Unfriendly Asian and Filipino staff (to Native guests it seemed). Old, lumpy and uncomfortable beds. Certainly not Best Western standards. Weak satellite signal. Half of TV channels break up. Most of all… uncomfortable beds. Racism were used to. :)

I stayed there this past weekend, it’s my go to hotel when staying in Winnipeg. The breakfasts are amazing! Staff from the minute you walk in till the minute you check out are so helpful! I highly recommend this hotel for your next stay in Winnipeg.

When we called for a shuttle pickup from the airport we were delighted that the front desk person exercised his discretion to direct us to take a taxi thus avoiding our lengthy wait for the shuttle to arrive. The staff, including both those in the breakfast room and in the restaurant were very pleasant. The staff makes it a very nice hotel. It has a very good central location. A poor first impression is created by the dated exterior and the unattractive neighbouring property.

Very good place to stay! I stay here every time I come to winnipeg. I have never been disappointed with the rooms or service. The day time bartender Barry is awesome. The buffet is pretty good.

Great service, front desk is welcoming, breakfast is handled by people that love food, the bar is handled by people that know their drinks, even though it is downtown, it is not scary whatsoever despite all the claims. Diversity is promoted and creates a sense of well-being and belonging. Wish I could say more but an experience is worth more than words.

Very nice rooms with modern Decor. Very clean. Staff friendly. Very good breakfast buffet. Ribs restaurant was excellent. I had a half ribs with half chicken. While the chicken was very good also I wish I had only ribs because the ribs were the best I've ever had. Also had an excellent salad with it.

This is an older property that has been redone. The rooms are clean and fresh. Front desk service is friendly and excellent. They have a good breakfast buffet of fresh food, not the mirowaved from frozen fare that plagues so many hotels.

Very pleasant hotel. Clean, comfortable, best continental breakfast EVER! I had a fantastic sleep in a comfortable bed. No noise from people in the hallway. Friendly staff.

Quality hotel with great location within walking distance to all of downtown events, restaurants, museums, government buildings, river walks, and rail station. Breakfasts is somewhat better than the average Best Western. Decently quiet for a downtown location. Very comfortable beds. Nearby parking though not covered.

Security guards don’t do anything but stand around outside and too many intoxicated people hang around there, had to defend myself cause one of them got into my room.

First night I got there, they did not have my reservation. I was very upset and front desk staff did nothing to help me until I made a phone call. Had to check out early due to no room availability. This is the first time I had to deal with this. Usually I have a good stay at Best Western. This stay was not nice. I was disappointed.

Very enjoyable couple of days. Excellent steak house and a cafe on site. Down town close to everything. Only has a three star rating on most sites but that could be to do with it's competitors like the "Fort George" I've stayed in a lot of hotels of every star and this for me is a four star or higher. Clean and comfortable with very friendly staff. Have no hesitation in recommending it. I believe you get what you pay for and this is definitely value for money. Not always the case with hotels like the George where you pay in part for the prestige and the history.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, great breakfast included. My friend and I arrived very early in the day and they managed to get us into a room much earlier than normal check in even though it had been busy the previous night. Great service. I would stay there again for sure.

Great location, everything is super close. Wide open room layout, a walk out balcony is a great touch and well worth booking it as such.

Stayed at the hotel for an event and we were very well taken care of. Friendly and attentive staff, nicely furnished rooms, and an excellent breakfast.

Initial reaction is that we pay for our own parking. And not guaranteed a spot. Biggest issue Room is clean. More to come tomorrow.

Staff at this hotel are excellent. Very accommodating and attentive. We really enjoyed our stay which was for business and to go to the Jets game which was just a short walk.

The rooms are spacious, you choose your temperature either cool or hot depending on how you feel; or just regular room temperature. But either way, it's a relaxing time and I enjoyed myself very much.

Very nice staff and convinent location. You are paying mostly for the location because the rooms are below par, slightly retro. However everything is clean, so if you are just looking for an average room it will do! The continental breakfast was excellent!

Just a couple of blocks from the the convention center, the hotel is convenient and has many services. The rooms are modern and well kept. The staff is very helpful. There is a shuttle service from the airport and a conference room.

Room is clean and had a nice note welcoming us. Since we were travelling with children the dog made from a towel was a nice touch. It’s right downtown, walking distance to all the fun. One thing that got my attention was that around 9pm when we came back from the hockey game, the entrance smelt like someone was smoking marijuana in it. Breakfast was great, staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

I visited the vlt lounge, thenbar itsself is really noce as well as vlt room. There is a lot of vlts to play from to. Service was excellent.

I don't recommend this hotel. During our stay we found a bed bug in our room. Due to having a toddler, we switched rooms as it was late at night. Asked for a refund and they gave 50% off. However the staff is nice, and the place is welcoming. Definitely will not stay here again though.

Great space. Good breakfast. Convenient location and airport shuttle. Shuttle starts too late for morning flights and conference rooms could use modernizing to temperature but rooms were comfortable. Clean and quiet.

Need a quick drink with no wait times. Why because its usually dead here except for the vlts. Decent place to go for a nice relaxed drink. Mini pitcher of beer is $10 what a steal.

Hotel clean, on the other hand I do not know why, there are a lot of poor people who always come into the hotel to go play at the casino. It's alittle annoying.

Located only a few blocks from the convention centre and downtown, the hotel is clean, elegant and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and kind. The restaurant is not fine dining but a good selection for breakfast and your classic dîner. There is plenty of choices around anyways.

