Nice spacious room, clean and bed very comfortable. Courteous Service. For snowmobilers, there is a secure area, enclosed fencing and block for snowmobiles.

Plenty of parking. Ample amenities. Great value.

Staff was very pleasant and friendly… hotel old, and in disrepair. Windows boarded up and door nailed shut to outside walkway that was crumbling. A\C quit so were moved to a small room w/ double beds instead of queen size and no windows at all A/C barely worked. 30 degrees in room. Outlets did't have covers in some cases, patched ceiling… old and falling apart. On the most part clean, but definitely not worth what we paid! Looks nice on outside but it's a dive inside. Don't book here!

Hotel had late check in which was great for our family as we arrived in the evening. They also had a boston pizza which you can access directly through the hotel. The room was very clean. They had a pool and two hot tubs. We do not speak french but every employee we interacted with spoke English and were very friendly.

Very nice hotel cozy rooms and very clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful and courteous. The price is reasonable considering the pool and other amenities.

We were asked to phone when we were close to the hotel, to see if the room was ready, as we were on a tight timeline. However, we were put on hold for over 20 minutes and then the phone was cut. This happened twice. On arrival we found we had to pay for the room BEFORE we were allowed in. This has never been the practice at any other hotel we have stayed at. They also ask for $100 deposit, far higher than better hotels. The pool is supposed to be heated, yet is cold and there are NO depth markings around the edges. Also if you are disabled, as my wife is, there are no staff present, in case of anyone having difficulty. Despite it being a NON-SMOKING Hotel, there was a strong smell of cigarettes in the corridor, despite telling the front desk, nothing was done.

It's a good hotel. Employees are courteous. If you are in a room on the side of the pool, you have a balcony. On the other hand, expect to be woken up between 8am and 9am by the people who are in the pool. In the room, it was nice. Beautiful furniture with enough space. Wireless is present. It has room for improvement, correcting defects on the walls and performing the maintenance of the bathrooms (minor). That said I liked the place and place where it was located. Thank you.

Good quality, has theatre, gym, bar, restaurant and spa in the centre. It's also downtown with free parking so very convenient.

Hotel staff was nice but we had to wait an hour for our rooms before they were ready, until about 5:15pm. Half an hour in we were told our rooms were ready but went up and saw it was not. The 'Spa" is supposed to be 17+ years of age but was filled with children running about. Relaxing in a hot tub was rather difficult when being stepped on and splashed. Our rooms shower was also incredibly sensitive to temperature where one slight wrong true would leave you being sprayed with scorching hot water. This applied to the sink and shower. And the soaps there were pretty useless too. Beds were nice but pillows felt essentially hollow. Wi-Fi was also rather slow.

Clean room, price too high… (were boosted because of the G7… But they're not the only ones. Swimming pool which is barred at 22:00… would have liked closure a little later to be able to benefit from the facilities. Coffee machine out of use at breakfast time…

My experience was quite poor. The hotel needs a good sprucing up and needs to incorporate sound insolation between rooms. I was woken up by a normal volume conversation in the room next door at about 2:30AM. At about 2:45 I realized this would go on for a bit and transferred rooms (reception originally made it seem there were no other rooms). I should also note their room fridges make a lot of noise. I was sadly not really able to get back to sleep afterwards. In the morning I noticed the sink was cracked in my new room. On the plus side, from my brief one night stay, I think they take room cleanliness seriously. I doubt I would stay here again due to the lack of sound insulation.

Very nice, the places are clean and the rooms are beautiful. I really like the indoor pool area. Really cool with the spa and sauna.

Really disappointed! Not at all like the pictures on the internet! I arrived and the garbage in the bathroom (which is said to be very small) were not emptied. I was forced to unplug the heater because the buttons on it didn't work so either you freeze or you overheat. The beds are poorly made and the furniture up to the lights in the hallway is damaged. It's also very poorly soundproof.
I come to talk to the counter the guy looks completely lost y wonder if it suits me if he simply emptied the trash and I said no I would like to change my sheets because if the trash is not emptied there is nothing that proves to me that the sheet s have been changed. From there, everything looked complicated. Everything about the money transactions that followed was complicated. There my refund not the right amount, it had not how to manage are refund and so on. Last time I get close to it and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Room not ready when we arrive (16:00). Access card for entry into the defective room. Mineral wool in the door framing, surely for blocked the cold air that enters. Tapestry that decole of the wall and bad soundproofing we got woken up a few times by go and come in the hallway. A $127 that was worth a lot less, very disappointed. I don't advise the Universal hotel.

