Stains everywhere. Floors, walls, doors, furniture, sheets. Checked in, got a good whiff, checked out. Don't fall for the budget price or the decent photos. Lady at the front desk was VERY nice, however!

Need renovation. Cleanliness leaves a lot of accumulated dirt to be desired. Garbage is overflowing. Beds are uncomfortable s great need for renewal.

Pros: price, location, and friendly staff. Room size was great. Clean. Wifi worked well although was slow to first log in. Breakfast was included. Hotel was quiet. Cons: hallway reeks of smoke. Beds and pillows need to be updated. An overhaul of the hallways (carpet replacement and paint) would do wonders. Our door was very sticky to open and close. Styrofoam coffee cups.

I’m going to give this no stars! Room had a weird smell, carpets had a wet spot and I have never slept on a more uncomfortable bed in my life. Wish I’d brought a tent and camped in the parking lot! Staff was friendly but that’s about only good thing about the experience. I hope the rooms aren’t all that bad. If I wouldn’t have been so tired I would have got refund and went elsewhere.

I really wanted to give four stars but the beds are horrible. It feels like you're sleeping on a pull out couch. Wi-Fi is excellent and the staff are always incredibly friendly and helpful. If the beds were just a little bit better I would probably consider coming back and would definitely give it a higher rating.

Got the suite with the jaccuzi tub. Everything as expected. Room smelled a little funny but not too funny. Bed very comfortable. Nice service. All good.

Nice place but is starting to show its age. Workers thete were great.

We mostly just needed a clean crash spot for the night, but my partner wanted to surprise me and booked a suite with a big tub and a king sized bed. I guess it's the smoking-porno room because everything had a layer of sticky on it and the bed covers had a cigarette burn all the way through to the mattress. The great staff at the counter switched us to a different room (non smoking) and everything else about our stay was about average after that. I might hesitate to stay there again, but if you just avoid the smoking spaces (and that sticky room), you're probably going to be fine.

I am generally not a picky person, but this hotel is horrible, never again will make this mistake and book it. Have never seen such a DIRTY & STINKY hotel. I can accept the old stuff, but dirty and disgusting. It looks like the carpet on the floor is never being cleaned or at lease vacuumed. Bed cover and extremely thin blanket, if it can be called a blanket, are very good for garbage. The windows in the rooms are unopened. It smells so bad in the rooms and corridor. The bathroom was clean though. For breakfast they offer sesame seeds bagels, whole wheat bread, muffins, Philadelphia cream cheese Kraft, strawberry jam, peanut butter, coffee, tea, milk.

We (myself, my husband, my 2 year old and my baby) took a last minute trip and booked with Econo Lodge in Orillia. NEVER AGAIN will I book with them. I called ahead of time because we would check in late and asked if they had a crib or playpen available (website said they had both). The woman on the phone said they did not have a crib but a playpen would be set up in our room ready for us when we got there. I made sure to ask her if she was certain they had one because I could have brought mine but she told me she had one and was going to make sure it was ready. Check in was quick but when we got to our room no playpen was available, they don’t even have one in the motel! The room smelled and it was only 10 degrees, my kids were freezing while we waited for the heat to warm up the room. The beds and pillows were old and super uncomfortable. We got up for breakfast and surprise, no high chairs or booster seats for kids and they only had whole wheat bread, sesame seed bagels and coffee, no fruits or milk. We went to front desk to complain about our room and the lady told us it wasn’t a big deal and our baby can sleep in a bed. Horrible service and motel.

Staff is excellent. Breakfast is great. Tv channels are good. Food places around hotel are all in walking distance. Little nosey at night. Some updates to the rooms would be nice but overall its a good place. It is very clean.

Excellent Employee's here at this hotel, couldn't of asked for a better weeks stay. Thank you to Helen who was absolutely fantastic through out our one week stay as well as all the other Employee's, they went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and they allow animals which was fantastic. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone.

Although its a pretty basic place compared to some other hotels I always use this hotel when in area its clean staff is friendly and if you need some thing pretty much just got to ask. Why pay big bucks There is rooms more updated but they do cost a tad more Wifi has always worked well for me except once and it was my device setting no fault of the hotel. Breakfast although basic it offers something to get your day started which fine by me Id rather have cheaper rate and put money in my pocket.

I have stayed there many times over past several years. I have to say this is first time I have been unhappy. The place is certainly wearing down. Sometimes get a good bed and sometimes not like last night. Pillows crappy but worst of all it was dirty. Not sure if room was cleaned or not. Few hairs in bed, garbage and particles all over floor. Cup wrapper in ice bucket. Made me wonder if cleaned at all n if bed was Changed.

