Review of Lake Louise Inn 3*

I would not recommend Lake Louise Inn to anyone with any sort of dietary restrictions as their restaurants won't accommodate your needs in any way. Unless they read this review & change their policies. But before I get into that. My room was unremarkable. The washroom was alright, though the tub had hair left in it, but thankfully there were plastic & paper cups that were put in the rooms probably due to the recent News reports on the gross negligence of cleanliness over reusable cups in many major hotels. The beds in my room were two doubles that were moderately comfortable. The front desk staff were friendly at the very least. Now here was my biggest problem, aside from paying almost $200 a night at a discounted rate due to staying there as part of a wedding party, for a mediocre room. My problem came with their restaurant staff. I had arrived late that evening & after having a shower missed the meal times in their pub. That was alright as I had a few snacks from my travels, I would go there for breakfast the following morning before going to the wedding I was going to… so I thought anyway. I went to their breakfast buffet that wasn't very good. My Boyfriend made his own waffle from liquid to cooked in a waffle iron, I guess they think that's an experience, had some shredded hash browns & coffee that cost him about $20. He said it wasn't even that good. I am a Vegan & have some food allergies & food sensitivities at that so I usually ask for something to be left out of my food or ask for something simple. I couldn't eat from their Buffet & saw something I could eat in their lunch menu. Only problem is it was from their Lunch a menu that they would not start till 11:30, and I was there for 9am. It was a sandwich. I left disappointed & hungry. I left only to come back at about 10:30 & explained my issue of not eating supper the night prior, that I couldn't eat anything on their breakfast menu, didn't have time to leave to eat elsewhere & come back as I had a wedding to go to & I couldn't eat till later on that evening. Their exact words were "I'm sorry mam but its impossible to make that for you as that's our lunch menu. " My blood sugars were getting low & I was feeling sick, tried to appeal to their sensibilities stating that I understand that it's their lunch menu but I was just asking for a sandwich. I was denied & so I left upset. I ended up eating a Chia Bar I had from a gas station, and drank an orange juice to tie me over till the late afternoon where I ended up going to a restaurant not affiliated with Lake Louise Inn, and had food between the Wedding & Reception. Due to the calorie crash I had & eating high sugar foods to tie me over I felt very ill. Had Lake Louise Inn's staff offered understanding in my situation all of that could have been avoided. I also ended up checking out a day early as I was not going to allow that awful place take another $200. I will never return there & will be pasting this review in as many places as I can to warn anyone who has any sort of dietary restrictions that you will not be taken care of & they don't care about their customers. You are simply a wage that they can earn & nothing more. Stay some place else!