Nice view of the rooms. Modern rooms and restaurant plus cinema in the hotel makes the stay enjoyable when the weather outside is rainy.

Seen on the Internet, it may seem ordinary, but once in linterieur it's much more beautiful than we think. Very beautiful atrium integrated with swimming pools and whirlpool with tropical birds that enjoy the climate! Very comfortable and clean rooms. Of quality.

Average to poor experience. We had a very nice family get away in Quebec city. The city and holiday was great, but the hotel was not so good. We had a deluxe room and even so the plumbing was cheap, toilet was constantly leaking and the sound was bothering us the whole night. The hot/ cold water was changing while showering. Sound was proofing insufficient. Anyone walking or talking in the hallway was echoing very loudly. The pool looks very nice but was very small and was too crowded. Breakfast was included only for one night. They also made mistakes on our booking for bora park and the manager who was the only person allowed to resolve our issues was only present part of the time after 10am which is when we were away. Wouldn't recommend.

Worse hotel ever seen in my life! Check in at 4 pm (though most of hotels are at 2pm), but room is still not ready, unbelievble! We arrived at 3:45 they asked us to wait till 4, and then at4:10 they send us to room with out have confirmation to see if the room is ready or not! We waited till 4:20 in front of the room looking staff who were so relaxe taking their time to continue cleaning the room! They argue just infront of us why they send us upstairs…! They said: Why they send you up to this room while other rooms are ready! The coorider full of cleaning stuff left from their staff! Imagine how you feel, when you are pregnant, tired from long road trip and need to just sit down and relaxe! Pool is so dirty their sauna didn't work …! Water was cold! Don't waste your time and money if you are looking for some place even for 1 night! Room is in front of staff room and they talked so loud, while their door is open for a long time, with out just thinking that guest are sleeping or resting in their room! How ignorant can be…! Wifi is so bad! Signal is so poor! We had a room for 4 people but the Wi-Fi code worked only for 2 people! Limited just for 2 people! Never seen such cheap service in my life! Worst organisation between staff, every time you need to see reception you have to wait 15 minutes at least! If you don't have enough staff during vacation don't accept more than your capability! They just ruined my vacation! Never came back!

Room 213… Plaster powder all over the bathroom. Dirty bath and drain ineffective. No window! No air exchanger! It is said that it is a king bed… It was not as long as my queen bed.

Very well located Hotel near shopping center in Ste-Foy. 15-20 mins to Vieux Québec. Good food and service at the Boston Pizza connected to the Hotel. Kids enjoyed the interior pool and Tub. Comfy beds and Budget price. We will stay there gain.

It's a nice room. The spa was not clean there was a large brown ring around. Equip yourself with a washer and dryer. Not very practical for snowmobilers…

The pool area is very nice. On the other hand, during our visit, there was a lot of rubbish in the atrium (garbage cans overflowing). When we arrived, the room was not ready, we had to wait almost 2 hours to get access to our room. The room was clean and comfortable. There are good promotions for low priced rooms. Within walking distance of the Albert-Rousseau room.

Hello, we are customers of the Universal hotel for several years is right 1 has 3 times a year and we were always satisfied except the last time in January and we were very disappointed. But after giving our comments at the reception, we are pleasantly surprised at the follow up of my complaint. And for this reason I would like to thank the management of the hotel who made sure that we are satisfied.
We're going to come back.

Good rooms and nice service.

Everything was great! We slept at this Hotel 2 nights as part of a hockey tournament. The whole team was on the same floor, the rooms are clean and great, the service wonderful… I loved my stay. The Paccini… nice restaurant, good service and delicious dishes. I would go back anytime with my family.

I took a training in the room solved. The room was clean, the coffee hot and the acoustics very good.

The staff did not listen to a request we had, so very disappointed on this side of the service… It's a pity, for the gentleman at the front desk you're losing points at your hotel.
As for the room, it was correct, but lacking a wardrobe and a very small bathroom.
The Spa area and pool is superb and very nice.

Decent room but great spa and indoor pool. Kind of like a tropical rainforest inside (seriously). Convenient location to highway with Boston Pizza next door and food options just down the hill.

