You will enjoy going to Tortuguero and see turtles laying eggs. Good accommodation guaranteed. The trip there by boat is an unforgettable experience.
The volcanoes Irazu, Poas, Arenal are worth a visit and if you like the sea, go to Marriot Hotel on the Pacific, Jaco also a good place for relaxing. Don’t forget Hotel TIOGA in Puntarenas.
Good service at airports Juan Santamaría and the other one in Liberia. From there you can go to many Holiday Resorts on the Pacific and Atlantic coasts.

Costa Rica is a great place to visit. Beautiful beaches, friendly people. One word of caution, be careful in San Jose. Taxis know you are not familiar with the country or the city and will literally take you for a ride. Best bet is to call Uber. I always take them. You are told ahead of time what the charge will be.

Rolled in with reservations but something was wrong (? ) and ended up with a room upgrade (bigger bed, our own bathroom). Nice room, very nice staff, great coffee on all day and a quaint comfortable lounge to enjoy it in. My only complaint is the racket from across the street (the Hostel? ) but that finished by 2300. Not too much street noise, and the bed was comfortable. Next morning a simple but decent meal of eggs, toast and marmelade. Recommended.

I travelled with Caravan group and was amazed by the beauty of nature. Volcanos, forests, rainforest, beautiful flowers, magnificent birds, thousands of butterflies, iguanas, red crabs, sloths, monkeys, crocodiles and white cows. Costa Rica is a very interesting country. But it also has the dark side of poverty, people surrounding their homes with iron bars and barb wires. People have no infrastructure, roof made of corregated metal and schools that are too far for kids to walk to. Basically a country with no middle class. If there is a middle class it is only in the city like San Jose. Even though Costa Rica is very expensive I would encourage americans to visit for its beauty and in order to help the people of Costa Rica. Stop flying to Europe, Costa Rica is better.

I picked this hotel after Orbitz let me book a room at a hostel that no longer exists… so I was expecting something lack-luster. For the price this hotel exceeds my expectations! All the staff was very friendly and spoke good English as well as at least French, if not more. My room was very spacious and I loved that it had its own bathroom and patio. You can buy very inexpensive drinks at the bar/reception. There is also a gated parking lot which is great because I had a rental car while there. Very walkable to downtown San Jose. Also has a nice little made-to-order breakfast. I loved it and would definitely stay again next time in San Jose!

In the heart of the city and close to everything is this hotel. It Is in a very quiet street which allows you to rest. Very clean and comfortable. It Has Excellent location and value for money.

There are BED BUGS. Stayed 3 nights and itching started on second day. I thought it was mosquito bite but it's still itchy even after my stay. Property is generally clean but it seems very old and needs some renovation. Front staffs didn't really understand English. Well they're open 24 hours anyways. And the airport shuttle is too expensive. $27 for one ride but if u take uber, it's not even $20.

The staff is passive and apparently listless. The rooms are very old and need a nice renovation. At night you hear the disco and in the morning the traffic. The breakfast is organized in a very chaotic and slow. If one is in a hurry it is not necessary because you have to wait for your turn. It works like this: close to the desk there is a list with the breakfast dish that you want. You communicate it to the porter listless and he passes the order in the kitchen. After half an hour you get the pot. Many guests do not understand how it works because they are not explained and then wait an hour there waiting for a damn thing. The only good note is the room price.

If you go to Costa Rica you have to go to San Teresa Beach. Was there for 2 weeks and it's this amazing small beach town that has amazing surfing, secluded beaches, and the best sunsets you've ever seen! Place is conviently located and good bang for your buck. I used my frequent flyer miles to pay for 3 out of 4 nights that I stayed. Friendly staff, comfortable beds, clean all the way around! Water for those cool morning showers could of been warmer! Lots of bars in the surrounding areas. Museums and shopping areas close by. Highly recommended!

Poorly insulated (very bad in this very windy area), rather dirty trend of the room (cover bed with traces hostensibles, Halo on the ceiling) little functional (no bedside lamp no table no storage no trash no sink), bathroom Very old but clean, nice but low quality… is nothing ecological, and economic side we must be able to find much better at this rate.

Nice hotel — spacious rooms and not to far from a lot of museums. Also, there is a cinema next door which is nice if you are into that. :)

Consistently good service at the front desk and at the rest of the building. (We have been coming there for a number of years and also took a group there that had a positive experience with this accommodation). Breakfast is served in the large lobby and it's abundant. Free coffee, tea & goodies all day (Coffee tables are not so handy to use at breakfast, however). Great location, walking distance to downtown. Nearby cozzy coffee house & restaurant that serves conscious, interesting lunchs at affordable price. Also a general & hindu cuisine restaurant at about 100m distance is good for lunch or supper. Internet connection is very good (it has boosters around the building) An occassional trolley-train running the bell when passing nearby is not impressive but one gets used to it. Hotel Taxi services to and from the accommodation to the airport are reliable and fair in price. Some rooms do not have proper tables or support for luggage. Some downstairs rooms could get some noise from the upper ones. Nonetheless, two small patios with nice plants, table & chairs are a plus! Recommended.

The hotel is in a great location. Practically next to the Gold Museum and the National Museum.

A nice hostel with plenty of different types of room options. Good value. The Wi-Fi is really good and the free breakfast in the morning is good (your pic of meal options of pinto, eggs, toast, fruit, coffee, tea).

Reasonably priced. It had a great lounge to hang out in and chill which felt very homely. Good breakfast although nothing spectacular. Great for an over night stay in San Jose in a safe part of town.

The facilities and everything is good enough. Only the service here is horrible, be careful with Roman and Alexandre. They sold me a tour and some activities in the tour were not included, at the end they didn't solve me anything and it seemed kind of robbed us; because they didn't want to give us a solution.

Our favorite place to stay in San Jose, some of the rooms we've had are really big, some with big bathrooms and huge showers. Clean, quiet, really nice staff, especially David at the front desk, nice free breakfast with lots of choice, dependable shower pressure and hot water, yay. Good location and walking distance to some nice restaurants and the main Avenue.

Racist. Not safe for black travelers. They're not treated with respect!

The bed was big but the mattress not so good, no hot water in the night and our room was far away from Wi-Fi. Was perfect for one night.

Nice rooms, good breakfast. Free coffee (with actual milk not powder). We totally liked it.

Love it so much but I did have a roach in my room last time I was there. The street that's it on is pretty dirty though.

Location fair, spacious rooms, more than one lobby area and a secluded TV room, two great small patios to sit, service varies according to front desk operator but it's fair, rooms could be old or renovated but most are spacious with large bathrooms but, in two of the rooms, "deficient" electric hot shower system. Cleaning needs improvement. Good price and safe accommodation (safe controlled entry to hotel operated by front desk)

If they only had a pool, but then it wouldn't be anywhere near the price. Excellent location, great staff, comfy bed, silky sheets. I don't know you can beat the place for value. Great resources within walking distance. Calle 21 is full of bars that locals hang at. The guesthouse had a real hostel vibe to it but with private rooms. I felt that my belongings were very safe there.

Large, clean but empty rooms, large beds, one chair. Free internet. Poor breakfast: two pieces of toast, unless you pay for extra's. No swimmingpool available: not in the hotel, not in the neighbourhood.
