room and it was very stuffy. But it's okay to spend two nights. Lockers for storing things without a lock. At the reception for the castle you have to pay extra (the money is returned on the day of departure).

My friend and I stayed in a private double room here but it was so bad, we stayed only one night instead of the two nights we had reserved. The worst part about the room, in addition to its small size and questionable cleanliness (which can be ignored), was the fact that there was no air conditioner. I have stayed in hotels and hostels where there was no air conditioning but those rooms had at least some sort of ventilation or ability to cool the room down by opening a window. The room we stayed in was on the fifth floor (which you had to take the stairs the reach as the elevator does not go up there; difficult to do with luggage) and was significantly warmer than the fourth floor. It was possible to open the window, but the window opened to a balcony which many other rooms shared. Although this is not the hotel’s fault necessarily, our neighbors were inconsiderate and sat outside on the balcony, chain smoking without stopping from 10 pm to 10 am. If our window was open, all the smoke would go straight into our room, which was already very stuffy, making it impossible to sleep. But it was also impossible to sleep with the window closed, since the air circulation is nonexistent. Basically, it was miserable. It was also unsafe since we were two girls and our neighbors were men drinking beers and smoking, who sat right outside our window and could easily step (not climb, just step) into our room through the open window.

Good location. The price/quality is well correlated. Great location, but noisy in the corridors and the door does not save.

Many 4 star hotels are cheaper with checkout time at 12.00! @A&O. 22 may. Thanks for your explanation. So with an additional charge of € 10 you can check out later. That means another € 10 on the room rate who was already very high! And the guest must know this or be told. In any case, it's not clearly stated. A standard check-out time of 12.00 is much more customer-friendly. As far as your high price is in correlation with the hotel room availability in Cologne, your response amazed me. A 2 star hotel that then rises its prices (above) 4 star hotels! While 4 star hotels like Astor, Appartel am Dom etc. Don't increase their prices, weeks in advance! That looks like I. M. O. Abusing. Hopefully, potential guests read this review!

Super nice, young staff, the en suite rooms were clean and the parking was worth the extra charge. You can walk fast in the city centre and at the cathedral. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast offer, but I suspect it's similarly good and versatile as in other A & O's. I would come back anytime and recommend it to young people and families!

Great price, nice staff and clean rooms! To recommend to everyone…

It's the last one! The rooms are clean but that's all there is to it. Breakfast did not deserve the name. I wanted to take a slice of bread with a lining to get a nice breakfast. When I left the breakfast room, I was taken away. For €70 the night, it was not a mass, this is not acceptable.
It's even more awesome. The manager treated me at the front desk like one of his employees, not like a guest. A miracle he didn't want to excuse me because I was dissatisfied.
For me in any case "never again" and I can only warn any "normal paying".

Great for this price!
I have got a quadruple room for compared to very little money in this hostel. My expectations were not so great, but the room was at least average. Each room member gets access to the room, hot water was also really warm and the beds were not uncomfortable, everything one expected for the price was there.
The room was really good for the price, so I definitely can recommend it for the little purse!

Just the thing for a stag party. Had a 4 bed room. Great price.
Everything was fine and clean.

Were a weekend there. Nothing upscale but more like a youth hostel, but should not mean that it was bad. It was all clean and there was nothing to complain about.
My conclusion: perfect for a trip!

So far we were all excited.
The cleanliness leaves something to be desired. The staff were very nice. Unfortunately not all German-speaking. Had a question at breakfast the staff where we were responsible for breakfast unfortunately did not understand us at all.
The room was a bit small for us. Otherwise we would book this hotel again at any time:)

I was waiting for a better property. The single room was too small glumy and tight, without even a refrigerator. The price for this room about 120$ was not fair. The picturs in booking website is not always real. The location is exactly beside railroad. Staff were freindly.

The A & O hostel is a nice place for a few nights. The staff are friendly and helpful. This accommodation has many rooms and you can book a room spontaneously. Hygiene is also available. For more information about equipment or other, the site would be ideal. From my point of view, recommended.

