Terrible breakfast. I love East Indian food but not first thing in the morning. Breakfast was served in the East Indian restaurant (The Spice Hut) where the smell of curry did not mix with bacon, eggs and coffee. 3 garbage bins were situated in front of the breakfast table so you had to sort of reach over the garbage to get your food. Hot food had no covers over or heaters underneath, yogurt was in a bowl with no ice or anything to keep cold, scrambled eggs were not fully cooked. Pay $5-10 extra for The Quality Inn or Clarion.

It was such a good stay only because we got a room with bunk beds. Perfect for a family of five. The kids enjoyed the pool. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was fantastic. We will definitely stay again.

Got bumped from a Super 8 and got sent to Medicine Hat Travelodge. First room had no working tv. They gave us another room. This room had no working a/c. Not acceptable.! These rooms have not been serviced in years. They said they were working on it! I doubt that very much. A/c had no control knob on it! Not impressed! They did give me a fan to put in front of the window, to suck in the humidity I guess. Won't be back!

Clean hotel great rooms friendly accommodating staff. Upgraded my room without asking. Classy place.

We went back to front desk. Second room was better, had a tub, no fixtures dangling. For the money, it's cheaply furnished. The entire place looks tired. Worn. Carpets throughout this hotel looked to me as if they need to be replaced. Our room had 2 doors, good for fire safety, however the door lock to the outside door was loose and the jamb was cracked. They had painted over the damage, but it was there. The restaurant takes the cake however. I've eaten in Indian places in Vancouver that weren't as expensive as this. Rice and naan cost 2.50 each extra here, when ordered alongside a 15 dollar entré? Give me a break. Give. Me. A. Break. Edited to add: 0730 Pacific time, room telephone rang twice waking us. Moments later roofing crew began smashing up shingles overhead, throwing them into dumpster deposited directly in front of our outside door. When we mentioned all of this to the desk clerk on checking out we received a $10 discount.

Stayed here for three nights, it was very quiet, rooms were clean, beds were comfortable. There is within walking distance several eating establishments, 3 gas stations and convenience stores, not to mention a few bars and liquor stores. There is a swimming pool with a water slide here.

While it is understandable that major building maintenance is required from time-to-time, it is inexcusable to use rooms such as the one we had when they planned construction to start at 0800. This was not just an issue of noise. When we opened the outside door fairly large pieces of wood and shingles fell down on the sidewalk immediately in front of the door. This easily could have resulted in a trip to the hospital. The hotel could have advised us of the danger and noise the night before but opted not to. Had we known we would have stayed elsewhere. We had a late night and an unplanned and unwelcomed early morning as a result and made more tedious as we are used to the Pacific time zone. The front desk manager gave us $10 off our stay and said that she would have a word with the contractor. This is not the fault of the contractor! The hotel should not be using the affected rooms! The onsite restaurant is not run by the hotel. The space is leased to a business called "The Spice Hut". I'll just write that we planned to eat there but the menu was odd. The prices were very high given the location and the menu insulting to charge $2.50 extra for rice AND $2.50 extra for naan. These should be included. The hotel's "continental breakfast" used the same dining room in the morning. The stench of used cooking oil permeated the room. I am so glad that we opted not to try The Spice Hut. On the positive: the large television and its remote control worked well. The Wi-Fi worked.

Was not impressed with our stay at the Travelodge. Rooms were Rundown and dirty. We didn't have towels in our room so we had to ask for them. The countertops and nightstands were not wiped down and still had food stains on them from somebody else. The bathtub was not washed out and still had hair in it from the person before us. Won't be staying there again.

First of all the pool smelled horrible I think its because the hot tub that was empty but constantly blasting water through the jetts at high speeds when we told the staff about it they had no idea what was happening than about an hour later the sent a guy in to try and fix it to he clicked the emergency stop button witch put out an annyiong constant beeping that went on over and over and over so than we just eventually left because of that. Also when we got there in the first place every thing was unplugged and I mean everything like the TV and coffie maker clocks everything I can get that there trying to save money but its a hotel you shouldent make the cystomer plug all the appliances in. The only thing that this hotel offerd me that other never do is how huge the TV was deffinently one of the biggest tv's iv seen in a hotel in a long time.