Definitely run down but clean. At half the price of nearby hotels it was worth it for me.

Very small and basic rooms, you get what you pay for. The entire hotel smells like cigarettes.

Not bad for the price. Old and dated bathroom but clean. Room was clean. Breakfast was bagels and bananas.

The staff members were polite and friendly. How ever the room smelt horrible. I had to wash all items after leaving to get raid of the odor. Key card gave issues when trying to get in (I apparently had to grab the door and pull it hard for it to work). Break is super basic (Toast, muffins and tea).

Staff was extremely friendly. However the hall way on the main floor stunk really badly. Like old dirtly wet carpet. The room was in disrepair and not very clean looking. The toilet was not secure and was movable. The room smelled but it wasnt unbearable. The king sized bed however was extremely comfortable!

Cheap and relatively close to everything; restaurants, DT, etc. Don't be fooled by the "newly renovated" promo. It was just the lobby. The rooms are dingy and old. The stench from the smoking rooms that is trying to be quashed by airwick is overwhelming the while floor and the lighting/decor is dysfunctional, let alone desirable. I can get over ALL of that because the price is right however, if you can't at least provide a comfortable mattress and pillow (s), then why be in this business? Mattresses were old and flattened, stained too. The pillows we're old and flimsy as well. The basics of sleep comfort should be paramount in priority. Amazing staff and decent breakfast and Wi-Fi.

Rooms small, musty smelling too. Beds uncomfortable. Quiet hotel though. No pool or exercise room. Breakfast very basic. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Good for an overnight stay.

Nice clean rooms. Easy to find. And the awesome lady let my puppy in too.

Service was great! Darlene was very helpful. Room was clean. Was nice to have a mini fridge in the room. King bed was comfortable. Breakfast was simple but suitable.

Decent rooms yet inexpensive.

Stayed at econolodge on our way back from Algonquin. The desk attendants were very nice and accommodated my wife due to her having super human scent due to being pregnant. My wife smelled cigarette smoke in the room so she asked the attendant if we could switch so she upgraded us to a bigger cleaner smelling room. The room was what you would expect for an economy hotel. I have no complaints other then the worst pillows ever. I would stay here again if the need ever arose for it.

This hotel is centrally located within Orillia. Walking distance to numerous restaurants and stores. The lobby was very inviting and clean. Desk staff was very friendly and check in went very smoothly. We stayed in the King Bed room with a Hot Tub. The room was very spacious. In room coffee, fridge, microwave, dinette set and couch in addition to the bed and 32" TV. The room was very clean and inviting. The bed was VERY comfortable. When we got back in at night, I ran the hot tub only to find out that there was no hot water. I went out to the front desk to see what was going on and they had their hot water pipe burst. She assured me that someone was working on fixing it, but it was already almost midnight at that point so I just went to bed. In the morning, the hot water issue was fixed so I ran the hot tub. Jets were powerful. Shower pressure was good and bathroom was clean. Continental breakfast offered was nothing special. White and whole wheat bread for toasting as well as whole wheat bagels. Cream cheese, butter, jam and peanut butter for spreading. There was a small assortment of donuts also available. Coffee, tea and orange juice also available. I was disappointed that there wasn't a little more variety available, maybe some fruits or cereals. Upon checkout I informed the clerk about the issue the night before and she refunded me 10% if the price that I paid for the room, which I thought was decent of them.

I booked this room over the phone and I was told this room had been renovated. The bathroom tiles had black mold. The pull out couch was worn out and had rips. There was black mold under the air-conditioner which was missing dials. The refrigerator leaked water out the bottom to the point it had swollen the cabinet and the doors to the cabinet did not close. Our bedding actually had rips in them. There were mattresses outside by a large dumpster. Not a very appealing place whatsoever. The seal on our window was broke so we could not see out. The place stunk of cigarette smoke even though it was nonsmoking. I gave this a star because the staff were great and so I did not complain but would never stay again. What I can't understand is why after I made my own bed and left for the day I returned to find they remade the top blanket and spread and had turned the blanket around so that the rips were now tucked under the end of the bed. I pulled back the sheets thinking they changed them only to find they had not. So why remake it? Why not spend the time on the bathroom. I cleaned the entire surface area of that room except the floors. A nasty place to stay!

Conveniently located. Free parking. Spacious room with refrigerator and microwave. Staff are fabulous! Extremely helpful. Great room rate.