Hotel is in dire need of refresh and repairs. In my room, both the sink and tub were clogged and wouldn't drain, the iron had a leak and wouldn't hold water and the one plugin on the desk in the lamp pulled out to expose live wires when unplugging. The room had no convenient or easily accessible outlets, except the dangerous one on the desk — — had to pull bed away from the wall to be able to access the outlet behind the bed as there were no other ones near the bed. Breakfast was pretty good, service was fine, and location was good too; however, I'll stay elsewhere next time.

Spend 5 days with them for a University research trip from Sask. We had 11 rooms, all grouped together, the buffet is decent for the morning, and the fancy restaurant is wonderful. We all had a great stay and made many memories. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We book in with them every year for student trips.

Staff super friendly and helpful, room was small but nothing to worry about. Everything was clean and comfy. AC was intermittent. Generally the hotel was super clean and secure. At a walking distance of everything.

Went for the breakfast buffet. It was pretty good, they had oatmeal, pancakes and cereal options. Breakfast sausages were the only meat option. They also had scrambled eggs which you could top with freshly made salsa as well as very nice hash browns.

Great staff and service from top to bottom. They handled an early check-in, allowed me to ship to and from the hotel, and a late checkout. Front desk greeted me every time I walked in the hotel and it was a pleasure to stay there. Yes, the location is great but the service is even better.

Hotel is good and with reasonable price in downtown area. You can easily access restaurants, national park, red river, and other visiting spots among busy downtown life at walking distance. I had a 4 days stay there in June 2017 and it was a good experience.

I am pleased to stay at Best Western Downtown in Winnipeg. Staffs at BW are friendly and understand lots about deaf accessible. Of course, one day we would come back again in the future. I would put more than 5 stars. Great job and great service!

Great location to the Shaw centre and the Forks. Great shopping nearby. We are walkers so we were able to walk to all the places we wanted to visit. The only complaint is the in room coffee which is not drinkable. Change brands please! It would have gotten 5 stars but the coffee was the deal breaker.

Great hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff. In hotel laundry which was needed. Clean and efficient. Breakfast was great and the room was also. Unfortunately no hot water the morning we had to leave early, I am sure it's fixed by now! As always, a pleasure to stay with BW.

Rooms were clean and well equipped with the essentials you would expect. Downtown location is convenient and close to the convention centre. No taxi stand out front, so plan a wait for one into your trip if you don't have a car with you.

Great! Location was great! Staff friendly and accommodating! We were approached by a homeless guy after returning from the Soul2Soul concert. We were in the lounge and he told us his story and then my husband gave him all the change he had in his pocket. At no time did we feel uncomfortable but for the grace of God we are most thankful!

Had a great stay with the best western downtown. Convenient, the free shuttle is a plus! Had no issues when I stayed here. Friendly people! Will be booking again soon!

Beds and bathroom were dirty hair in the bed left from other guest and body hair on toilets and in tub, front desk staff and night manager were very rude! I had asked for the general managers number at least 4 time before they would even give me her number, I call her right after my incident with my room, and very rude experience with the staff. Let hope my issues get resolved in the am, they didn't even give me the option the refund me, very disgusting dirty room! Very rude staff! And too top it off $300 a night to stay in this dump, not worth it at all, I do not recommend this hotel to anyone! Carpet not cleaned in room and no hair dryer. Downstairs people throwing up on sidewalks around the building and ruff looking people hanging around in lobby that didn't stay there.

It's an ok hotel, looks good but the details are bad. For instance the Internet is garbage, compare to other hotels in the region. The elevator is really strange, it sometimes refuses to stop at Lobby floor making people frustrated. The door is beyond old to a state that you'll need to try to open it multiple times to open the door. If I would pass Winnipeg again, I would rather choose those newer constructed inns or hotels.

The room decor is nice; that's where the good part ends. The room door wouldn't shut without slamming it. The 14" sliding closet doors barely slid open or shut. The ventilation wouldn't ever shut off while set on auto, no matter what temp it was set at. If you're on the 2nd floor where the fitness room is, you only have a choice of going down on the elevator, although they do move at a reasonable speed. I was on the 5th floor across from the elevator. It may have been elevator noise, or who knows what, but something would vibrate the room like a helicopter regularly. To top it off; you can plug into the TV HDMI port, but you can't change to that input source, so you are stuck with hotel TV. I would find difficulty finding $100/night value in this hotel, which clearly seems to be stuck in the 90's, and I am a Best Western Diamond member; I checked in elsewhere before my first night was over.

One of the best hotels in down town Winnipeg, I stayed here for few days until I found an apartment in the city. The rooms was spacious and super clean, wired internet was very reliable and fast. Front desk staff are very helpful, friendly and professional. I love the food at their restaurants and I still go there every once in a while for lunch and dinner. I would recommend it for my friends.

Apparently the rates aren't high enough. First time here. Walked in, and there were two guys standing by the desk arguing about how one had stolen the other's cellphone. The clerk just looked shocked, and tried to pretend it wasn't happening. Checked in, went to first room on the second floor. Door to the balcony was wide open when I walked in. Tried closing and locking it, wouldn't stay closed. Went back and got another room. As I was walking down the hall to my room an older white woman was shoving two young Aboriginal girls into a room and yelling at them that customers were on the way. Keep it classy Best Western…