Comfortable beds. Big tv's. Good value.

There was actual poop in my shower and was given no refund for my awful experience. Staff were super rude. Worst customer service I’ve ever received. (In Medicine Hat)

Came to visit family that was staying here and was very, very disappointed that this was not a wheelchair friendly hotel. Only wheelchair accessible entrance to the restaurant was thru the lounge. And we couldn't even go to the family's room cause it was on the second floor and there is no elevator. Very nice pool area and the restaurant was excellent so rating would've been higher but my fiancé had to crawl up stairs cause he was in a wheelchair.

Great event held downstairs in the banquet room. Also great rates for wedding rooms I'll be reserving here for my upcoming wedding.

The pictures posted online are a false portrayal of the actual rooms. The bedding was clean, the mattresses were fairly comfortable. The heat was not working well. We had an entrance from the outside as well as from inside the hotel. There was ice buildup on the outer door. It was nice to bring everything straight to the room. The room was not well cleaned, the bathroom was very outdated and dingy, dirt built up in the corners. The room had been partially renovated, poorly. The water slide and pool were fun, the area at night was very dark, half the lights didn't work. No one manned the desk in the pool area so you needed to head to the front desk for towels, which was not great once you've already been in the water. The hot tub had a maximum occupancy of 5. It had a nice big TV, an apartment sized fridge and a microwave. The shoddy reno, and filth made it feel uncomfortable. Not worth my money, and I do not plan to stay there again.

Service is good but maintenance is not so good. Booked with the hotel for the hot tub and it was down more than 70% of the time. Beds and washroom was not clean. Maids skipped the room many times cleaning. Commercial customer stayed for long term and won’t be returning.

Everything was good. Good facility, good meal with good price. Pool was excellent to play with kids. But I was sorry that our swimming suit made our room smell like pool. That smelly is not hotel's fault.

Wrong room. Wrong rate. Old and in need of updates. Restaurant closes at 10 on Fridays. No a/c and it was very warm in the room… uncomfortably warm.

Great hotel. Got storm stayed here and staff was very helpful and very reasonable prices.

Had dinner at The Spice Hut inside the Travel Lodge. East Indian fine dining. The ambiance was peaceful tasteful. Restaurant was very clean and the service was good. Unless you like real hot don't ask for medium spice go for mild the flavor was traditionally excellent.

Shower too hot to use. Room thermostat turned on fan and blew cold air when early morning heat was desired. Stayed in room 224 Aug 27, 2017

Our stay at the Medicine Hat Travelodge was wonderful. The rooms were spacious, clean & comfortable. The pool & waterslide were great for the children (8 months, 3, 4, 6 & 9 years). The staff was very friendly and helpful. The new manager will be a huge asset to the team. The rates were reasonable and we would highly recommended this hotel to anyone traveling in the area. 2 thumbs up.

DO NOT STAY HERE… Let me explain, arrive on Friday and first off rooms were not ready when we arrived, no big deal though we had other stuff to do. When we finally got into our a/c rooms the temp in our room was 27 C and it was muggy. Suffered in the heat the first night went and complained to front desk on Saturday, then went about our day. Came back later that night to find no change in the A/C at all, but they did turn the switch to HEAT and Cranked the thermostat, thank god there heating and cooling equipment is junk and it did not work. Another night at 28 C also while having a small dose of heat stroke this place was unbearable. They did not clean our rooms the whole time we were there, the bath towels had dried blood on them, and to top it off they overcharged us for the stay as well… I read some reviews and I see they like to use renovations as an excuse to why there chambermaids and a/c both dont work… I wouldn't even give it one star but I couldn't proceed to my review with doing so… Negative 5 stars.