I always stay at this hotel but it is mostly because it is cheaper than most hotels. Some of the rooms have been renovated but the hotel has some rooms that are very noisy. I've also stayed in the condohotel space that had a direct view on the bar and was in the basement. So I guess that if you're in the college crowd and looking for a place that is clean and not too pricey, this is a good place to stay. If you're the business kind of traveler I think they're some better venue's although pricier. On the positive side, the staff is courteous and the hotel well managed. Plus the grocery store is close by.

Excellent Hotel… cheap for what it has to offer. I even managed to get a two bed room for $79 plus taxes at night… Just looked at the pool area… Is paradise… Every time I go to Quebec City, I stay here. I would recommend it… The city center is a 10 min drive or the bus with the 807, you can get there. In addition, a two minute walk, we have the pyramid of Ste-Foy where there is a lot of restaurant. I don't have to complain. That good reviews about this hotel.

The staff is OK (I was given the wrong room when I arrived. ) A little more attention would have been appreciated. The beds are way too hard. I understand that they can meet all the needs of all… but an in-between in the firmness of the beds would not be a luxury. For the rest it is a beautiful place; The pool, the spa, the balconies where you can sit and relax, a gym and the Boston Pizza restaurant in the hotel (no need to go out). Really the only negative is the beds. If they changed their beds for something more comfortable, it would be a great place!

First I would like to say we are accustomed to go to the Universal Hotel of Alma and we have always been very satisfied but this weekend… Mattress completely smashing I got up this morning with the spring Mark Impregnate in the back and same situation in the 2 bed of our room when I told the hotel receptionist I got a smile and was told that it made me T of souvenirs to report… Not really acceptable for an institution that says 4 *. Other than that the pool and the spa smelled very bad… I do not believe that the universal will continue to be our destination in Alma! Really sorry yet so well situate!

We had a suite, very nice, nice big space to receive friends. Amenities and close to all services. The pool quickly fills up in the evenings especially on weekends. The bar and restaurant Boston Pizza allows us to go for a drink, watch a game where to eat a good meal without having to go out. They also deliver to the house. They offer lunches. We were 6 rooms in the same section and we all enjoyed our stay very much!

Samedi dernier, avec un groupe de 50 personnes, il y a eu un conflit ou mésentente entre le gérant de l'hôtel et le gérant du Pacini. Si bien que nous avons eu du très mauvais service au Pacini. De retour à l'hôtel le samedi soir après 2h30 pour souper chez Pacini, ils avaient oubliés de mettre les produits dans piscine. Piscine fermée pendant quelques heures. Prochain voyage dans cette région, nous irons ailleurs.

Very disappointed with the room. Cleanliness of the bed cover and the mattress leaves to be desired. One of the two beds had a mattress "high. " No current outlet is accessible. Only 2-branch extensions so impossible to plug my laptop. There is a door in the room that communicates with the outside, but it is doomed so impossible to get out. The bath is clogged so between two showers one has to wait for the accumulation of water to leave. The rooms are not soundproofed we were woken up by the people who spoke and laughed in the hallway in the middle of the night…

Parking available, veranda with swimming pool, spa and parrots really exceptional. Very pleasant stay. Boston Pizza integrated into the hotel. Only positive!

I'm not difficult for hotel rooms normally but this one is ridiculous… I do not know why this is called a hotel because it has rooms of category motel… Expensive price for quality. This is the only room available in the vicinity of Quebec so I took it, but having known, I might have chosen to sleep in my car!

Beautiful lobby and pool area! Receptionists were very pleasant to work with. Boston Pizza on the premises. Prices were very reasonable for the area. Rooms need a lot of work, a lot. They are dated and have little bit of a musty smell. They look nothing like the pictures.

Decent hotel. Has a nice swimming pool and spa. Its also close to a shopping mall that has a lot of amenities (bank, coffee shop, food court, car rental, etc). If you are looking or an overnight stay its a good option. Its also close to Laval Univerisity.

The have taken care of the exterior of the hotel in making sure the common areas look great but they forgot that customers also spend time in the room and they didn't take care of making the rooms look great as well. The washroom is very ourdated to be a three star hotel. The room cleaning crew will always leave my room to the end therefore they'll do it in a rush. They never vacuumed the carpet eventhough it was dirty and I stayed 4 nights. They will leave me with no towels and don't bring cleaning supplies. Enjoyed being in the common areas but not totally in the room which I think is the most important one.

