This place could use a MAJOR update. Its not pretty nor cozy but the room and the bed were clean. It is pet friendly. Bring your own hairdryer.

Nice, clean and friendly.

No phone in your room. Iron from 1970 just about ruined my 100 dress. Needs an update. Pool was out of commission in August.

Free Wi-Fi-no connection. No so clean. Bed is springy and not comfortable. Bedsheets seem itchy. Plenty of insects. Cheap.

Ok place to stay for a night. As far as road-side motels go this place was very clean and could't hear the neighboring tenants.

My husband and I walked in to three beds in the room but was told it was a family room. We were likely that we got a room for all hotels and motels were full. Well we walked in and the smell, I turned down a couple of beds to find dirt particles and on one of the beds black hair well I think that not much more needs to be said! We were out of there! We arrived just after midnight to the motel from Ottawa and still had a two hour drive till home. Do not book a room at Gate Motel.

Booked a queen bed and received a two double bed room. Didn't bother to question at the time so I'm not sure if it was an honest mistake or problem with booking website I used. Would not stay during colder months as exterior door and bathroom window had gaps when closed. A bit expensive. Staff were pleasant.

Friendly and super helpful staff which is why I gave this place 3 stars… according their ammentitice: if you need to spend only one night there it could be ok… depends on how picky you are…

Less worse than what it seems. Wifi is okay but not super strong. This motel lack of réno but perfect for an overnight road trip.

Decrepit. I would have liked to write a positive review, because the owners seem nice, but this is an old place in desperate need of renovations. The coat of paint they were applying for the summer season is not going to cut it. We had ants trailing across our room, blinds that were falling apart and a bathtub that hadn't had a good scrub in ages. The pool's lining was falling off, so it wasn't open and the 'free wireless' was so spotty as to be non-existant. Still we got a good night's sleep and the sheets were clean (an no signs of bed bugs I checked! But also no bed bug proof covers on the mattresses). Maybe in a year or two it might be different if they put the work into it, but as of the spring of 2013, I wouldn't recommend it.

Very clean and (VERY). Spacious. Would recommend for any one to stay here. Also very friendly people who work here. Best price! You wouldn't expect this much for this price. We Will be back :-)