Room very clean but no snack contrary to what is noted and the pressure of the showers is almost nil.

This A&O is located perfectly and is quite cheap. But be aware: This isn't a hostel at all, but a cheap hotel in which they charge you for bedlinen, towels, breakfast and want a deposit if you want to make use of the kitchen, playing cards, other extra facilities. The atmosphere is like they are running a business or a hotel and you won't find the easy-going travellers here. When I was there the kitchen was burned down and there weren't any alternatives so I had to eat outdoors every day. Also my room was filled with beer bottles and the bathroom was not cleaned and looked disgusting. So if you stay in Köln, pay a little more and try to find a hostel, airbnb or go for a free couchsurfaddress, so you'll enjoy your stay more.

Nice hostel! Liked the rooms. They help us really great with our group. Everyone from the group had different arrival times but could just check in and get their cardkey themselves. We slept far apart but that was not a problem for us, pretty sure you could have requested closer rooms if you wanted to. The parking garage was pretty strange, with a steep entrance, but secure. Protip for hitchhikers hide your cartons; the cleaning ladies stole ours ;).

The room was quite large. The bathroom could have been a bit more spacious. Free Internet was available. The breakfast was also delicious. The room was clean and the breakfast was very good.

To sleep, a shower and follow. Not more than that.

Very good hostel, friendly stuff, good breakfast, good to access by public transportation, not far to the city. Definitely will come back and check availability on next Cologne visit!

Mixed between good service and some signs of racism.

The hostel rooms I do not find comfortable at all and have rebooked in a single room. Positively, the reception is always busy. The accommodation is also inexpensive. Generally, the hotel makes a clean impression.

We stayed at the hotel me and my partner for 5 nights (from 31 January to 5 February). The truth is that we were afraid because of the reviews that we had read, mo, however we atendendieron very well, the guy was very friendly. The rooms are spectacular, clean, spacious… We enjoyed it very much. In addition the location is very good, although not in the city centre, this close to three stops different faith transpotra public. If we returned to Cologne, would go.

Very nice staff, rooms are clean. Advantage of toilet and shower in two separate rooms. Breakfast is OK. Also suitable for families. Central location, two kilometres to the Duomo.

Walking distance from the train station, simple, clean furnishings. For a city trip (3-4days) is quite sufficient if you do not expect great comfort. Bathroom/toilet were also clean and functional, for corpulent people it could be a bit cramped. Still a few curtains under the blinds would be great, otherwise it looks very dark in the room. All in all for the price perfectly OK, we were satisfied.

Good place to stay. It's well placed but 20 minutes away from the bridge. Really clean rooms and areas. Also they have a lot of launch ares with chairs and tables. I would just say that they turned on the temperature a little bit too much during the night. I know it's winter but come on.

Was not the first A and O hostel I visited. Was always satisfied.
A bit noisy and ruthless guests this time, but the staff can do nothing. The breakfast was very good. Friendly.
15 Euro Parking Fees I find totally outrageous, as you are almost forced to park in the hotel's own parking garage.

Big place with many rooms, nice clean affordable, but note that you HAVE TO PAY FOR LINEN (still affordable). Staff were nice and they have Pool and Foosball table as well as a simple bar and a sports channel at the lobby.

Families fair prices.
Family room was very good.
Breakfast was good.
We were pleased.

Still, the curtains could be mended a bit. In my case, the A & O sign was very close to my hotel window, after which it seemed despite the curtain. This hindered my sleep a little bit.

All in all, very commendable for the price and always happy to recommend it!

Everything was coherent. Clean rooms, nice staff, sufficient breakfast, very good value for money. You can book and recommend at any time!

A good hotel in itself. Car stands safe, breakfast was also plentiful for the price. The only thing I didn't like was that the mattresses were already lying through and sleeping in it wasn't pleasant. And the TV was broken.
But I was otherwise satisfied and would book a room there again.

I would not recommend anyone to sleep in this establishment unless you risk being out… Uncomfortable bed alarm clock with body aches… It bears its name well AOoooo especially in the morning… Thing to know if you are driving… The room for 2 person costs 58Euro while parking and 50euro…

Good place to spend the night.