Room was like a basement room. Looking at a car that sat higher than me directly in front of my window. Beds r awful. Hard as hell. Big stain on the carpet. Rooms in dire need of a refresh. I called to get a room on a higher floor and they offered me a room with no window and no air condtioning. What?! Man. I will def read reviews of places before we book another place.

Booked Hotel got a loft building next door. At least it was clean. Even though our room faced the parking lot and had a garage door for a window… Price is reasonable and staff are friendly. If the prices matched the star rating it would be more of an incentive to stay again.

They're missing things in the room. No counter space in the bathroom. The towel rack was too small. They didn't have body cream. The shampoo smells like vegetables. The lamp was too far away from the bed. The air conditioner was sporadic. The TV volume had to many increments. Aaron fell asleep before me and started to snore making it difficult to fall asleep. I was really tired from walking around Old Quebec. My room mates wanted to leave at 6 am. I was really tired. Also we found the cold pool in the Scandinavian spa was way too cold. If you get this far in my review congratulations! They hotel was great. Don't expect a 4-5 star. It's a deserved 3 star. Great value for the area and friendly staff.

We did have a slightly malfunctioning ac, but it wasn't that hot, so it was fine. The rooms were very clean and seemed brand new. The hotel's installations are also very pleasant, including fridge, pool, spa and movie theatre. There's also a few grocery stores nearby where you can go get cheaper drinks and food, making you avoid paying 3$ for a water bottle. Overall I greatly enjoyed the experience and would come again if I go to Alma in the future.

Service is great. All the staff speak a little English at least which was perfect for me. Room could've been better ventilated (smells tended to stick around) and temperature was difficult to control. Room was very comfortable. Jacuzzi tub in the room was great.

At first sight the hotel looked a bit of a concrete block and we had trouble finding our way to the entrance (from the lower level car park). However it proved to be very pleasant, clean and with comfortable beds. We had breakfast here and it was good too. We also found the staff to be friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel, lots of services, very good restaurant inside the hotel (Pacini, a must try for breakfast or dinner). Hotel is in renovation, don't get caught with an old room : they look like 80's rooms.

We stayed in the lofts. Very clean and comes with a small kitchen, Keurig, and hot plate. The only issue we had was with the shower head. It would spray everywhere.

The rooms are really clean. Friendly staff. The only thing was no shower curtain our first night but the cleaning crew installed one asap. The location is great, if you don't mind driving, which I don't.

The rooms were clean and neat. The bathroom was small but functional. There was little parking and we had to park at lot down the street. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would use the hotel again.

Nice hotel, our room was good size and functional! The atrium is nice and interesting, but not for people like us who wish to relax. Too many children and teenagers screaming, unfortunately. Otherwise, the staff is excellent and welcoming!

Black marks on the wall, paint peeling, the mirror is old and broken, there is a hole in the floor not damaged a hole there! I must also say that your maids are the corners round hair on the callorifaire and the floor… filth corner sink & co. Furniture.
This is frankly unacceptable to a room $200 $ it's unfortunate because I know that times are tough and the competition is fierce in Quebec City as anywhere but I was very disappointed I recommend not your hotel and wouldn't go back unfortunately. But the girls at the reception are very nice.

I booked for two nights in a superior room with a balcony view of the atrium and finally I had no view of the atrium but on the boston pizza. Then, on the first night, the morning there was people or children yelling in the atrium. But this is supposed to be open between 7:00 and 22:00. Then, we slept badly. In addition, during the night around 12:30 in the morning a security guard gets hit in a bedroom door because a Madam forgot his card for entered and her husband was asleep, then the agent has had the brilliant idea to hit in the door to wake him up and he woke up full of people in the hotel. Summary, IMPOSSIBLE to sleep… In addition, tapestry was taken off the wall and doors closed badly. To complete, not worth it to pay $ 506 for two nights in this hotel, I am very disappointed!

Convenient location, not too far from downtown. Rooms were clean but bathroom is very small. Our two nights were very noisy. At first I thought our room was below the gym or a wedding reception. Went upstairs to find a basketball team in the room directly above ours at 1am. About 5-6 doors on that floor above ours were open and the people in those rooms were very loud and moving from room to room, the mirror on the wall of our room was shaking all the time. I asked the 6-8 people that were in the room above ours to turn down the noise and it went on for another 45 minutes until almost 2am. I also mentioned to the staff that there was too much noise coming from that section but they shrugged it off just saying "yeah, it's a sports team". The beds were very uncomfortable and the heating system was so loud that we had to shut it off and temperatures fell considerably at night. Only giving 2 stars because it was clean enough and the boys liked the pool area.