I stayed at this Hotel with my daughter and granddaughter in June/16. The Hotel is very well situated and has a very nice lobby and friendly staff. remember you get what you pay for. When we booked the room we requested a ground floor room as we had a 10 month old infant travelling with us and we got a second floor room which was situated at the very far end of the hallway. The Hotel had lots of guests with dogs allowed in the lobby area. REMEMBER some people allow their dogs to sleep in their beds; so some of the stains on the bed sheet could come from their dogs…. I believe this is why the hallways reek with a strong perfume/powder smell. (To hide the pets urine smell-maybe! ) The beds/pillows in our room were comfortable. The bed linens were stained and you could see a man’s palm and hand print clearly on the headboard. The Hotel supplied a hair dryer, shampoo/conditioner, soap, clean towels and face cloth; however the tub wall was very dirty. We had to clean it before bathing in it. The refrigerator, A/C, microwave and clock worked but the electricity went out during the night and the A/C stopped working and the room got very hot. The Hotel has lots of potential. Recommendations: Staff should be trained in proper room cleaning. Breakfast area should be equipped with at least 2 infant high chairs. More muffins…no donuts for breakfast please. Front desk staff should have a dress code and washed hair….

I stayed at the Econo in Orillia this past weekend. Im not really one to do these reviews but I was pleasantly surprised at the way I was treated. When I arrived I was unhappy with the room because I am one who prefers a ground floor room and the staff was so helpful handling things quickly and politely. The hotel is not big, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles (ie. Pool, sauna, etc. ) but it is in an excellent location for food and shopping and the customer service really set this hotel apart for me.

My name is Diane Degiorgio and I stayed at this Lodge with my husband on March 31st, 2016. I have to say that I would be very proud and happy to stay there again, The staff was very kind, friendly, and helpful in every way where I needed assistance. The room I stayed in was the family room. It was very clean, beds comfortable, lots of space as it was a large spacious room and I loved it. Then to top it all off, I had free parking, Wi-Fi, and a wonderful free breakfast. All was included in my reasonable priced room. I could not have asked for anything more. It was a very positive experience and one that I will look forward to repeating again. Hope this is helpful and I know you will be happy there too. Have fun,

— — LICE — — STAY AWAY My fiancee and I were staying there while our house was being renovated and we caught lice from the room we were staying in. The people at the front desk refused to acknowledge it and the owner tried making a minute settlement with us because of it. The contenental breakfast was okay, fresh doughnuts from Doughnut Line, wholewheat/white bread&bagels with all of the toppings (including creme cheese). Very displeased with the room. The blankets were old and dingy and the pillows had no fluff whatsoever, the matress was hard and the television in the room had NO AV INPUTS. Do not bring a device or system expecting it to be able to be hooked upto the television. Go to the Maples Motel instead down by Metro instead, they're almost half the price and the room and customer service quality can't be beat. I've stayed in plenty of motels and hotels in Orillia and the EconoLodge is the worst one I've been to!

I checked in in October 2013 to a dirty hotel and a magit on the wall in the bedroom, I checked out and told the desk clerk who really didn't care or offer any solutions, I checked out and she still charged me for the evening I did not stay at the Orillia hotel and would not stay at another Econo Lodge Ever. The rooms on this website are so not the same as seeing it in person…

I was not impressed, the room was dirty, I mean like nasty. The room could not be accessed from the outside from the access key. So each time we needed to get back to our room we had to go through the lobby. It wasn't worth the money. I will never come back again. Highly disappointed,

Last weekend we visited friends in Orillia & stayed at Econo Lodge orillia, we had a exceptional wonderful experience. They have done a lot of renovations & the property looked exceptionally CLASS. Would recommend to anybody.

The worst accommodation I've stayed at in both recent and distant memory. Would never stay again. The room was not clean especially the bathroom. The walls were dirty, there were cigarette ashes on the floor in the bathroom. The rad had not been cleaned in who knows how long. When we arrived we had no idea that this hotel was still providing smoking rooms. We were not asked if we wanted a smoking or non-smoking during the reservation process. We ended up being given a smoking room which reeked with smoke and stale air. We complained at the desk and were told they'd go up and refresh the room while we were out. We were not offered to change to a non-smoking room. When we arrived back at midnight we got to our room and found the door ajar — luckily no one had been in other than the hotel staff and all they did was plug in a "non working" air exchanger. Nothing else had been done and as mentioned the door was left unsecured. Horrible, place, horrible accommodations, horrible everything. They put money into the lobby because it looked ok but that is where their care ends. Disgusting.