Friendly and helpful staff at every request of the customer. The area is quiet and strategic, in the heart of the "Mauritiusviertel", close to Neumarkt, Rudolfplatz and Zülpicher Platz.

In comparison to other A&O Hotels, A&O Köln Neumarkt. Sure, you may not have a big claim, but for a city trip for a weekend sufficient. Largely clean and quiet. Little bit warm, because you could tilt the window only and the water pressure in the shower could have been a bit better. Would book here again.

Low price, high quality. Don't expect luxury, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. There's plenty of snacks and drinks available and breakfast is an option as well. Aside from that, the location is very convenient, right around the corner of the city center.

Not a bad sleep. Had everything a hostel should. Lockers, washrooms. Everything was well kept. Clean toilets and even gave me clean sheets and blanket after each sleep. The workers seemed a rather grumpy. But not rude so no complaints. Very easy to get to the tram and the buss stop. And 25 minute ealk into the city. The people staying here were quite dull, but that was probably jsut bad luck on my part. Overall its a half decent place to stay and dose not hurt the pocket to badly. Some more outlets in the room would be very sufficient.

The children were locoooos in the hallways, and they did not give us peace. Also I did not like the mattresses.

If the reason for the visit is to go to the fair, it is spectacular, comfortable and a jump in youth… Two star Hotel hostel. A nice reality bath.

Okay for the price, cheap hotel. Big rooms. Room was clean beds are okay for a few nights. Breakfast okay but also lots of bakeries in the area so you don't really need it. Area is great place to start your trip in Cologne. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby.

How; wide and full in services. Good rooms with their own bathroom. You are missing a point the cleaning service. For the rest of it. Very well.

I have been robbed of my luggage in the reception while talking with clerk to get a bed on 03.03.15 inside the hostel. The clerk was rude and said to me it wasn't important since nobody died. At 11. P. M when I came to register the two security guards been eating their dinner in the kitchen. No security at all. I lost all my personal belongings, no place offered to stay during this night. A nightmare and horrible experience. Pls. Be careful in this hostel. I lost a quite good amount of money and still recover.

The A & O Cologne Neumarkt is a hostel, it should not be greater expectations. For a hostel it makes his thing but very good. Friendly staff at the reception, which directly booked to a faulty toilet flushing in a double room in a new double room. Double room with bath was clean. To book breakfast at the reception was not a problem.
Negative notice have jediglich minor things. The two curtains on the window had different lengths and darkened adequately. The payment of the brands of breakfast at the breakfast staff seems not really to be regulated. The window on the 5th floor were not locked, so that an entry of the roof and therefore a boarding room with tilted Windows would be possible. Perhaps this was intended and as an emergency exit. I had not informed me. The coffee at breakfast comes from a large container of coffee, there was often set in the Cup. The aspect ratio of the TV was not correctly set, but even to resolve.
The city was easy to reach from the station (5 minutes walk) Rudolfplatz.

The staff are friendly.
Except that a constantly have to say something I can't. Wi-Fi isn't, this machine is unfortunately working condition and so on.
Also, the bed linen is very spotty and the rooms very small.
In the bathroom you can just so standing!
Breakfast and dinner is very little choice and not very tasty.

The rooms in the hotel are enough not very big, but for a time.
The hotel is well located and is close to the city.
I find the possibility of late check out good on the weekend.
Over breakfast, I can say nothing because we book the never and have breakfast in the city.

Die Security hat sehr langdam gearbeitet.

Rooms were good and clean, but the food was sometimes not up to standard. For example, last night the wedges were not warm and some said their were even cold.

The hotel is very very nice. Breakfast also bit little and dinner. Rooms are well furnished. The negative is the security man is he so aggressively only, because we had the TV on at night to 1: 30, he stormed the room and made rampage. Staff very friendly.

It was a decent experience, it was not amazing but the rooms were clean and neat (and small). If you're looking for a cheap option to sleep, I can recommend it.