Personally, I strongly advise you not to come in this hotel, small pool, spa "nordik" 0 relaxing with some sona done with surfboard of balcony and wood screws (that are loose and dangerous) a restaurant that closes at 10 so to them who work like me and who are hungry at 10. Your fucked shower "renovated" but with the tap int never changed I almost ripped off to make it run as world — _ — the beds! AWFUL FUCKING I thinks I'll sleep on the floor! I have a spring in the back! brief big place of… Poop next direct hit to the Times or the best western! ✌️En more I saw the roof which was leaking. With a big ring full of water… It was. On the first floor — _ — find the error…

We arrived and found out we had received a free room upgrade, which was obviously welcomed. The front desk staff was amazing and very helpful for our first time in Quebec. The hotel is right next to a ton of bus routes which is very helpful and cuts down on walking/taxi time. We did have an issue with water coming from our bathroom ceiling caused by a guest upstairs having the bath overflow. We called the front desk and maintenance was there almost instantly and took care of everything. They frequently checked back to make sure everything was doing fine and that was the source of the problem. The pools were clean and housekeeping did a wonderful job. The atttched resturant was pretty good, once again very helpful and courteous staff. One thing we found out too late in booking our trip, learn a little bit of French. Just the basic pleasantries, it will go a long way. Great hotel and city!

Superb hotel and all you need movie theatre SPA indoor pool and nice restaurant "PACINI" with reasonable price and choice friendly personal and cosy style I like it, this my first day impression.

$ 169 for a room where the air conditioning was not functioning, whose bed was very hard, whose furniture was half break, much too hard beds and even a bed that had not been done. The decoration date several years. This not to mention the noise music until 11:30 and more so to isolate that one s'entandais each door open upstairs. In short I do not recommend anyone.

Internet was either not functional or just so slow that we don't want if venture (even very early or late)! no available bathrobe she was all distribute. These really complicate buy more? or take ten per room? well anyway but I nor would not return…

There was food in the fridge, television fell off the wall, there was water on the carpet in the room, the smell was nauseating, there was a smell of cigarette, parking is not functional, the faucet flowed, the Wi-Fi worked very hard, the mattress was not comfortable (very very closed with springs), kids were jumping in the tub while they are not allowed. A member of staff came and said nothing. Otherwise, the front desk staff was OK. There will be several works to perform. The hotel is defrechi.

Although I would go back to Hôtel Universel Sainte-Foy it will be after looking for other options. First though I have to complement the establishment on the fantastic staff that cheerfully accepted my broken French when I insisted on attempting it and on their perfect fluency with English. They were very accommodating in everything. The hotel facilities however cannot help but show their age (layered paint and wallpaper, traces of corrosion on hinges — huge buildings are nightmares to keep up and look perfect) despite a not too distant renovation and a damp, musty scent permeated the level in which I found my room. Rooms are a trifle small and the bathroom vanity was entirely too tiny. Beds were comfortable enough and we slept the whole night through. Atmosphere only suffered from rowdy college-age patrons coming and going and filling buckets with ice however they were in no way threatening. Internet speed via Wi-Fi was better than most hotels I've been at in five years. Outdoor parking was easy and well lit and the location is pretty good for most attractions. I'll return to Québec City and this location will not be discarded out of hand.

The room is worth its price, old commercial carpet, walls painted without decorations, not small "chocolate" room on the bed. A view on. The roof. Breakfast is not included in the price of a room.

The best hotel in Québec city! Brilliant bilingual staff, outstanding facilities, ideal room service, nice and quiet, fully airconditioned, great prices — all in all, everything is up to the highest standard. Right away feels like a second home. :) We loved it.

This is the HOTEL! And the restaurant Bordeaux: the best fork in the city.

Our stay at the hotel was very nice, room on the 2nd floor, large, big bed, well furnished, hot tub and shower corner, lots of space and even a comfortable couch. Very friendly and accomdating. Hotel well located for access to all points of interest in Quebec City and not too expensive and more. 4 stars.