Pool area was great, fantastic for the kids. Rooms were dated — zero control over room temperature. No TV remote in the room. Honestly I'd stay overnight if I needed to but the place needs an overhaul.

We showed up here with no reservation last week. The overall stay was top notch. Not the fanciest hotel but it was exactly what we wanted on our road trip. The lady at the front desk, Monica, was an angel. An absolutely wonderful woman. Even called us after we got into our room to make sure everything was good. She was our favorite part about staying at the travel lodge. It's always so refreshing to meet someone so genuine, kind, and upbeat.

Very nice pool with water slide. Large continental breakfast. Good value. Friendly staff. Currently being renovated so it should yearly nice once that it done.

Good budget option. Rooms a little dated but the pool area is a feather in their Cap. Great for kids.

Went to a birthday party at the medicine hat travellodge, pool was clean abd my daughter had lots of fun on the waterslide and ib the little kids area.

Worst restaurant ever. We had the misfortune of eating on their new 'fiesta friday' where they charge $5 for tacos/quesadillas which consist of (no joke) a miniscule amount of chicken/ground beef and cheese. The service was pathetic as well. We were there for over 2 hours and were checked on twice. Had to go to the bar to get our beers. When I approached the bar to get my bill 2 hosts ignored me and continued with their own conversation rather than asking if I needed anything. Honestly im pretty easy going but this restaurant was horrible. The front desk ladys were pleasant and accommodating. The rooms are spacious and clean. No bugs. The beds have 2 pillows, mine were just fine. The pictures of the hotel are very dated, this building is much older than when they were taken. Nice looking pool area, but didnt go in. Was told that we are only aloud 6 room keys for some reason. You will not get to enjoy a continental breakfast here unless you payed $99+ for your room.

Hotel getting older but kids really enjoyed the pool and waterslide. Breakfast consisted of two free breakfasts for four guests. Staff was very friendly and responded quickly to requests.

For what they charge? You can't ask for more. Great service, really cheerful staff, obviously the owners care about the place. It's an older building so you can't expect everything brand new and shiny. Decent kitchen but not open Sundays.

The continental breakfast they offer is only for rooms costing over $99. They should probably mention that. That's the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. No other hotel that I am aware of only offers it to some rooms. They should probably change that. Like now.

No wonder it's so cheap if you're paying more then 53$ a night look somewhere else… rooms are cold you can here everything in the halls you have one window in the room that faces the indoor pool so you can hear kids screaming. I kept my curtains closed something so unsettling about a bunch of people swimming right outside my room… if you don't care about hearing drunks outside your door this is the place for you.

It served it's purpose of giving us a place to sleep. The waterslide is fun. But there were bugs everywhere in our room and we were denied our continental breakfast.

This place is a grade A hole and the staff is the most useless I ever seen! Contractors if you don't want your men to quit and leave stay away from this hole it is infuriating as like I said the staff are as bad as the hotel itself! I'll never have my men or myself set foot here again.

My family and I checked in here for Christmas. We booked 2 poolside rooms beside each other. When we arrived only 1 of our rooms were poolside and the other room was half way across the hotel! The hotel is very dated, but was clean and neat which is what matters. We picked to stay in this hotel because of the water park. It was okay, the pool is pretty shallow but the slide was fun. The change rooms were horrible. In both the male and female change rooms the lights didn't work. We mentioned this to someone at the front desk and they asked us "Isn't there a garbage can sitting in front of the doors so you can see in there? " The staff were pretty friendly overall except for the night staff who seemed to hate their job. Overall its an okay hotel if you don't plan on hanging around a lot.

Asked for 2 beds and non-smoking. Got 1 bed and the whole hotel smells like a cigarette. Disgusting! Bathrooms had black grout and tub had spots of black mildew/mold. The radiator rattles all night long. Left after 1 night. Do yourself a favor and stay away.