The breakfast was great and the bedroom was pretty good but the bathroom was to small.

I've booked two bed in a female dormitory together with a friend for each €17 + €15 parking garage.
The Lady at the desk when we checked in was learned in grade, was very nice. Later in the day, employees behind the counter who was rather rude and unmotivated sat in others.
The room not to cozy is the location, the mattresses, bedding dirty, the elevator could be heard very loudly and the bunk beds were only at the slightest movement. For a night, to survive, but I was in Frankfurt in the A & O and there it was cosy and attractive a lot!
I can now only for the one room talk, but again in Cologne give I prefer more money out than to sleep here again.
One of the few good things was the location, not too much in the city center but also not too far away from the U — and S-Bahn, as well as by the ring.

The 3rd bed, one of the bunkeds, was not made and the provided bedsheet was too small. Had to get a new over from reception and make it myself. Otherwise the stay was as expected for a hostel.

Overpriced dump with comically rude employees. Sheets were extra to rent, but at least the giant brown stain on the duvet was included for free.

From the receptionist, Ms. Krengel, I was at the 3.2.16 the use of the toilet as Nichtgast refused, despite my offer of a fee to entichten. A company that, apparently, such as instructions to personnel issues, I can not recommend it. There I would not want to live. They are therefore not to be recommended…

Köln neumarkt, zentral gelegen, Familienzimmer, etwas eng mit babybett, Service war gut.

Was okay, only the W-Lan connection was not so brickelnd. Otherwise I could spontaneously book & check in. Would come back here again.

The guest rooms and Breakfast for the price completely ok to set up. The cleanliness there is not to fault. A small defect in the waschbeckenabfluss was immediately by a janitor fixed. The Negative is the staff. Quite young, unmotivated to arogant acting staff make the guests very unprofessional. Concerns are only unfriendly to reluctantly processed. After a long Watch in several days, then fell in the evening, but the sticky counter, behind the long time ungespülte Gläserlange time were, even though hardly anything was going on. Also with glass-filled bucket emptied for a long time not alone. The slot machines are all defective. If I could I would have no star! We have 119. — Euro for a double room and paid for a night of 31.8 — 01.09 and there was not even a Breakfast incl.! The room was clean (apart from the painted walls, etc) but at this price, then a surcharge for the Breakfast buffet is really amazing. Sorry, your Hotel is I would never recommend it. That was more of a youth hostel and never in the life of this money value. Never again.

We had as a family of 4, a family room booked and, of course, no luxury accommodation is expected. On site, we had to find that the Parking situation it was catastrophic, hand-picked Parking spaces around the Hotel are to a maximum of 4 hours Parking time limited — at an impressive fee of€ 3 per hour. In the Hotel told us that the Parking garage was fully booked. The money for the room was immediately cashed. In the room arrived we had to notice that only two of the beds with bed linen. Back at the reception, not a word of regret by the employee, only the demand, because if we no bedding in the room would have found. As we answered in the negative was us towels pressed into his Hand — that was it. When you Refer to the beds, we experienced a first impression of the olfactory nocturnal pleasures. At least in one of the bunk beds had been someone intensely into it urinates. Delicious… In addition to rust on the bunk beds we enjoyed intense Schimmelgeruch in the toilet and a superwinziges bathroom. Overall, the room was so narrow that you can hardly couple to each other vorbeiquetschen could — as a family room is not really suitable, especially if you have also to match with Luggage is equipped. Lamentable and surreal experience at this hostel. I arrived on a Saturday night with my hostelworld booking, there was a young guy with a huge nose ring that told me the booking is canceled. For what reason is canceled? "I do not know" Who has canceled it? "I don't know, I can´t help you". Incredible but true. I showed him my copy of booking, he spoke to me like I was a 20 years old boy like him and told me until Monday no one can clarify me anything. Is this hospitality? … Be careful about booking at this hostel, or you can end looking for another acommodation in the middle of a cold night.

Clean dorms and a fast Wi-Fi connection. Good value for your money!
